Popular Post KenjiCBZ
#79: Sly 2: Band of Thieves Unlikely bandit (55.73% - Common) Unlock all Sly Cooper and the Band of Thieves Trophies According to the in-game time tracker, it took me 17 hours to plat. A very good game, I had a lot of fun with it and I think it's much better than the already good Sly 1: the Platinum being that common, even more than the Sly 1 Platinum that I think is slightly easier, is proof of how good this game is. I think that the free roaming gameplay with Episodes fits Sly better than the Sly 1 gameplay with split levels and keys to unlock them: that kind of gameplay reminded me a bit of Jak 2 and 3. A couple of things I did not like is that a couple of times the paths to reach the required objective were a bit too tricky, and I had to check YouTube videos to know where to go. I think a map would have been a welcomed feature, just like in Jak 2 and 3. But obviously, this doesn't take anything away from this great game. In few days, Sly 3 will be next! Popular Post Shivora
Platinum 169: Scarlet Nexus (PS5) Woven Red Threads - 27,49% (Uncommon) Fun levels: Story 9/10 Gameplay 10/10 Soundtrack 10/10 This is my first post in this thread and I'd like it to signify my devotion to reforming my gaming habits: no more games just for trophies and no more starting new games before I finish the current ones. I'm also compiling my own Awesome Mix of gaming soundtracks, going through every song I find on Youtube for my latest finished game and I'll note down the additions here, maybe someone will find this useful. Story: In Scarlet Nexus, you'll get to experience a futuristic, post-apocalyptic tale that revolves around people trying to build a new world from the ruins of the old one. A mysterious and endless army of brain-eating beasts called the Others stand in their way of achieving this. In this future, many people are born with various powers (Psychokinesis, telepathy, invisibility etc. - the usual suspects) and they can connect their brains to communicate or use each other's power for a limited time. The story is told from the viewpoints of two new soldiers joining the OSF (the military specialized in fighting Others) with the same power (psychokinesis) but different fighting styles: Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall. Their paths cross often and you have to play through both to get the platinum. The two stories (and playstyles) are different enough to not feel like repetition and the second playthrough also went like a breeze thankfully. My first playthrough was with Kasane, but in the end I felt like the developers/writers softly intended Yuito to be the first one, this is mostly based on how clearly the story was told, at times I had trouble piecing together all the wacky and crazy lore when playing with Kasane - with Yuito it felt more structured. This could also be because that was the second time I heard everything . This is also the only point where I'd give the advantage to Yuito over Kasane. Yuito's backstory and personality is your basic good guy protagonist, while Kasane is more interesting and goes through more character development. Also, both heroes will have their team of 4 companions and I liked Kasane's platoon much more - both personality and power-wise. Mainly because Kasane had Arashi "Run youngster!" Spring - the lazy troll nerd girl with a chainsaw, who was my favorite and Yuito had Luka "Beautiful boy in uncomfortably short pants" Travers. I never skip cutscenes, but it was REALLY hard when I was doing his bond episodes. A shoutout to the Other designs, you have to see them to believe them. Gameplay: The best part of the game probably, it got me hooked way before the story did. Yuito fights close ranged with a katana, while Kasane is mid-range with throwing knives and a lot more aerial combat options, which also gives her much more flexibility. Some enemies were just a pain to fight with Yuito, while I never felt like that with Kasane. There are so many systems, especially revolving around using your companions' powers, the game is probably not long enough to try out everything. You can create some crazy fun combos using your main weapons on ground, in air, using psychokinesis, adding your companion's combo attacks, it's like a beautiful ballet of destroying hostile brain-eating toasters and flower vases with everyday urban infrastructure. My favorite was chaining Tsugumi's and Shiden's combo into an endless flurry of ground and air attacks. Most of my deaths were because I just preferred to keep my combo going instead of dodging. The only part of the combat that didn't 100% vibe with me was the very OP Brain Field, stealing the top YT comment from the respective track: "while I like Brain Field from a lore standpoint, using it in-game feels less like an awesome super mode and more like "I don't feel like dealing with this specific group of enemies" button." This is exactly how I used it, never on bosses because it would have made them a joke. I played on normal, which I think is a fair challenge, it keeps you on your toes without being frustrating. Best moment of the game for me: When you realize why Yuito knows Kasane's face already when they first meet. Also, when you see a bus, PRESS L2. And the intro when you start the game. And a lot more. Please make this a franchise. Worst part of the game: Luka. Awesome Mix additions: 1. The final boss theme: Spoiler both Phase 1 and 2 - Karen Travers Battle Theme & Karen Travers Battle Theme -the other- (Doll Phase) 2. Both protagonist's unique boss themes: Spoiler Melone Twins Battle Theme Final Battle - Nagi Karman/Nagi Second Boss Fight OST 3. Incompatible thoughts - Spoiler Usually plays when Yuito and Kasane fight each other 4. Dream in Drive - The main theme 5. The madness inside - Brain Field theme 6. An illusionary city plan - Ambient music in Mizuhagawa Construction Site 7. The OSF - Advancing 8. Grab Your Power By Yourself 9. An Abandoned Highway Dominated by Nature -the other- 10. Human Wisdom [Bridge of Purification] -the other- 11. Stand up to the threat -the other- 12. Togetsu - BABE 13. Suoh - A Sparkling Red Metropolitan 14. A hidden taboo - Ambient music in Research Labs 15. Sumeragi Tomb - Memories -the other- Edited August 14, 2022 by Shivora typo

EmptyZombieFeelz
Stray was #58 plat for me. Loved every minute of it. Looking to get Fall Guys plat soon, but needing to win an episode with a party of 3, is proving harder than I anticipated. Popular Post PooPooBlast
#177 DmC Definitive Edition The DmC reboot developed by Ninja Theory caught a lot of flak for changing how the original Dante and Vergil acted/behaved like and I can definitely see why fans were upset. My boy Vergil decided to be a computer tech wizard/hacker, pulled a John Wick and became deadly with assault rifles, started to use his Yamato as a walking stick and is super friendly in an unsettling way with Dante . Speaking of Dante, my guy had some of the cheesiest dialogue, so cheesy, it got a few chuckles out of me . Apart from these weird quirks, the gameplay and soundtrack were absolutely top notch. Dante has an array of weapons to choose from and everything felt responsive. The Vergil DLC in the definitive edition was also tons of fun. Just like Dante, he was a solid character to control with his own unique powers. And it wouldn't be a DMC game without some stellar tracks so here were some of my favourites! Spoiler Plays in the intro sequence! Appropriately plays against a super ugly fugly boss! Having said all that, the amount of hate the game received makes it sound like it's horrendous which is far far far away from the truth in my opinion. I think people would be doing themselves a disservice if they decide to skip this one. Just don't take the story too seriously, and revel in the fun gameplay and kickass tracks! Overall, I had tons of fun and if somehow this game got its standalone sequel, I'd definitely buy it. Well, onto the next!
