Popular Post Bratinov
Plat 60: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Fun: 10 Difficulty: 8 Grind: 7 I've been playing Isaac since the OG flash game. It's the most compelling game I've ever played. It’s got that addictive ‘one more run' quality about it. Luck is a huge factor, while there are some instawin item combinations, if you're unlucky and don't get damage upgrades, it becomes a slog. Completing the item collection is the worst, but at least theres Eden! It's also the most frustrating game I’ve ever played, but in a good way. Turning a shitty run around feels amazing! Shame you can't just hold R on console! Edited May 17, 2021 by Bratinov Typo

Popular Post JoaLoft
#253 - NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139... If you've already played NieR Automata and fell in love with it like everyone else: great! But what if you're wondering how everything came to pass in the sequel, when you've missed out on the first game, NieR: Gestalt (called NieR: Replicant in Japan) back in 2010? The Gods have heard and answered your prayers with this reworked definitive version of NieR Replicant, called version 1.22474487139 (the square root of 1.50), numerically describing that it isn't a plain remaster (i.e. version 1.00), nor a full remake (i.e. version 1.50). It is still mostly the same game, just revamped in a lot of areas with some brand-new content here and there. An approach which has turned a fairly mediocre game back then into an amazing modern remaster.. erhh remake, ahhh... reee-make...ster. Yes, let's just roll with that. The overall story of the NieR games is mind-boggling to say the least. Not confusing, just mind-boggling considering the scale of all the events that take place. And so as to avoid confusing someone who hasn't played any NieR games, or the Drakengard franchise for that matter, I'll just stick to the basics for this game. NieR Replicant takes place in the distant future, in 3465 AD to be precise. Humanity and modern society have mostly been reduced to rubble after a cataclysmic event way back in 2003 AD, which resulted in a lethal disease wiping out most of humanity. A cure has never been discovered, and as such, anyone contracting this terminal disease, named the "Black Scrawl", is beyond saving. You take control of a young man - who has unofficially been dubbed Nier by the gaming community, although you can name him whatever you like - whose younger sister, Yonah, contracts the very same "Black Scrawl" condition. On top of that, the world has been plagued for centuries by strange entities called "Shades" who threaten the existence of the remaining clusters of humans. Nier sets out to try and desperately find a cure for Yonah while fighting the Shades with the help of an all-powerful magic talking tome called "Grimoire Weiss" (which is perhaps one of the coolest talking books in fiction ever), a mysterious woman named "Kainé" and a blindfolded boy named "Emil" who has the ability to petrify anything with his eyes. Aside from visuals and voice-overs getting a big tune-up, combat has been overhauled as part of the rework, supervised by a PlatinumGames producer who did a fantastic job with Automata's super fluid movement and combat and applied the same mechanics here. There are plenty of weapons to find and upgrade with resources, so there's room to pick a specific playstyle. Grimoire Weiss acts as your ranged attack, allowing you to fire magical projectiles at enemies, and Kainé and Emil help out as your AI coop partners. The more enemies you eliminate, the more "Words" you add in your tome. These words are essentially perks you can equip on your personal weapons and magic attacks. Boss fights are all memorable at the least and carry narrative weight as you pursue every ending NieR Replicant has to offer, but more on that in a few paragraphs. And for those of you who love your in-game fishing or gardening (cricket chirping ensues), you have the ability to do so as well. However! As i bring this praiseful platinum post to a screeching halt for a minute: not everything in this definitive edition is a joy to experience. You'll need to do a fair bit of backtracking in pretty much all locations. These moments serve the plot pretty well, but regardless: you'll be visiting the same environments often. And the sidequests, despite yielding very solid monetary rewards in the second half of the game, are - I'm not going to even attempt and sugarcoat this a little bit - downright boring. Functioning as fetch quests, you'll kill a specific Shade here and there, collect pelts, vegetables, delivering mail, and so much more like some kind of shameless errand boy. Not even a glorified one at that. I'm already making it sound like this game has some big faults and hence should be cautiously approached. Nothing could be further from the truth: I highly recommend NieR Replicant and Automata! Highly. Why is NieR Replicant so memorable then? Its story, first of all. It tells a gripping tale which extends far beyond the relationship between Nier and his sister. The scope of the story's events is pretty massive once the finale sinks in and you realize the true meaning of everything. It defies traditional game design, making you replay the game multiple times to get the full experience. Whereas the average game lets you pick