Popular Post jenny_232
#4: Chalice of Torment Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4.5/10 (if you do it as 2nd playthrough) _____ First platinum in 2021! Tomb Raider is one of my most favorite franchises and I'm very proud that I am now owner of all three Tomb Raider Reboot platinums. Unpopular opinion but Shadow is by far my most favorite part of the Reboot Trilogy. I like how it focuses much more on puzzles and exploring, much like the older TR titles. Deadly Obsession wasn't AS BAD as I thought it'd be, but it wasn't easy either. It really took some time to get used to not being able to use Survival Instincts but as I made this my second playthrough I luckily had Perception, Endurance and Focus which helped a lot with spotting enemies and herbs. Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#447 - Terminator: Resistance So this was unexpectedly quite good in my opinion. My expectations were low with the average reviews but as a big fan of the first two Terminator films (the third film also had it's moments) I had to play it. It's by no means perfect but it's a big step up from Terminator Salvation on PS3 (or Terminator Abomination if we're talking about the movie). As a first-person shooter it's solid but unspectacular. I did enjoy how the game captured the feeling from the flashbacks (flashforwards?) from the first two movies of what a post Judgement Day LA looked like in it's environments. The Easter eggs and other callbacks to those movies spread out across the game were appreciated by myself too but I won't go into details here. The only major criticism I have is how overpowered the main character feels once you have access to the plasma weapons later on and how unintimidating the Terminators then feel as a result. I blasted my way through the last third of the game with relative ease compared with the rest of it. There's so much useless junk to pick up as well such as fabrics and materials, a lot of which I ended up not using. Overall I enjoyed it. There's potential for an absolutely brilliant Terminator game one day with the lore of the franchise and the potential that brings. Terminator: Resistance is no GOTY candidate but it'll do for now. NeoArashi
Latest Platinum: My Name Is Mayo 2 (Shameful, I know) Difficulty: 1/10. Enjoyment: 6/10. (extra points because I actually streamed this. Basically, I did this for the lulz) Challenge: 3/10. Grind Difficulty: 2/10. Time to complete: 23 minutes and 30 seconds The extra point in Challenge and Difficulty are solely because after 3000 or so clicks my hand started to hurt quite a bit. I actually streamed myself getting the platinum, lol. I'll give a link when I am not on my work PC hahaha

Popular Post Darghel
#92 TOKYODARK -REMEMBRANCE (It's in the title, except Tokyo and Dark are separated but whatever!) Difficulty: Nothing too difficult but lacks some better skipping features. Time to Complete: about 3 days - several playthroughs done Recommended: It's short so yeah Total Score: 7/10 Nothing too great to say except that I needed a little break from Yakuza - an amazing game but it was huge and took me almost an entire month to finish and complete - so I thought to try a little adventure game with VN elements. And hey it's also a horror, which I like - when it doesn't try to use cheap jumpscares - so I gave it a shot. The story is nice but I found it problematic to follow a few bits - especially Reina's reason to be here, which is barely explained until much later - and most of the secondary characters aren't really developed enough which is a pity considering you get to do some choices with them for trophies - forcing the cat cafè owner to pay a debt and risking to close it down was a bit harsh, considering I also have cats at home, or just being overall mean spirited to someone...yeah I know it's a game but this is why I can't even try bad choices in Detroit or Heavy Rain damn it! Oh and I think the devs REALLY love cats considering not only there's a literal cat ending (which requires taking puppets), but a cat pretty much saves you later from being killed or worse. But to be honest, the story was fine, took me about 5-6 hours to finish the first time, and it has a lot of endings to achieve...but the problem resides in the very bad skipping features ng+ has, which allows you to skip only certain parts - very few parts - and you cannot skip cutscenes later on, only the starting one. Those alone can take you several minutes in what could be your third or fourth or even fifth run. Yes, the guide says 2 playthroughs but there are plenty of endings that require specific status with your SPIN meter (Which stands for Sanity, Professionalism, Investigation, and Neurosis), and doing certain things will give or remove status, which not only may allow you to make specific choices but also leads you to different endings: my last ending for the platinum was the revenge ending and the reap what you sow ending and those required to have low sanity, but not too low or else you get the insanity ending! Bottom line, I was forced to restart because my run was completely useless, and had to make a better choice that didn't low my sanity too much. Overall, it's an okay game, had fun with it, i liked the anime style too, which wasn't too fancy and very sober, and while most of the endings were "meh" a few of them were very nice. Wished it had some (more) voice acting than just a few sentences.

