Popular Post Deadly_Ha_Ha
#53 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Difficulty - 4/10 Enjoyment - 6/10 I think sometimes you have to admit that what once meant so much to you might just not carry into the present in as glorious a way as you'd like it to. Back 10 years ago to the month I started playing MW3 and it became the pinnacle of the FPS genre for me. I played it more, more seriously, and more competently than any other CoD game or shooter in general. The times I spent with my friends in those days are some of my fondest memories and still to this day I hold this game in very high esteem. I always knew I was going back to this game when I started this account and it just so happens that the opportunity arose on the 7th, one day prior to the 10th anniversary of MW3 so how could I say no? I started with the dlc, which I paid an unacceptable $45 for. It is what it is though, sometimes you have to ante up for a 100% if it means that much to you. Nothing in this game is difficult to do; that's the first thing to note. The dlc Spec Ops are I guess more involved than the base game Spec Ops, maybe, but if for no other reason than because there are misc. trophies that demand more attention than just getting through the missions. You can actually dupe the game into letting one person do the mission on Normal and one do it on Veteran so you can just diffuse the difficulty over two runs of the mission. Or you can both be on Vet, w/e, or you could do it by yourself! There are a few missions that require two players though. Anyway the dlc was simple and quick since you only have 8 missions between 5 dlc lists I think. I then moved on to the campaign, which for my money was the easiest Veteran campaign in the history of the series (that I played). There are dumb exploits in the other games to lower the difficulty to Recruit and get the credit for Veteran, and while that may be present in this game I can safely say I could not imagine a reason to do that. I mean, I can think of a reason - because you can't be arsed - but no game would need that exploit less than this one. The intel is easier to find, the miscellaneous trophies are simpler and fewer I think, but at least the story is just what you'd expect. I think the most frustrating part of the experience is that you have to get yourself to rank 50 in Survival, which is experience combined with what you get from Spec Ops as well. Between the dlc spec ops, the base game spec ops, and the base game Survival maps (I didn't do dlc Survival) you don't get even really that close to rank 50 so you have to grind. I ended up posting up for as many extra rounds on Arkaden as possible since that's a good grind spot with harder enemies for extra experience. You don't even get a trophy for reaching rank 50, you just have to do it because you need to buy items from the shops, some of which only unlock at 50. The game doesn't keep track of what you've purchased so being as thorough in your shop keeping as possible spares you from the frustration I felt of missing the trophy after buying the shop's final unlock. I then embarked on like a 2 hour journey buying everything all over again just hoping any individual thing was the thing I missed. Turns out it was the 1887, which I guess I missed buying because you so often start with those off of the enemies. But picking things up doesn't count for the trophy so /wrist. My memories of this game were largely from multiplayer and that's not what I was doing here. I think the disparity between my lack of enjoyment now compared to how much I loved this game back 8-10 years ago comes from expectations, sure, but also just that nothing I did for the 100% was exactly what I loved doing in this game. And that's ok, this was a long-overdue effort dedicated to the game and it's a very fond part of my account now forever. I can't see that being beaten looking at the games that are older on my list so this will stand as my oldest platinum. I lied... #547 - Saints Row: The Third Time to platinum: 9 years, 7 months (33 hours) I love this series, I've played them all (excluding Mayhem if you count that one). I recently started Saints Row: The Third Remastered and decided to dig out my copy of the original to see how far I was from the platinum as I only needed 3 trophies. Turns out I was really close, only took about an hour or two. Now back to the remaster.
Popular Post madbuk
#440 - Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments I originally played this game via PS+ back in 2015 (it really hasnt felt that long ago... yikes), and I remember liking it a lot, but other than the first case... I really didn't remember any specifics. This came free with the pre-order of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, so I decided to stack it and refresh my memory before jumping into the brand new entry (which I am definitely excited to do, but it wont be immediately after this.) It was interesting, going in I thought I had basically no memory of the game, but as it progressed I began recognizing locations and characters and was able to piece together what came next via memory instead of actually solving it a lot of the time. For the most part I think this is a very solid detective game, it's a bit on the easy side with it almost always informing you what your next step is, but that's ok. The one gripe I have with it really is that the conclusions don't ever really feel "correct". Maybe I'm just dumb, but it feels like the majority of the conclusions you can reach could be correct, but the game only accepts one as being the true canon one and sometimes it felt a bit arbitrary which one it wanted and which it didn't. Overall, this has raised my interest in the prequel even more and I can't wait to jump into it at some point. Hopefully soon.