an ending based on choice, the endings in the NieR games all matter and are - mostly - stacked: each grants one big part of the narrative puzzle, meaning that with each New Game Plus playthrough, you'll see additional cutscenes and hear new dialogues, granting the final remaining pieces of the story. Perspective changes literally and figuratively: there's a unique combination of gameplay sections to keep things fresh. Not just that: the philosophical questions it throws your way subtly challenge you to question your actions as a player, and revolve around one big main theme: (self-)conscience. Extra playthroughs granting you a new perspective on what has transpired and what you've done, will change your view on characters and confrontations from badass or terrifying to heart-wrenching. There are definitely funny moments sprinkled around as well, but the main focus is tragedy. It would not be amiss to state that NieR Replicant could easily be dubbed "Feel Like Shit: The Game". This is not a gleeful little adventure. This is a mature and dramatic story, displaying how - again - the black-and-white characteristics of the average story are often one-dimensional, no matter how enjoyable other stories might be. The world of NieR is a very ambiguous one, and you'll experience the entire spectrum of emotions as everything unfolds. It will stick with you once you completely finished the game and put down your controller. For a long time. And the soundtrack is STELLAR. All caps. If Ghost of Tsushima's soundtrack is able to set the ground ablaze, NieR Replicant's soundtrack deserves to soar like a musical comet across the sky. It belongs to the best soundtracks I have ever heard in my life. There's a very good reason why Automata's OST won Soundtrack of the Year in 2017, and if Replicant's OST is allowed to participate this year as well (as a revised work), then I am willing to bet we already have our soundtrack winner of 2021. Even with those outdated, yet completely optional sidequests taken into account, NieR Replicant is a work of art and is living proof that video games can spark moral and ethical discussions beyond the fabric of the design itself. It is thought-provoking. it is heartbreaking. It is unique. Most frustrating trophy - Forging Master So, we talked about how unforgettable the overall experience is. The trophy list will give you a run for your money, however: all those optional activities? Yeah, you'll need to take those head-on. Catching the biggest fish in the game? That's part of the list. So is cultivating the Legendary Flower in your garden, which is the trophy I considered to put here initially. Growing that flower takes over an actual real-life week if you don't speed up the process by fiddling with the console's date and time settings! But the one that really lengthened the game unnecessarily, and broke the natural pacing of an otherwise captivating story, is "Forging Master", forcing you to upgrade 33 weapons fully (out of a total of 37 if you include the four free DLC weapons), to the fourth and highest level. Yet another drawn-out trophy which just feels pointless. Why do I need to upgrade 33 different weapons when I'll stick to my favorite one anyway? You can mitigate this along the way by grinding a bit early on and trying to gather the many various resources without having to collect everything later if you've been postponing this one. But you still will be searching frantically for very rare materials which cost a lot of time and only spawn if luck is in your favor. After a few days, I got fed up with trying to find Broken Wristwatches, Forlorn Necklaces, Damascus Steel or Broken Earrings. But those are not the worst. Two of the most irksome materials to collect, are Black Pearls and Memory Alloys. These two alone took me many hours to amass. If I need to find just one more Black Pearl or Memory Alloy, I'm afraid one of the veins on my forehead may actually pop. Pro tip: if you want an overall great weapon from the very beginning which deals tons of damage throughout the entire game, download the free DLC pack "4 YoRHa", which adds four weapons from Automata to your starting arsenal in NieR Replicant. Upgrading those will help you become really strong from the very beginning, and those upgraded weapons don't just count towards the total of 33 as well, they're easier than some of the other ones to upgrade. It's not much, but any little bit helps, right?
Popular Post Toast_On_Cheese
Borderland Defender (#40)You have defeated all bosses and are a powerful force to be reckoned with Decided to finish of Borderlands after realising I had got most of the trophies I needed about a decade ago. Thanks 11 year old me, probably wouldn't have bothered to finish it off if I hadn't already done most of it years ago. Originally planned to have number 40 be Fallout 3, but this is a pretty good number 40 for me, I'm glad it was a sentimental game for me. Glad to finish off my personal challenge of doubling my platinum count in a year with 7 and a half months spare. A decade ago I would recommend this as a good game with a platinum that isn't too difficult, but now the trophy "And They'll Tell Two Friends" is pretty tricky on the dead servers. Unless you've already got it I'd avoid this if you're the type of person who only goes for platinums.

