Popular Post Redgrave
#306: The Jedi Survivor - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor When I wrote the Platinum post about Fallen Order I said I hoped Jedi Survivor had some improvements and thankfully Jedi Survivor pretty much does improve on everything from Fallen Order. I was not expecting to wind up liking it like I thought I would have considering the track record for the other current Star Wars games and other stuff in general. The opening starts off very strong and even kind of felt like something you would see in a good heist movie. Not only that but it introduces the mechanics and the other characters very well. It's here where you meet one of the side-characters Bode Akuna who I couldn't help but think he looked like that YouTuber Wowman and kept expecting him to talk to Cal about some creepy analog horror video he found on the HoloNet. Anyway, Bode winds up being a really good side-character who has a good dynamic with Cal and the other members. I also didn't realize until after beating the game he was voiced by the same guy that was Charles in Red Dead Redemption 2. After the opening, the story keeps it's momentum going with only one section kind of slowing down because it's something of another fetch quest kind of deal but once it gets past that it picks up again and I was just impressed with how well it was handled to where the ending got to me and I have to wonder where it will go from there. The best way I can describe it is it really feels like a long journey where you expect it to end but it keeps going and when it finally does you're left to reflect on everything that happened. That isn't to say it isn't without it's flaws, but I think this is a case where the positives outweigh the negatives. The first thing is that the story ties into the Old Repub-- I mean, the legally distinctively named High Republic, and I suppose depending on how you look at it, the game serves as an advertisement for it. This is done with there being the big Macguffin on Koboh and there is the Dagan Gera character who unfortunately feels underdeveloped and I'm not sure if that's because they just couldn't because they had to make room for everything else or it's meant to interest people into getting what I will assume will be other High Republic novels/comics/whatever to learn about him more. Spoiler I feel like his sudden turn to the dark side was, well, a bit too sudden. I think he would have been a lot better if he was weak from being in stasis so long so he was forced to stay with Cal and so he can act as a "man from a different time" kind of character that Cal and the others can talk to and he briefly serves as a mentor until he finally snaps after learning how the Jedi let themselves and by extension the Republic be fooled and destroyed by a single Sith Lord among the other the other grudges from his past. Instead it feels like he wasn't given much time to really interact with Cal before swinging a lightsaber at him. On the other hand, I feel like if they did go with this they wouldn't have had long to develop the Bode twist at the end, so admittedly I am conflicted on if he was handled just the right away or not enough when you think about it in regards to the rest of the story. If I remember right though I'm pretty sure the trailers implied he would have played a much larger role. Along with that, they also reference certain events that I am pretty sure happens in some tie-in novel so it feels like you're missing some information at times but with what I have seen of that novel I am better off not acknowledging it and will gladly just use my own imagination when it comes to them referencing certain events. With that said, I really appreciate a certain boss fight being done. If you played it you know which one I mean. Spoiler The Darth Vader boss fight felt like they were making up for his appearance in Fallen Order by actually giving him a proper boss fight and he actually feels like a genuine threat/challenge. Not to mention they have him kill off Cere which I was surprised they did. There was also one part that felt like they asked you not to think about it too much. But I just simply can't do that you see. Spoiler It's the part in the ISB base where Cal takes an ISB uniform as a disguise right after setting off alarms and killing a bunch of guards, including Purge Troopers. Cal is for some reason not recognized on the spot despite being hunted down for years and so you think the Purge Troopers would have at least made him out. Basically, the disguise should not have worked because he's showing his face for others to see and I probably could have let it slide if the area started off with this disguise and not right after setting off alarms and killing people. While I suppose this sequence isn't as insulting to ones intelligence like that ridiculous part in the Kenobi series where Obi-Wan sneaks Leia under a trenchcoat in a room full of Imperials and nobody even notices him acting suspicious or the fact that he has another pair of legs visible under the coat, this still made me raise an eyebrow. However, I will let it slide this time because it wasn't too absurd and I feel like this was something that the writers or whoever wound up having to quickly come up with. Lastly, in regards to the twist near the end. Spoiler Bode being a traitor was done really well since it didn't feel too obvious and you start to pick up something being off shortly before his turn. It felt like there was a right amount of build up and when you start seeing it happen I actually thought the twist with him was going to be where his daughter was actually dead the whole time or she got captured by the Empire and so he was forced to comply at some point. But him turning out to be a Jedi was a nice twist too and I like his fighting style. By the end of it I