Popular Post madbuk
#309 - Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered Just like with Assassin's Creed III, I appreciate this game so, so much more now than I did beforehand. And I already loved it the first go around, and the second. The platforming in this is fantastic, and a real highlight of how far we've fallen since. So much of this game would be flat out broken and abusable with the new systems we have now, but here, because the platforming isn't broken and ridiculous, you get fun obstacle courses through ancient ruins and actually quite involved viewpoints on top of trees and even some of the buildings. The mushroom collectibles and some of the diary pages/mayan statues were fun to collect too, running across Bayou tree branches, or exploring caves. If this were Origins or Odyssey, you'd hold up on the stick and instant win. You wouldn't need to look for ledges or work out the way forward at all, it basically plays itself. It's so bad. This game was also an example of quality vs quantity. It was short, the areas were small, but it was fun the whole way through. You don't need an expansive open world split up into multiple islands like Odyssey, or an empty desert spanning miles like Origins. The areas in this were much more enjoyable because of how well designed they were (and the music was great too - another thing to add to the list of things Origins got rid of. Good music.) The story wasn't quite as interesting or engaging the third time around, but even so, that doesn't change the fact that I was invested throughout the first time. In many ways this game made me think of Tomb Raider Legend, and the plot of this reminds me of that game too. I think that there could've been some more closure to the game, it just... kinda ends. That's not a major issue though. I loved my time with this game. I loved my time with Assassin's Creed III. You don't know what you have until you lose it, right? I imagine, unless AC1 gets remastered, this is the last we'll ever see of traditional Assassins Creed, and that makes me quite sad. It has - had - arguably become my favourite franchise, and I will sorely miss it. I'll stick around and get the next AC games, because while Odyssey may have been an awful Assassin's Creed game, at least it was fun unlike Origins. And I feel too invested at this point, after having done all 26 games, to just drop it entirely. I am quite nervous to see where we're going from here though, because although Odyssey was a better game than Origins, it strayed even further from what an AC game is. And with Vikings being next... I don't have high hopes for the future. But as bad as this series gets from now on, my fond memories of what came before shall not go away. </3
Popular Post yellowwindow7
Noble Achievement / inFAMOUS First Light i'm a bit late to the party of playing the infamous game on the ps4 but i gotta say first light is a good game! unfortunately it's very short, just the moment i got super hocked up to it it ended... i guess it's because Second Son is the main game ( which i haven't played yet ) while first light was supposed to be a story DLC. the only thing that could make the platinum a bit difficult is the Rescue Challenges in the training ground something, but the challenges themself's can be a ton of fun especially the survival ones, at least to me. i guess my next platinum is Shadow of the Tomb Raider and boy it's already putting a sore bad taste in my mouth.