Popular Post AgentSmiz
Platinum 135 and my 10,000th trophy - Guardians of the Galaxy Unless something else steals the win in the final month, this is my game of the year. Definitely the biggest surprise. The films and their use of music made me a fan of the characters so when this was announced, I was both hyped and cautious for it, after what happened with Avengers. However, 2 week after getting (and being severely disappointed in) Back 4 Blood, I needed something new. I’d not heard anything bad about the game in the run up so gave it a shot. I’m so glad I did. Absolutely looked the world, characters, gameplay and music. When the first song that I heard gave me flashbacks to when I first played Vice City all those years ago, I knew I was in for something special. Decided shortly after that with the 10,000th trophy coming up, it was going to be between GotG and Bloodborne. Whilst BB finally managed to hook me after 7 years, it still didn’t give the level of fun I was having with GotG. The game never felt like a chore. Here’s to the next 10,000 trophies. Popular Post Redgrave
#231: Full House! - The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes Another year, another Dark Pictures game. Instead of a ship or a town like the previous two, this one takes place in Iraq in 2003 which doesn't sound like an ideal horror setting but they managed to make it work. Without saying too much, it does wind up taking place in an underground ruins for the main horror to take place. While it wasn't as creepy as the previous two, I think I like it about as much as Little Hope since I thought the twist was done well and the characters were all really great since they were all soldiers put into a horror situation. With the character interaction and the dialogue it kind of came off like a 2000's Sci-Fi channel movie that I would have watched a long time ago and I couldn't help but wind up liking the campiness of it ? The trophies were pretty similar to the first two games with the exception of there only being a Mind playthrough though, and for Movie Night mode you only have to do the prologue so I guess they kind of eased up on those. Still, it was a pretty enjoyable game and I would once again like to thank @Undead Wolf for playing with me. ? Looking forward to The Devil in Me when that comes out.
Popular Post Gommes_
# 140 Resident Evil 7 + 100% Biosplattered Duration: ~70 hours Difficulty: 7,5/10 That was a tough one. I think I’ve never played a game where the DLCs were that versatile and brutal at the same time. Anyway, starting at the beginning the main game is great and is packed with atmosphere. Especially when the game starts you watch every step you take anticipating something going after you. The house is greatly designed and the same can be said about the family. The gore and horror aspects are amazing but they quickly lose its charm as soon as the old Resident Evil formula kicks in. So at one point in the game you are just overpowered and are able to shoot enemies left and right. It just becomes more action orientated and gets rid of its psychological horror aspects. To be honest it is just scary in the beginning, cause you don’t know what to expect. That 1st person view, the new main characters, the rather small setting and knowing how much PT affected people you just expect something completely different. Only to find out that it is still Resident Evil. However, the game was fun and I had a really good time with it (except the boat section – that felt misplaced and just sucked). Trophy wise the game wanted you to play on the hardest setting for the platinum, which was challenging and at some parts frustrating but totally doable. And then the DLCs took over. I will lay down some of them as I think that they are way too interesting not to mention them: - Daughters Probably the best DLC due to its atmosphere. It takes place before the main story and you play as one of the daughters who has to witness their parents going berserk. You have no weapons and it feels like a creepy version of hide and seek. While in the main game you lose any fear for the antagonists (because of your artillery) here you are afraid all the time, since you are completely helpless and vulnerable. Making sure that they don’t see you while you sneak through the house was just awesome! I wish the main game used that formula as its main mechanic. - Bedroom In the bedroom DLC you are tied up to a bed and your only mission is to flee. So, you have to look for hints in the room one of the main antagonists is keeping you in. However, she will notice anything different so you have to make sure to “tidy up” the room every time she will visit you. Creepy DLC with a great concept. - 21 In that mode you have to play a version of 21 where the winner will live and the loser will, well, die. Extremely fun DLC which is kinda known for its extreme luck you need in order to get all trophies. However, I got pretty lucky and won my first game of 21+ and got all trophies. - Jack's 55th Birthday Now things start to get annoying. Don’t get me wrong that mode was fun as well but boy, was it stressful. Here you have to feed Jack and in order to do so you have to find food in the house which is filled with enemies. Getting a S rank in every stage takes time and filling up that bonus timer over 10 minutes took me way too long. So I replayed one level for like 12 times knowing it inside out but still messing things up… - Ethan Must Die Here you are only equipped with a knife and you have to get to a boss and fight it. Enemies can one shot you and all items are randomly placed which makes this mode totally RNG. It took me like 15 full tries just to finally have one game where I got the Albert and 20 rounds of enhanced ammo which made the boss fight super easy. But relying on that luck besides knowing the route