Popular Post StraightVege
Platinum #298 1st Fastest Achiever (4 hours, 15 minutes) I rather enjoyed the unique premise of this fanciful adventure. Figment takes place entirely within the mind of a man who recently suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident, falling into a coma as a result. As the personification of the man's inner courage, an imagined warrior named Dusty, it's up to you to expel invasive nightmares from the mind, restore lost memories, and put everything back in its proper place to ultimately rouse the man from unconsciousness. However, because the man long ago gave up on his passions and refused to take risks anymore (stressful adult life will do that to a person), neglected ol' Dusty has grown out of shape and apathetic about the mind's current state of disrepair. It'll take some time to get his confidence and motivation back, but fortunately, he has Piper—an irritatingly upbeat, bird sidekick—to cheer him up and guide him. Throughout the game, you'll explore a gorgeous, surreal world comprised of both painted 2D elements and 3D models, while solving a variety of tricky puzzles, and whacking some enemies with Dusty's wooden sword. Stuff like pushing blocks, swapping differently colored batteries around, and altering the environment by turning crank handles makes up the majority of the gameplay. Dusty can also perform a Link-esque spinning charge attack to defeat multiple foes. Several puzzle ideas are reused until they become somewhat stale, and the combat never poses a challenge, yet the game remains mostly enjoyable nonetheless. It makes excellent use of music, as well; bosses even taunt you with individual songs as you battle them! While these could have been more lyrically creative and flowed better, they still add a lot to the encounters. A quite charming, thought-provoking little game, which doesn't overstay its welcome. Getting something this cool for only a couple of bucks kinda feels like stealing. Just a heads-up, though: it seems that the trophies can glitch in a mildly beneficial way, since several of them unlocked before they were supposed to in my playthrough. This doesn't actually make the game any easier to platinum, but perhaps mentioning it will prevent someone else from feeling as confused as I did.
Popular Post DesmaBR
#181 All Done Unlock all trophies. Here's another Stray platinum, because why not? It's really no surprise why this is so popular, this really is the perfect subscription service game. Before I've played it, I was sure that this was not a game I would pay money for it. And honestly, after playing it... I still wouldn't. But hey, "free" for my PS+ Extra subscription, why not? I can give it a try. And y'know, it's all right. I would prefer if that robot thing wasn't there, and the game didn't have any dialogue. As it is, it feels like they made a cat game, but they realized that they didn't have anything to do, so they just whipped out... whatever. But hey, it's inoffensive, easy and "free". What's not to love?

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #237 Stray [PS5] All Done Unlock all trophies. Could have given us a cute cat platinum image... the game was good. I think if not for being novelty with "you're a cat!" it wouldn't have the popularity it does. It's not that it's bad, it's just very undercooked. Stealth is very minimal, the boxes you hide in are largely useless and don't serve any real function other than one required moment to enter a building. Well, two actually now that I think about it. But in terms of core gameplay stealth there's no reason for them. Half of them aren't even in the line of sight of enemies to begin with. The flashlight is needed like one time, twice if you count one dark room with a memory. Then the purple light that kills the things breaks as soon as you get it basically so it's pointless. There's just a lot of ideas that don't go anywhere really. And personally I wish the movement worked better. I understand why it doesn't act like a real 3D platform in how you get around, but the way it works is so clunky and stiff that I don't feel like a cat getting around in those moments. I wish it flowed more like traversal in something like Assassin's Creed. The music is really good, graphics overall are good but the cat's facial movements are not great. And my goodness no skippable cutscenes should be a crime against humanity. And skipping dialog is also made annoying by them making progressing through the dialog the square button, but to end the conversation at the end it's circle. So you can't just mash through mindlessly or you'll get stuck. Making it tedious to replay through. I doubt I'd platinum it again on PS4 due to these things and that annoying avoid the enemies trophy. It's a fun game, and I'm glad I played it, just can see a lot of room for improvement. Like a scratch tracker on chapter select........ I do like that the collectibles ended up adding to the lore and I liked the unlocked backpack you get. And the badges adding to your backpack was cute. Edited July 31, 2022 by Elvick_
