Popular Post Boomshanks
( 45) Modnation Racers ModNation Legend Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 8/10 Wooooo, so glad I managed to get this before the servers close down. This one was quite a grind and a very difficult platinum for me. I struggled a lot with the Hot Lap trophy in particular. Getting in the top 10% of the Hot Lap track is incredibly difficult as there are a few dedicated Modnation players out there that score incredibly fast times each and every day. There is a glitch in the track which requires certain things to be done just right and it is extremely difficult to pull off, but you almost have to do it since the other players all use it to get their times as low as possible. Last month I signed in every day to do the hot lap and registered a total of over 400 laps without ever getting the glitch to work once. In the end I just got lucky and managed to get a somewhat decent score without the glitch which got me in the top 10 track times. Thank God this is finally over . I was seriously worried that single trophy was going to lock me out of the platinum forever. The game itself came out in 2010 and it promised to be the Mario Kart for Playstation, so I bought it straight away. You can play with 4 players split-screen which was a huge draw for me. It’s possible to create pretty much any character, kart, or race-track you want and the community is absolutely great at this so within a few minutes you can have anything you want to race with ? But there was one huge problem. The loading times were absolutely horrendous. They would often be between 1 to 2 minutes and they were everywhere. Getting to the whole process of starting a race could easily take a few minutes and playing the game with friends just became a huge drag because of it. No one wants to constantly wait that long to be able to play. So, I pretty much shelved the game and didn’t touch it again until I finally started to clear out my backlog. It became one of those games that I really started to appreciate the more I played it. They significantly fixed the loading times in later patches (though they are still long) and the career is actually quite fun with a lot of different tracks and challenging objectives to complete for all of them. The online portion is a massive grind as you constantly have to download your own creations, so that alone took me a few months. But now it’s finally over and I’m really glad I gave this game a proper go and ended up enjoying my road to the 100%. It’s also one of the most difficult platinums I’ve done in a while with the hot lap trophy and the massive grind, so I’m really proud I got to add this to my collection before it becomes unobtainable forever.
Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
#72 - Reverie Difficulty: 2/10 Fun: 7.5/10 RECOMMEND?: Yes, especially for those hardcore, classic 90s gamers! This game was pretty much a nostalgic trip back to 90s gaming, and I loved every bit of the 5-hour journey. For those who don't know, this game was made by a small New Zealand company who was greatly inspired by the Nintendo classics: in particular Legend of Zelda and Earthbound. The game has the aesthetics of Earthbound, but plays like an top-down, classic Zelda game. You play as a kid named Tai who goes to visit his grandparents and discovers the island is cursed. Therefore, our young, silent hero goes out on a journey to put the evil spirits to rest and to free the island from the curse. The dungeons are not as good as The Legend of Zelda, but it is still pretty decent. It throws a few tricky puzzles in there to make you think a little bit, and I really enjoyed the items/weapons you get through the game (especially the pet rock, Stephen) and how they were implemented in the dungeon puzzles. The game runs smoothly, but I did run into a couple funny glitches (like being Chuck Norris and swimming through land), but nothing major or game breaking. I hope this game does well enough to keep the small indie company open, because I'd like them to take on bigger projects and to continue releasing Nintendo-like games on PS consoles. People call this game a "clone" and I'm sure some didn't like it because of this, but I find it to be more of a nod to the classics and is executed tastefully. If you were on the fence about this game, pick it up. At the very least, it's an easy platinum.

Popular Post PooPooBlast
#112 and 100% Borderlands It's been a while since my last plat! This game surprised me in many ways ( good and bad lol). Let's start with the bad first: It took a very long time for the action, loot, and environments to really shine and I'd say about 15-20 hours when you're about lvl 20. The beginning sections and missions were quite bland asking you to do kill X amount of things in the same brown/ grey world. I was actually very close to shelve this game until I met the first indoors area against the first boss and that's when it really started to kick into high gear. From that point till the end I was having a blast in the base game. Then came another crappy ( really CRAPPY) part and that was the Mad Moxxi DLC. My goodness it was probably the worst experience I've had in a DLC. I mean even trophies aside there was nothing else in that DLC except grinding wave after wave after wave of enemies in an arena with special modifiers. Then to make matters worse the greater arenas had 100 total waves each!! Not only that but they had modifiers to make it even harder on you the more you progress. For each map you had to dedicate 3 hours.. horrible horrible experience here. Overall I went through 450 waves ( it was supposed to be 375 but I redid the first 3 again to do the second controller method because it was near impossible solo ). Then came in the Secret Armory of General Knoxx which was very very fun actually and the loot in this dlc was just awesome. This one was very well done and the different areas were quite expansive. Sometimes too expansive lol but it was still fun. Finally the Claptrap DLC was alright except for the grinding part for the claptrap RNG drops. Those were also annoying but at least I was able to idle in a safe spot at a certain boss fight and just grab the parts the enemies drop every now and then. Overall, Borderlands was a hit and miss with some of its stuff but for the most part I actually had a blast playing this. Am I going to grab BL2 next? Not so sure yet. For the time being I am going to take a break from the series as I'm pretty sure I put about 75-90 hours or so for the 100%. And I'd like to thank @Dreakon13, @kidson2004, @DamagingRob @KingGuy420 for offering to help me with some of the co-op related trophies and @Avatar_Of_Battle for helping me with a MP trophy. Thanks guys! Edited September 29, 2018 by PooPooBlast

