Popular Post LastMinuteSavior
HeroObtain all Killzone Shadow Fall trophies Still a very good looking game. Gameplay is mostly great too. It's a shame a chunk of the campaign feels like a walking simulator because, for the most part, this is a very impressive sci-fi action adventure with amazing locations and thrilling action set pieces. The online competitive multiplayer - soon to be closed - is pretty fun too, almost as good as Killzone 2 was. Wish I had tried it sooner. All in all, I had a good time going back to this and clearing it from my backlog. Also, I got a cool Platinum video out of it:

PondNewt
Platinum #102: Riders Republic (PS5) Solid sequel to Steep with a step up made in some regards over the earlier game in terms of the way you navigate around the map and the addition of more competitive multiplayer modes. When it comes to trophies it's easier than Steep as well though there is a focus this time on PVP with some of the trophies. Thankfully these are participate only so you don't have to win. Overall it's more grindy than hard though I did think a couple of trophies were slightly tougher than the rest. These particular two being one for completing stunts (though they get a lot easier once you're more experienced with the game) and another for capturing districts in tricks battle. Those aside it's pretty much plain sailing though it seems slightly glitchy in that sometimes you have to complete more events/objectives than stated in order to unlock the relevant trophy. I probably had a better time with Steep overall as that was more snow based which was my preference but this was still a fine game which I'd definitely recommend. I'd place it at around a 4/10 difficulty overall for the platinum by todays standards though if you only play triple A style games it's probably more of a 3/10. To obtain the platinum it took me around 50-55 hours. Edited July 31, 2022 by PondNewt
Popular Post Cave Johnson
Neptunia Virtual Stars We're Virtual Stars! You've gotten all trophies! Don't forget to like and subscribe! “Join Neptune and the other CPUs as they team up with the new VTuber group MEWTRAL to battle against the evil Antis in this shooter and hack-and-slash game created to c̶a̶s̶h̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶V̶T̶u̶b̶e̶r̶ ̶c̶r̶a̶z̶e̶ celebrate 10 years of Nep.” - Wdog-999 The introduction in the trophy guide summarizes this game better than I could, and does so in only one sentence. I could probably just leave it at that, but l suppose I should add my own experience with the game. It’s (annoyingly) part of my nature to be somewhat of a contrarian, so I had no interest in VTubers after witnessing the rise of Kizuna Ai, then seeing the rapid increase in popularity of VTubers in general. Because of this, I know next to nothing about VTubers, and went into the game mostly blind in that respect. I was able to at least recognize a few of them by name or appearance, but as for how or why—well, I’m not going to elaborate on that. Either way, no real knowledge of VTubers is required, though being a fan of some of them likely would’ve made the game more enjoyable (to some degree). I say “to some degree” due to the limited role VTubers have in the game, which I’d imagine would be disappointing to most fans; they mainly show up on loading screens, and to offer (mostly pointless) support in battle. Anyway, I bought this game solely because it is a Nep spinoff, and I more or less got what I paid for. Oddly enough, this game has two completely different styles of combat that can be switched between at will. When controlling any of the usual four main characters, (Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert) the combat is somewhat of a third person shooter, whereas the four original VTuber characters utilize a hack and slash style reminiscent of past (mediocre) action spin-offs. It’s possible to play almost the entire game using only one of them, which is what I did. While I liked the original VTuber characters, I couldn’t bring myself to play as them because of the gameplay. I felt as if I were playing Action Unleashed or Blanc vs. Zombies, and I could do without experiencing that again. The hack and slash style as a whole seems to be underpowered relative to the third person shooter style, further making it less appealing. Maybe I didn’t give it enough of a chance, but I didn’t care then, and still don’t care now. I wouldn’t be surprised if the hack and slash combat was recycled from one of the previous entries and tacked on later as a sort of afterthought. Regardless, balancing both the dungeons and enemies so that they work with two entirely different kinds of combat would be very difficult to pull off, and I certainly wouldn’t expect that to be