by heart was extremely challenging. - End of Zoe THE hardest DLC of the entire game. That 04/10 rating on this site is a joke. On the hardest setting I couldn’t leave the first area for like 1 hour! Usually 1 hour is enough to beat this whole mode on normal. But on hard things are so brutal and frustrating it drove me insane. In End of Zoe you have nothing but your fists and a shit ton of enemies who eat dozens of punches before they go down. This, the narrow field of view, no automatic saves, a screen which gets bloody when you take hits, a screen which doesn’t let you see things if you are also blocking and that whole placement of enemies was incredibly tough, especially at the beginning of this DLC. I was so glad when I finally made it! To sum it up, the DLCs are amazing (and these are not even all of them)! But only if you want to experience them from a “normal” gaming experience. Going for the trophies is a completely different story. Every DLC was different and almost all of them needed to be played on the hardest setting. So for every DLC you had to adapt to a new mechanic and design. Study it, be lucky and finally get it done eventually. Then you had to forget everything you knew, cause the next DLC gave you another brand new mechanic, so that cycle repeats. And everything had to be on the hardest setting. Some DLC trophies felt like a platinum on their own, at least for me. Resident Evil 7 and all of its addons are an amazing package which will be a tough challenge for the trophy hunters out there. Popular Post Redgrave
#232: Platinum - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Remastered Topping off the Nathan Drake collection is the third game. I feel like this one kind of had a slow start but once it got to the parts in the Middle East I feel like it really picked up and it had a lot of really good levels and setpieces. Probably my favorite ones were the ship graveyard and the yacht but I also really liked the desert parts for the last few chapters. I also think this one has my favorite OST with a lot of the songs having a "Lawrence of Arabia" kind of feel to them. The trophies were pretty standard, and kind of like the second game Crushing had some frustrating moments but nothing really too insane. Probably the part I found the most frustrating was the Citadel combat parts and I feel like a part of that is because the enemies don't really seem to react when getting shot. Like they just seem to take the bullets and they don't stagger which I'm pretty sure they did in the first two games. But I managed to deal with them through perseverance with even the final boss not being so bad compared to Lazarevic from the second game. I feel like the only reason I died to him was because I started the game on Crushing and so I didn't really know I was supposed to press the Circle button at times since they don't show the prompts. But now with the first three games done, I look forward to seeing how Drake's journey concludes in Uncharted 4.
RedRodriguez87
#347: True Detective! Well, can't say this game didn't make me feel things. Problem is, alot of said things are probably not what the devs were hoping for. This is a point and click adventure game starring kids play pretending to be adults with their toys. What got my attention is the game's commitment to the bit, filled with sexual inuendos, cursing, drug references; I thought I would get a satirical take of "the adult take on children playing like adults". But when I prepped for the playthrough, I noticed something off with how this collection was described. The "main" game where you earn the trophies and platinum, is a prequel. The story proper takes place during the DLC. So that lead me to looking more into without instead of going in blind. And that's where I saw them. Those descriptions. Dark. Sad. Tragic. Emotional breakdown. And at once, my interest deflated, I started thinking "oh jeez, is it really gonna down that route?" Yeah, it does. SPOILERS And I don't think it should have. Or rather, I don't think it deserved to. For literally 90% of the game, you are embroiled in this silly satirical tale complete with pop culture references, 4th wall breaks, and the aformentioned adult humor. Then, right as you hit that tale's emotional climax (coincidentally when you pop the last DLC trophy) the game turns into a completely different one entirely, taking place in a nightmarish hospital and characters that bleed out their eyes like a bad creepypasta. AND I KNOW, the various items you collect and the rare line alludes to the real tragic events, but.... no, it wasn't good enough for me. Not helping was the voice acting. The girl sounds like shes trying but has no direction, the boy sounds like he COMPLETELY checked out before recording, and the animals commit to one character archetype and nothing else; no emotional range, just the shtick and that's it. Be it a scene where a character is dying, but his actor is just barreling through his lines oblivious to the fact that his character IS dying, or a speech about letting go and moving on fluctuating between unsure to at peace to sagely to melancholic, often within the same sentence, the VA cannot sell the emotion the story wants. That closing photo was an admirable hail mary, I'll give the devs that, but again, the narrative didn't earn it. If by chance any devs are seeing this, I ain't trying to be mean as I did love the concept. You could have embraced this absurd premise all the way and still included a story about growing up. The pieces are there; kids trying to remain in their innocent world, but all the dirty druggy sexy crudeness they've absorbed in the real one is seeping in, as a sign they are growing up. You didn't need all this tragic bleeding-face real-world guilt-ridden psychology stuff. But hey, you got my money, so whatevs.
