Popular Post Sigma999
# 73 - Ratchet Deadlocked ( Gladiator in EU) Really fun game that people seem to neglect cause it's a spin-off of the series , although not as good as the original trilogy on PS2 like this one is from the same system. Had loads of fun going for this plat as i don't feel much trophy hunting spirit for a good time and now tend to stick with what i really feel like to plat and not pushing through a game just cause i need to have that plat trophy to feel like a completionist, which i am not, in fact. If you are a fan of Ratchet & Clank, i recommend this one for a good challenge and nice time spent having what is most important out of games , the fun factor.

ToastdCoconutBoy
I cannot believe how hard Crash Bandicoot 2 was to plat. I started on Crash 3 cuz that was the one I played the most as a kid, and it was a fairly easy platinum. I died more times on certain levels in Crash 2 than I did in the entirety of Crash 3. Popular Post TheMutilatingOne
#20 - Mad Max 100 Hours for plat, the best vehicular combat in a game since Twisted Metal as far as I'm concerned. Been a huge fan of the series so having this is an honor. Fs in the chat for those that didn't finish the "A Penny Saved" and "Dividend" challenges before the servers shut down. Awesome story, a bit bogged down with collectibles but it's a Warner Bros game so they love their AGLs. The skybox is gorgeous, best clouds and sky I've seen in a game ever. Getting that V8 engine and plowing through everything in my path was so damn satisfying. (P.S. Short-haired scruffy Max best Max.) Popular Post Jake-TheGreat97
#89 Resident Evil 3 Really enjoyed this game. While I don't think it's as good as RE2 Remake or even RE7, I still think it's worth playing. I also found it cathartic playing though the game on the highest difficulties with an infinite rocket launcher. However, by the time I started my Inferno playthrough (which was my 5th playthrough) I was definitely ready to be done with the game. The only real issue with the game is that it's really short. However, since I bought this game when it was on sale for $20 it wasn't much of an issue for me.
Popular Post DoctorGameGeek
#22 (10th in the time of COVID-19): Metal Slug XX Difficulty: 10 / 10 The controls feel insanely throwback. You can jump, throw grenades, and shoot. Some guns allow a full directional range of fire; most, including the trusty sidearm, do not. You can jump up, back, and forward with only a bit of room for manueverability. More often than not, you have to shoot your way through the hordes and pray that your hitbox is aligned just off enough to dodge bullets of all speeds and sizes. What the Slugs give you in firepower take away in agility; and again, though you get a few hits, that you can duck and dodge your way through the levels. And unless you have a guide handy or played previous Metal Slug games (not me), you would not necessarily know which characters are best suited for gameplay. I found out by happy accident that Ralf can take two shots before he loses a life but knew nothing else about the cast. It isn't the story mode that's troublesome; you can earn the majority of trophies playing in Beginner mode, which will still require you to die and continue multiple times. It's that, for me, I'm so far removed from gameplay like this -- think original Contra minus the Konami Code -- that it was easy to get utterly defeated when I started working through the Combat School. No, I'm serious. I'm talking full-on Kübler-Ross stages of grief applied to a video game, like: DENIAL: There's no way this game is this hard. It must be a trick. ? ANGER: *headbutts wall every time I get killed by a stray single bullet* ? BARGAINING: I swear I'll quit playing video games if I can get this A-rank. ? DEPRESSION: *looks up cheat/hack codes for MS XXX in vain* ? ACCEPTANCE: It's cool. I'll just delete this game from my trophy list and pretend it never happened. ? And I survived Enter the Gungeon! The point is, the only way you're getting through this is with an endless amount of patience. And coffee. And hard liquor if you're old enough to drink! Enjoyment: 2 / 10 This is painful to admit. I initially saw the title and thought I wanted some old-school shoot-'em-up goodness. I did! The graphics looked inviting. Blasting down the enemy hordes looked like a good time from afar. Dying a few times was nothing. Dying a lot was something. Needing more than 10 continues on Beginner mode was humiliating. The messed up part is that as good as it feels to get through a challenging mission, you're right back to the anger-bargaining-depression cycle until you memorize and acquire enough muscle memory to get through the next stage. Even then, one quirky hand jerk or analog stick pull in the wrong direction can mean instant death. I need to wrap this up by giving shout-outs to some super helpful people.Banden for jaw-dropping gameplay inspiration Kyoiceberg_ and :flop: for gameplay video Distant_Rainbow's guide with more detailed instructions for Combat School

Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #77 - New Little King's Story Kingiest King EVER - You fulfilled ALL accomplishments in the kingdom! 35,298 Owners - 2,871 Achievers for a percentage of 8.13% (average completion; 53.59%) Enjoyment; 7/10 Difficulty; 2/10 Trophies; 5/10 (only four tiles, unimaginative requirements, but a decent theme) Romantic interests among female characters; 8/10 The first Platinum of 2021 for me, and on my dear Vita to boot - yeah, I'm happy with this one even if it's 'only' Very Rare. Released in the autumn of 2012 exclusively for the Sony's soon-to-be-dead handheld, New Little King's Story saw Konami borrow the IP from original publishers Marvelous AQL to develop a reimagined version of the cult hit Little King's Story - which at that point was still exclusive to the Wii and had been developed by already-shuttered Japanese developer Cinq. Quite how this business arrangement came to be is unknown, but Konami reworked the game to include a slightly remixed story with an anime aesthetic rather than the cutesy cartoony look of the original. You play as a young king with the default name of Corobo (which you can change as you like), who sees his castle besieged and his land robbed from him on the night of a banquet in which he hosted seven princesses. Forced to retreat with a few allies, the king is forced to build a new castle and train up people to form a mighty army capable of retaking his ill-gotten gains (he is a king after all, and a monarchy is a bizarre form of rule). Taking control of this royal runt, the player is treated to what is essentially a gameplay loop lifted from Pikmin, with the king's humble subjects used as cannon fodder as he commands them to fight the local wildlife and a slew of minibosses. There are 23 'jobs' available to the citizens, all of which give them different abilities in combat and in the field. Soldiers hit hard but can't dig up treasure, while farmers don't pack a punch but do quickly excavate the soil. Animal hunters provide ranged attacking options whilst carpenters create bridges and stairs to overcome geographical challenges. It is up to the player to balance these roles and ensure the safety of the up to 30 citizens you can bring along in the world, carefully offsetting a diverse range of field abilities with damage output. Each princess you free also comes with a unique buff, but you can only bring one with you at a time. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this title across the 12 hours or so that you can expect to need for an initial blind playthrough. The story was endearing enough and you always experience a good sense of progression. That being said, the journey to Platinum is not entirely ideal; you need to collect and unlock everything, which is sometimes down to painful RNG odds, and I personally had a glitch that ****ed me out of Wig-out King, which requires you to gather twenty different masks but only unlocked for me upon the discovery of my 24th. By that time I had done an almost full second run of the game, lifting me up to about 20 hours of gameplay plus another 25 hours or so of rubberbanding the Vita to increase the affection level of each princess. I also had to let the Vita sit on sleep mode for multiple days to beat the RNG odds required to conjure up vital items via alchemy, which really isn't the ideal gaming experience if you ask me. But alas, I persevered and managed to get through it all. Despite these little niggles, I'd still say that New Little King's Story is very much worth a playthrough, and even more so if you don't really care about the Plat. The experience contained within is not replicated by any other game on the Playstation family of platforms as far as I know, and is worth seeing for yourself. That being said, the game has been delisted from the PSN store for a few years now (ostensibly because Konami didn't renew the license with Marvelous) so you will need to hunt down a physical copy or pull it from PS Plus if you were a subscriber in September 2013 when it was the monthly free game for the Vita. Honestly though, I think it's worth the effort. Especially if you love the word 'king', because 27 of the 50 Trophies on this list include it in their name. I'll have another Vita recommendation for you all with the next Plat. Edited January 19, 2021 by Golem25
Popular Post Hannelore_87
#1 Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition True Survivor Unlock every Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition trophy. First of all, I'm going to be honest and say that this is a secondary account. I'm Layana_87 or @Carol here on the forums, so some of you may already know me. I had to create this US account to redeem the PSN code that I won from B1rvine's giveaway, so I thought "Now, that I have this new account, why not use it to replay my all-time favourite games and maybe earn some trophies again?". I decided to start with Tomb Raider. I don't like boosting, so I thought this platinum would be hard to earn legit nowadays, due to the lack of people playing the MP. Turns out, I was wrong. I don't know if it's because of the pandemic and more people being at home, but there are actually more people playing this MP now than 5 years ago, when I completed this game for the first time on my main account. Therefore, I could easily earn all the online trophies and I knew this platinum would be mine for the third time. I absolutely love this game's campaign and I honestly think this is one of the greatest action-adventure games ever made. There are fantastic moments full of action and the open-world is so awesome, with very interesting collectibles. Lara is very brave and the reboot of her story is epic. I also think this game's trophy list really adds to the experience. I have so much fun doing everything and earning trophies in this game. No wonder this was my third time (once on PS3 and twice on PS4) completing this trophy list.