Popular Post SirDave1988
# 91 - Day of the Tentacle Remastered (PS4) OCDGet all other trophies in the game Took me a while to get round to doing this one having being free on PS Plus way back, but I've finally completed it. It's one of those old-school point and click LucasArts adventures that is much deeper than you initially think. It's quite impressive actually how they programmed in all the different permutations that the player could select. It's a really well made game. I also liked how there was DVD-style commentary for fans and the ability to switch art styles in real time is awesome, still just as impressive now as when I first saw it on R-Type Dimensions back on the PS3. As for the trophies, I HAD to follow a guide for this one as you need to do incredibly, unbelievably specific things at specific times and I didn't want to mess up something 1 and a half hours in and have to do the whole game again. Don't hate me haha Edited September 30, 2018 by SirDave1988

Guest
#6 SKYLANDERS SPYRO'S ADVENTURE - My proudest plat ever ? Enjoyment 9/10 Difficulty 4-5/10 because of 3 trophies I have to admit: this was no small feat for me. In fact it was the hardest and funnest plat I’ve ever gotten. PSN rarity 1.1% But I REALLY LOVED it. I don’t usually go for difficult stuff but the game was so fun that I couldn’t help myself. It takes strategy, leveling up, and just the right skylanders for the hardest trophies. Ghost roaster is the only one that got me through Tag me if you can (which is brutal) because he’s got a power which makes him impervious to the lasers. Terafin finally (after trying several others) got me One for all because he also could burrow underground and escape the hydra attacks. I think Activision is kinda mean for making a kids’ game so tough, but I believe their strategy was to induce you to buy more skylanders to make it easier. Even then it’s not, but at least it is doable. It is just so fun and so funny that I didn’t mind the glitches and difficulty! I was mostly grinning ear to ear. Now I might have to continue on in the other games of the series ...

Popular Post RusticSamurai
#75 - Alice: Madness Returns I wanted to play this game since... a lot of time. I'm not even a fan of Wonderland or something, but i just saw it once and i knew i had to play it. Man, it didn't disappoint. I love the aesthetic of the game, the art direction it's outstanding. I loved it. I did the 100% with the original American McGee's Alice. It wasn't that fun for the frustrating controls, but i felt satisfied when i finished it. Sadly, this game has one of the ugliest platinum names i've seen. Still, i loved it a lot. Edited September 30, 2018 by Samael39
Milk64oz
Platinum #69 - Chivalry: Medieval Warfare [Achieve All Trophies] 09/21/2018 I was addicted to Chivalry when it released; first person melee is my favorite thing. When I last played it, 3 years & 7 months ago, my three remaining trophies were dependent on unlocking the next (final) tiers of three ranged weapons. I didn't enjoy playing just for the sake of that, and when I later accepted a 1v1 "Duel" for the first time, I lost all of my painstaking Batman & Adventure Time character customization's. That's what finally pushed me off the platinum, until I decided to self boost a week ago.

Popular Post Asvinia
#34 Assassin's Creed: Origins I thought I'd hate it because I'm one of those grumpy bastards that doesn't like it when things I enjoy change. I absolutely loved it though. I can see where some might say it's not AC anymore because of the combat, but you're given enough abilities and even actually encouraged, to play it like a stealthy AC game. I thought Bayek was a great protagonist and will probably stay amongst my favourites when I eventually go back and play the rest of the series. I think he had a substantial amount of character growth and you could see as you progressed through the game that he was beginning to question what he was doing. Even if his whole motivation was one of the biggest cliché's out there. I liked this so much that I was prepared to get Odyssey Day 1, but I'm still very skeptical about 'branching dialogue', 'choose your path' and the other controversial topic. It's been a while since i last played, but it was a blast to go through this game. Had to make Yoshitsune in the end to defeat the Twins. Clocked in at 120 hours after the fight. It's a bit tough comparing this game to P4G as both are equally great in their own ways.
Popular Post JaM
#251 NORN9 Var Commons NORN9VC Completionist You have unlocked all trophies! I have bought this game 2 years ago along with Code;Realize and Amnesia while it was on sale. I have stalled it for 2 years since I thought it will be one of those reverse harem type of romance. Surprisingly, it was not bad. It was a very rocky start for me tbh. I started with Koharu and I find the first route, Kakeru, to be a pretty good start. Then I got disappointed with Senri route and in the mid of Masamune route, I was sooo close in giving in temptation and Skip the scenes. Luckily I didn't and things went better on Mikoto routes and Nanami's routes are not bad imo. Not really a huge fan of True route though, like seriously, basing on that end - the true end route for heroines are Senri, Sakuya (well, Mikoto's routes are all good tbh) and Heishi??? Probably my fave routes for each heroine are Natsuhiko (Itsuki's a close runner up though), Ron and Kakeru(by default). Would recommend? sure if you enjoy Otome games. Also, playing it is also a good way to feel sleepy Would I watch the anime? Don't think so.