Popular Post Bahraini_carguy
35th Platinum: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Definitive Edition (PS4) Brief: Where do i begin? By now, you're likely to already know about this notorious release so i will try and not rant about it as much as possible. GTA San Andreas is by far my favourite GTA out of the entire series. Even after all these years, i still return to this game between then and now. While Vice City is a great game no doubt about it, San Andreas pushed the franchise and R* as a whole into a new level. It was a much bigger game in every aspect imaginable compared to Vice City. San Andreas managed to sell over 17 million copies for the PS2 alone, making it the best selling game on the best selling console. Maybe i'm blinded to nostalgia but i hold this GTA in high regards despite the flaws. With a game like that comes high expectations when remastering or remaking such media. After all, this is the company behind such amazing games like RDR2, Bully, Midnight Club LA and GTA, surely they can't mess up? Right?? Unfortunately, the "definitive" edition of SA is by far the worst out of the three. The other two titles might been slightly more salvageable but this? i ain't so sure. The list are too long and probably obvious to those who played it so again, i won't talk about that. Trophies: As for the trophies itself, by the nature of the game being larger in scope, in contrast to III & VC, are far more time consuming. Half of the trophies are straight forward though and you would likely earn them naturally if you went for %100 completion like completing storyline missions, side missions, street races, collectibles, and challenges alike. it can get a bit tedious tho, one of the things i hated in San Andreas were those collectibles in which you have to collect 50 Horseshoes in Las Venturas, collect 50 oysters underwater, take photos of 50 landmarks in San Fierro and spray over 100 gang tags in Los Santos (250 in total!). It does reward you with weapons and few other bonuses but still, it's way too tedious imo. There are some missable trophies related to the storyline and some miscellaneous tasks like eating 8 meals from a fast food joint (ha, nice meme reference) or not commiting any cimes for 24 hours in-game (24 minutes real time). Overall, it's not hard to earn a platinum if you have played this game before but it can get frustrating sometimes. Sorry for my poor english. Popular Post madbuk
#441 - May's Mysteries: The Secret of Dragonville Years ago, I had this on Nintendo DS but never made it far at all because I was way too bad at rhythm games to solve those puzzles. I also just didn't really like it as much as the game it's clearly ripping off - Professor Layton. While I was browsing the new sale, I saw it and was rather surprised because I had no idea at all it had been ported. It was cheap enough that I decided to get it and give it another go, with my Hatsune Miku/Thumper/MoM training to help me through the rhythm portions. This is a very bad port. Typos, graphical glitches (one so severe I didn't even know what the puzzle was supposed to be, because the puzzle text displayed was from the prior puzzle), trophy errors (none of the "solve all x puzzles" trophies unlocked for me until I closed and re-opened the game upon beating them all - and then everything popped all at once. Pls dont ban me, cheater removal team), clunky menus (the puzzle text and the actual puzzle cannot be on the screen at the same time, you toggle between them, which is a big step down from the DS version where the text is on the top screen and the puzzle is on the bottom)... overall it just felt very cheap. If you're a fan of Professor Layton, you might find some enjoyment here if you can look past the obvious low budget and barebones story, but it definitely pales in comparison to what it's trying so hard to be. I can only hope we get PL on console some day - if Phoenix Wright could happen, surely Layton can too. If nothing else I'm just glad to have finally beaten the game that bested me so long ago (which looking back is kinda silly, the rhythm puzzles are badly designed but I did them all first try this time lol)

Overall it's a really great story and the graphics are just great as well. The game also uses the dualsense features a lot which is a nice touch. I could write a whole page about this game but it's something you should experience yourself. The only trophy that sucked horribly was: PhantomEscape the creature without alerting it. Popular Post Jermster_91
#83 Erica This is the third PS Plus game that I had in my Playstation library that I got the Platinum for in the last 7 days. If you have played the Telltale games or the Dark Pictures games, then this game should feel familiar to you in that you play and certain decision can affect the ending of the game. I would recommend you play this game blindly at least once so you can experience it fresh but doing that would add a extra playthrough. If you play using a guide (text one can be found on Playstationtrophies.org), you will need a minimum of 5 playthroughs of the game to get the platinum trophy and with each playthrough taking between an hour and 30 mins to a hour and 45 mins, the playthroughs can feel repetitive after the 3rd one. If you decide to play this on your PS5, you will have to use the controller since the companion app only works for the PS4. Difficulty 2/10 Time 7 to 9 hours if you use a guide.
