Popular Post Undead Wolf
#243 - Devil May Cry 2 Platinum Trophy Unlock all trophies DMC2 is a bad game, but I already knew that going in. Gone is all that charm the original had, and instead we're left with a generic story, dull characters, and unbalanced gameplay. They made the guns way too powerful in this game. Not only do they do massive amounts of damage, but they're also capable of juggling enemies all by their self. There are too many bosses which can safely be killed by firing your guns from the other side of the room, and hell, there's even a boss that you're forced to shoot for like 5+ minutes! I don't like the direction they took Dante's personality in either. He's just a lot less "fun" - I miss the quips he would make towards bosses on the original. DMC2 is definitely a step down from the first game in almost every aspect. I must say though, I did really like how you could run up the side of walls by dodging and the animations for firing your weapon mid-air looked really cool. That's about the most positive thing I can say. Despite all of the negatives I have to say about this game, I didn't hate my time with it. The time it takes to platinum is mercifully short, especially using the cheat codes (I beat each campaign once without them), so it was over with before I could really despise it. I'm glad I played this game even if that's just to say that I have. Now that I've experienced the absolute low-point of the series, I can move onto the best this series has to offer.
Popular Post Z-Yux
Platinum #60: Final Fantasy X Remaster This one was a very long time coming. After initially messing up my sphere grid on my previous playthrough, I put this game on the back burner with only 4 trophies needed for the platinum. I finally came back to it years later and powered through the grind of the Monster Arena, AP farming, and Sphere Grid completion. Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #323: Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands Sand Master Unlock all other trophies. These sands should remain forgotten. The PoP series isn't a favorite of mine, and this title did nothing to change that opinion. There were some good ideas here, and a couple of times where I frenetically pushed buttons, but all in all, this game was mind-numbingly easy. Although I followed a guide for the sarcophagi, I probably could have done without it. The "challenge" mode was hardly a challenge, and I hate (theoretically) that another challenge was hidden behind some stupid "Ubisoft Club" nonsense. Oh well. It was an old PS+ title, and it's done.
Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #166 Daggerhood [Vita] Platinum Thief Get all the trophies Well that was pretty much free. Don't even have to beat the first area. :/ Stopped playing so it wouldn't be my fastest plat. I'll keep playing, but this first world boss is a pain. The game has some wonky hitboxes on spikes. It's one of those games where if you jump at an angle toward spikes you die even if you don't touch the pixels. So it makes it harder than necessary. I would've gotten this multiple times if not for the fact it makes you move backwards toward the rushing boss to grab a power up to continue. Gotta go fast, apparently. Other than the hitboxes, the wall jumping is a bit wonky as well. And after a few levels I just muted the game, the music was repetitive. Not sure if it changed within the first 12 levels needed for the plat or if it's changed 12-20, or the remaining 4(? yep 4) worlds [which I assume also have 20 levels]. Nice pixel art though, and cool concept. I don't know that I'll stack this given it's not really an accomplishment. If it at least required you to beat each world, thus the game, it would feel more like an accomplishment. Knowing Ratalaika, the game might get pretty tough later on so they decided to hand the plat out for sales since they basically just sell plats. Guess I'll see. Popular Post KaiserVendrix
Platinum #3 Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi! Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 Boy do I remember this game being bashed on when it came out! I get it though, the game had a very simplistic battle mechanic and it came down to a guessing game most of the time. While the game had it's flaws I still enjoyed it. Something it did right compared to later games like Xenoverse, is that your created character has a voice and he's own little story and I very much enjoyed that.