Guest
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Although the remake of the original is my favorite R&C game, I consider this one (probably) the best one. Pros: -As with the other two in the trilogy, it still looks pretty good. And again, certain worlds are still gorgeous. -The gameplay is still very fun, and this one has more diversity in the base gameplay; even if it ultimately boils down to shooting enemies. -Referring to the diversity, this one changes up enough stuff from world-to-world to consistently remain entertaining. The base of the franchise is still here: go to new planet, do objective. But the worlds, for the most part, are different from one another. Most of the worlds don't feel like bland, pointless filler like the previous two. I know the Going Commando was in production before the first R&C game even came out so there wasn't a great amount of room for changing up too much because they didn't know exactly what people would love and hate yet, but you can absolutely see that they nailed almost everything on the third go. -While I can't comment on the multiplayer because I never played it, but the tutorial of it within the story itself (at least I was told certain missions were basically sneakily-placed tutorials for the multiplayer) seemed very fun. They seemed like basically defend-the-base or attack-the-base type of gameplay, but that's just basic enough to be suitable for everyone to at least understand what they should be doing. -The Titanium bolts are cleverly hidden and fun to find (I assume, I used a guide for most of them), along with the skill points being mostly enjoyable to do (apart from one I'll talk about). -I still think Dr. Nefarious is the best R&C villain, if not overall character tied with Captain Quark. So much better than generic-evil-business-man from the first game, and whoever the hell was the villain of the second. Cons: -Both of my cons are minor gripes that are more personal issues I had with the game more than anything. Firstly, the collecting 101 sewer crystals skill point/trophy nearly caved my head in. Mainly because 101 is too many for one collectible, sewer levels are always the worst and that's especially so in this one because it's a topsy-turvy level (all halls are circular and you can walk on said walls) where my motion sickness went into full gear and caused such an aggressive headache I had to bulldoze through this part before I genuinely died. In going Commando, two of the most annoying things to do in the game was collect 101 items on two separate occasions (I believe one was 100) and it was terrible, so I have no idea why they brought this back. Luckily you only had to do it once. -Secondly, the Quarktastic final challenge drove me to near clinical levels of insanity. It's 100 rounds, and it tests your patience more than your skill. I died the first two times I tired, which was fair enough. Third time I got to about round 70 with nearly full health, I look away from my tv for less than 2 seconds, look back and I'm dead. There are no one-shot deaths in the challenge, even if you fall off you edge you just take 1 damage. I don't know if this glitched or what, but I was agitated. Next try I got to about round 60/61, and the game completely glitched. Enemies stopped spawning completely and I had to reset. I eventually got it and felt more relieved it was over than accomplished that I beat it. Neither of these cons are anything major. TL;DR: Arguably the best R&C game, and a wonderful end to an iconic trilogy. Cannot wait for Rift Apart. Popular Post Sofa King
149: Skater XL I started skateboarding when I was 11 or 12 and did so up until about 5 years ago. Old age, knee surgery, and raising a family finally ended it for me. Thankfully around the time I started skating less EA gave us the Skate series. Finally a game about skating that felt like actually skating and I played the hell out of them. I grew up with THPS, but Skate was perfect to me and catered to the realism and simulation that wasn't really there in the Birdman's games. Then EA pulled the plug on the series and all that was left were rumors and hopes for a Skate 4 one day. Now it seems skateboarding games are making a comeback. I haven't played it yet but THPS remastered looks amazing and I've heard good things. There's also Session down the pike, a sim more akin to the Skate series. But I'm here to talk about Easy Day Studio's offering to the sim skate world, Skater XL. At first the control scheme is very hard to get used to. Rather than turning with the left stick you use the R2 and L2 triggers, while the sticks correspond to your front foot and back foot. That took a few hours to get used to. Once I did adjust I loved it. Much more responsive and intuitive than Skate, I thought. Tricks take more timing and finesse, there's no magnetism to ledges and rails like Skate, which made the game feel even more realistic. Gameplay is the highlight of Skater XL in my view. But then.... the not so great parts of the game, in list form. 1) Few maps and character customizations (in fairness, recent and future updates with mods from the PC community are addressing that) 2) A LOT of glitches, like falling through the map, freezes, and blurriness. Especially the wheels. 3) No ability to get off your board. You can set markers, but it's not the same 4) No stat mods or difficulty settings. Skate 3 had hardcore settings to lessen gravity and make it more realistic. Skater XL is like skateboarding on the Moon in comparison. 5) The "Around the World" trophy. 40,075 km in game. I used a glitch in one map and ran it overnight for about a week on top of regularly playing almost 5 months for this trophy. Not bad but the remaing trophies in the game can be achieved in a few hours. Pretty sure this was intentional to troll trophy hunters, since the plat is "Trophy Hunter". The PC version of this game is its core community and the superior version. The console version is as vanilla as it gets, but hopefully as I mentioned before it'll improve with updates. Honestly unless you are/where a skateboarder there isn't much to interest the average gamer here, and the $40 regular price is a bit steep for what you get for it. Despite it flaws I enjoyed it, but now that I have the plat I think I'll wait for the game to be updated more before I go fakeskating for now. Popular Post BlackSnake1435