actually felt some kind of emotional pull from it since it actually felt like it was something naturally woven into the overall story of Star Wars and not some hollow gimmick made to sell merchandise or get reactions from social media. Along with all that, the combat and other mechanics felt like a step-up for the most part however I do feel like there is something that keeps it from being ideal. I don't want to say it is flawed but I do think there are a couple of cracks. While I do appreciate that there are many options to handle combat, it felt like when it came to multiple enemies attacking there just isn't much you can really do to avoid getting hit because often times enemies will have back-to-back unblockable attacks that also track which means you will get clobbered even if you dodge the first one. And even then chances are there are also ranged enemies that will fire a rocket or overwhelm you with shots from off-screen because you are focused on the melee enemies. I feel like this could have been remedied by letting Cal do a leap over an enemy like how the Arkham games do it when it comes to unblockable attacks. Cal starts off by having the double jump so I don't see why that also couldn't be incorporated into the combat by letting him jump over someone's head. It also would have been nice if you could change the saber stances in the pause menu or something instead of just letting you only have two at a time and the only way you can change them is by resting at a Meditation Point. Ideally, I think it would have been better if you could hold the left d-pad and there is a saber stance wheel you can pick from there. I also liked how unlike Fallen Order, the planets didn't feel so barren. In fact the inclusion of the cantina with all the patrons that you could talk to helped make the world feel more alive. For the trophies there isn't anything difficult however I will say that the Force Tears were aggravating especially the combat ones. I feel like the ones involving the beast type enemies were just hyper-aggressive and full of constant attacks that you couldn't block or dodge properly. They didn't really feel like challenges and just more like annoyances that were made for the sake of being annoying. I played on Jedi Knight difficulty which I guess is Normal difficulty but at times it really felt like it was on Hard. It was kind of funny though hearing Dagan try to talk shit during his boss fights but what he didn't know was I've fought more respectable Force users before and beat Sekiro so I was more than prepared to style on him. So yeah, I wound up liking this more than I thought I would and it's pretty much the only Star Wars thing in recent years I could say I genuinely liked. Cal Kestis especially is a very endearing and likeable character. I also feel bad for him not only because of what he went through but also that unfortunately, no matter what he does all roads will lead to The Force Awakens where the struggles he and the Rebellion went through didn't really matter and the once great Luke Skywalker becomes a depressed hermit. It's kind of funny because Cal picks himself up multiple times and doesn't give up, so it's too bad he wasn't around to give Luke advice although maybe he chose to distance himself from all that which I don't blame him, or hopefully he met a peaceful end before all that. I also liked that you could also customize him more in this and so I gave him the big biker mustache to give him that ol' Texas Jedi look like Nat Skywalker from the Legacy era comics. I only wish the Obi-Wan robes weren't pre-order exclusive since that's the only Jedi cloak you could get. There are Jedi robes but they have an odd pattern to them that I can't say I was a fan of regardless of the coloring scheme you could cycle through.
Popular Post Edunstar84
Plat # 122 THEATRHYTHM Maestro Got all trophies The nostalgia hit hard, and I felt a bit sad too because I call myself an FF fan, but I've only completed a handful of games (that must be corrected soon). I consider myself an average rhythm game player, and this posed a bit of a challenge. Not hitting the notes mind you, but clearing the quests for each song. Most of the quests can be completed with an average team composition; Noctis, Faris, Bartz and Cloud. I would say the last 20% of song quests, needed specialty teams. I would definitely recommend Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line to anyone who loves Final Fantasy or rhythm games. Popular Post Spageos
#52: Jet Moto 2 Once again, being a huge Twisted Metal fan and having originally played Jet Moto due to it being created by Singletrac, I went ahead and gave this a shot. I actually preferred the tracks, and the races feeing less clustered this time around compared to the first game. I found this one to be a slight improvement in the short while I played, but both this game and the first one are neat little gems from the 90's. #53: Resistance: Retribution I loved Resistance: Fall of Man back then, so I felt obligated to give this a shot. There is some serious jank here and there but it felt nice to play a game from the series again, definitely worth trying if you liked any of the prior games I feel. Very easy to finish and pretty fun if you need to just turn your brain off and fire away. #54: Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars Strangely enough, bought this for the Senran Kagura characters, but stayed for the Neptunia characters. The game felt more like it catered to the latter than the former. I went it with low expectations (rightfully) but this one is definitely fairly decent. I just used Vert and Noire for the entirety of the game with no issues difficulty wise. Again, it kind of just falls into that category of not thinking and just playing, hacking and slashing away. The only severely bothersome thing for me were the mouth animations in cutscenes - just constantly moving without any means of syncing with the dialogue, it's just really off-putting. Also, just don't do what I did and buy the game full price a day before it went on sale, lol. Definitely wait for this on sale if you have any interest in it cause it only takes about 20 hours to finish. Popular Post Juzota