done well in one of these spin-offs. Given the choice, I decided I’d rather take my chances with the newer style of combat. Unfortunately, it’s also not that great. I played the entire game with aim assist off, which I wouldn’t recommend. I should’ve swallowed my pride and left it on, but that’s just who I am. The difficulty this added to the game is negligible, and if anything, it made some flaws more apparent. Put simply, the hitboxes in this game aren’t good. With larger enemies it’s hard to notice, but becomes very obvious when trying to take down some of the smaller ones. One such enemy, which is basically the twitter logo with sunglasses and a rocket launcher, is annoying to hit; it’s possible to shoot this motherfucker right between the eyes and still miss somehow. There's also a fly enemy that spams projectiles and is similarly difficult to hit, but I can't remember its name right now. This is where auto aim likely would’ve helped had I used it. The trophy guide for this game rates the difficulty as 2/10, and I’d say that’s accurate. None of the bosses posed a threat whatsoever, and the whole game in general was a breeze. There’s hardly any post-game to speak of; rehashing bosses from the main story doesn’t really add anything to the game. At this point I’ve nearly run out of things to say, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I don’t care to say more about this game. For me, I felt the main story was just sort of there; I didn’t dislike it, but I couldn’t get invested in it, either. Once I got the platinum, I shelved the game almost immediately. It suffers from the same problems as many of the other spin-offs in this series—limited character roster, lacking in content, subpar gameplay, etc. I’m trying not to be bitter here, but that’s easier said than done when on paper, the series looks like this: I know, I’ve been complaining about this for years. Would it kill them to make a new game that is part of the main series, though? With the way it’s being avoided, perhaps they do think they would die from it. At least the recent crossover with Senran Kagura is pretty good; more on that in a moment. Also, after seeing many of the loading screens I mentioned earlier, and this video in the Neotube Plaza, by the time I finished Virtual Stars I may have sort of, possibly, maybe, kind of, perhaps taken an interest in Mitsurugi Lia. I wanted to say that “I refuse to concede!”, but I’m already subscribed to her channel, and am listening to her cover versions of songs as I type this… goddamnit. Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars Nep Nep! Ultimate Ninja Master! Proof that you've played through Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars. Thank you for saving Gamninjustri! Senran Kagura seems to be more or less dead as a series, so I was surprised to see it make a comeback in this way. Combining these two series, which differ greatly in terms of story, setting, and gameplay, resulted in a Nep action game that is worthy of being described as “good”. While it does have some of the same problems I mentioned earlier, most notably the lack of playable characters, it’s on a different level than the mediocre action games that came before. I guess it took being paired with Senran Kagura to finally get an action game that doesn’t suck. Taking some of the best aspects from both series, this crossover feels more like a Senran Kagura game when it comes to the gameplay and setting, whereas the story doesn’t. An example of the more “nep-like” dialogue present in this game. The localization can also be a bit stupid at times, but that’s nothing new. Overall, I’d say the story is better than Virtual Stars, but not by a whole lot. Part of this is due to the fact that it all feels like a huge missed opportunity. Seriously, where the hell are all the characters? There are only four playable characters from both series—Asuka, Homura, Yumi, and Miyabi from Senran Kagura, and the other four should be obvious. (There are also two new playable characters, which I’ll cover a little bit later.) The possibilities for character interactions could’ve been endless, which would’ve led to far more interesting scenes. Instead, this aspect of the crossover feels either half-assed, rushed, or maybe some combination of both. At the very least, they could have offered some characters as DLC. In fact, that’s typically what one would expect to happen in a case such as this—leave out characters, then sell them back as DLC later. A shitty business practice, sure, but I’d rather have that than nothing. I find it puzzling that these spin-offs never utilize this tactic. Gacha games have already proven that some will throw hundreds of dollars at a game just for a chance to get their