Platinum #53 Final Fantasy VII Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoy: 10/10 I never played any ff game until Final Fantasy XIII, which is according to many fans of this franchise one of the weakest, considering how linear playability is. They very often mentined how great FFVII was, so I decided to try it out. I don't regret I did it, it was a fantastic experience even today. Aeris death was by far one of the saddest moments in the game, and you actually get to like all of the main characters even though the game is quite old for today's standards. Perhaps I would take a look to the remake as well, but with all that said, this game is a "must play" for all veteran ps1 players who haven't started with the final fantasy series yet. guy_flies
"No Path Untraveled" from 'The Pathless' Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 3/10 I enjoyed the puzzles in the game, but I wouldn't recommend it. The PS5 announcement trailer made it look quite action heavy. But there's actually very little combat. It's almost all exploration and puzzle solving. The exploration I didn't enjoy as there's no HUD or fast travel (so getting around can be cumbersome and at least half of my playtime was crossing the overworld). And for most of the time the game world was unattractive. Until you beat the boss in every zone the world is under a dark cloud so everything looks grey and miserable. There were moments of remarkable art, like when you face the bosses and everything turns to red and flame. I've seen some reviews highlight the story. But there's actually very little story, and very little dialogue. What we did get was a little tropey (dark curse, corrupted God figures needing to be saved, lone hunter and a villain wanting to be a God himself). There was a big plot hole that occured twice, with the villain having the chance to kill you (and wanting to) but choosing to leave you alive for some inexplicable reason and send a minion after you later. The second time in particular you briefly fight him and can't do any damage, but still he flies off. As for the platinum you can finish it without backtracking if you search everything first time. Do all the puzzles and view all the orb messages in each zone as you progress and you'll have popped every trophy by the time you hit the credits. Progressing in combat is easy. You can't die and if you take too much damage it just boots you out of the arena and you can come straight back in. I don't regret my time with the game but I won't revisit it.
Popular Post DesmaBR
Platinum #124 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Acquired all trophies! I remember a few years ago, when I played Odin Sphere on PS4. Most people praise the gameplay and graphics of that game, but one thing that stuck out to me was the writing. That game had really good writing, every line a character meant something, and the cutscenes were juuuust right, long enough to be enjoyable but short enough to not be distracting. And while the plot of that game kinda falls apart by the end, since they really had to force those characters to those locations because making games that pretty is hard dammit, it was something that really stuck out to me. So the idea of Vanillaware making a visual novel was, while very confusing, very interesting. But not only it's a visual novel, but it's one set in modern times, with mechas and shit. I sure love me some giant robots, but Vanillaware art really shines for fantasy games, and to be honest, this game doesn't prove me otherwise. But despite being something that I would never expect to happen, they really pulled it off ... The story they pulled off. The gameplay is kinda baffling. Like, I get it, how the fuck would they pull off a full on mecha game? This really feels like it was the only way they could pull it off. But maaaaannn. But disappointing as the battles can be, my god, how did they pull off a story this good? It does lack the really out there plot twists of other games like it, but this is way above anything else in terms of gaming. There's always something going on, you never stay 5 minutes without something happening. And even having 13 characters that you can see their stories in any order you'd want, the story still manages to be easily understandable. Because every thing you do, every line of dialogue spoken is relevant, they all have a meaning. And not only in the context of itself, but cutscene will have something to offer you no matter the order you're playing. A cutscene that would contain a very shocking revelation if you played with another character first will still work even if you haven't seen that other character story, and when you go to that character story and see their event, you'll connect the dots and have that same realization you'd have otherwise. How the fuck did this game get made?
