Popular Post SoapMacTavish222
#387 Little Big Planet 2 on PS3 I had earned the platinum for LBP1 a few weeks back because it was in my backlog for years. LBP2 has also been in my backlog for a couple years. I still need to go back through and do the DLCs that I have. Unfortunately I missed the boat on the Muppet DLC pack so I will not be able to 100% this game. The levels to ace were definitely easier than part 1, or maybe I just felt that way because I was already really focused on acing the levels. I will say the 10 aces in a row was very annoying. If you have not already started the online trophies for this game then I do not recommend starting this game. The 50 unique plays trophy will be completely out of your control unless you're apart of a boosting group. (Side Note: Big Shout out to all of you that played my level to help me with this) But there's also the Dive in trophy which most of the people that are left playing want to stay in their pods and talk. It is honestly going to get more and more difficult to finish this game so if you do intend to finish this game, don't keep it on the back burner much longer.

Popular Post madbuk
#398 - Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory Another GOTY contender has appeared. I was initially pretty skeptical about this game. Kingdom Hearts has some fantastic music, and I do enjoy Hatsune Miku, but I never really play rhythm games so I wasn't sure how much I'd end up enjoying it. They released a demo, and that was enough to sell me on it. I ended up putting 13 hours into the demo alone because it was so fun. I was originally content to let the Kingdom Hearts series rest after 3. It closed up a lot of loose ends and felt like a good stopping point. Not that I don't enjoy the games, but I'm tired of having to slog through tens of hours of Disney filler to get any actual story progression, but Melody of Memory looked so unique and different and the demo was so good that I just had to play it anyway. It suffers the same problem as Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3 (and Dream Drop Distance tbh) - the plot is horribly paced, and even worse than the aforementioned games, there's barely any of it too. What is there does set up some interesting plot threads going forward but I don't know if I really care enough to continue (unless it's another rhythm game like this lol), I'll have to keep my eye on it closer to the time. Hopefully they stick to PlayStation (and ideally elsewhere too) from now on instead of spreading all over the place like before the HD remixes. I definitely recommend everyone trying out the demo for this game at least, just to see if it's for you. It was much, much better than I had anticipated.

Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #417: Gonner Why Huh, you did it. Good job. Why tho? Bragging rights? You know Sally died, right? While you where off shooting things, chasing highscores and getting combos. She died. Maybe of a broken heart, you wouldn't know. Nonetheless, getting all these trophies is not a small feat. So here you go. Well done. There was a time when simply having a rare trophy wasn't enough. Back before the rage regarding the proliferation of easy Rat plats, there was an equally hot debate about whether one should consider time consumption when determining difficulty of a plat. Games like Star Ocean 4 were dismissed by the elites as being very easy, but "merely time consuming". Hell, to this day, another trophy site reminds difficulty voters that "time does not equal difficulty". Well, to counter this mindset, I present Gonner. This game is quite difficult, and were it a little longer, it would likely be a really rare plat. However, the game itself is about 20 minutes long. No fooling. And here's the thing: you can have a lucky run in a 20-minute game. I know, because I did. In fact, getting this plat was remarkably strange to me. for my first 7 or 8 playthroughs, I couldn't even get close to the final boss. But then I did. And I beat him, first time. And apparently, I beat him without continuing, and unlocked a bunch of other stuff at the same time. And then, I got a 100-hit combo soon thereafter. And that was it. I won't pretend that I didn't look at a guide regarding some of the trophies with more esoteric descriptions. But when it came to the bulk of trophies (story-based, combo-based, boss-based, etc.), I got all of these without really trying. Is this game hard? You bet. But it's so short that the plat ends up being a big joke at the end of the day. That being said, it's still a pretty good game, and it's positively great for $.99. Boring trophy tiles, though. Plat #418: My Name is Mayo 2 My Name is Mayo - the Second! High Cholesterol, High Reward. There's probably little point in going on about My Name is Mayo 2. It's a game that's reviled by many. I'm not one of them, but when it comes down to it...I'm disappointed. The stories are not really as amusing as in the first game (though I did like the one about the pizza delivery). The promised mini-games fail to deliver much as well, and that's a shame. A Flappy Mayo game would have been awesome (how many people still bitch about Flappy Goat?). Further, as far as I can tell, there are no leaderboards for those mini-games (and while you may laugh, there IS a leaderboard for clicking). I do like the trophy tiles, and I do like the album that comes in-game. But comparing this $.99 title with others...isn't really fair, because this game is $.99 full price. But I'm going to do it anyway, and say that it's disappointing.