Popular Post AihaLoveleaf
#7 - Resident Evil 5 (PS3) RESIDENT EVIL 5 Platinum Trophy"Congratulations! You've overcome all your fears in RESIDENT EVIL 5!" Rarity: 14.71% (Rare) Difficulty: 4/10 Base Game, 5/10 DLC Enjoyment: 7/10 Time to Completion: 9 years, 7 months While the gaming world was playing and enjoying Village, I was getting caught up on Resident Evil 5. In my quest for account completion %, which this game gave me plenty of, I also claimed 100% on this game by doing all of the DLC trophies for that nice looking S rank on my trophy list. A lot of people have played this game at least once by now, so no point in me trying to tell you what this game is. It's Resident Evil 5. You run, you gun, and have some fun. You also pray your AI partner doesn't get you killed when things get heated. Coming back to this game was good fun, as I expected. When this game came out, my brother and I played a ton of co-op sessions on his Xbox 360, so much so that the disc formed a crack from all the awesomeness and we had to buy a new copy of the game (actually I think it was because 360 games had some weird cases at the time that deathgripped the center of the disc, but anyway). It's interesting to see how critical opinion of this game has come around in recent years. I remember at the time the game was new, a lot of people were still burned by the transition of the series to Action/Adventure, and some people were immediately writing this game off as garbage. Nowadays, this game seems to be almost universally enjoyed, and I rarely see negative commentary at this point. As somebody who had loved Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube, my opinion of the fifth game was positive right from the get-go. As for the Platinum experience, it's overall pretty easy. The base game doesn't ask a whole lot of you, and the collectables are pretty manageable. You might find yourself doing a bit of grinding for money or points to upgrade weapons or unlock figurines and infinite ammo, but it was fairly minimal as I got most of my money from replaying the storyline a few times over to unlock the Infinite Rocket Launcher and Professional mode. In Professional mode it's possible to die in 1-2 hits, but even the game's hardest difficulty is mostly pretty easy to get through due to the fact that this game carries over your weapon upgrades between playthroughs and gives you access to infinite ammo once you've earned it. This game is easy to recommend going for Platinum on even if one is normally really bad at third person shooters, as between the Shotguns and eventually the Rocket Launcher, you can just spray and pray even on Professional mode. As for the DLC trophies, some of them are good, and some of them are bad. I played Lost In Nightmares and Desperate Escape for the first time while going for 100%. Each one gives you a single level of gameplay that you can finish in about the same time it would take you to finish one or two levels of the base game's storyline. Lost In Nightmares and Desperate Escape were enjoyable for what they were, though I think if I had paid full price for them back in the day I might have felt a little cheated. As an inclusion to the Gold Edition though I can give them the stamp of approval. In terms of difficulty, the DLC is significantly harder than the main game if you're playing them without a guide, but with a guide the difficulty rating only goes up to a 5 at most. The cheese strat alone at the end of Desperate Escape saved it from being an 8/10 so make sure you're using that if you ever go to play it on Professional. The fun stops though when it's time to play Versus mode. The PS3 version of this game asks you to get 30 wins each in four different modes of play, two of which require four players. Expect your boost sessions here to be very long and very boring, especially if you're win trading (which you should, don't be a bad boost buddy!). Shoutout to my boost buddy @binario8 for sticking it out through the weekend grind with me, I wouldn't have gotten this done before Monday without his help. The highlight of my boost session though was going for the 40 combo kill trophy in Team Slayers (It Takes Two to Tango). In my opinion it's easily the hardest trophy in the game because of the skill, timing and setup required to boost this trophy efficiently. It took us about 9 rounds to finally hit that 40 combo, and there was definitely some gamer rage before the end, the most painful attempt being a 39 combo getting ended by the timer running out just as I was making the kill shot with my Longbow. There are guides for the trophy on YouTube though, so as long as you camp the spots where monsters like to spawn and space out your enemy kills to give time for new ones to spawn, this trophy is pretty doable. Overall, if you're a player that only cares about Platinum, it's easy to recommend Resident Evil 5 to almost any gamer, as almost any gamer can plat this game. If you have to have 100% though, then I can really only recommend this to fans of the series, because the Versus grind is real. Very real.