Popular Post Durandal
Thank you for playing! (29,8%) "You've been all around the Forgotten Lands. Thank you for your time!" A truly wonderful game! I finished it a week ago or so and I made a status update about the game recently. It's a pretty long post but it should give anyone a good impression of the game, I also included a short video about the first fifteen minutes. I didn't want to write another lengthy post again, so I just copied the text from my status update in the spoiler section, without the video. Suffice to say I really like the game and its story. Spoiler If you are looking for an unusual adventure/platformer with a great story then let me introduce you to Forgotton Anne. This is a very unusual game to say the least. Not because of the gameplay but of the story. It is very hard to even describe the world let alone the story without sounding like a lunatic. I will try anyway of course. But before I start I better explain the game itself. Forgotton Anne is part adventure and part 2D Platformer. This means you run and jump around a lot, open doors and so on. You also collect a few things but mostly you investigate or talk with others. There are also some puzzles waiting to be solved as well. The gameplay is a bit slow but it works remarkably well. And the game is a playable Anime! Everything is drawn by hand, even the characters and let me tell you it is very beautiful! What I found most surprising about this is that the game was made by a studio in Denmark. The world is called Forgotten Land and is inhabited by forgotten things, literally all the stuff we have lost over the years or simply forgotten about. But not only this, everything is imbued with life somehow when they "cross over", due to a substance called Anima. With me so far? Good, it gets weirder. There are only two humans living in the world, why or how is not so important but it will be explained later on in the game. One of them is Anne of course and she is the protagonist. The other one is her mentor but also her only parent, in a way. Anne is an enforcer and her job is to keep the peace in this world. Why would she have to do this? Well, these forgotlings as they are called have a consciousness and they remember where they came from and even a bit about who they belonged to. So some of them want desperately return home, but some don't. And Annes mentor not only found a way to go back to the real world, he has almost finished building a bridge to do just that. Most of the forgotlings are happy with this but only the most loyal are allowed to use this bridge. This is causing a lot of unrest among the citizens as you can imagine and Anne is kind of a bad guy in this story. Because she can take away this Anima force from any forgotling killing them in the process. When you start this journey Anne is in the middle of an ongoing rebellion and her job is to put an end to it. But things aren't as the seem to be and she soon finds out a lot more about the world then she ever could have imagined. But she also has a few friends among the forgotlings. And this is when the game really becomes interesting! The story is told beautifully with a lot Anime sequences and animations but the heart of the game is its underlying theme. Without getting into any details it touches on a lot of human things without ever becoming a cliché. Well maybe a little bit sometimes. It really isn't about some girl in a strange world who becomes a hero either. It's a drama in every sense of the word. But it is not a sad story per se, there are many funny moments but mostly it inspires you to think about the things we are doing all the time. In a good way, sort of! The game also has a very enjoyable trophy list. Most of them can be acquired by following the story but there are also a few that require some searching or doing something in a specific way. But none are either too hard or even missable. It is however possible to need to play it a second time due to a certain choice which can be made throughout the game. But the game can be completed in 10 to 20 hours! Finding the thirty odd collectables or mementos is surprisingly pleasant, apart from a few well hidden ones. Some of these do require more then just looking around, like interacting with objects or solving a puzzle for instance. There are two guides over at playstationthrophies.org. The walkthrough isn't really needed though. I used the trophy guide on a hand full of occasions mostly because I was too lazy. It is also possible to access each chapter after finishing the story. This will allow you to look up the location of any missing mementos too and you can even listen to the entire soundtrack there, once you have found all the collectables that is. Which is another reason why I like this game! The studio really put a lot of ideas into their game, so go and find out yourself someday! Thank you Square Enix for publishing this game and supporting the developer! Edited February 27, 2019 by Durandal
Popular Post Lars