Popular Post Durandal
Assassin's Creed Odyssey Epic Cycle earned: March, 31st first Trophy earned: February 21st last Trophy earned: April 13th (just waiting for the last DLC now) Before I start my little rant, let me say this. I really enjoyed the game, which is simply because it's so much fun to roam around ancient Greek. Visiting historical places, real or not, and meeting those famous personalities like Sokrates. But even the story surprised me from time to time, it had engaging moments and lots of interesting characters. And because of this I spent over 250 hours in this game/world. But ... it's bloody annoying! Most of the activities in the game are the same things over and over again. Doesn't matter if it's a location like camps or caves or a (side) quest. Although there is a distinction to be made. There are side quests from a specific person like the Lost Tales of Greek and those are at least interesting or sometimes even good. But there are quest from a forum which consists of your basic boring standard quests. Luckily they are not intrusive so you can ignore them completely. Or at least do the ones that will give you that special currency called Orichalcum Ore, if you want to buy some of legendary items. Fortunately these locations weren't that annoying for me so I tolerated all of them. Sometimes it was even fun to sneak around a fort and to assassinate the whole personal and steal everything I could find. Even more annoying is the whole combat system. First of all it's imprecise, which means you can hit enemies who are clearly out of your line of sight or reach and vice versa. And then there is this sliding effect which happens when you or an enemy is out of range but the attack still connects and the character slides around a bit. Then there is the ridiculous rag doll animation. It also doesn't help that you fight the same type of enemies over and over again. Lets see, there is a fat guy with either a two handed weapon or two heavy melee weapons. Or a scrawny guy with a spear or a sword. And a few with bows or shields or other variations, but it's still very boring after a while. The mercenaries didn't change this too much because they are basically copied and pasted all over the world, at least they all have their own distinctive look. Speaking of mercs, once you have a bounty on your head they all simply materialize out of thin air near your location and of course know more or less where you are. And they always attack with fire or poison. Which is the most annoying or even frustrating crap of this game. Simply because it does a shit load of damage, especially when you have little to no resistance. So all in all the combat is the weakest point of this game. Sadly more so, because this game is called ASSASSINS Creed and not BUTCHERS Creed, for crying out loud. Can we please have a game which focuses on eliminating bad guys quietly next time? This brings me to the bounty system, which is ok and makes sense even. But it can be really silly sometimes. For instance if you kill a bunch of cultists in front of a prisoner, who you rescue no less, but it will increase your bounty! Heck, sometimes those prisoners even attacked me! Same happens when you kill a bandit in the middle of nowhere in front of his bandit buddies. I guess they are all somehow quantum entangled to the person who is charge of the bounty. Next point, the story! This a bit of a contradiction, I know! The beginning is actually fantastic, especially Kephallonia and the other early locations of the game. But after a while it wears off and you are doing really boring or even annoying things. Sometimes it's almost unbearable or cringe-worthy, especially the third episode of the first DLC. All in all it is your typical textbook story filled with clichés and wrapped in black and white morality. Speaking of morality, the Cult. Great idea for sure. but why are most of these cultists just a bunch of blood thirsty lunatics? It should be common knowledge that the best bad guys are still those that you can somehow understand or even relate to. Like the first cultist you meet! But after this it's going mostly downhill. It truly feels like they wrote all those little insights about there atrocious behavior just to give you a reason to kill them. And there is hardly any thinking required for finding them all, just follow the signs! All this is such a shame because it could have been something really interesting if they had put more thought into it. But no, it's just a story about your family, again!!, and a lot of (stupid) bad guys. I mean these cultists are supposed to be a group of clever people who control all of Greek and not a bunch of idiots who kill people just for the fun. And the last point is the insane amount of content! They could have made three games out of it, and I am only talking about the basic game here. Like I said most of it is simply doing the same stuff over and over, which inevitable gets very boring after a while. And this concludes my little rant ... thanks for reading. PS I am not going to talk about trophies because they are all really easy to earn and not that interesting, well maybe one or two. I’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey a lot more recently and I’ve been running into the same problem where citizens end up attacking me for killing soldiers, even if they are being held prisoner by said soldiers. I don’t even lay a finger on the citizens to trigger them to fight me, they just really hate the fact that I’m saving them? The weird thing is, I don’t remember having this problem when I first started playing the game (for the first ~20 hours). Honestly, if Janet the 45 year-old stay-at-home mom from Athens wants to pick up an axe and start swinging at me after I just put down the soldier that was going to kill her kid, she’s getting put down. And the kid. And the entire town. End of story.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#253 - Yakuza 5 Fulfiller of Dreams All trophies collected Another Yakuza platinum obtained. This one was quite the beast! By the time I got the trophy for 100% completion, it said I had been playing for 178 hours. It's because of how huge this game is: 5 main characters, 5 different cities, and just a wealth of side content. I'm extremely impressed to say the least. I really enjoyed each character's story and how they all tied into the overarching plot. The final chapter was a thing of beauty. It was also great how the characters had their own unique side activities (Taxi driving, hunting, etc). There's some top-tier music in this game too. Pretty much the only negative thing I can say about this game is how Shinada's fighting style felt underdeveloped when compared the rest of the playable characters, and as a result, I didn't enjoy fighting as him. If it wasn't already obvious, I loved this game. I'd consider it to be the 2nd best in the series, only beaten by Yakuza 0. I don't regret a single minute I spent getting this plat.
Popular Post NorbR338055
#29 - The Witness Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 I played this game last August, enjoyed it a lot, got through all the main areas but just couldn't beat the final challenge. I'd always wanted to go back and give it another try but never actually got around to do it -- and I hate limited time challenges in games anyway. Then I read about this new glitch that saves you from having to solve those pillar puzzles (or rather give you infinite time to do it), and decided that was too good to pass on, since I always hated those pillars. In the end that was definitely worth it since it took me only a few tries to get the platinum using this glitch. I'm not particularly proud of it, but it is what it is ? Still, it was fun to see how quickly I remembered all those puzzles, even 8 months later, that was all nicely etched in my brain somewhere. Ironically, the run where I got the platinum was by far my best ever, I got to the maze before the second music even started. I almost considered trying to go for it the regular way, but chose to wait instead, and given how I still struggled with the pillars even with infinite time, that was probably the right choice. Final challenge aside, I really really liked this game. Beautiful environment, cool puzzles with a lot of variety and a great difficulty progression curve, the way this game holds your hand through the different puzzle types without ever saying a word is really something. Highly recommended for anyone who likes this type of games.