Few offline modes, campaign nonexistent and multiplayer focus only. Wasted potential and huge disappointment. Glad i managed to plat this in a single session and i admit it, at first i was worried about finding players and organize a match with this game, turned out be one of my best and fastest session thx to serious players. Popular Post Masamune
Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash MARVELOUS! Obtained all trophies. Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Playtime: N/A (1 week, 3 days, 18 hours) Screenshot: I meant to make this Hikage, but I misjudged my progress towards the last trophy, so bunny Kagura it is (which still turned out pretty nice). What a nice cultured game of art. They're lucky they got this out just before Sony started going censor crazy... because half the stuff in this game wouldn't have made it through otherwise. ? It was a fun addition to the Senran series, not quite as fun as the main games though, but still enjoyable enough. The game is very easy & simple, half the time your teammates even do most of the work. That's probably my only complaint too, they could've added some extra mechanic or something to add a bit more challenge to some parts. Trophy wise it's just as easy, half the trophies do require some grinding at the end though (which is mostly just doing the same 30-60 second battle over & over) & can get a little boring. I'll end this by adding my diorama I made with my top 5 characters I used throughout the game (with Hikage easily being my favorite). There are some very... "interesting" poses in this game you can choose from, but I'll go with a more wholesome scene for now. ? Popular Post Sofa King
148 - Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle The Ultimate Slasher Superstar So this was my inebriated first purchase of the new year that thankfully didn't turn out to be a regrettable one. If you've every played Slayaway Camp it's basically that game with Mr. Vorhees himself as the star slasher. If not it's, as the title suggests, a puzzle game with murder being the goal. But you can't go hackin' at campers all willy-nilly, you need to set up kills in the correct order to reach the final kill of each level. Most are pretty simple but there's a rewind feature and Momma Vorhees is there (well her head anyway) with hints and emotional support. She'll even show you how to solve each level, making it a game of memory if you choose the quick and easy way. The game has two other modes, Daily Challenge is one level that changes each day but no help from Mom on these. Not too bad and with some date manipulation in system settings the trophy for a 13 day streak can be done in a half-hour or less. Then there's Murder Marathon where you have to time hitting on a bar to get as many kills in a row as you can. The sweet spot changes in size and location randomly and can be a challenge to get to the max kills trophies up to 30, still not too hard. There's plenty of content here, over a hundred levels and different weapons and skins for Jason. All of that is cosmetic though but still fun to mess around with. My only real complaint is that all of the kill animations, especially in Murder Marathon, get pretty repetitive for the amount of grinding a few trophies require. Otherwise it's a fun game, pretty easy but a bit of grind. If you like puzzles and murderous hockey goalies named Jason this may be worth a look for you. Popular Post madbuk
#404 - Darksiders Genesis When this was initially revealed I was highly skeptical, as someone who does not enjoy co-op, and was already disappointed by Darksiders III. I am glad to say that I actually really enjoyed this. Unfortunately, the game put my PS4 fans into overdrive, drowning out the game entirely and making it less enjoyable to play, and as a result I had to postpone playing it until PS5 in the hopes that I'd actually be able to hear the game on that console. Thankfully, the PS5 was completely silent the entire time, so I am very glad I waited. Ys VIII has this same issue on my PS4, so that's another I've been saving for PS5.. at some point. At this point I've stopped caring about the story/lore in Darksiders. They gave us a big cliffhanger at the end of 1 and then have done nothing but prequels since, none of which have been particularly engaging. I still watched the cutscenes, since I don't skip on first playthroughs, but... I can't really tell you what happened. The 6 month gap between chapter 7 and chapter 8 while I awaited PS5 probably didn't help, I didn't remember anything that had happened by the time I came back to it. I am very happy with the amount of platforming/puzzle-solving on offer. I was concerned they'd take a backseat with this new gameplay style, and I can happily say that they did not. Exceeded my expectations in that regard, and actually had a pretty challenging platforming gauntlet in the hub world which was fun. I definitely recommend this game, although it is very short so maybe only on a sale.