I got many platinums recently, not all of them are noteworthy but imo these 2 are #176: Assassin’s Creed Rogue This is one of the lesser known Assassin’s Creed titles as it released for PS3 on the same time as Black Flag did I believe. This game is massive, absolutely massive. It has so much content, not that much quality content but loads of filler content. The game is fun though, especially for me. I wanted to play a game in which I could play it, do all the things I required to do and not miss anything. Because it is open world, everything is on the map it is easy to just go down the checklist and not be afraid of missing out on a trophy or make it very difficult for myself. The story is not interesting at all but the missions are fun. What makes the game interesting is that you don’t play as an assassin. You behave like one though so gameplay wise nothing changes. This game is gameplay wise exactly the same as Black Flag, loads of naval combat and locations on islands around the map which you can visit for missions, shops and collectibles. The only difference is that this game takes place in the north which means that it is cold there, so there are loads of icebergs in the sea, and bad weather. And you die if you stay in the water for too long. Like said the game has loads of content. The game has loads of collectibles: 200 animus fragments, more chests then animus fragments (I estimate around 350), war letters, treasure maps, crosses, shanty’s and Viking swords. In total I think you are around 700 collectibles in the whole game. Then the missions, 6 sequences, 12 assassin interceptions, 12 hunting challenges (not required for plat), 4 legendary battles, 7 native towers, outposts, supply camps. And in the sea: Convoys and prisoner of war ships. And the online missions(naval story) that you could do in every AC game. So loads of stuff to do. Apart from checking of this list you have to spent loads of time hunting and battling ships to upgrade yourself and your ship. So this is actually a really time consuming platinum, I had around 40 hours on my profile, I did do all the hunting challenges though. This is an ideal platinum if you don’t want to follow a guide at all for a rather easy platinum. It isn’t like those story driven small point and click titles in which you can get the plat in 2 hours, butt you have to follow a guide every single second or otherwise the chances you miss a trophy are high. So I really enjoyed my time with this game although I took a pause from it a year ago, at that time I didn’t care for a game like this and it took too much time for my feeling and it was very repetitive, and I can confirm that it still is very repetitive but if you are like me and have a bit of stress something like this is perfect. No worries about missing anything, no, hoping that I get that trophy when it should pop, stress. You don’t need to think or be strategic, just a distraction. Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 #173: Just Cause 3 This is a game of which I’m really proud of getting the platinum, I platted it in December but I never got around writing a review on it. The game is fun, but I also think that this has to be one of the most repetitive games I ever played. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like it but it is very repetitive. The game consists of a couple of missions, the rest is all open world madness, destroying everything you see, parachuting, wingsuiting and grappling to everything you see. That is what makes this game so much fun. You are in a land called Medici, which is ruled by a dictator called Di Ravello. Your goal is to get rid of him and his army. He has taken over the entire land (which contains of 3 parts, one massive island and two parts with smaller islands) and owns all villages, towns, cities and there are military bases and camps all over the place. Your goal is to take over every single one of them, and also collect all the collectibles scattered over the world. They are difficult to find on your own because the world is absolutely massive. Luckily they are shown on the map after a while, I think after taking over everything in a certain area of the map. The story is not interesting at all but that is not the main part of the game. The platinum is difficult, and you may think why, because going around blowing stuff up couldn’t be that difficult. Well it isn’t. The problem sits in the fact that this game has challenges, these challenges contain of different things, destruct loads within a time limit with a certain weapon. Time trials while driving, flying or with sea vehicles. But as everyone who played it knows those aren’t that difficult, the difficulty lies in the wingsuit challenges (spoiler alert, they weren’t that challenging for me). There are loads of these and they are difficult because they require you to go through rings, and then a small ring in the center of the bigger outer ring. To get the required score you have to be close to perfection, you may mis one or two inner rings to get to that score. That is where the challenge comes in, you have to be perfect and have loads of control over the wingsuit, you can’t lose speed or altitude otherwise you can’t go through the inner rings. Especially the last couple of challenges are difficult, they require knowledge of the flight path and a bit of luck. They are close to land, or over water or close to mountain ridges. But I managed to get control