Introducing Our New Forum Mods!

Nice, we needed more mods. Although I hope there isn't a increase in censorship. I like to read a discussion and read both sides arguments.

I would also like to suggest that @TheYuriG becomes a dispute mod (if he wants it himself), for I see alot of useful comments of him in the disputes. It could help clear more disputes, lift the weight of the few shoulders the disputes mods have now. Just my 2 cents. :giggle:

Congrats to both of you!

I did found it odd when I saw @DaivRules named in green a bit ago.. As for @Beyondthegrave07, I probably didn't run into any thread that he was in since the promotion.

Still, it's good that we have 2 new mods (I don't remember your time zones, but I hope that this will allow better management of the bs that shows up late night, since at those times, either there's no mods around or the response is to slow and things get out of hand before threads get locked or deleted).

I help in some other way behind the curtains, but I don't think I'm actually fit to have that role. I'm actually garbage at flagging people and I give b1rvine a lot more work than he should need to have. Thanks for the suggestion either way, appreciate the thought. I think there should be another dispute mod stepping in soon though, so the current mods should get some extra assistance regardless.

Just because someone is lurking in the disputes forum doesn't make them fit for a mod role. Most of the comments there are usually pure toxicity. Plus MMDE and B1rvine are doing good (be better if they check my reports ?).not sure if Grimy is still around there.

I'm quite active there helping by request of the mods themselves, not sure why that's considered "lurking" since I'm doing quite the opposite of that. Feel free to point out which comments are toxic, maybe even report them to get removed. Maybe you would want to be more active there yourself instead and be helpful with the disputes? I don't really post in any disputes which already have the information I feel it's necessary was provided.

They all see your reports, I'm pretty sure. If the people you report don't get removed, it's because it's a false flag and they denied it.

If you have any other pending issues, please do DM me, as nothing you said is relevant to the topic of this thread.

My bros and broettes: instead of publicly calling people out and further derailing the thread by actively seeking confrontation, why don't you PM a moderator your concerns. If you've already done so, fantastic; speaking about it any further in public just constitutes trolling at this point.

Just be like me and troll people in your status updates: that's what it's for!

Congrats to the both of you.

@DaivRules I honestly didn't think that you would one day become a moderator for this site, since you were mostly in charge of running the PSNP Song Vote thread (or whatever the actual name is. It's been a long time so I forget lol :P :awesome:).

@BlindMango i've always wanted to know how the process went in regards to choosing who gets to become a moderator, or someone of a similar position on this site? I know that it involves coding and knowing a lot of HTML stuff, but is that all it takes? This is just me being curious.

You actually don't really need to know HTML to be a mod, though it would be helpful if you're on the guide team :P There's a lot of particular things we look for with each role, but a big thing is showing an interest in what you do (To be on the guide team, do you like writing guides, have you written a number of them, and do you understand the intricacies of what makes a guide good?) Things like that and more

The stuff about the Guide Team is understandable since anyone that has an understanding of the English language and can clearly give step-by-step details on how to obtain trophies/complete a certain objective becomes easier over time, but what about other positions unrelated to the Guide Team?

For work, I’m a training specialist for a mortgage servicing company and I train some super-geeky (aka my kind of) people in what is essentially data anomaly discovery through SQL queries and Excel filtering. I’m sure it would bore most of you right to sleep.

For a software developer as myself, this could be really interesting, even though I'm not much into SQL.

Anyways, congrats two both of you! I hope you guys help not just to maintain but improve the site :D!

All of us submitted a choice for the role, and I believe it was a unanimous submission. Time will tell.

...there are 6 people here that have forum mod abilities...

So... what I'm hearing is you guys actually need one more forum mod when there's a two three person stalemate xD