Popular Post Tankor_smash
#343 Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin This is another fantastic game. The farming combines with the exploration in a fantastic symbiosis that makes the game go from frustrating to enjoyable. The farming starts frustrating and a little bit overwhelming, but as you progress it becomes smoother and smoother and you really feel like you've learned something. The story is a bit trite (spoiled princess becomes humble champion), but it was engaging and didn't feel tacked on or lack luster. I would recommend this to anyone who likes farm sims, or management sims in general.
Popular Post DoctorGameGeek
#21 (9th in the era of COVID): Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story Difficulty: 2 / 10 The game consists of two modes: academy-building simulation and brief field combat. Building the right facilities allows you to easily bank gold (for purchasing items and facilities and upgrades) and fame (for getting more indoor and outdoor plots at the academy). Combat consists of a team of up to four players entering the field to achieve objectives. Story quests, side quests, and affiliate missions constitute the bulk of such gameplay: eliminating X enemies, seeing a certain field object, or exploring the area. The exception are errands: A team of up to four people get dispatched a certain number of weeks for additional gold and fame (albeit too little of it compared to missions). The gameplay is simple. Build your academy, and while you're not doing that, go get the stuff you need to boost your team. Level up your adventurers and choose (not all that carefully) to graduate folks you don't need while advancing a core team. As academy rank progresses, characters' maximum levels will increase. At a max level of 25, all characters have access to all skills. Eventually, your student body will feel a bit unwieldy (since you can only arrange three parties of four at a time). Just when you worried about rejecting enrollment or graduating someone, you'll get a replacement or two or three who plays pretty much identically albeit with a crazy name like [en]f_p_149 [en]l_p_149 (no, for real, not joking). Keeping things brief, sticking to side quests and story quests will give you a team that can pretty much handle anything the game throws at it, though there are a few unexpected difficulty spikes. If you hit one, quit the mission, replay it and then stop short of completing it. Even if you forfeit the loot, you keep the experience and can max a team quickly. This is crucial in chapter 4. As far as getting the platinum, the score stands. You can completely nearly all trophies except for the Valthirian _____ trophies. These are based on how many affiliated missions you completed. @eigen-space was spot on in their guide. It's easier to ignore affiliated missions entirely outside Chapter 2 to get that ending, and then continue with the post-game save. Do enough missions to get the final level name to change (which may take more than 15, that's ok), and then finish them all (by completing side quests, not errands, to make more pop up). Enjoyment: 4 / 10 I'll be honest. The disappointing features of this game are hard to avoid. Ported from a web/PC game, PS4 controls feel clunky. With a large-sized academy, it's hard to zoom and glide a cursor over the map to respond to ? marks in various facilities. And even if you miss them, there's no real penalty; you fail to claim a bit of gold or fame that pales in comparison to the weekly accumulation from certain facilities. The trophy list requires a diversified academy; however, many facilities aren't worth the cost. That's fine. Build them to get the respective trophies, then destroy them to make room for better selections. The field exploration is even worse. Maps are certainly monotonous and relatively constricted. Whether it's the Afternoon Mountains or the Downs, you see the same stock "forest" level throughout the entire game, seldomly switched out for the "cave" level and the "island" level (which is more walking down paths surrounded by water). With a team of four, your characters can and will crowd themselves, and AI-controlled characters often get stuck behind rocks and field obstacles. On the other hand, the AI is often more skilled than you are at combat. While AI characters won't use special skills outside of Aggressive Mode, triggers frequently occur. The most common outcome is surrounding an enemy (or two or three) and ganging up until defeated. In Focus mode, PvE engagements are over in but a few seconds. Even full-screen bosses like the Mother Drake can get whittled away quickly with the right setup. Although the trophy system requires you to create one of each third-tier character, you are overly rewarded for creating a 3-1 setup: 1 tank to 3 long-range characters. As much as I wanted three Arquebusiers -- the game's version of a ranged gunner DPS -- I settled for three Magi because decent-stat staves are way more common of a drop. Glaring issues aside, I described this game to a PSN friend as a welcome reprieve from a much more intense RPG like Genshin Impact. I stand by that. If you need something relatively cheap and lighthearted to play, pick this one up. Edited January 8, 2021 by DoctorGameGeek
