Popular Post damienjablonski
In 2009 I was 12 years old. One of my favourite games at the time was Resident Evil 5. I played it every day that summer and it soon became my first ever platinum trophy, on the 28th of August 2009. It was a huge milestone for me, as a gamer. When the remastered version was released for the PS4 it was a no brainer for me, I had to get it. A remaster was a dream come true! After buying the game I realised that the the 10th anniversary of my first platinum was right around the corner. This made me come up with something special that would help me celebrate this occasion. Something I don't think many others, if anyone, has done. So, exactly 10 years later, at the age of 22, on the 28th of August 2019, I earned the platinum trophy for the PS4 version of the game. I loved the game as a boy and I still hold it close to my heart as a man. It will forever remain a timeless classic for me. Here is an image showing the two trophy stamps, I was off by 6 seconds but I'm still very happy with it! What are your thoughts and has anyone done this for any other games? I also purchased the remastered version of Burnout Paradise, but I will have to wait until 2021 to do that one!

Leo Leopold Leon III
this is pretty cool and good job friend, I guess I now have to wait for Motorstorm PR to be remastered...maybe for 15 years anniversary ?
thefourfoldroot
Pretty cool, well done. Would be petty of me to bring up those 6 seconds; very, very petty indeed. And I'm not petty at all. As for the game, I had a fantastic time playing through on the 360 with the wife. When It came to PS4 I bought it again thinking it would be great to both work towards platinum together. Unfortunately it's unplayable in local multiplayer as player 2 can't build their arsenal, upgrade guns etc. Not unless player 1 does it and shares, but even then it's very fiddly and takes twice as long. A major letdown of a remaster for me unfortunately. Edited August 28, 2019 by thefourfoldroot

audiopile
Really cool! Congrats to you and a shout out to PSNP so you have a place to share it. That 6 seconds is PS4's fault, trophies seem to take ages to pop on this compared to the PS3.
Solid-Fisch
I think the game sucks and for the Resident Evil series it's one of the worst games. But you might see this different when you're 12. Also it's not an easy plat nor 100%, so alone for doing that twice you can feel proud, congrats from my side. I got 100% on the PS3 Version. I've never done something like this but atm my project is to make Red Dead Redemption 2 my #100 platinum. I love that game and series so much and since I'm stucked at 99 platinum trophies right now this should be my number 100 milestone. And I'm almost there

Popular Post Sofa King
Now this is what trophies are meant to be for, personal gratification. That's a really neat idea and a meaningful milestone. Congrats!

Popular Post FawltyPowers
That is quite the milestone, well thought out and well played. Mine is quite different but it's one that I'm proud of for Friday the 13th. I don't think anyone else has done this, or at least I think I'm the first one to do it: The physical version of the game was released on Friday the 13th October 2017 and my copy was delivered the same day. I put it on briefly that evening and earned my first trophy which was to be killed by Jason which I thought was apt for the date. The next Friday the 13th on the calendar fell in April of 2018 and believe it or not I had never actually thought about it. It was only a week before that I realised this and then pulled out all the stops to ensure the platinum would fall on that day. One guy put in hours and hours to help me get my Jason kills which I'll never forget. On the actual day I got it the guy couldn't make it but instead two of my long term friends who I met playing this game and have since teamed up with on other games were able to help (they got their platinums earlier in the month on April Fools Day!). As I killed one of them the other shot me in the face with a flare gun just as the platinum popped, this wasn't rehearsed but as he did he said "for old times sake". It led to a pretty good screenshot: This is one of my favourite move franchises, on the few occasions me and my friends played this we had a great laugh. I also have some video footage taken of us on it, one of my favourite gaming moments. I know this isn't the best game (especially the trophy list) but it is my most memorable.
Sokoloph
You are lucky, dude. I have same feelings for Resident Evil 4, but I was 12 at 2006 and there were no trophies and moreover, after 10 years, resident evil 4 have very bad trophy set without platinum (even with re-releasing for PS4)...
Dantes_994
I'm glad that there are people who love the newer games this much I personally prefer the older ones but it's still heartwarming Good on you kiddo

Zippyhammer
To me it was sort of the same. Except that I layed the original on the 360 and it was my first 100% achievements game too Thhen I changed from the Xbox to Playstation in the next generation and with the remaster on PS4 I had to get it as well so I did and also got a 100% Now I'm considering to find a copy of the PS3 version to do it once again! B1rvine
Congratulations @damienjablonski. RE5 is definitely a great game, and excellent double achievement you've done. It's also where Resident Evil as a series should have ended in my opinion because: Spoiler The series villain, Wesker, is defeated. The heroes have all been saved, and the BSAA's formation to cover all new threats is established. RE6 establishes a bunch of new characters nobody cares about, stories that seem far fetched even by Resident Evil standards, a bunch of endless boring huge monsters to fight, and changes the game into an action game from it's survival horror roots. RE7, while its pretty good, just seems like the storyline isn't really a Resident Evil one other than a few forced mentions of the RE Universe. They need to make one final [amazing] Resident Evil game tying everything together and just end the series. And maybe a remake of RE3/4.