Popular Post Conor
#6- KINGDOM HEARTS Re: CHAIN OF MEMORIES (PS3) Chain of Memories Master Enjoyment: 2/10 (First Playthrough 7/10) Difficulty: 6/10 Time Taken: 3 Weeks, 2 Days, 22 Hours (90 Hours in-game total) Rarity: 1.3% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 4.90% Ultra Rare (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Record Keeper Sora (Gold)- Collect all Jiminy's Journal entries I've seen what hell looks like... Sweet. Holy. Crap. I have played the original Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories on my Game Boy Advance, which I still have, box and all. Though it has been many years since then, I have memories (ha) of a charming little side story that tided me over until the eagerly- awaited release of Kingdom Hearts II. I must have repressed the worst memories because I found this game to be quite the slog compared to the first title... and that's an understatement. Although the game was remade on PS2, that version never came out in Europe so this was my first exposure to it. The first few hours were cool but the magic wore off as I slogged through room after room after room after room after... and so on. Though the combat itself was fun and the card strategy mechanics challenging, the waves after waves of enemies wore me down so much so by the end I was just making rooms and dashing through just to get to the end. The Riku playthrough was mercifully shorter but then I had to do it all again twice over with increasing difficulty. The game is best described as a dungeon crawler with card mechanics than a proper RPG. To be honest though, I found Proud Mode for both a breeze because I was so well practiced at that point and had thoroughly researched the speed running strategies- it's ridiculous how easy it is to break the game but with the trade off of making the combat much more repetitive. Then it got to the grinding. Dear god, the grinding. There is literally no need for either Sora or Riku to be anywhere near Level 99 except for the attached trophies. Sora's level grind went a lot faster but was still a task I left for the end. The RNG-determinant card gathering was also a pain in the butt. This artificial padding only drew the game out way longer than it had to be and made it so un-enjoyable. I found the story to be pretty good, introducing the Organisation though leaving their purpose and motivations pretty vague, instead thrusting Sora and Riku in the midst of a little internal squabble. It isn't the most essential title though, in fact you could just read up on a few key points then go into Kingdom Hearts II with all the knowledge you really need. In all, not a game I'd hastily recommend as an easy platinum run. With the lack of stacking difficulty and the sheer level of grinding involved, it comes as no surprise to me that this is an Ultra Rare platinum on PS3. Certainly not looking forward to doing most of it all again on PS4 later this year. At least now I can retire my Kingdom Hearts I.5 HD ReMix PS3 disc since the PS4 versions are the definitive ones. My goal is to get all Kingdom Hearts Platinums before the release of Kingdom Hearts III on January 29th next year. I'm sure with a bit of grit and determination, I'll manage. Time for an easy plat or two before I begin to tackle Kingdom Hearts II later this week... Edited October 1, 2018 by LepreCon1991
Popular Post Desmuria
So, I'm back from my holiday/vacation. I didn't have any time to sit down and play the stackable games I have on my Vita. I suppose I'll get 'round to those over the course of next week. Until then, I got busy this weekend with these: #108 - Amnesia: Memories Memories Returned Collected every trophy in the game Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 I enjoyed Amnesia: Memories a lot more than I did playing Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness. The different paths you can take in this game are really varied and the stories are engaging. Some of it did make me cringe a little, but it didn't take away from the experience. I really am enjoying playing VN's at the moment. The platinum was easy to obtain and the mini-games were a lot of fun (unlike the mini-game in Psycho-Pass, which made me want to end myself). If you have a Vita and enjoy VN's, give this one a go! #109 - My Brother Rabbit Super Explorer Unlock all the Trophies. Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 1.5/10 I loved, loved, LOVED this game. Artifex Mundi have finally done something different from their usual format and it WORKS! The puzzles are fun and challenging and the entire game is basically a hidden object hunt. The story is rather sad and the music they use to express that is breathtaking. Well done, Artifex Mundi. More of this, pretty please! Excited to see what they do next!