over the wingsuit pretty quickly, the most difficult challenge took me 10 tries so I was pretty satisfied with that result. Passing these challenges gives you gears, from 1-5 gears. These gears give you upgrades which make you a bit stronger but don’t make that much of a difference. I also played and completed the DLC’s and they give you some awesome equipment, a really fast boat, a very good wingsuit and some very strong weapons, mechs and so on. If you want to play through this game from the start think about the DLC’s they are fun and give great stuff. In general the game is fun but very repetitive, the game is colourful though and the explosions are gorgeous. Absolutely spectacular. I don’t know if I can recommend it though, as Just Cause 4 is out now, but it is still a fun title and just give it a go because it was free on plus last year. Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
And finally the last two platinum trophies! Nos. 107 & 108 Resident Evil 2 Raccoon City native Graphics and story are really good! Wandering in the R.P.D. is my favourite part of the game: watching carefully behind every dark corner or hearing everywhere the steps of Mr. X give tension and anxiety (and some jumpscares, like a corpse in a locker, or when Mr.X suddendly smashes a wall and you find him in front of you ?). The only ability I wanted was a stealth mode kill like The Evil Within (I mean, since some zombies don’t hear me, I can walk slowly behind and finish them, right? Why should I waste bullets?). I really liked looking for the puzzles and lockers clues, the item management (combining the items and decide what I should take or what I should leave in order to reduce the backtracking), but I hated the sewer chapter (and I hated them in Outlast too) and the huge hug-me-please zombies ? (especially the giant G zombies in the pool before reaching the queen and king chess pieces). Maybe the routes b should have been more different, not only for puzzles and key items location: there should have been one or two different bosses (for example, since Leon/Claire fought G with the crane in the sewers, then Claire/Leon should fight someone else, not the same boss). Anyway, I don’t think to be really good in these speedruns ? (I could reach S rank on standard difficulty, but on hardcore I spent more than 3:30 hours), because I tried to pick up everything, herbs, weapon upgrades, munitions. And I reached the final bosses with 8 or 9 RGB herbs (+ 4 medical spray), 65 shotgun bullets, 15 fire grenades and 42 acid grenades. I think they were enough, right? ? (well, in The Evil Within I was even worse, because I had so many munitions that the two keepers bosses couldn’t cross the room. Too many explosive and shock bolts!). And this is my final result: I can confirm that, on the game over screen, if you load a file save (not the continue option) time and steps are added, so you have to quit and load. Surely I saw one of the most weird thing in video games: the tofu! Seriously, I tried only once (and I reached the roof where the helicopter crashes, but the lickers ate the tofu) and I couldn’t stop laughing! ? What the hell is this mode?! And this is my best screenshot: my first encounter with Mr. X. ? My holy **** moment! ? I shot him in the head, nothing (I made the hat drop for the trophy! I was worried about this huge boy, and a trophy popped up... ?), but he made a new hole in the wall with me . I ran back to the roof, I shot again (nothing again...), then I ran in circle and I reached the R.P.D. And every time I opened a door he was always behind it: after I used the USB pendrive in the STARS office he was out in the corridor with the licker (what a beautiful couple! ), outside the safe room in the first floor west side (and he didn’t go away. He stayed behind the door! What the hell! This is my safe area, go away and stop punching me!), after I solved the clocktower puzzle I opened the door… And he was there. Again. Seriously, he gave me more trouble on standard difficulty, while on hardcore he was less annoying... But he ruined one run of the 4th survivor: he gave me a punch in the back and send me straight in the plant zombies’ arms. I wanted to see his face, because I am sure he was smiling… Adventures of Mana The hero of Mana A very short JRPG (15 hours), simple but fun. Unlike Secret of Mana, the drops are really more generous, so you don’t have grinding sessions for the items collection. Just some grinding for the level 99 in the last area, and a lot of mattocks and keyrings for every dungeon. But the riddle of the palms and “remember the number 8” was really insane, because I tried everything : in every area with 8 palms I used the axe or fire items in order to strike them down (but nothing happened ?), then I thought it could be some kind of “digital 8” in the first area in front of the town (but nothing again). Then I gave up and I searched it on Youtube… And the solution was astonishing! I’m still thinking it has no sense… Anyway, finally I understand why this game is called Final Fantasy Gaiden: there is a Chocobo (with its theme)! And I think they should bring back also Heroes of Mana and Legend of Mana, just for the Shimomura’s soundtracks! ?