favorite characters, so paying somewhere under ten dollars or so for one guaranteed character is hardly unthinkable in comparison. I know there’s a big difference between mobile games and a single player console game such as this one, but even then, I think my point still stands. Anyway, I already criticized Virtual Stars enough, so from here on out I’d rather focus on the positives in this game. This seiyuu joke strongly appealed to me. For those that don’t get it, I threw together a quick image to make it easy to understand. Going back to the two new playable characters, Goh and Yuuki, I didn’t call them “original characters” because only one of them is. According to the wiki, Goh “is a genderbent version of the amnesiac protagonist of Shinobido: Way of the Ninja”. This reference would’ve been completely lost on me had I not heard about the characters prior to playing the game. She is fun to play as thanks to her quick attacks and skills with (relatively) little endlag. Yuuki isn’t based on any existing characters as far as I know, and her character design is quite something, to put it one way. She’s voiced by Miku Itou, which I likely wouldn’t have guessed based on Yuuki’s appearance. Regardless, she does a fantastic job, and is probably the main reason I came to like the character so much. It’s never explained why, but Yuuki wears cat ears and a tail, and has huge… claws that she uses as a weapon. Unexpectedly, she ended up being my favorite character to play as, although I wish her skills would’ve had less endlag. This problem isn’t exclusive to just her though, as this game has a slight problem with endlag that can’t be cancelled. [Wait, “cancelled” is usually spelled with one “l” and not two in American English? I must be a failure of an American, because “canceled” looks horribly wrong to me.] Neptune referencing Final Fantasy IV, much to the confusion of the other characters. This is the part where I’d talk about how the trophies don’t demand enough, but that’s not quite true this time. The only real problem I have with the trophy list is that there isn’t a trophy for reaching max level with all characters, or at least one of them. Only requiring one character to reach level 50 seems lame to me. What happened to the pointless grind trophies that serve no real purpose? I know this sounds sarcastic, but I’m being (somewhat) serious. Rather than shelving this game soon after getting the platinum, I took it upon myself to level every character to 99 (max level in this game). It took about an additional seven to eight hours of grinding after finishing Yomi Training at somewhere around level 64. I split the grind up over three days, so it was nothing. Do you know why I did this meaningless grind? “Because I felt I had to.” [I got inspired to throw in a completely unrelated game reference of my own.] Anyway, speaking of Yomi Training, I had heard about its difficulty long before playing this game, which allowed me to be somewhat prepared for it. Contrary to what I heard about it, these missions were rather easy. I can imagine why they might have seemed difficult at first—with how easy the rest of the game is, a difficulty spike like this one can be jarring. Even so, the platinum difficulty shouldn’t be any higher than Virtual Stars. As I sort of mentioned previously, my highest level character (which was Yuuki, of course) upon finishing the last mission was around 64. With Yomi Training being that easy then, were someone to take the time to grind to a higher level, I’m sure it would become almost impossible to fail. After these two games I’m almost caught up with all of the spin-offs again. I haven’t played Neptunia ReHashVerse yet, either, whatever that counts as; I’ll be waiting for a sale before I buy that game for a third time. Maybe one day there will be a new title in the main series, and I can finally shut up about it. I wouldn’t count on that happening though.
Popular Post RoxasOnFire
3 more plats to add. I've been slacking on updating here... Plats 347-349: Assassins Creed Valhalla (PS4) I wish I could have utilized more autopops but I had to put over 65 hours into this version for trophies that didn't pop but mostly to get the damn single mastery point I'd already gotten on the ps5 version. Between replaying this game twice on PS5 and PS4 I've spent nearly 250 hours trying to clear up dlc and misc main game trophies lol. Thankfully I loved the game. Assassins Creed Valhalla (PS5) + all dlc minus bullshit mastery challenges. And lastly, Stray (PS5) The game was sad, had nice elements for puzzles I didn't expect but mostly that shitty trophy Can't Cat-ch Me almost made me not want to do the plat. I won't be doing the PS4 plat anytime soon thats for sure. Still a good game.

