AJ_Radio
6 hours ago, madbuk said: I started with the infamous trial DLC, and honestly it wasn't too difficult. Neither me nor my partner had played the game and we breezed through most of the trials anyway. As I was doing the trials, I realized that I was probably going to end up really enjoying this because the combat was so fun, and I'm glad I was right. I'd definitely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys God of War, especially if the new game disappointed you. It's just pure enjoyment from start to finish, and it's also an incredibly easy plat if that's your thing. The DLC is delisted, so for someone like me I would have to gameshare it with somebody else. Not worth it at this point in time. In my honest opinion the hack and slash genre has gone downhill these past few years. The PS3 generation had true to form hack and slash games as did the PS2 era. This generation it’s “Let’s throw in visuals in stunning 4K and try to appeal to a bigger audience by making a dumbed down, simplified, pathetic combat system so your little 5 year kid can get through them”. That’s basically what God of War 2018 is. Pretty much all I see from much of this generation, and I have no doubt this year’s Spider-Man will have an easy, simplified combat system to appeal to young kids. Popular Post Sergen
Injustice: Gods Among Us (Vita): Platinum #119 Difficulty: 3/10 Time Taken: 50+ hours Here's my 3rd platinum for this game. I'm glad I waited before buying the game, because I got it on sale for around £6, which was half the price it costed at full price. I'm the 2nd fastest achiever for this game, but I didn't really aim to get a really fast time for the game, I just wanted the platinum. I only have 1 vita console, so I wasn't able to grind in the best possible way, using 2 vitas in adhoc mode is the best way to level up for this version. I did buy the game for an alt account because my good friend @Captain Mahvel was willing to download it to his vita and help me with all the online. I intend to soon do the PS3 version of the game and get my quadruple stack for this game out of the way. I was expecting this version to be quite difficult, because I've never really played a fighting game a lot on the vita console, I did Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 with the PS TV. This game actually does play very well on the vita console and the controls are easy to get a hang of if you've played it on the other consoles. This game is and always will be in my opinion the most overrated fighting game platinum that is below 1% rarity, it's only that rare because so many people played it due to the appeal it has being a DC universe game that plays like Mortal Kombat. The only new thing about this version is the touchscreen mini-games, some of them are a bit annoying because the touchscreen doesn't always respond perfectly to what you're doing, but luckily when you play the S.T.A.R. Lab Missions with the touchscreen, you don't have to get 3 stars for the touchscreen trophy to unlock, Lobo's shooting mission and Zod's meteor dodging mission would have been quite frustrating to get 3 stars on if it was required. This game's simplicity makes it quite an enjoyable game and I'm glad I was able to play it on vita because on Monday I'm never home but I could take the vita with me and get some trophies for the game. Level 100 on this version takes longer than all the other versions by far, I started my grind for level 100 with around 20million XP, you need 50million for level 100. Thanks to a thread made by VirtuaSoulXRay_1 here: https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/63018-bug-to-get-level-in-injustice-psvita-without-boost-online/ I was able to freeze Lobo on Atlantis with Catwoman by following the video that was previously there. When I followed that advice, I then managed to get XP by idling the game with a fan, this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAkMwWXY7xI shows that setup. I know I'll easily be able to get the PS3 version platinum, because I'll actually have the opportunity to use a good controller and not have to do any touchscreen crap and I'll be able to turbo level 100 there. But because I don't have the PS3 Ultimate Edition, I won't be able to keep to the tradition of doing The Max while keeping the game at 0%, but I've done the battle enough times to beat it near-enough first attempt whenever I go for it.
Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#97 - Rise of the Tomb Raider "Platinum" You unlocked every trophy in the game The Tomb Raider games have a special place in my heart. Ever since I was a kid in the 90's, I used to sit with my Dad as he played the original games on the PC. As such, whenever I play a game with 'Tomb Raider' in the game, it's something a bit special. This game was another solid entry in the series, with a lot of really cool moments. The story here was pretty good, with nothing out of the ordinary for this style of game. In my mind, the Uncharted games still do a better job of story-telling in general. However, the 1st game in this reboot series (Tomb Raider) had a better story in my opinion. That said, it's not bad at all; there are some great, emotional cutscenes and characters are well-done here. Just nothing crazy special. Set-piece moments are here in spades though, and they're excellent. The best moments, in my mind, are those that aren't overly complicated, but look really awesome; and that's definitely the case here, from start to finish. Combat is also generally solid, with a few minor issues with hit detection and over-powered options (looking at you, poison arrows :P). However, there was a good mix of combat options that were unlocked as the story progressed, so I always felt that I had several different ways to play. On a personal level, I did NOT like how suppressors - once unlocked - were automatically applied to all weapons of that type. Sure, it's 'purely an upgrade' (with no damage decrease, etc.), but I didn't like how the pistols or rifles, looked or sounded... I want some 'weight' behind my shots, you know? Minor quibble, but something I noticed for sure. Otherwise, exploration is a blast - with a variety of fun collectibles - and tombs are back and better than ever. The variety of locations, and different puzzle-solving techniques, kept tombs feeling fresh and interesting to explore. They are still quite short, but they were a fun addition. Missions in general also had good variety, with some combat-heavy, some puzzle-heavy, some platforming-heavy, and some in between. Again, there were some really good (and some not so good) ones, but overall I was quite impressed. Sound and music here was also pretty good, as were the voices (for the most part, at least). Never really had a complaint, but also nothing overly memorable. Graphics were also quite impressive; I played on the PS4 pro (but don't have a 4K TV), and the 'Enriched Visuals' option was particularly good. 'Improved Framerate' was butter-smooth in parts, but also struggled a bit in the more 'explosive' segments of the game. A quite note on DLC. It's... a bit of a mixed bag. I really appreciate how they implemented a variety of different modes, with their own gameplay loops and play styles, but some worked better than others. For example, I really enjoyed the 'Croft Manor - Blood Ties' DLC. This was short and pretty simple gameplay-wise, but the story that unfolded gave much-needed backstory to the Croft family, with some very well-voice-acted collectibles throughout. The atmosphere here was great, and I had nothing but praise for this one. The 'Baba Yaga' DLC - while relatively short for a story-related DLC - was also good fun. The missions in the Vale were fun and interesting, and I liked how different this mission felt to the rest of the game. The rewards for completing it also looked cool, and were fun to use. Similarly, the 'Cold Darkness' DLC presented a stealth-horror element with 'zombies', puzzle-solving, and collectibles with a very different feel. Though a bit tedious after playing for a while, I really enjoyed this twist on the formula. The same can't be said for the 'Endurance' DLC. I get what they were going for - with a randomly-generated, survival-style mode - but it's just too tedious and frustrating for me. You can go for 15 minutes without finding a single crypt (needed for a trophy, for example), and I quickly tired of the repetitive environments and enemies. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I don't enjoy 'rogue-likes' in general, but I reckon you can give this a miss. I also didn't really the like the 'Croft Manor - Lara's Nightmare' DLC. It was frustrating (combat isn't meant to be that close-ranged in this game, in my opinion), too short, and not particularly fun. It's a few quick and easy trophies, but I would never play this again. Finally, the trophies... not really too bad on this front. 'Survivor' difficulty really isn't too hard; I'd definitely recommend it for your first playthrough if you're going for the platinum. There are a few harder segments, but nothing that poison arrows won't fix Everything else is pretty straight-forward, with chapter replays, and the ability to search for collectibles whenever you want. Time trials here were actually implemented quite well, in my opinion. You'll earn 'cards' throughout your game (also bought through an in-game store for credits), which are used as modifiers when replaying levels; they can either make things harder (for a bigger score multiplier), easier, or just more fun or interesting. Combined with the collectible element (wisps, lanterns, etc.) in each score-attack level, I actually had more fun than I expected when going for the big scores. However, one gripe I have is how strong the 'poison arrows' are in combination with the other huge multiplier cards (leading to an easy 350% bonus in most levels). They made the scores super easy to achieve; when considering that you get nearly 4x whatever you get within the level, I'd often reached the threshold within the first few minutes of the combat-heavy levels. However, you can still absolutely do whatever you like (in terms of load outs, etc.) and you shouldn't have much trouble achieving gold in each level. I had some fun with random / crazy load outs in some levels, and still got the scores pretty easy Overall, I had a lot of fun with Rise of the Tomb Raider. Is it one of the best games I've ever played? No. Is it still a great game? Absolutely. While there was nothing particularly memorable or 'fresh' about this game, it had a lot of really good elements that came together to make this absolutely worthwhile playing. I reckon most people would have fun playing through this experience at least once; whether you're an experienced Tomb Raider, or just beginning your journey Game rating: 9/10 Plat difficulty: 4/10 (some time trials are a pain, but practice makes perfect!) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Another decent offering from Artifex Mundi. It's nice that they're releasing games regularly for the PS4. I am addicted to playing them. I really enjoyed Persian Nights. The story was good and the voice acting was a lot better than some previous Artifex Mundi games. The puzzles weren't as difficult as some other games they've released and there were only a handful of hidden object scenes to complete. Only one playthrough required (if you play on Expert mode) and no additional chapter to play. Quick, easy and enjoyable platinum to obtain. #99 - The Wardrobe The Wardrobe Unlock all other trophies Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 2/10 What a fun point-and-click adventure! It's littered with pop culture references, bursting with humour and really funny dialogue. I found myself laughing aloud at a few references/conversations. (PS4) Everything's Ruined Date Achieved: 17 August 2018 Rarity: Rare (14-15%) Enjoyment: 5/10 So I can derive this game in 2 things. Aesthetic wise this is a really nice cutesy game, I mean just look at that cute platinum image. Gameplay wise it isn't all that bad, there are some ideas that are implemented and really thought over. So the work done and the concept sounds fun, I mean you can definitely see there is some work done here and this is in general a competent game. However they failed in for me the most important aspect and that is fun. The levels are straight up boring. It stopped me from playing 2 years ago and make this feel like a chore today. because of this I just can't recommend this game unless you want an easy plat. But I do say that the multiplayer looks alright, so you can always play this against some friends and have some fun with the game..

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#216 - Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match Panzer Vor!! Obtain all trophies. I'm a big fan of the anime so I definitely had to get this game when it came out. It features locations we've seen before, but this time we actually get to do battle in them ourselves! I've not played many games where tank warfare is the main focus, but I must say, I really do love how arcadey they feel in this game. Just the fact that you can perform drifts and circle behind an enemy tank to hit its weak point won me over instantly. That and cute anime girls of course. There's also a lot of customisation in this game, so you can change the colour of a tank, add decals, change its crew for different benefits, etc. I didn't count how many tanks were in the game, but there are A LOT. As for the platinum, it's quite grindy since you have to reach level 80 which takes a long time and you also have to spend 20 hours in-game (idling on the menu doesn't work). So yeah, it can get a little boring towards the end when you're just grinding out exp and time, but so long as you have something else to do, it's not so bad. As of writing this, I'm the 12th fastest achiever which is kinda cool. Edited August 17, 2018 by Undead Wolf

I managed to get most of this game done on the first try and the only things I managed to miss was 3 of the cards which is pretty outstanding considering the premise. Enjoyment: 6/10 - I never got bored at any time during this game but it wasn't something I was begging for more. I must say the twist at the end definitely did me something in terms of enjoyment but the rest of it was pretty bog standard.

Popular Post Buje-Boy
44: Murdered: Soul Suspect --------------------------------------------------------------------- Moving on Collected every trophy in the game. Difficulty: 3/10 Fun: 7/10 Rarity: 38.91% (uncommon) Includes 49 Trophies [1155 Points] 1...3...2...43 I played it back in August 2014 and didn't finish it. At that point where you have to possess the cat for the first time I didn't know what to do (had some trouble to jump) and where to go. Unfortunately gave up on this very quickly... After exactly four years I gave it a second try and it worked out perfectly. I can't still believe why I gave up on this first, I was a dumb dummy. This game combines everything what I like: detective work (even though some were really easy to solve), good ghost stories and (some is fictional and some is real) the exciting part of the history of witch trials. The demons were not so frightening, I liked the NPC design, but their abilities are just... meh. I liked this game, so recommended for everyone who likes those kind of games. Popular Post Honor_Hand