Popular Post GraniteSnake
#127: FIFA 18 I never thought I'd ever have a FIFA platinum on my profile but this entry's trophy list was surprisingly approachable, especially for a casual player such as myself. This was one of the first games I played on my PS4, as it came bundled along with COD: WWII back in late 2017. Being the first FIFA title I'd played since FIFA 11, it was obvious to me the improvements made in the series throughout the years. The game play felt a lot more fluid, the character models and movements were much more lifelike and defending was no longer a case of holding down one or two buttons and letting the game do the work for you. Admittedly I turned on legacy defending during Ultimate Team which allowed me to do just that, and it made reaching Division 1 a cake walk. FUT ended up being an enjoyable mode, and I wasn't expecting it to be as addicting as it was. The mode felt stupidly boring at the beginning, as I started out on the easiest difficulty to ensure I made it to division 1 comfortably. Division 3 was probably the most annoying one as it's requirements consisted of me having to have a team full of silver cards. The difficulty never rose above world class, and a lot of the times difficulty didn't appear to matter. Some of the professional games felt a lot tougher than the world class ones, with some teams defense being near impenetrable and their keeper unbeatable. Aside from a few headaches, and multiple random disconnects during games, FUT was pretty much smooth sailing all the way to Division 1. Glad to finally have a FIFA platinum, and I wasn't going to let this become another unobtainable on my profile. Popular Post Masamune
With Regalia in Hand Obtained all trophies. Difficulty: 3.5/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Playtime: 58:51:00 (2 weeks, 3 days, 2 hours) Screenshot: Spoiler Fate/Extella wasn't that bad considering I was pretty lost on the story since I never played the other games before. Thankfully I got the gist of it though because it hasn't been too long since I watch Fate/Extra, I don't know if it takes place in the exact same universe or not, but it's similar enough to where I can piece together some stuff. When I first started, I did have a little trouble with the gameplay, but once I learned which areas to focus on capturing (& started abusing EM attacks), things became fairly easy. Having to replay all the levels on Very Hard wasn't even much harder than Normal. Thankfully you can replay everything in free play mode using the same character (so you don't have to level everybody up). I decided to use Artoria for all the missions, while she isn't nearly my favorite character in the series, she's got some pretty useful attacks in the game. I didn't even have to level her up much before I started VH, once I hit Lv20 things started getting manageable (2 linked x20 Health Boosts Alphas helped a ton), by the time I was done with everything, she was Lv72. The only trophy that required a little grinding was getting to 5,000 Aggressor kills, by the time I was done with everything else, I was probably only around half that. It didn't take too long though, the Plant enemies contentiously generate aggressors (2 every 10-15 seconds), so I managed to finish that within a few hours. Popular Post Sergen
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition: Platinum #132 Difficulty: 2/10 Time Taken: 20 hours Special thanks to @Darkette who did the anarchy trophies with me, it was a lot of fun . Now this is it for me and Bulletstorm, for now. I must say that the anarchy trophies on this game are significantly shorter and easier than the PS3 version, which is good because the only real grinding aspect of the PS3 version was to get to level 65 and on Full Clip you only need to get to level 30, which comes naturally while doing all the other anarchy mode trophies. 40,000 points in anarchy mode is way more lenient than the 50,000 on PS3 and we got our 40,000 a few enemies before the end, whereas when I did the game on PS3 we had around 49,000 when the last enemy was on the screen, so we had to farm some revives for 50 points until we got the trophy. Aside from anarchy mode, the echo mode trophies are different, but on this version they demand more from you, because by default the DLC echoes from PS3 are part of this game. On PS3 you had to get 150,000 as a total high score in echoes and get 3 stars in 14 missions, on PS4 you need 250,000 and 3 stars on 20 missions. Aside from differences in those two modes, not much else has changed in regards to trophies, except the fact that DLC trophies from PS3 have become part of the main list on PS4. The game looks significantly better visually than the PS3 version, since they upgraded the game engine and took advantage of the extra power the PS4 can have. This is one of the only FPS games that I'd be glad to see getting a sequel, which is saying something. Edited March 31, 2019 by Sergen

