Popular Post AgentSmiz
Platinum 110 - Middle Earth: Shadow of War Wanted to play it since it was released but that whole microtransaction shenanigans put me off it and I never got round to playing it when they were removed so I was glad when it came to PS Plus this month. Overall, I enjoyed it. Bigger and way more to do than the first one, almost to a fault sometimes. It did get a bit samey and repetitive at points, with every area pretty much devolving into being a case of doing the same thing. Endgame was collecting stuff and doing conquest/defence matches, which did start to get old really quick. Especially when, in fortress defence, there'd be 10 or so named orcs and you'd get a notification each time one of them died. Broke the flow of combat a bit. Despite these faults, it kept me playing. Only other gripes are that the wraith flurry and the look of Talion were better in the first. Wraith Flurry used to produce a screaming effect from the controller with an orc head pop and now it just freezes the opponent. Useful, but not as cool. And beardy stubble Talion was a much better look. I think I prefer the first overall as it was more of a surprise that it was good whereas this already had the assumption it would be, based off the first. Graphics seem a little worse but that might just be me. In any case, I prefer the first but know that this is the better game. I'm still not over the fact that Shelob is a sexy lady spider now.

Popular Post X_Wizi_X
#155 Dead Island Riptide PS3 #156 Dead Island: Riptide - Definitive Edition PS4 So, despite being more like a dlc with a platinum (given the small amount of things it adds compared to the first chapter), I found the game unnecessarily hard, with an unnecessarily huge number of enemies (many more here than in the whole first chapter, including the remastered version on ps4) that respawn literally 25 meters away and capable of killing you with one hit. The dead zones have almost always the same map pattern and the story is weak. Plus finishing the game (so the entire campaign) in coop mode for a trophy, kills all the remaining fun.

Popular Post SirWaWa
Tomb Raider: Underworld (Trilogy Collection) This was surprisingly a pretty good Tomb Raider game but marred with a ton of flaws. I didn't care for the story but it's typical pre-reboot Tomb Raider, filled with a lot of nonsense that doesn't really quite make sense. Frame rate is inconsistent ranging anywhere from 30fps to sub 30fps. It gets really bad when it's raining and near the end of the game when you get swarmed by enemies. Collision and grab detection is iffy, especially for a puzzle platformer. The platforming itself wasn't too difficult but there a few frustrating parts. The last relic needs to be done deathless. The glyphs reset if you die and if you make it to the other side and it auto saves the checkpoint you'll need to reload a previous save as there is no way to activate the reset glyphs on the other side. If the platforming frustrates you, learn Lara's moves. Learn how she behaves in a neutral position (no left stick) and a non-neutral position (with left stick). It makes the game so much less frustrating. The game is unpredictably buggy with bugged trophies but none of them bugged out on me. Not sure if it matters that I played the trilogy version. I had the game freeze three separate times and I narrowed down two of them due to using a super overpowered weapon. It's not required but I stopped using it. The one thing I did find outstanding was the underwater environment. It's the first game that I experienced while underwater, the distance objects are blurry and slowly come into focus as you approach it. I thought this was extremely well done and the underwater gameplay isn't filter heavy. While there isn't a lot of music in the game, when there is it sounds good. Very movie like but too heavy on the low bass side. This game was the perfect length and didn't wear out it's welcome too early but just on time. Overall not a difficult game, even on the hardest difficulty and no speed run trophies but there is three speed trophies that are all easy. Worrying about glitchy trophies and improperly followed progress and having to re-do parts for times sake is more worrisome than how hard the game is. Completed it in 10 hours game time but it doesn't include re-loading and restarting the first area twice and the last area twice, so maybe 13-15 hours total. Luckily I didn't lose collection progress restarting the first area. Easy, quick plat but not stress free.