Popular Post Reece_Bullet
- LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues The Holy Grail, Dr. Jones All trophies unlocked I haven't played a LEGO game since the Wii was a current-gen console, and I really enjoyed it! Due to the style the LEGO games use, it has aged really well! The controls get some rightful complaints, but the last time I played this was using the Wiimote... needless to say, other than vehicles, the controls were infinitely better. Overall a really relaxed platinum, where even the collectables didn't feel like a grind. Replaying the entire game again via Quick Play is a strange requirement as the only change is the ability to choose any character you've unlocked, but it only took 3/4 hours so it isn't too bad! Popular Post Conor
#82- DAY OF THE TENTACLE REMASTERED (PS4) OCD Fun: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Time Taken: 2 Hours and 24 Minutes Rarity: 8.4% Very Rare (PSN) / 37.38% Uncommon (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Music Appreciation Award- Reach yesterday without turning the stereo off I haven't played too many of these "classic" point and click games since they all pretty much passed me by on account of my being too young and too into stuff like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. They just didn't really register on my radar, but the beauty of getting older is that you can always look back when you expand your palette and want to try new-ish experiences. I had never even played the predecessor Maniac Mansion until the small bit you have to play through it this game, and it was so clunky I didn't go any further than I had to and just watched it on YouTube to see the rest. Mind you, I really enjoyed this one and it's certainly worth a go. Evil Purple Tentacle has grown limbs and is cloning himself to conquer the world, so the troublesome trio of Hoagie, Laverne and Bernard must go back to yesterday to stop him, only for several mishaps to cause the heroes to end up scattered through time, all centred around the same hotel housing the lab of Dr. Fred. In the past, Hoagie meets the Founding Fathers. In the future, Laverne negotiates a Tentacle-conquered world to escape imprisonment, all the while Bernard must get his friends back to the present day in order to hatch their plan and halt Purple's army before it even exists. You point, you click, you solve puzzles and you flush items back and forwards through time in order to get everyone home and save the day. Nothing too taxing but a good bit of fun, with some good humour and interesting characters. A quick but entertaining platinum and almost 60 easy trophies to boost your score. This was my second Halloween platinum, earned on the same day as I did Far Cry Classic, and overall I actually enjoyed this a lot more- this is how you do a port, not Ubisoft's half-assed effort to bring Crytek's classic to consoles.

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #561: Difficulty: 4.5/10 Playtime: 40-50 hours Enjoyment: 7/10 Oh boy, it's time to do a wrestling again! I wasn't really planning to do 2K20... I don't know, something about a game being so poorly reviewed that it effectively forces your series into hiatus doesn't tend to fill a guy with optimism. But on the last opening day of our local GameStop I got this thing for the price of half a Quarter Pounder (funnily, the McDonalds next door would follow GS into OBSOLESCENCE a little over half a year later), so eh. The servers for 2K19 shutting down didn't help none either. Could it really be the unholy abomination as described by every review outlet under the sun? Well... no. No, it's not. Don't know if they've done a good job patching it post-release or whatever, but I had a largely smooth ride, free of faceless Becky Lynches (I'd welcome this iconic glitch if it were Charlotte instead, for obvious reasons). It felt more like business as usual, which is a whole other problem unto itself, and an equally good reason enough to take a step back and re-evaluate your product. The dev team just have a terminal case of bad priorities, focusing more on chucking more and more characters and extraneous content in there than honing the core experience... hell, just making sure 78% of your needlessly bloated roster didn't have Shayna Baszler hairlines, moist seaweed hair, or both, would be an improvement. The extent of their forward-thinking ambition doesn't reach further than an unneeded control scheme switchup that never feels 100% comfortable even after you've made your muscle memory do the job. Don't fix what ain't BROKEN, especially when there's plenty of the latter. Where 2K20 truly excels on its own merits is in its surprisingly involving MyCareer mode, whose heady mix of sharp-ish writing and a winsome goofy countenance proved more consistently entertaining than WWE's actual product in 2019. Being the story of two childhood friends and their shared dream of making it in the business, it contains some