Popular Post Dauersack
Destroy All Humans 2! #24. Make War, Not Love. First time playing this game and I gotta say I was not disappointed. It was much larger than the first one, had more weapons, characters and variety on the areas as well as the enemies. The story was alright, maybe it dragged on a bit too long but it was chock full of the same mean dark humor I loved in the first game. The killing and enslaving of hippies alone makes this game a hit in my eyes. Besides Hippies, this time the Russians also got absolutely shit on, but also the British and Japanese depictions made me laugh many times. This game is an improvement in almost every single area compared to the first one, with only a few flaws annoying me. The first flaw is that they made reading minds and changing bodies rather tedious, yet absolutely vital for almost every single mission, leading to some mild frustration. Next is the fact that they often make you scan people in order to find vague locations you have to go and look around for stuff, meaning I had a lot of mindless running around and searching thanks to the awful sense of direction I am cursed with. The last and biggest flaw is the kinda crappy mission design. This game has the highest amount of escort missions I can remember in any game, and I am not exactly a fan of that. There are also some difficulty balancing issues (curse you, coit tower) and you often have to steal specific bodies, sometimes half a map away, to even start some of the side missions. Despite my occasional frustration I am glad I finally got to play this game. There just aren't enough of these games around nowadays and I doubt any game today could get away with some of the things this game did, yet alone all of them. I can recommend this series to anyone who likes dark humor in his games, does not take things too seriously and wants to have a great time blowing shit up in spectacular fashion.

It was fun getting back into Mortal Kombat since the PS3 version. Upon starting up the game, one of the first trophies I wanted to finish before doing anything else was doing a 10-hit combo with every character. It wasn't too hard when looking at YouTube videos for help. Story Mode, I thought was ok. Spoiler Still don't know how Cassie Cage managed to defeat Corrupted Shinnok ? The most annoying trophy I thought was Almighty - Complete a Test Your Might Tower. I couldn't do it fast enough with my fingers. I had to use a pen! as suggested from this video. WTF?! The animation isn't as well done as I'd hoped - there are still plenty of still images, where Okabe describes something but you don't see it happening, like him handing over money or falling down on his knees. Typos from the original game are still there unchanged, and overall I think the art in the original game is better. This game also has cut content, but I'm fine with that because I felt like the stuff they cut ended up helping the pacing of the game. I regret playing the original again when it was free in December, everything was too fresh in my mind and I found myself leaving it on pause for hours as soon as something like a Discord conversation distracted me from it. I was also less invested than I was on my original replay. Idk why they decided it'd be a good idea to give away the original version of a story-driven game like this a few months before a remake released, I imagine they lost a number of sales from people deciding it wasn't worth getting Elite when they got the original free. I think this is a great jumping on point for newcomers to the visual novel genre, as the animation may keep them more engaged than the static images in the original. For VN veterans I'd recommend sticking with the original game because the art is superior imo. I'd also recommend playing this version on auto mode, as it allows the animations to play out fully and naturally rather than it looking very janky when you advance at your own pace. I switched to auto mode at around chapter 5 and it felt like a big improvement. I'm okay with this being disappointing, though. It's obviously a shame but I didn't buy this game to play Elite, I bought it to play the other game that comes with it - Linear Bounded Phenogram. Sure, I was interested in Elite too because I was very curious to see how an animated VN would play out, so I decided to play Elite as well, but LBP was the primary reason behind getting it day 1, so this being a disappointment doesn't mean I wish I hadn't bought it day 1. It's a shame LBP has no trophies, but I'll play it regardless. It's split up into 11 short stories so I think I'm going to savour it and play one story after every game I finish instead of doing it all at once. I'd be interested to see more animated VNs like this, maybe a Steins;Gate 0 Elite, but it doesn't really add much to the experience for me other than being a mild fascination to see how it plays out.