Popular Post FOOTBALLNUT
#119 Champion of the Gods Unlock all Trophies Platinum om 23rd September 2020 (8 months, 3 weeks, 1 day) **********My Personal Gaming Enjoyment Experience********** Hmmm... God of War, where do I begin? It have been a long time since I last played God of War, although I didn't really follow Kratos's story but my passion for God of War never cease though I only played the first and second games on earlier PlayStation 2. Now I'm on a quest to clear as many PS3 Instant Game Collection as possible, including some physical copy game that I bought earlier but haven't started yet and one of them is God of War trilogy then I can retire my beloved "Joyce" (PS3) that serves me well in a decade without any regrets. Well...I'm going by chronological order and "Ascension" was the first timeline in God of War series. Honestly I was a bit lost by its storyline cause I always thought the story will begin before his family tragedy and become what was Kratos in the first God of War. Unfortunately it is not what I expecting to be, nonetheless it's nice to know where he began his revenge journey and how the story unfold further through the series. The gameplay feel the same as what I use to play on PS2 though I can't said about button input cause I don't quite remember but overall still feel the same to me except the blocking button seem a bit odd to me. Camera issues always work against "Hack & Slash" games and "Ascension" developer went a step further by zooming out far away from Kratos and add tons of enemies for me to fight, which results in lot of cheap death. Luckily, hard difficulty is not that tough as long as I'm doing every upgrade available to me along the way and with plenty of checkpoint throughout the campaign it is a lot easier, consider I never play Hard difficulty in any previous "God of War". Oh well, except chapter 28 mid-section, I'm looking at you "Trial of Archimedes" and SCREW YOU! Damn, I was too old for this I keep button mashing when I'm in panic mode and totally forgotten those basic combo. By the way, this was the first time I had ever played on higher than "Normal" difficulty on "Hack n Slash" games. HEY WAIT!...Is this the Last God of War game that have made on PS3? If so..then I'm absolutely spoiled by the graphics cause it look really gorgeous on third generation and I don't know whether I can made it through the rest of the trilogy except God of War III which is Remastered on PS4. As usual, I like to thank PS Plus for making "God of War: Ascension "one of the Instant Games Collection on August 2015. Thank you so much Plus! Popular Post hittheroadbucky
Difficulty 7/10 Enjoyment 2/10 I don’t know what it is about Far Cry 4 in comparison to all the other ones, but I really struggled with this. I ended up having to bump the difficulty down and even then I still felt like Ajay could only take about 1 hit before he was killed. Driving in Far Cry games is awful, but if you don’t drive in this game you get absolutely destroyed by wild animals. Body armour is a waste of time buying because if you get hit it removes your health and armour anyway. The story itself is fairly interesting but with all the struggles I had with gameplay I didn’t find it fun. Getting to the end was an absolute chore. The trophy list is standard Far Cry and in turn easily attainable, but I would not recommend this one at all. Play 3 or 5 instead ?
Popular Post ZoutjeNL
#53 The Last of Us Part II (including DLC) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 First of all DO NOT worry about spoilers as I will leave this spoiler free as I hate people that spoil games for other players. Either way lets get to the review. This game seems to have two camps, you either hate it or love it. Many of the people that hate on this game haven't played much (if at all) so in my opinion to fully judge a game you have to play at least partially especially with such a story driven game. As I won't go into detail about the story I will say one thing: It really has a lot of emotion, it does unique things that I haven't felt in any other game before. Simply for that I must praise Naughty Dog as it definitely isn't a clear approach to a game of this scale. I did not like all of the story choices but ultimately I respect the choices that the writers of the game made. It made a big impact and the first time playing I really needed a break after finishing the game. That is also a main reason why it took me quite a long time to finish (also the DLC wasn't released at this point), and as a completionist I wanted the 100% The game looks graphically amazing. The most beatiful game I played on a slim ps4 and even then it blew me away. I have not played Ghost of Tsuhima yet so that might be a second candidate for the most beatifull game, however this game is really a piece of art. To me this game feels like next gen, some next gen games will probably look a lot worse. The sound is also top of the line, like you can expect within Naughty Dog titles. For the trophies I must admit I didn't like them very much. The classic collecting within ND games which is pretty boring. And that is almost the complete trophy list. I also did not like that the DLC with the added Grounded mode and the permadeath trophies were added later, because of this I had to do 3 playthroughs. The first playthrough had a big impact and was amazing but the last one I really had to do with watching something on the side. Ultimately an impactfull and special game that doesn't deserve all the hate it is getting. It is no masterpiece (like some make it out to be) but definitely worth to experience.