#200 + 10000th Trophy - The Last of Us Part I It can't be for nothing Collect all trophies It all began in 2013 with my first ever Platinum-trophy which was the original The Last of Us. When the remastered version for PS4 was released, I made sure it was going to be my 20th Plat. 100th Plat was Mad Max (great game btw) in 2016, because I didn't really believe there would be more of The Last of Us. But then there was The Last of Us Part II and of course it had to be my 150th Platinum. And now in 2024, here we are with The Last of Us again. 200 Platinums and 10000 trophies overall. Those numbers for me are something I never thought was going to happen. I've had some ups and downs with trophy hunting, but at the moment it feels pretty cool hobby. About the game itself? Yeah, it's pretty good. I'd say it's my favorite game of all time so yeah, pretty good. Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 2/10 --- Big thanks to PSNP community for massive motivation and inspiration for trophy hunting! This is just the beginning... 34
Popular Post Mr_Wright95
Sackboy: Big Adventure (PS5) 181 Fun 8.5/10 Difficulty 6.5/10 First off let me start by praising this game for its couch coop. As someone that enjoys playing games with their partner, this feature is always greatly appreciated. With that being said the gameplay was pretty solid throughout and whilst this was my first experience in the "Sackboy / LBP" universe it felt fairly authentic based on the footage I have seen of LBP. The game itself is fairly stock standard for platforming with some nice Easter Eggs and gameplay features that keep each level feeling fresh. The levels also incrementally ramp up the difficulty in a way that was appreciated by myself (from the perspective of engagement) as well as by my partner as she didn't feel like there was a massive difficulty spike. The 6.5/10 difficulty boils down to 1 infamous trophy which is for completing a gauntlet of all 15 knitted knight trials in a row. After having done this on reflection I would not say it is "that hard" but moreso boils down to practice and muscle memory. It took me about 4-5 hours of practice before I eventually started to get to the last few stages every run. Overall a great game and a Platinum I am quite proud of. Popular Post ShinigamiSensei-
#264: Moonscars Moonscarred Obtained all throphies! - 19.19% RARE - Enjoyment: 6.5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time: 18 Hours This game has a similar vibe to Blasphemous, but the biggest issue is that it simply isn't as good. It feels more like a second-tier metroidvania. Gameplay wise, it feels... ok-ish, combat is good but is extremely laggy on ps4, has some interesting choices that make the game easier the better you are but at the same time none of the upgrades really stand out. Map is easy to navigate around, well placed save points and that’s about all i can say positive about it...🤷♂️ #265: Tinykin Tinyking Obtain all trophies and become a legendary archaeologist. - 49.29% UNCOMMON - Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Time: 10 Hours Ok, there’s so much to love here, this game is charming, it’s witty, and it’s full of adorable creatures. Plus, the gameplay feels really smooth, the level design is superb, with each of the 6 areas feeling unique not in just design but in storytelling and exploitability, specially Balnea in my opinion...geez this level is great! ❤️. Long story short, do yourself a favor and don't skip this marvelous little game. Edited March 25 by ShinigamiSensei-
Popular Post dj_lalle
Suicide squad kill the Justice league for me, what an experience. The game was decent enough at the start, the story was more to the meh side. I liked the conversations/banter between the characters. The fights was also fine at the start but became very repetative in the end. The missions/side missions was fine at first but the endgame it was just the same over and over and over again. Get 4 characters to lvl 30 was fine enough, still a little boring, but then starting at lvl 1 again and get to lvl 50 again was rather boring, so a total of 170 lvls a bit much. At the start it was fine, but in the end it became kinda boring, maybe wait for a sale if you wanna go for it. Fun: 8/10 at the start, 5/10 when finished. Plat diff: 3-4/10 everything is do-able. Popular Post GothGirlMaxine
Inner Ashes (PS5) Platinum You have obtained all the trophies Difficulty: 2/10 Platinum time: ~2 hours Inner Ashes is a first-person narrative adventure in which the player experiences how Alzheimer’s affects people and their memories through an emotive story of a father and daughter set in dreamlike sequences. The main character, Henry, must go on an introspective journey through two different realities on his quest to remember why he and his only daughter, Enid, have been estranged for so long. While this game is not the most impressive platinum out there, this little gem of an indie game is just superb, and well worth experiencing. I made a guide for this game last year, which you can check out here. The art style, the story, the music, everything about this game ties together perfectly, it's just fantastic. Not to mention, this is a game from the PlayStation Talents Program, which are generally great games to play, and Inner Ashes is no exception to that. If you enjoy indie games that take you on an emotional and memorable journey, I urge you to check this game out. Thanks for reading!