Popular Post EIdain
I've done Bugsnax, Astro's Playroom and Dark Souls 3 since I last posted here but I'll skip straight to the most recent. Platinum #68 - Days Gone One Percenter - Uncommon: 34.69% I get why some people really liked this game and maybe I'd have enjoyed it more if I hadn't spoiled the ending for myself when the game released (I didn't think I'd ever play it). To start off with the good stuff, it looks fantastic on the PS5. The writing for the main plot is pretty good (aside from one awful line), it's not Red Dead, but it's better than your Assassin's Creed's. The voice acting is really strong too, Sam Witwer as Deacon in particular is an excellent lead. And finally driving the motorcycle feels great. But holy shit does this game drag on, it could easily be 15 hours shorter, if not more. It doesn't help that mission variety is really poor. It's 60 hours of going from one camp to another just killing enemies with the occasional rescuing of a hostage and some tracking. The games major selling point, it's hordes, don't feature at all until the final act of the game. A straightforward trophy list for an open world game and a Sony first party one at that. Nothing that poses a much of a challenge. The most annoying trophy for me was one that it requires you unlock every skill, because if you do every mission in the game when you reach the end you're 3/4 levels short. This means you have to spend some time post game either; killing hordes - which uses up a tonne of resources meaning you have to farm resources too, or reseting all the camps on the map and farming those over and over. It's not that bad compared to stuff other games require you to do, I'd just got really tired of doing the same stuff over and over again by the end of the game. In addition this game has way too many collectibles (at least 240) most of which serve no real purpose, but at least you only need to collect 75% of them rather than every single one. It deserves credit for it's trophy checklist in the menu, which tracks exactly how close you are to achieving each trophy in the game, that was a nice touch and very helpful.Enjoyment: 7/10Difficulty: 2/10Playtime: Around 60 hours Edited January 8, 2021 by EIdain

RedRodriguez87
#332: All Trophies! Well, they aren't all gonna be hidden gems, I guess. Like I said in status update, the game is a fine substitution for those without a Nintendo console, but not anything spectacular. I've been pretty lucky in my enjoyment in most all the movie based games I played so far, so it was kind of a bummer that this one didn't continue the trend. Heck, it barely has anything to do with the movie. Seriously, you add up the seconds of all the clips they show from the movie, it may equal to ONE minute of run-time. There is no attempt to draw you into the game, or even get you curious about the movie. Also, despite none of the trophies being hard, it still is a demanding game, especially for one aimed at a younger audience. The fact that it still has a %16 rarity rate should be proof of that. Popular Post slaaack1
#13 Late Shift I have to say it was decent on my blind playthrough but because of that I had to do another 2 playthroughs (or more like 1 playtrough with restarting a certain cutscene 6 times and another shorter playthrough), which made this game kinda annoying. But I guess thats what I have to get when I only do easy plats. Still, I guess like 3-4 endings/main chapters would have done it aswell imo...

Popular Post Katt
Yakuza 3 (PS4) World's Greatest Dad Earn all other trophies in the game. Oh my god, minigames. Fuck em' all. Pool, baseball and bowling, the unholy trinity. Yeah, I'm not including mahjong because I've already learned how to play and get 50000 points in one game was a piece of cake after 7 Yakuza games. The Exposed Dragon trophy took me a few more games since the CPU is a cheating bastard even on beginner, lol. I almost gave up on this one more than once. But now I can say I have every platinum trophy for mainline Yakuza series from 0 to 6 (+Dead Souls). I have 3 RGG games in my backlog, so this is not over yet.