Popular Post Starrk_01
Plat #179: Celeste Fun game with a good story. Would recommend to at least beat the game (get to the summit) w/o using assist mode. Makes the game more enjoyable in my opinion. With that being said, I salute ANYONE who goes for the platinum w/o using assist mode. I'm probably talking to no one about this point, but you never know.

Popular Post Trumpet_Boi_208
#21 Downwell Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Downwell is a very fun and cleverly designed action platformer, where every action you can do serves more than one purpose. It’s a rogue like where your goal is to make it to the bottom of the well, killing some baddies on the way, and defeating the boss at the end. The structural concept is nothing new, but I definitely enjoyed my time with this game. Difficulty: 9/10 By far the hardest platinum I’ve done so far. Finishing the game on hard mode not only requires a lot of skill to do, but it also requires good RNG to keep you sustained through the course of the run. It’s very easy to get swarmed on Hard Mode, and your HP can deplete fast if you’re not careful. Very hard, but doable. Overall: A very fun and very hard platinum that set a new bar for me in terms of my most difficult platinum.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#333 - Star Ocean: The Last Hope International STAR OCEAN® THE LAST HOPE® -INTERNATIONAL- Platinum Trophy Congratulations! You've collected every last STAR OCEAN® THE LAST HOPE® -INTERNATIONAL- trophy! So *technically* this plat took me 5 years and 3 months to earn, but that's only because of the false start I had in this game a long time ago when I was woefully unprepared for what had to be done. I didn't make it very far into the game back then. I only truly began this platinum journey back in April of this year, and I've been slowly but surely working at it for the past 7 months. It has very much become a part of my daily routine at this point and it's strange to think that it's all over now. It hasn't quite dawned on me yet... I suppose now would be a good opportunity to bring up the in-game hours I put in going off my save files (rounded up/down to the nearest hour). Playthrough #1: 535 hours (the vast majority of the BT's were acquired here) Playthrough #2: 114 hours (the goal of this playthrough was to acquire Faize's BT's and farm Edge's 30k kill BT) Playthrough #3: 12 hours (purely focused on getting through Universe difficulty) Playthrough #4: 13 hours (purely focused on getting through Chaos difficulty)Total: 674 hours I think I can safely say this is the longest platinum I've ever earned. ? Now of course that total isn't completely accurate since there were times where I needed to step away from the game, reload a save, game crashes, etc, but I can't imagine it's too far off. This platinum is quite the beast, no two ways about it. I talked myself out of going for this plat for the longest time. I used to think it would have been a giant waste of time and instead just opted to play a bunch of other games in its place. Well, something just clicked with me earlier this year as I was coming to the end of my PS3 backlog, and I decided to give the game another shot. I hadn't even decided to plat the game at first, but that soon changed once I started getting further into it. This is just a fantastic JRPG, far better than I expected it to be. I really got into the story and took a liking to the characters (Japanese dub of course, not the awful English one). The combat is a blast too! After coming to the realisation of just how much I liked the game, I knew the platinum had to be mine. I always imagined the journey for this platinum would be this grueling experience I would hate from start to finish, but it wasn't like that at all. The only part I found frustrating were the crashes, but thankfully those were limited to the 2 post-game dungeons. It was incredibly nerve-wracking whenever I had to go fight the Ethereal Queen since the trek there takes a good 4 or 5 hours without any save points. It always sucked to lose progress through no fault of my own, but it wasn't the end of the world. Even the game's "most difficult" BT which has been known to make people rage didn't seem that bad to me, but I suppose getting it on the first try is what makes me feel that way. ? But yeah, I found the rest of the plat to be pretty chill. It was pretty comforting to know that I could come home from a day of work and just fire up some grind in SO4 while I listen to podcasts or watch YouTube videos. Time well spent as far as I'm concerned. ? So yeah, I guess that's pretty much everything I wanted to say. This is definitely one of my proudest plats to date and it immediately went in the old trophy cabinet once it popped. ? I'm really looking forward to playing Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time and Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness at some point, but for now, I guess I better find something else to fill the void this game has left me with. ?