Popular Post JadedDragos
#165 Paw Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls This one was ok, it lacks what the second one was good in. The vehicles are a lot more sluggish in this one, including the fastest vehicle. It is a collectible based game again within the story-ish. You'll be playing mostly minigames, because there are a looooot of them to do. This was a good play though; it was just the vehicle sections and vehicle minigames that I think made it less fun.

Popular Post PotrikBerger
God of War 2 (PS3) - PS+ Stream Anticipation - 4/5 I really enjoyed my time with the original GoW, and that was a big surprise to me as traditionally I'm not too keen on games which can enter into the button mashing arena. But I was constantly blown away and had my expectations trampled over and over, again and agin whilst playing it. So GoW2 I was expecting more greatness and really looking forward to jumping straight into it. Enjoyment - 1/5 I didn't like it at all. It felt to me more like a platforming puzzle game with a few fights sprinkled in between each room. Too much jumping, too much climbing, too many levers, too many gimmick bosses, too many blocks to move. And the whole getting wings things was bizarre and for me at least, didn't add a single bit of value to the gameplay. The pace of the first one felt ferocious. This game felt glacial in comparison and it was a real slog for me to get through. Retrospect - 2/5 I really didnt like this game. To me at least it felt completely different to the first game, which blew my mind and all expectations I had going into the game out of the water. With this one my expectations were really high and all I found was disappointment after disappointment. Whereas GoW1 made me want to jump straight into the 2nd game, GoW2 has almost put me off completely even trying GoW3. This game just wasn't for me.
Popular Post PotrikBerger
A Way Out - PS4 (PS+) Anticipation - 3/5 I'd heard really great things about the game and it was a title which would afford me to play through a game with my eldest son so I was especially looking forward to that. Enjoyment - 3/5 It was pretty good. The voice-acting was top notch and was probably my favourite thing about the whole game. I felt the strongest part of the game was the first third where we were in the prison together. After that I did feel like it was loosing its way in parts and on two separate occasions my playing partner fell asleep during the game which put an untimely stop to the play on those particular evenings and kind of led to him becoming disengaged with the game. This resulted with me needing to nag him to finish up the game with me which was defeating the original purpose of playing something together because I could feel he wasn't really into it or enjoying the game loads but rather ,I felt anyway, just felt a bit sorry for his dad and powered through the rest of the game on sympathy alone. Retrospect - 2/5 The characters are superb and I was invested in them both right from the start up until the end of the game. The gameplay was a bit slow once you were out of the prison and I felt like that's the point the game certainly lost my son. Overall I liked it though. Short enough to not become unwelcome and long enough to feel like you've played a proper game and not wasted your cash. However it isn't something I necessarily rush to recommend, I think who you intend to play it with will change how much you take out it.
Popular Post PotrikBerger
The Entropy Centre - PS5 (Digital Copy) Anticipation - 3/5 This one had been on my wishlist for a long time and recently it had a big price drop so I snapped it up and jumped right in. Enjoyment - 3/5 You wake up in a strange facility on the surface of the moon, you discover a gun-like tool which can bend time and also houses your sassy companion, Astra. As you proceed through the Entropy Centre you quickly realise you are the only person there and your only connection to other people is through discovering and reading emails on various computers you come across. I thought this was a cool puzzle game for a couple of reasons. The first being that actually just moving through the facility itself is unravelling a mystery. Where is everyone? What does this facility actually do? And perhaps most perplexing of all, why on earth do we need to do puzzles to create energy. The second reason being the puzzles themselves are great fun and not once did I feel that frustration that can sometimes come with puzzle games. This, in truth is mainly because the puzzles themselves aren't too challenging. Its all about reversing time and rewinding various types of blocks into different positions to help you navigate and move around each puzzle room to reach each respective exit. Essentially this means for 90% of the time you just need to be able to plan in reverse and you'll breeze through most puzzles. And just when it does start to feel like the puzzles are getting a little stale, the game introduces new elements through new types of 'blocks' (ones that can make a bridge, or ones which can allow you to reach higher platforms etc) or new ways to traverse each level (like fans and rivers etc). Visually the game can be a bit hit and miss. All of the internal rooms fell like assets which are reused over and over again and for me this kept making me think of the Stanley Parable with the internal spaces of the centre feeling very samey which became a bit stale after a while. The same cannot be said of the areas outside the facility though, where shots of the earth and outer space almost look perfect and are very pleasing on the eye. Retrospect - 2/5 I don't think it is one which will linger long in the memory, but It was a good puzzle game and the time mechanic central to all gameplay was always interesting to me, as was the story which had me invested and keen to find out exactly what happened. Visually it can get a bit stale and perhaps the game goes on just a puzzle room or two too many at the end. Overall if you looking for a puzzle game palate cleanser in between the larger games you playing then this is definitely worth picking up whilst its on sale (in the UK at least anyway).