deftly executed and measured story beats that lean into fanservice only when necessary. Bionic Samoa Joe is the best video game villain of 2019, and I'm not even being that sarcastic. This is easily one of the best story modes in any wrestling game ever... that does not always denote stiff competition, mind, but even so, this is a keeper. The other "story" based elements like the Four Horsewomen Showcase and Roman Reigns Tower Challenge Thingy are pretty good, too, if slightly rote and uninspired. Again though, commenting on missed potential in a 2K game is a bit like endlessly reiterating the blueness of the sky, or extolling the nonexistent virtues of Kenny Olivier... it's just a waste of everyone's time, pal. Really though, my main reason for giving it a go was for the Hunt. Being on paper the easiest WWE platinum chase since the WrestleMania game, I made up my mind to see how fast I could get it done... and wouldn't you know who (almost) won the pony? Moreover, I consider myself the moral #1 spot here, since it really isn't possible to do it in less than three days unless you really disregard your own health, and that's where I draw the line. That's right; I am The Man. A total cakewalk compared to 2K19 in every way... though that may well be due to how I had to learn every exploit in the book for that one; the selfsame skillset that spurred me on to a mostly flawless victory here. I couldn't even get one match rolling through matchmaking, so I had to settle for grinding out CPU victories online, which sounds redundant in and out of context. Really, your biggest obstacle will be the incessant loading screens. It's a bit hilarious cashing in the plat with a gold trophy named "A Good Year" considering that's the least appropriate way to describe 2020 possibly ever, but there you have it. Ultimately, if you don't already own the largely superior 2K19 or a whole host of other, better, wrestling games, I would recommend this. Much better than I was led to believe, but sadly, only to a point. We can only hope this year off for the franchise (and no, that overpriced Battlegrounds bollix dinnae count) may well give 2K time to reassess their situation and move forward. But much like the WWE and its frustrating holding patterns, it may well be just another false dawn signaling an illusory sea change. Time will tell.
Popular Post Conor
#83- WATCH DOGS (PS3) 100% Clear Fun: 3/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Time Taken: 11 months, 3 weeks, 5 days, 23 hours, 34 minutes (50 hours in-game) Rarity: 0.4% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 4.97% Ultra Rare (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Freeware- Unlock every skill in the skill tree "Everything is connected, and I'll use that to expose, to protect, and if necessary - to punish..." We all remember where we were the day we saw that presentation at E3 in 2012. Minds were blown, this game looked amazing and innovative, a real game-changer in the industry that would be influential and talked about for years to come. But, well, we all know what happened there. It was, of course, all bogus, from the visuals right down to the very core concepts of the game itself. Instead of a generation-defining masterpiece, we got a very mediocre GTA clone. The hacking is interesting but not really used to its full potential; the novelty of screwing around with the city systems wore off quite quickly and the missions and story just were not very interesting. Aiden Pearce himself is a very droll and boring protagonist that does little but mope and talk shit while being as fragile as a sheet of glass. I had checked out of the story by the halfway point, but I think that the story is worth about half of the playtime- the rest is made up of the most repetitive grindy side missions (Fixer Contracts, as they are known, and maaaaaaaaaaaan), as well as the marginally better Convoys and Gang Hideouts- no idea why Aiden all of a sudden decides to be all Mother Theresa and let the leaders live in these missions but whatever. I did the online over a year ago in anticipation of a possible server closure that never came to pass. Not too taxing, took me a day or two but it was easy to find other players, as well as use a second console to get the Traced trophy. After that, I just had little motivation to really get in on this besides the obligation of having it incomplete on my trophy list. I'll probably do the campaign at least of the Bad Blood DLC but I have no intention of doing more Fixer Contracts so the 100% is a no-go for me. It's an entirely doable platinum, I didn't even have trouble with the Social Lubricant trophy that so many seem to struggle with- I passed every level on my first attempt- but Christ above was it draining. I'll get around to the PS4 version- for which I have the online done already as well- in about a year or so since I have that incomplete on my list as well, and I really hope the sequels are more enjoyable.