Popular Post No longer here
#168 - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Enjoyment/Rating: 9/10 Difficulty: 7/10 (haven't played DLC) Time: 25 Hours- ish PSNP Rarity: 2.36% PSN Rarity: 0.7% I finally got the PS3 out and decided to play some bangers since I made a new profile starting from PS4 (2013). Now I really wanted to get this game because I love action or hack and slash games. And I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED with this one! Combat was addictive and chaotic, while the story was meme-able but surprisingly had a lot of depth to offer. My complaints with the game has to do with the very short length (5 hours on 1st playthrough), the camera can ruin encounters and frustrate you, some intruding long cutscenes before a battle (except the last boss that shit was awesome) and some fps drops when things get wild (it is a PS3 game after all). This would be a 10/10 game for sure but the short story along with camera problems were to problematic to me at first. But honestly this is probably in my top 3 hack and slash games of all time! The game offers replayability at the highest value since the game is so short. The platinum was pretty difficult but thanks to many youtube guides and strategies, the game went by more quickly than I thought. I got into the combat system pretty early on and practiced my perfect parries and evades, which would help so much on my Revengeance playthrough! The VR missions imo were the worst part of the plat, being VR #18 the worst of them all. Luckily, it did not take me long at all as I was doing the VR missions as I went along the story, and of course a lot of helpful guides really eased the pain the VR missions would've given me. Overall this game was pretty amazing. I would go on all day about the fun I had from the get go. Now that I have a PS3 again I can go back through time and play some games I would love to add to my collection, or just to simply play them. I fully recommend this game for any action fan because it's just too chaotic not to play!
mega-tallica
Splatterhouse Was far easier than I thought it was going to be honestly. The 4th and 5th survival arenas were the only real annoying part just because you don't know what's coming in those final waves so if you aren't prepared and have your special meter filled going in it's easy to get bombarded by mini-boss enemies and die in the final wave especially in the 5th arena where they really throw a lot at you in that final wave. Then you have to replay another 20 minutes of gameplay just to get another stab at it. The 4th one I just ran out of time for an S-rank but I still managed to beat both on my 2nd try. All the other ones are stupid easy. The weaponized grab skill and Splatter Smash make most of this game a complete pushover, even on brutal difficulty as you can basically keep your special meter filled all the time and then just abuse Splatter Smash when you have a lot of enemies near you and on mini-bosses to take them out in 1-2 hits. Pretty good game overall just has a lot of fundamental flaws (ie. poor hit boxes at times, wonky camera, cheap deaths, too many quick time events, poor load times, etc.). Glad I decided to revisit this game and play it again after so many years.
Jermster_91
#107 Black Mirror This game was something. The story was intriguing and interesting yet not without its faults. The game runs well but the graphics look like it was built for the PS3 or Xbox 360, not the PS4 or Xbox One when it happened to release in 2017. I ran into a few bugs, the most common be little micro freezes that would briefly pause the gameplay. The other bug that I happened to encounter was when the audio seemed to lag behind a cutscene. Overall, if you are looking for a game that is on the short side, under 5 hours, and had a interesting story that makes you think, than this game is for you.
Popular Post Redgrave
#251: Atelier Ryza - Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout Alternative title could be called "Atelier Ryza & The Filtering of Redgrave" since despite this being the more newcomer friendly of the series from my understanding I got confused on the crafting and how to approach some things. But maybe that title will be in a sequel... But yeah, I figured I would play this since I bought it a while ago and figured I would give it a try. I feel like I had a hard time getting the crafting system down until I was almost done with the Platinum and I'm not really sure why. I guess I found it a bit complex and despite reading the tutorial I still couldn't really get the hang of it early on. I guess it's more of a me thing since I'm not used to doing much alchemy in games and I guess that the system in this game is still tailored for people familiar with the games. Not that I'm advocating they change it to somehow make it even more streamlined to appeal to people like me since if they did it would be so barebones that I would even find it off-putting. I will say though that it was a bit frustrating trying to find something helpful because pretty much everywhere I looked I would see advice for people that are under the impression I should just "know" things from playing the other games or they would all link to the same guides that tell you to use a min-max method that you can't even really do until post-game because there's a specific item you need. I guess at the very least I can say I got a better grasp on it when I was nearly done with the Platinum. Despite all that I do think it's a genuinely good game and I liked Ryza and the other party members. I