Popular Post MakotoKaCun
Platinum # 129 Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Preeminent Goddess I finally finished this game. It was quite an interesting experience, featuring a mix of 2.5D platforming, battles, and addictive farming simulations. While the story isn't particularly exceptional, it still manages to captivate in its own way. Overall, I'd consider it a hidden gem that emerged unexpectedly. My advice is simply to play and enjoy the game, and unwind with some relaxing chill time. I noticed there's still no guide for this game on PSN. Considering the challenges I faced, especially in obtaining the Glutinous Trophy, I might consider creating one. If anyone is interested or dependent on my timing, I may proceed with it. But first, I plan to delve into Persona 3 Reloaded.

Popular Post HawaiiGator
#233 - Sackboy: A Big Adventure I started this game because my 6 year old noticed it on the PS Plus catalog and asked if she could play it with me. I am so glad she suggested it because this game is amazing. As someone that loves platformers, this game was perfect. During my platinum run, both my 11 and 13 year olds decided to join in on the fun and help out in co-op when it became too difficult for my youngest. It was so much fun but eventually, it became too difficult for them as well so they cheered me on. I got 100% on every level with the exception of a few co-op levels and torched the Knitted Knight challenges. The last challenge wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be though. I ended up getting gold with a time of 7:53 after just 12 attempts. After that, I played the first level with my 6 year old and let her get all the points. At the end of the level, she won and we did a high five to earn the "Up High" trophy for high fiving in co-op which popped the platinum. I saved it just for her and it made her happy when she saw it. She is a young trophy hunter in the making and I'm glad that I could share that moment with her. Overall, this game is absolutely amazing. Highly recommended and a must play. 10/10 Edited March 26 by HawaiiGator

Popular Post disaster500
#108 - Ratchet: Deadlocked - 36.64% Personal Difficulty - 3/10 Time Played - 13 hours Ratchet: Deadlocked is a R&C spinoff game based entirely off the arenas/missions in R&C 2 and 3. If you've played those games, Deadlocked is basically that, but for a whole game. After the events of R&C 3, Ratchet gets kidnapped from the Starship Phoenix and is forced to compete in the DreadZone, an illegal combat sport broadcast on TV. Ratchet has to compete in the DreadZone's challenges for survival, but also to take down the whole thing and rescue other contestants. The different game structure means there's a lot less platforming in the game, but combat for R&C is business as usual. You have a selection of crazy weapons to kill stuff with, and you blast everything in sight. Deadlocked has less weapons than its predecessors, but the overall weapon quality is higher. There's no really bad weapons this time, they all have their uses. They even managed to make a version of the shitty Holoshield Glove from R&C 3 actually useful, which is mindblowing. Weapons are also slightly customisable, with some minor mods you can buy and slot in weapons, giving small buffs as well as elemental effects (shock, acid, freeze etc). One aspect of combat I didn't like so much though is your combat bots. In this game you have 2 NPC robots following you around and shooting enemies. You can also command them to do specific objectives when you're close. They barely add anything to regular gameplay, you just press the D-pad every so often when the game tells you to. They become very annoying when you're trying to earn the skill points though, as the robots will steal your kills, and you can't command them to stay away from enemies. The trophy list for this game is like most R&C games, with a few omissions. There are no Gold Bolts, but you still need all skill points, as well as getting every weapon to level 10. Instead of having 30 skill points, this time there are over 150. They are generally much easier though and less gimmicky (and the game actually tells how to earn them). You'll need to play about half of Challenge Mode (NG+) for the last skill point which will probably be your last trophy. Overall, I enjoyed this game, and thought it was a nice change of pace from the previous R&C games. The next 2 games in the series (Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty) don't have trophies, but I'll probably still do a playthrough of them. Next R&C platinum will be Crack in Time, but I'll probably play other stuff first.