Popular Post erickt123
Back in 2011, I rented around a dozen games, some I actually got eventually like Killzone 3 and Black Ops 1. But then there's others I basically never got around to until this year, and there's still a bit for me to finish. Just this past week, I finished 2 more of these rental games, and they are Spider-Man: Edge of Time and Call of Juarez: The Cartel. I had to buy two copies of Edge of Time because one of them don't work and these copies are pricy unless you find it in a "LOTS OF GAMES" listing on eBay. #65 - Spider-Man: Edge of Time The sequel to Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and man was this a lame game at that. Nothing really ever happens in this game, it's a 6-7 hour button masher with some dull and very repetitive combat. The story was not very good and like I said, it just goes nowhere for the majority of the game, you go from place to place, hear the two Spider-Men bicker at each other, and just beat up more spongy goons. I had no game ruining bugs at least so no trophies glitched on me. That said, having to replay levels just for one golden spider or going through the numerous challenges this game sprinkles in sure does take a while, and it does not help the game is a chore to play through in general. On my Hard playthrough, I just do whatever I can to avoid many of the game's fights, and some levels really just waste your time fighting enemies anyways. So yeah, a pretty unfinished and uninteresting game overall. #66 - Call of Juarez: The Cartel The Cartel is the game in the Call of Juarez series that people don't talk about, and it is not just because it isn't available digitally anymore. There is a lot of bad to cover in this game, but to cut it short, everything about the game is just unpolished. Gameplay is sluggish, framerate is horrible, graphics look blurry, and the online play is barely functional. Now all of the game's trophies besides the co-op stuff can be earned by yourself, so this game doesn't exactly have massive grinds for you to do. That said, there are numerous level specific trophies and "kill x number of things" sprinkled throughout the game so got to keep those in mind. You have to finish this game three times as all three characters and while the game isn't so long, I find this game too boring to even do a second playthrough. In 2015, I done all the single-player stuff, beating the game three times, once on hard, one time making sure I don't kill civilians, pretty tedious stuff. The PvP portion of the game can be done by yourself, so no issues with that. However the co-op is surprisingly the worst thing to do because like I said, the online just barely works. You'll suffer lag often, framerate drops can drop to an absolute 0, you got to make sure you play through a short level with your co-op partners if you don't want to disconnect because someone even has a slight hiccup in internet connectivity. It's not that the co-op trophies are very difficult to do, they can be easy to get with just a bit of coordination, but trying to even play online without much trouble is painful on its own. So basically, do not bother with this game, I am so glad to get this off my list since 2011. Well, guess time for me to move onto LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, well maybe after Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault/Q-Force.
Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#435 - Distraint 2 Hats off to the developer Jesse Makkonen on crafting a sequel that's an even bigger mind f*ck than the first game was. It's a 2D psychological horror point and click game just like the original with some genuinely surprising jump scares and an all round foreboding atmosphere drawn from an effectively used drab looking colour pallete. The puzzles could have been a bit tougher but that's it and it's a shame there was no Vita version this time as it would have looked great on the OLED model just as the original did. Popular Post Mariner1534
#51: Bug Fables - Our job's done! This game was basically custom-made for anyone who liked the first two Paper Mario games and were disappointed with Nintendo taking the series in another direction. The aesthetic and exploration borrow heavily from PM, and combat is very similar, with timed button presses/sequences giving you a boost on offense and defense if you pull them off. It's not overly complex, yet it remains fun and engaging. It even copies the badge system (although renamed as medals) almost exactly from PM, where you can equip various buffs/abilities to your party. The main gameplay difference is that you have a permanent three-member party, as opposed to Mario + one of 6-8 sidekicks. Even though so much of the game is a borderline ripoff, it does it so well that I don't care at all. I also found the "insect society" setting a refreshing take on RPG worlds, plus the game's full of likable characters and amusing dialogue. The plat was a very straightforward "do and collect everything" ordeal with no missables. Once I beat the story, it took me about 5 hours of cleanup and I was done. The game's surprisingly challenging on hard mode (definitely harder than Paper Mario) if you keep it on for better rewards, although you only need it on for seven major bosses (which can be re-fought later if your first victory wasn't on hard). It's certainly possible to figure out some OP medal loadouts and steamroll everything in the game, which is actually really satisfying if you want to go that route. Overall a very fun RPG that does a great job of capturing what made its source of inspiration so great, plus an easily doable trophy list. Popular Post Darghel