feel like the story was over kind of quick but I kind of liked the whole thing about how Ryza and her friends want to make a secret hideout to get away from their problems at their homes. It had its own kind of adventurous charm to it. And when I did get to min-max equipment I didn't fully utilize it like some people did to where everything was at 999 quality and they had near-invincible armor on and such but I did get some pretty good gear that made the higher level enemies pretty easy and I managed to tank some attacks that I definitely feel like I shouldn't have so I can at least appreciate that you can do that since I like that kind of thing. So yeah, I think it's a game worth checking out for sure. There is one thing about the story that I found kind of odd though that involves the character Lent. I'm not sure if it's a spoiler but I will put one there anyway. Spoiler There's a part early on where Lent is getting his wounds treated that were caused by his abusive dad and despite them just dropping the fact there's an abusive parent that violently hits his son, the music is kind of whimsical and the way the dialogue is written it's treated like it's a "Ah one of those days huh?" ordeal. In the same cutscene Lent is also told that he's wallowing in self-pity and that he just needs to deal with it so the whole cutscene just felt really weird. I guess the abusive father thing gets resolved near the end of the game because Lent says something about standing up to him but the way it was handled entirely felt really strange. Not long after the cutscene where the abusive father situation is first mentioned, Ryza gets upset because her mom tells her that other people in the village are calling her weird because she practices alchemy and she seems more upset at that than her friend having a father that beats him. I don't know, I guess I'm just used to the topic of parental abuse being treated in a more heavy handed way and it playing a bigger part of the story instead of kind of a secondary plot that no one really talks about at all. I think it would have been sweet of Ryza to want to do something about it and there's a moment where she helps Lent confront his father. I suppose this could be attributed to there being no side-character quests in this one since from my understanding the other games have companion quests so maybe there was an intent to have something like that happen but because they didn't or couldn't implement those quests maybe they just left it as is. Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #238 Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy [PS5] This Is What We DoWin every trophy. Been awhile since I played this, but just doing the clean up I had more glitches. It's a great game, but man is it glitchy. I had animation glitches in the final boss where dodging only moved your legs. The upper body was static. It was very amusing honestly. A lot of instances where the game wouldn't progress without reloading a checkpoint. Lots of visual glitches. I'm just glad you don't have to 100% the game to get the platinum because going through to get 65% I realized how much there is to actually do and get to fill everything out 100%. The story and characters were great, I wish this had come out before Avengers so it wasn't sabotaged. Didn't help that SE barely talked about this game up until release, which is exactly how they did Avengers other than showing off one bland area of the intro until the trash beta. I might eventually do the platinum again on PS4. I don't know, with the glitches on PS5 I'd be concerned about that. The one main criticism of the game itself, well it's more just the general trend in gaming, is the visor. I don't like games with 'vision' modes because then you can't appreciate the art design or level design of a game. You end up just looking for things via the various 'visions' provided. And this was no different. Going through the game again was nice since I could appreciate the nice environments more. The choices actually do make a difference in how the story changes and what you can do later. Selling Groot or Rocket for example was a very different gameplay experience depending on the choice. Each ended the same manner, but the process toward that boss was very different. It's nice to see a game with effort put in. It's been 6 months since I last played it so can't get too specific. One other thing is I wish you could skip cutscenes. You can skip each dialog -sometimes-. I assume it's based on what's currently loaded. But if you could just skip it entirely that'd be nice given the ability to replay via NG+, and how it's required to 100%.

I remember originally playing the first Ape Escape on a demo disc back in 1999. I had to buy a cheap Analog controller to play it at the time, as it was the first game that required dual analog sticks in order to play it at all. Wouldn't have thought that 23 years later, I would finally get to play the full game for the first time, 4 console generations later, and with full trophy support. Overall, I quite enjoyed it. For it's time especially, it's really well done. Graphics are good, gameplay is good for a first-time use of the analog sticks especially, and the soundtrack is probably the best part, some great music in this. Due to it's short length, I was able to double up the plats once again quite quickly, as seems to be the case with most of the PS1 classics. 6 out of 10 done (so far), onto Everybody's Golf x 2 and Wild Arms x 2. Popular Post JoaLoft