Popular Post DesmaBR
Platinum #125 (And trophy 7000) Divine Blade Mastered Trails of Cold Steel IV and earned every trophy. Here it is, the "End of Saga" lol, jk I'll avoid saying too much to avoid spoilers, but you'll definitely like this one if you've played the other ones. It is the weakest of the 4 games, though. There are some very questionable things that happens in this one. But overall, I'm very happy with it. Buuut, I wish there was an epilogue like Cold Steel II's, that would've been the icing on the cake the game needed. Kind of a bummer that they'd left that for Hajimari instead. But hey, that Credits scene makes it all worthy it. Even Kevin was there. And with that, I finally managed to pull off something that I was planning to do ever since I got my Cold Steel II plat 4 years ago. I put all of the CS games on my milestones. Even managed to get CSIV twice there, very proud of myself. It was something that I wanted to do, since I though just having CS1 and 2 there without 3 and 4 would be a bit sad. But not doing that again. Did require me to play a ton of wacky easy plats, since by the time I finished CS4 I had 6500 trophies. Had to play a bunch of easy games with lots of trophies to reach this point, but that was a fun experience. Popular Post Trini
#137 - This War of Mine: The Little Ones (backlog game) This game truly reminds us of the casualties of war and the negative impact it can have on innocents, including children. I first got this game through ps plus back in 2017, but like other games, I never fully immerse myself into it due to other games that got a hold of my interest. I decided to give my attention back to it, and boy, every choice you make not only affects the means of your survival, but it strongly presents a very dark aspect of how people live throughout their daily lives in fear within the very dangers of war. This game requires you to think strategically about how you would like to pursue your day/night cycle venture by acquiring food, craftable items, or anything beneficial to your survivors; If you fail to make smart and/or responsible decisions, there will definitely be consequences which can lead to your survivors likely get killed, starvation, getting sick, or even committing suicide. As it's been said before, It's a very dark take on what I imagine some folks around the world go through when it comes to warfare, it's also a game that, despite the gloomy atmosphere, has a good amount of replayability as well.
Ode2Destruxion
Supraland #24 A really interesting metroidvania game. The puzzles are challenging and take some genuine thought to get through, which is exactly what you want. As per the genre, the progression of the story is dependent on upgrades and finding hidden items. None of this is a chore as in some games - and finding the items are rewarding as some are tough to solve side-puzzles. The game looks good for an indie title and has good movement. The camera angles are sometimes a bit dodgy but when you're trying to jump up cliffs etc. I guess that's to be expected when first-person. For £13 (a few quid off on sale) it kept me entertained and wanting to keep picking up the controller for an amazing 55 hours. Well worth it. 8/10
Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #103 Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 It was about time I played this. I should mention that I never played the original or did I ever heard about it until the remake came out, so it was a new experience for me. What can I say about the game? I enjoyed it a lot, but one thing that I really don't like is that every time you get a game over, you go back to the beginning of the level. Many of them aren't too long, but then there's levels like The Enchanted Earth, where I died during a boss battle, and reaching that point takes about 10 minutes. Of course, once you get better weapons and collect Life Bottles, it gets a lot easier. Also, I had the worst possible luck while exploring The Ant Cave. I defeated the boss as well as completed the chalice quest, but while watching that dialogue, an ant kept attacking me during that, and it eventually killed me. I had to redo that level again, but at least I skipped the dialogue the second time I got to the end. Nice job there, guys. I also played the original a little bit for the first time after unlocking it in the game. It's a great game, but one thing that took me some time to get used to is that the jump button is any other than . I also have to dislike how far the enemies get when you attack them with a sword. These are just some minor complaints. Also, it's a great bonus. Other games should take an example from this. At least CTR NF and Spyro Reignited Trilogy had the option to change the music between the original and remastered. As you can see from the platinum screenshot below, I saved the final boss for last (plus the few trophies that I unlocked in that level). I usually do that whenever it's possible. It's my style. And that's how I experienced it. Overall, it was a great journey. Not only that, but it's a well done remake. Some parts were troublesome, but nothing too challenging.