#88 Master of Mordor (Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor) Difficulty: can be frustrating at times, but nothing too difficult Time to Complete: around 36 hours (no DLC done) Recommended: until 31st December yes, after that it'll be unobtainable Total Score: 6/10 I'm gonna start with the trophies first since there's not much to say: it has a few annoying ones but overall it was nothing too difficult, perhaps my most complicated one was the pale rider since I had to do it a few times before doing it right. The others involving mind-controlling the uruks took a few tries but again, there isn't much to say as the game is fairly straightforward and there are no missables. With that said, the overall game was very frustrating at times, and I mean VERY frustrating: the controls are completely fucked, a lot of actions require a small channeling that can be easily stopped by a single attack of an uruk (and you'll hardly fight alone), the game never felt was doing what I wanted and it wasn't uncommon for me to do things I didn't want to, like accidentally falling down instead of stealth branding, jumping down instead of jumping forward, and of course most attacks were hard to pull because of the above-mentioned channeling... ...I'm sorry but I just really got frustrated because of this: trying to brand warchiefs was painful because they were never alone (even when I killed every-single-Uruk in the area), and trying to do even the most basic branding took forever because I could be interrupted with a single attack. Combat branding didn't work on them, and it was thankfully (THANKFULLY) the only branding that was having I-frames, same for the executions and the aoe. I mean for crying out loud, even the basic execution on the ground required a small channeling (that was even shorter when upgraded) and STILL got interrupted! It was hilarious to see the same uruk getting stabbed in the throat twice or thrice and STILL live because the channeling got interrupted. And the enemies...oh dear Lord (of the Rings), the enemies were frustrating as well: the basic grunt wasn't a problem besides constantly interrupting you for any attack, but the berserker was a pain due to how he could constantly counter my attacks and the only difference from a regular grunt was that they had 2 weapons...yeah, of course, I'll notice the dual-wielding uruk, which is exactly the same as the quadrillion others around me, as I get my ass countered and potentially die! The shield users were easier to spot but because of the easy to interrupt way the game makes me play I was forced to essentially use the shadow shot to instantly kill them so that I could at least breathe, since I can't counter them and I can only hit them from behind...but again, with an octillion uruks around me, how the fuck was I supposed to hit them when literally anything interrupts my chain and combo (which are required to do essentially any special attack). And there's so much more I could say...like how side missions don't allow you to restart, forcing you to walk back every-single-freaking-time to restart, how energy is restored only by going for the herbs (i never really found any good rune that heals me during combat, only through stealth...) how the story felt a bit meh in the end (i forgot it was a revenge story halfway through, cause the plot stops completely until you're back in Udun) and so much more... Let me be perfectly honest: I had fun when the game was allowing me to actually play properly, and managing to kill the urusk easier was a blessing and I was starting to have fun, stealth kills were easier to pull off, branding was fun, and the better and improved bow was good...but there are so many little flaws that keep piling up, and at one point I was tired and frustrating of the massive big pile of problems. Maybe I'm only one who will dislike this game, but I will say that if I didn't get shadow of war for free through psn, and decided to try this out fo curiosity, i'd probably never have played it. Maybe you'll like it more than me but to me, this game is flawed and it makes me wish I was playing anything else, like Horizon. It's a decent game though, I'd highly recommend it, but due to the online shutdown in december I highly recommend doing it now, since there's only one online trophy and once the online is gone it's game over.
Popular Post Puppeter04
no 55 - Middle Earth - Shadow of Mordor Difficulty: 5/10 Time: 25-30h Fun: 7/10 I agree with the post above, it can be frustrating some times but in general quite decent. I personally liked it, the good thing is that, unlike AC, you don't have to look for a ledge to keep climbing, Talion is a 4x4 The worst trophy for me was getting the lvl 25 rune, I didn't stop getting epic ones, even without the death threat Gameplay was good, the side quests are kind repetitive (especially those of freeing slaves) the other ones not so much Maybe controls take time to get used to because you can do a lot of diff movements but easy I know I'm very bad at giving my opinion on something so this is what it is Next stop: Kingdom Hearts 1.5 FM (yep, I've finally decided to plat this), in honor of my mother (she's not dead), her favorite PS2 game, and one of mine Edited November 24, 2020 by Puppeter04

Platinum Difficulty - 4/10 Game Rating - 10/10 And so begins a journey of what I'm sure will be many PlayStation 5 platinums to come over many years and what a way to start it off within a week of it's launch. Sony have really outdone themselves with this decision to include such a fun 8-10 hour platformer completely for free for everyone who buys a PS5. It was such a trip to go through the entirety of PlayStation's history and to relive so many memories having been a loyal PlayStation player since 1998. To find all the easter eggs and references was an utter joy. The game itself isn't half bad either. It may not be the deepest game ever made, but that's not the point here. It really is a fantastic showcase of all the new console's features, such as the beautiful graphics and performance, the lighting fast and genuinely impressive SSD (that song in this game is amazing) and of course, the DualSense. The new controller really has to be played to be believed. The sensitivity and accuracy of the haptic feedback is very impressive as is the adaptive triggers, which is a genuine workout or your fingers haha. I can't wait to see how developers utilize this technology in future releases, there's a world of potential with all of the new features. With this game, I have also now earned at least 1 plat on all 4 possible PS platforms at the time of writing, maybe with the exception of PS VR I guess, might look into getting one if they go relatively cheap. Hope everyone out there is enjoying their PS5's, we all need some happiness in 2020! Edited November 24, 2020 by SirDave1988