#294 - Alan Wake Remastered If you felt intrigued by Control, you'll definitely want to play Alan Wake Remastered. You take on the role of famous and accomplished writer, Alan Wake, in this action-horror game. However, Alan has been suffering from a writer's block .He and his wife Alice take a vacation trip to the mountain town of Bright Falls, hoping to take his mind off of the condition. As night falls in their cabin, Alan hears a chilling shriek come from Alice, and she disappears into the nearby lake. Alan jumps after her and suddenly wakes up a week later at night behind the steering wheel of a crashed car. Nightmarish enemies start stalking him in the dark mountain woods and around town, the fog is abnormally thick and a dark presence is spreading. On top of that, Alan comes across pages of a manuscript he supposedly wrote but doesn't remember writing, which describe the events happening before his eyes, Plenty of mystery surrounding Bright Falls and Alan Wake's situation, as he searches for his wife and uncovers what's behind the paranormal events. The entire setup of the game consists of episodes, like a TV series: complete with cliffhangers at the end of episodes and "Previously On Alan Wake" summaries at the start of each new episode. They essentially function as big chapters, but are designed like episodes to put a big emphasis on story investment. And it works beautifully. You'll want to keep playing after every episode to find out how the story continues to unravel. There's several reasons why Alan Wake achieved cult status and maintains it in the hardcore gaming community after 10+ years. This is one of them. As it's an action-horror game, you'll be fighting possessed humans, flocks of paranormal ravens and poltergeist objects flinging at you. The crux of everything is the balance between light and darkness, and that's how the gameplay works too. In one hand, Alan wields firearms such a revolver, a shotgun, a flare gun and a hunting rifle, equipped with flares and flashbangs, all to weaken enemies possessed by the darkness before he can shoot them. In the other, he is almost always equipped with a flashlight to help stop enemies in his path. That means you'll be scavenging supplies often, such as batteries, flares/flashbangs and ammunition wherever you can find them. It's a simple gameplay concept, but it's very solid, flexible and holds up very well in 2022. There's also a tactical element to it: when Alan pops a flare, all the enemies near him retreat and walk back, meaning you can force them into hazards and beat them in other non-conventional ways, by pushing them back over edges or into live electric wires. There's a certain dynamic that offers more than one set path of how to deal with enemies. Same goes for healing: there are no health kits in this game. Instead, Alan can heal when he stands in the light of a functioning electric lamp. And these spots also work as checkpoints: if you are low on health, you'll desperately try to reach that lamp in the distance to reach a checkpoint and heal at the same time. Why desperately? Because Alan Wake can get exhausted after sprinting for too long, and that makes you very vulnerable to groups of enemies catching up to you. And as mentioned: enemies can not survive in light, so if you enter the light, they mysteriously dissolve into the darkness. If they are bold enough to chase you and enter the light too, they instantly die. Lamps have multiple functions as such: they heal Alan, keep enemies away, are checkpoints, and help guide you in the right direction of each episode. What I love the most: there's a sense of risk and gamble in lots of situations in Alan Wake. Do I try to fight off the enemies surrounding me? Or do I book it to the next light? Or a combination of both? Defeating enemies gives me a better chance of survival, but will leave me with less supplies. Running will help save lots of supplies, but I might die from several blows in the back before I make it to the light. That freedom adds immensely to the experience and fun factor by taking away constraints yet not making the game a pushover, essentially. (Although, and I'm obligated to mention this: you'll find plenty of supplies in the game, even on the highest difficulty setting. So running away always is not worth the effort and the cost of respawning at the previous checkpoint, you're better off fighting enemies in around 50% of all encounters, give or take. But having the option during some of the more menacing battles is very welcome, indeed. Just remember the risk you're taking.) In certain parts, you'll also gain control of a car to drive to certain destinations. You can tell this is one of the gameplay mechanics that feels a little off, due to the clunky controls and slippery nature of some cars. They drive just fine, but they give away the fact that this game is over ten years old. It's never bothersome though, just worth pointing out. Headlamps of cars also help weaken enemies so you can run them over to dispatch them quickly. The controls on foot also suffer a small bit from clunkiness, but putting that into perspective, it's not something you'll trip over when you're playing. The remaster itself, from a graphical point of view, is a smart move: Alan Wake 2 has finally (!) been announced last year, continuing the exciting story that developer Remedy Entertainment has put together so long ago, and because of the improved lighting effects, the dynamic between light and dark looks beautiful at certain parts in the game. The graphics finally do the story setup justice with the modern visual effects. It's also a great