Popular Post starcrunch061
Plats #414 and 416: Demon's Tier + Platinum Demon's Tier + Unlock all trophies in Demon's Tier + Completing the Diabolical Mind trilogy, I have now platted 6 games from this developer for the low, low cost of $14. Not bad, really. After all, I really enjoyed Xenon Valkyrie, and also liked Riddled Corpses. But for whatever reason, this one just didn't do it for me. For one, the game is blindingly easy. I mean, Riddled Corpses was easy once you unlocked the best characters. Xenon Valkyrie, well, it was never very easy. But this game is just silly. In two plat playthroughs, I died once for real (and honestly, I wouldn't have died then, except I didn't know that I had a bunch of escape items and just kept pushing through the dungeon). My last trophy in my PS4 plat was dying for the first time. I enjoy the twin-stick shooting, and the control is quite good (as to be expected). I like the panoply of characters available, but unlike Riddled Corpses, they really play little role. I switched to the archer, because he was fast, and then the Valkyrie, and it turns out that's all you need. The Valkyrie is REALLY powerful, and unlocks for free (well, not really - you have to beat the game once to unlock her). The cut scenes are actually quite nice, and really enhance the experience. The game has 3 separate endings, but they feel out of order, or at least the last one makes no sense whatsoever. The game has three different skill levels as well, and the last level is harder than the first, but again, with the Valkyrie, all shall fall before you. I would have liked trophies for beating the game with each character. In fact, I would have liked different character endings; I'm not sure why they aren't there. All in all, the game is technically fine, but it feels like there's no heart to it. I'm not sad to have paid full price; I owe that for all the fun I got from the previous two titles (which I bought on the cheap for $1.99). But it was a somewhat lackluster end to an other-wise solid trilogy.
Popular Post EIdain
Platinum #62 - BloodborneBloodborne - Uncommon: 21.47% My first From Soft game. I ended up playing this on a whim after being put off for the longest time. Partly a bit by the difficulty, but more-so because I didn't think I'd enjoy the Lovecraftian theme of the game and lack of a traditional narrative to follow. I'm surprised how much I liked it. The combat is obviously excellent, but I loved the level design, how everything is connected through a series of differentiating paths and shortcuts. The lack of handholding. The quests for NPC's in the world. The secrets and multiple endings. Very little to complain about other than the frame rate which dips below 30fps way to frequently. Very good trophy list that encourages you to seek out everything the game has to offer. Although the Chalice Dungeons began to outstay their welcome before the end. I feel like the difficulty will vary greatly depending on whether or not you play co-op, only summon NPC's or summon no one at all.Enjoyment: 10/10Difficulty: 6/10 (I had some co-op help)Playtime: Around 30 hours I get what all the fuss is about now. (45h27m) Dragon Quest and Dynasty Warriors work really well. Just like most Warriors style games, the Platinum comes with a grind. Grind for experience, grind for money, grind for ingredients, grind for monsters, grind for alchemy, grind for Mini Medals. Good to finally complete this, I enjoyed the main game but never platinumed it on my old profile. Got my ass handed to me by one of the superbosses and noped on out. Terry and Bianca are ridiculously overpowered. I'll probably leave the second one for a while! Edited November 15, 2020 by Hoopdahoopla

Popular Post DefinitiveTJ
Platinum 69: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor I already got the platinum for Shadow of Mordor on another account in 2017 but because Shadow of War is on Plus now I decided that it was time to revisit the first one. With the closing of the servers that turned out to be a good choice since I had ample amount of time to get the related network trophy. This game is still a blast and I rushed through the story and side content as if I never played in before and was done in a few days. The only problem arose with The White Rider trophy where you have to liberate slaves on a Caragor in a small time frame. Yes I had done that trophy before, no I had no idea how to do it again. Every attempt and video I watched didn't help and I thought I just needed to admit defeat but luckily I tried again today and I unlocked it. I'm gonna put off the dlc and the sequel for a bit but I'm glad that I played this game for the second time, the Nemesis system remains as interesting as ever.