Platinum #87 - LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril (PS Vita) Rarity: 29.90% This is my first LEGO game since I played the first couple of Star Wars LEGO games that came out around 2005-2006. I actually thought those games were pretty fun back then in how they handled its simple gameplay with funny nods and references towards the movies. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes blah blah blah, however, ended up filling like a so-so experience. The gameplay was simple and there were a number of attempts at making humor at the characters from the Marvel universe but everything came out as flat to me. I also had numerous hit detection problems with my characters not hitting enemies even if they were standing right next to me. The worst offender in the game was its design structure. Going through these short levels for the first time felt alright but having to repeat them up to 4-6 times with a different hero (which plays pretty much the same to the one you used before) just to access a secret area or break a certain something that only that heroe is capable of doing is just plain boring. The stages and the enemies themselves didn't help either as there was very little variation on them, which only added to the feeling of repetitiveness. In the end, the game worked and it was easy to focus on the tasks at hands since there wasn't really much of a challenge to it. I'd say that only hardcore LEGO or Marvel fans may get a kick out of it, otherwise, the best thing to do would be to just avoid it. Platinum #88 - Lara Croft GO (PSN / PS Vita) Rarity: 79,31% Hurray! My first Tomb Raider game! Does this count as a Tomb Raider game even though it doesn't have "Tomb Raider" on the title? Now that I think about it, why wasn't it called Tomb Raider GO? ? This was a pretty fun and innovative kind of game for me. Think of it has a turn-based platformer puzzle game with an isometric perspective and there you have it. But it was so much more than that, the art style for the environments, monsters, and Lara herself was pretty unique too. Some would say that it looks kind of simple but I thought it was artsy enough to stand on its own. Most of the puzzles were well thought out with a number of head-scratchers starting from very early on in the game. The 2 extra chapters in the end ramped up the puzzle difficulty considerably but they can be beaten if you look closely at them and experiment a lot. I tried my best to not use the hint system since it pretty much solves the complete puzzle for you but I have to admit that I resorted to it at least 2 times with some of the later puzzles. Really, I was stuck on those for like 2-3 hours and wanted to move forward so I had to suck my own pride and use it lol There is one major issue that detracts from the overall experience and those are the numerous technical issues I found while playing on my Vita. I experienced constant frame drops, extremely long loading times, unresponsive pause menus and quite a number of instances of the game crashing and sending me back to the console menu. I'd say it is very much worth getting if you like puzzles and you happen to spot it with a huge discount. Platinum #89 - Hitman GO: Definitive Edition (PSN / PS Vita) Rarity: 70.49% This one was the antithesis of the previous game even though it works under the same "node-based platformer with an isometric perspective" principle. My main issue with the game was how stiff it was in its presentation. And really! You cannot go any stiffer than a bunch of trophy-looking figures moving around without barely any sort of animation. The game obviously tries to create some sort of diorama with how the stages and the characters look but it all came out looking as boring and simple to me. The gameplay does work though. Unlike Lara Croft GO, there is a bigger emphasis on stealth on this one. You can't let the other statues? look at you for the most part and each of them can only be taken down from certain angles or with a number of distractions. Sadly, puzzles were mostly on the easy side with only a few difficult ones near the end of the game. My main issue was, really, how the whole game looks. You would think an art style reminiscent of dioramas could look cool but, in my opinion, it made the game come out as bland to me. Since this one is the antithesis of the previous game, it ran perfectly on my Vita with blazing fast load times, fast and responsive menus, no crashing whatsoever and no bullshit anywhere. Nice! Out of these two, I'd personally recommend the Lara Croft game as the best despite the technical shortcomings. This title may be worth your time if you're looking for a quick Platinum on an afternoon and you don't mind the somewhat sterile presentation. Make sure to not pay more than $3 for the game though.
Popular Post MidnightDragon
#30 Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs This game wasn't too bad, but it was a bit dull at times. I followed the guide on this site that skipped all combat. It might've been more interesting if I had chosen to do battles. Still, even with the battles, there was a lot of gabbing that didn't really do much. The characters are definitely the best part of the game. I didn't experience any bugs or glitches, though I did extend my time by misreading part of the guide. Still, it was a decent journey. Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #156: Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (August 17th, 2018) Difficulty: 5/10 Excitement Rating: 3/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 22 - 25 Hours Those of you who read my posts may know that I have bitched about this game a great deal in the past couple weeks. As a game that was originally released for the Playstation 2 and Xbox consoles, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is not the worst game from that generation. Unfortunately the amount of frustration, stress and inducing headaches I had for this game made most of the journey a complete chore. The biggest flaws are the three required playthroughs, and the sheer amount of backtracking. To make my points more clear, I will provide a bullet list to break them down. A TL;DR (Too Long to Read) section will be at the bottom. Backtracking/Three Playthroughs - Difficulty trophies DO NOT STACK for this game, so that right there is an indicator that you will be