way to introduce new gamers to a game which was exclusive for the longest time for Xbox and WIndows, before Alan Wake 2 drops next year. And this remaster comes with the two "Special Features" included AKA DLC chapters which take place after the finale of the base game. That's a full package right there. If you love an intriguing story, simple but unique gameplay mechanics and the concept of an action-horror TV show translated into a full-fledged game: Alan Wake is a game you can not miss out on. It hits all the right notes, and should be experienced before or after you played Control, which also got a stamp of approval from me. Both games are connected and demonstrate that something much more sinister is going on than just the local phenomenon at Bright Falls. Excited to see where this universe takes us next in Alan Wake 2 and Control 2! Recommended! Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! Although there are trophies for higher difficulties and the obligatory collectibles, there was no frustrating trophy here to speak of. The nature of the game allows you to simply skip a bunch of fights or encounters if you can make it alive to the next electric lamp for a checkpoint. Not an exploit - just part of the game design. You can tackle several fights this way without the game taking away some of the challenge on Nightmare difficulty (which is not as hard as it sounds, truth be told). I'm an advocate for useful collectibles, so I do want to add in that sense that finding the 100+ manuscript pages was interesting to read everything written down. Same goes for radio shows and TV shows you can find and listen to or watch. These are all great. The other collectibles, however, in particular the coffee thermoses? Useless and a waste of time. And Alan Wake Remastered has its fair share of collectibles. Hope they ditch those uninteresting ones and give us more valuable collectibles which deepen the lore.
Popular Post LastDevilman
Platinum #20: Fallout: New Vegas Obsidian does justice to a series I hold close to my heart. Although, I wouldn't recommend anyone get the ps3 port of the game. How it has remained as broken as it is, is beyond me. I'll just blame C E L L P R O C E S S I N G and Bethesda. Bethesda is an assembly line of garbage that has been consistently lowering its reputation with each new release, but I digress. The wasteland is especially harsh when you cannot let your save game file size too big or risk crashing with even minor actions. I love this game, but please, do not play the PS3 version, its more like an endurance tester for avoiding crashing the game. (pc with mods is the ideal) Platinum #21: Dead by Daylight An accomplishment 6 years in the making, sort of. My first true introduction to the asymmetric multiplayer, Dead by Daylight incorporates horror movies with multiplayer and I love it. You may spend many a game with useless teammates, or play a match as killer only to get insulted for ether winning OR losing. No matter. This is the internet and creating a semi competitive game is always going to attract those types. The real problem the game has is how much of a cash sink it is, and how that may be damaging the quality of the overall game, which would be much too long for me to get into and dont care to. To so some older players who may have thought the platinum to be too difficult back when it was a free game of the month on ps+ in like 2016, the trophies have been completely reworked, and really only a few trophies remaining challenging. Like the triple blink nurse trophy, but that too has been made much easier through the variety of teachable perks to grant undetectable or to inflict oblivious on survivors has made it a trophy you can accomplish in a few matches if you know what you're doing. There's also no trophy that requires a full team anymore, so if you remember that trophy getting 4 survivors in the hatch at the same time, its been replaced with something easier. Not sure how many people this advice will even apply to, but as a person who had no friends who played DbD, I had written off the platinum long ago, only to find it much easier than it was when i returned to the game years later.
Jermster_91
#108 Telling Lies This is a easy platinum for those looking for something on the short side, 3 hours or less. The solitaire related trophy game me a little more trouble that I was expecting however not to much trouble if you have played the game before.
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#395: Time to put things right Ugh, this game. I wish I could just say "It's Lego", but no, not this time. Granted, I don't plan to say a whole lot. Playing this game, I wanted to keep ripping into it, but being done with it, I just want to be that; DONE. I'll try to sum it up though. Annoying characters, stupid unenjoyable story, and loads of padded content. A game so bloated with copy-pasted mission setups and bosses, unintuitive menus and map systems. Loads of characters and vehicles that you will never play with, a combo system made useless by the trademark stud multipliers. Repetitive boss battles that are all "deal damage - health lock - deal damage". Enemies that are more annoying than challenging, not helped by the games insistence at throwing them at you in droves. The combat is sloppy and broken, with so many of your combo attacks whiffing, a useless partner likely to get in your way. Because the game has so many added characters and alter-egos for said characters that even the simple act of swapping characters becomes cumbersome. So yeah, I'm done.