Popular Post Ala-Arska
LEGO The Incredibles It's Showtime! Unlock all trophies It looks like Sulley's about to hit that sweet old lady in the head. What a Monster! Whaaaaat, a LEGO game with a reasonable length and a decent sized city map? Unlike those LEGO Marvel titles, The Incredibles understands NOT to stuff everything full of collectables and million useless characters Instead we get a compact area, few quests, and one character per Pixar movie/franchise (and, um, banana suit man and hot dog suit man and...). This way it never overstays it's welcome + you get to actually enjoy the whole ride through. It's easier overall as well. Races are done in first try, flying is surprisingly not shitty and finding gold bricks is painless. Loading times do suck monkey balls, though. Transition from level to hub takes roughly 1min 20sec (yeah, I timed it), and that's way too long Mr. Incredible sounds like a hate child of Peter Griffin and Wreck-It-Ralph. Yup, let that sink in for a while...lucky he's a family guy Definitely shorter than most of the brick installments, The Incredibles is all the more fun because of it. Except when it loads

Popular Post Jelloycat
Platinum #77 - Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story This game was pretty fun and certainly a reasonable price. The combat isn't anything too deep, but it's fun to manage your little school. There were quite a few glitches that made the game pretty annoying though, not to mention frame drops when character's used certain special moves. I had one of the weapon trophies glitch on me, but luckily I had a back-up save and was able to go back and get it without TOO much backtracking. (Thought I might have to do a whole new play through at first. ) Anyways, I liked the game, but I really wish they would have fixed up some things before release.

Popular Post monkeydluffy512
#311 Agent of the Month Agents of Mayhem I was interested in this game because of my love of Saints Row games. I went in with an open mind and enjoyed this for what it was. This game definitely feels like Saints Row crossed with G.I. Joe and that sparked some solid nostalgia. The game-play is high paced and exciting, and the lineup of characters offers a decent variety of combat styles. Other than that the humor falls flat, the character backstories are barely there so there is no attachment to any of them. I really hated that the level difficulty setting can be changed behind the scenes with no notification which left me getting my butt kicked many times only to realize the game set itself to the highest level. And that one online trophy where 6 people "work together" to complete 15 contracts just sucked. Somehow I always ended up with 5 other people just there to mooch their way through. Overall I just wish Volition didn't write Saints Row over a cliff because I would much rather play a new Saints Row title than a spin-off that tries too hard to be Saints Row that it doesn't develop its own identity.

Popular Post Alternatewarning
Plat 40 Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f Oh boy, do I love this game. I love me a good rhythm game and this one checked all the right boxes. I remember trying the demon out for this series a long time ago and failing pretty badly, so I never got into it. Now I regret that decision and plan to pick up as many as I can. I love Vocaloid music, always have, and this has a great collection of songs. There were a few I could have done without, cough Negaposi Continues cough, but overall I really liked it. I enjoyed unlocking the modules and the Diva rooms weren't even that bad. The difficulty is just right once you really start to play. Plat 41 √Letter Root Letter isn't a bad game, by any means. It's an interesting non-otome visual novel. I liked trying to track down what happened to this missing person and even the investigation mini-game wasn't bad. It just also wasn't great. The hunt and find mechanic was completely underutilized and the map function turned from interesting to annoying very quickly. But overall the routes were decently interesting and fun.
Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Batman: The Enemy Within - PS4 (#193) "I am the Night" It is a shame that Telltale Games went out the way they did. Their formula matched different source material well. The Batman series does well in this medium because of the intrigue and detective work. Bruce Wayne's double life is perfect for the various conversation choices and makes for good cinematic action sequences. This series picks up right where the last one left off. John Doe pursues you for assistance as a new villain appears in Gotham. Each episode carries a strong narrative theme and the characters are well developed. Only once or twice did I feel as though the conversation was carried in an unintended direction based on the conversation choice selected. The stakes increase pretty steadily through this series to a fairly predictable, but still satisfying climax. Another solid entry from Telltale. It stands tall next to The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands in its storytelling and excitement.