The plat isn't terribly hard if you don't use a guide, as you're just mostly leveling up traits and careers. However, intense lag makes this one hard. I fast forwarded most of the gameplay, listened to a good industrial playlist, and three hours were over in a snap. Some of the career trophies took longer; the entertainer and mixologist both took two in-game work days, and I had to load the Basketcase and Grim Reaper families three times for the trophies to work. Also, the Circle of Life trophy popped a few max traits ones as well. I am keeping this game; I love character creation and managing households (I don't know why, tbh) and this game is perfect for relaxing.

Popular Post Biertje373
Platinum #33 Days Gone One PercenterGo above and BEYOND, unlocking every trophy in Days Gone Difficulty: 2.5/10 Fun: 7/10 I got this game thanks to the PS5 PS+ games but I wasn't really planning to play it but I had to think of something to play so a week and a bit ago I remembered that I have this game and while I did not love it, I did enjoy it. The positives: I really enjoyed driving through the world, learning about the people, seeing what they were doing and how they were trying to survive in their own way. I loved many of the story bits, some of the twists, love moments and betrayals. I loved some of the songs, they really fit the style of the game. I enjoyed that there were so many types of zombies, while not all of them were fun, most of them were fun to fight and take down. Some of the weapons were really cool especially the melee weapons. The NERO stuff was super interesting. The negatives in my eyes. There were only a handful of characters that I cared about, some of them I wanted to be gone, others I just did not care about. However, the characters that I liked, I really liked them. The hordes weren't my favourite thing, they were very resource consuming and resource take a while to get, and I know that that's the point but it wasn't my thing. Bugs, glitches and 1 crash... what more is there to say. Having to wait for the postgame story bits took a bit too long for my liking. Leveling up wasn't that fun, I know that that sounds silly, but I expected to get the platinum yesterday but skill level 45 doesn't mean 45 skills. So while the game has its pro's and cons, I liked the game, it's kind of a shame that there isn't going to be a 2nd game, because they can make it better. I do hope that they change their minds one day, but until that day I will just keep playing other games. Sadly the platinum screenshot is not super interesting but here it is:
Popular Post No longer here
#124 - Returnal 6.5/10 Difficulty 9.5/10 Fun PSNP Rarity: 7.50% PSN Rarity: 0.5% Definitely one of the most fast paced and intense games I played in a while. The developers HouseMarque created a game that basically puts all their games that the created in the past into this high budget game. The gunplay and movement is so smooth and the boss fights are amazingly designed. While also the PS5 is able to maintain 60 FPS throughout the intensity. This is technically my first rogue-like platinum, since I couldn't complete Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon. The fact that this genre is became a AAA game, gives me hope that more of these games out like this in the future. I had played some of HouseMarque's previous entries such as Resogun and Nex Machina, and man those games were addicting and fun! I was able to platinum both of them and they are the easiest plats at all. But this game blew me away on how they were able to budget this and make it an exclusive on PS5! The trophies weren't bad but needed skill and patience, the game is not everyone and not many people will have the plat. The grind for the final trophies can put many off and make the plat rarer. But since I loved this game it didn't really bother me at all. So I am glad I was able to include this on my collection! Prob my game of the year so far! This is also one of a handful of playstation exclusives that won't have a high rarity by PSNP AND PSN standards. Skill can be as daunting as Bloodborne (Fav gave btw) and grindy such as any rogue-like. Hope people don't give up on the rare plat! For 125th it will be Resident Evil Village (another damn good game by Capcom).
Popular Post Charizarzar
#141: Subnautica Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Glad I decided to stick this out and not use the dev menu approach. There were maybe three times where I was sorely tempted to scrap everything and do it that way: close to the start of the game where I still had the basic oxygen tank and no means of transport, once when I spent maybe two hours trying to find the aptly named Lost River in my gigantic submarine that I couldn't see a thing out of, and another where my game crashed after I'd made a ton of story progress. Building and being able to whizz around in the Seamoth was the game-changer for me though, the game becomes a lot more fun when you're not desperately scavenging around for tiny chunks of copper and titanium and giving yourself the bends trying to reach the surface in time. It's also beautiful to look at, the base-building is a fun aspect and the story is surprisingly pretty decent. The loading times and crashes were a big bummer, but it's definitely one of the better Play at Home offerings. Kudos to ThePhatMatt for such a well-detailed guide!