spending a good deal of time on Warrior Within. Three playthroughs would of been alright if this game had more varied locations, but instead you will be backtracking to the same places, sometimes three times in one playthrough. For example, as part of the story you are required to enter the Mechanical Tower. You work your way up to turn a lever that opens one of two locks for a door in another location. Fair deal. But you have to go through this area at least three times more, once after you turn that lever and twice just to get through to where you need to go. So you will be coming across the same traps and enemies three times. Multiply that by three, because you have to do three playthroughs, and you have to go through the Mechanical Tower NINE TIMES FOR THE PLATINUM. The same traps, the same enemies, the same pointless backtracking. And you're going to be doing this A LOT over the course of this game in various locations. That is way too much, and this is where the 21 - 25 hours comes from in the trophy guides. Combat - The combat is awful and very poor executed. Dual weapons help a lot on Easy and Normal difficulties. Hard difficulty is where shit hits the fan. Your weapons do far too much little damage to most enemies you're going to face. Even good combos don't help much, enemies have far too much health. There are no invincibility frames, and you stand a good chance of having your sand tank powers get interrupted or not even get used at all, even though your sand tanks still got depleted. There is no crowd control, meaning that in later sections like the Library, a bunch of brutes and female assassins can kill you in a matter of seconds. Even with maximum health. Bosses range from laughably easy to very frustrating. One female boss is easy and predictable. A certain golem boss in the Prison area of the game is very difficult and cheap on Hard, especially with little to no sand tanks available. There is no consistency to the bosses, much like how you can literally skip most enemies in this game, and some you have to fight and kill to proceed forward. Camera/Platforming - Both the camera and the platforming work together.... against you. There were times when the camera changes during the middle of a spinning blade trap. This forces the player to have to change direction, so instead of moving up on the control stick you now have to move down. The Dahaka chase sequences often pit you moving at the camera, so you have no freaking clue what's going to follow as you jump and run from platform to platform. Platforming in this game is iffy due to the poor controls. Often I had the Prince jump in a completely different direction because I just so happened to fling the control stick in a slightly different direction. Jumping from one wooden beam to another while standing hundreds of feet from the ground should not be an exercise in frustration if I have the camera pointing straight at it. Platforms are a stable in the Prince of Persia games, but here in Warrior Within they were annoying and tedious to get through. Most traps can be overcome in a couple tries or so, but the controls ruin the experience. Graphics - Ubisoft decided to go with a more edgy, Quake-esque world as opposed to The Sands of Time which was more pleasant looking. I encountered a number of graphical glitches in the in-game cutscenes, a couple of which were so obvious I wonder why Ubisoft didn't fix them. Overall, a minor hiccup, although it is safe to say the graphics are completely dated when compared to today's offerings. Story - The story does an ok to good job of telling the Prince's quest to end The Sands of Time. The mainline cutscenes were a nice touch, demonstrating that even in the early 2000s Ubisoft was capable of making cutscenes that really enhance the story and the characters. Story was merely alright, and falls in line for a typical Prince of Persia game. Sound - Voice acting is barely noticeable in some cutscenes, whereas enemies make a loud screech and the Prince is yelling when he falls to his death. The sound was poorly done in this game. Why are the sound effects so much louder when I'm in combat while the cutscenes and story dialog has a lower volume? I should not have to turn down and turn up the sound on my stereo because your game can't keep it consistent. The music was also rather annoying. I don't mind heavy metal music, the problem is it doesn't fit or belong in a Prince of Persia game. This metal music generally plays during areas where there are enemies to fight, but it sometimes lingers when I haven't encountered any. So why even have it in the game? Unless Ubisoft was trying to attract the heavy metal crowd, which I wouldn't be surprised if that was what they were doing. TL;DR - Prince of Persia: Warrior Within was a chore to play through. Combat sucked, the trophies were a pain to go after, there was too much backtracking involved across three playthroughs. I didn't even mention the game breaking glitches Warrior Within has, such as the Sand Wraith glitch, or the Sand Portal glitch which happens at very end of the game. If the latter happened, I probably would of broken my game disc in half. It is just insane that Ubisoft would a release a game with those kinds of glitches, and not bother to patch them out. So there you have it. Would I recommend this game? Only if you are dedicated enough to go for the platinum. But even if you don't trophy hunt and are just playing this game casually, it is a rather boring, unsatisfying slogfest with far too much backtracking. You will be tired by the time Warrior Within is over. And trust me, after three playthroughs, you deserve a well earned platinum. A poor Playstation 3 port, which coming from Ubisoft I'm not in the least surprised after I saw the Ezio Auditore collection on the PS4.