Popular Post Ghost
Developed by Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games. Thanks to these guys it was nice to feel the nostalgia of having a Genesis when I was a child in the mid 90's. Gameplay was great, bosses were fun to fight, and it was fun to link combos together. Some enemies were very annoying though. I have to praise the level of detail on the stages. They did a fantastic job with that, the new music soundtrack and having the option to selecting the old school soundtrack. It was a challenging I did everything solo and my total playtime was 59 hours. I struggled particularly with getting S ranks of Stage 4, 9 and 12. It was pretty tough to keep a combo going on those levels. Beating hard mode in one shot without getting Game Over was challenging, but using Axel Stone from SOR1 was very helpful. I had a blast playing it, the grind toward to end to get 5 million points was boring however as I finished everything with 4 million points. Now I look forward to DotEmu's next release: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge

Popular Post PooPooBlast
#158 and 100% Fallout 4 85 hours, 48 minutes later and here we are! Fallout 4 pits you in the shoes of a vault dweller whose son (Shaun , *heavy rain flashbacks*) got kidnapped and you have to venture into the wasteland to find him. Story was pretty decent but I find that as usual with Bethesda games, the lack of cutscenes and a crap ton of dialogue especially in the midst of shooting and looting, causes many plot details or "emotional" moments to go over someone's head. That's not why you'd play this game however. The exploration in the game was some of the best I've ever experienced. There are soooooo many buildings and places that you can enter in the wasteland. It's packed full of explorable areas and missions that even with my play time, I'd wager I only finished about 55-60% of it. So this was definitely a strong pro about the game. Not to mention, the ambient soundtrack was top notch and felt incredibly atmospheric. It was so easy to get lost in the world and spend 45mins to an hour on just one building.. And the weapons and upgrading said weapons were also done well. Nothing feels gratifying as much as using my LEGENDARY BIG BOY NUKE WITH A MIRV UPGRADE. Basically, the legendary status added 2 nukes for one nuke and the MIRV upgrade multiplied everything by 4. So I was essentially shooting 8 nukes . Easily my favourite weapon in the game. If that sounds cool you can go to 1:08 in the video below . Trophy wise, it's relatively straight forward as long as you pay attention to the missables. As for the DLCs, the worst trophy had to be gathering 100,000 tickets from the Nuka arcade. No idea why they made a grindy trophy from such a mundane activity. Thankfully the internet found a somewhat bizarre exploit and so here's me literally teabagging the arcade machine all while getting tickets at a much faster pace than what Bethesda had originally and intentionally programmed . If that's not poetic justice then I don't know what is! Spoiler All in all, fallout 4 was a pretty solid experience. Would definitely recommend! Popular Post slender_adrian
- Lollipop Chainsaw - #67 Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Perv... GAME THOUGHTS This is probably one of the funniest games I´ve played, truly, killing zombies hasn´t been this fun. This is one of those types of games that don't make any sense but is just awesome this way, being so ridiculous it's what makes this game great. I wanted to play this game for ages, but I never got the chance to get it, it's kinda weird how I ended with a new physical copy from this game after all this years. This game has a incredible gameplay, the combat is awesome, the aesthetics of the whole game are awesome, the influence of James Gunn is quite noticeable with all this Hollywood vibe making the game even better, and the soundtrack of this game is just perfect, you go from all this 80s rock n roll to freakin Metal (including a track from one of my favorite metal bands). My favorite boss battle was Zed's, killing a punk zombie that screams at you on top of a speaker it's priceless jaja, and Nick is probably the most sane character in the game besides being only a head, really felt bad for him some times. I felt this game really short, I did 4 playthroughs just for pure fun, I have to say that I experience a weird glitch with the Chainsaw Blaster, while aiming it wen't crazy this happened a couple of times since the 2nd playthrough, besides that, this game is a gem and fun as hell (almost forgot to say, I loved those HOTD costumes jaja). THE TROPHY HUNT Getting the platinum for this game was really easy, I really liked the trophy list it isn't a boring one, if I had to pick the hardest trophy I'll go with No Fear Of Heights, took me a couple of tries but nothing to crazy. Personally the trophy list is just perfect, I don't mean it's easy instead fun, it doesn't go crazy with the trophies like other games. So if you are going for the plat you will have a lot of fun no matter what. Fin...

JaguarFrasse
Platinum #36 Battlefield 1 Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment 7/10 Very good multiplayer but the campaign is truly atrocious at times IMO. Still, I had fun with it but not sure if I recommend.
