Popular Post Redgrave
#307: The Epitome of Super Earth - Helldivers 2 I was excited to play this when it got announced because I remember liking the first game and not only that but they really knew how to market it by having it be clearly influenced by Starship Troopers which is a movie I really love. Unlike the first game the obvious change is that they went to a third-person camera style (that you can also go first person when aiming if you want) and I feel like this change really worked out in the game's favor because of how awesome and chaotic the battles can be. It just felt really hectic and cinematic in a way that the top-down view from the first game couldn't do. There isn't very much in the way of the story to talk about since the only real cutscene is the opening when starting the game up. I assume there is also a cutscene if you win the wars but I haven't looked that up. I also think that the story is hidden in the background in regards to stuff you can examine and other stuff which is fine. I do love how unapologetic it is with the Starship Troopers inspiration though, with the recruitment advertisement when you start the game up along with the fact that you fight giant bugs and just how Super Earth is basically like the Federation. Along with that is the soundtrack which has some songs that definitely sound like they borrow some cues from the Starship Troopers soundtrack, notably the drop pod and the extraction music with the latter having a moment that really sounds like it's from the movie. I would love it if they added more songs in, especially something that sounds like the Klendathu Drop song and maybe even a metal version of it. Along with the bugs (Terminids) which gives that Starship Troopers feel when fighting them, the alternative is the Automatons which offer a different kind of combat where they will shoot back at you which makes maps like Malevelon Creek amazing firefights with red bolts flying all around you and explosions going off and blowing away trees and other cover you might get behind. It's really great with how different fighting the (currently) two factions feels. I also love how the Automatons have some Star Wars influence on them with them having AT-ST looking walkers and now currently they have something that looks kind of like an AT-AT. I actually think I liked fighting them more than the Terminids. Along with all that you can name your ship through pre-selected options as well as customize your Helldiver. I named my ship SES Sentinel of the Stars but if I could actually choose the name for it I would have more than likely just taken a name from Star Wars like Invisible Hand, Devastator, Executor, Eclipse, or whatever else sounds cool. The customization for the Helldiver is cool too in the forms of capes and helmets, some of which I feel like have Star Wars and Halo influence because a few helmets and even armor made me think of Clone trooper or Republic Trooper armor from The Old Republic, as well as a couple helmets that came off as Mandalorian inspired, and a couple that looked like ODST helmets from Halo. There isn't too much in the way of variety right now but as of writing this they did announce a new Warbond that will have new armor so I look forward to getting the helmets from that at least. In general I hope to see what else they come up with. The only issues that I feel like the game has right now is that there isn't much in the way of armor passives that encourage different builds so I just stick with armor that I feel like I can get the best mileage out of in terms of defense and making sure it keeps all three stats balanced. I don't really bother with heavy armor and I don't want to be too vulnerable with light armor. The other is how the in-game currency is handled. I suppose in terms of Samples it adds up the more you play but I feel like the biggest issue is Super Credits. I think the way the Super Credits are done could be handled slightly better because it's difficult to get some without grinding a bit in order to buy the Warbonds you want. You can find some out in the field but the most you get is 10-20 and Warbonds cost 1,000 to unlock. You can also get them from Super Credits in Warbonds too which alleviates it somewhat. I do think that you should be awarded Super Credits for completing daily tasks at least. Maybe not a whole lot but I feel like getting 20-25 per daily is fine and completing a priority task can give you 50-100. Maybe even successfully completing a mission can give you 5-10 depending on your star rating with five stars giving you 20. I guess if they did this though it would mean people are less inclined to spend real money on the Super Credits but I feel like including even one of these options would be good enough. Despite that I really feel like this game gives a great sense of comradery with other players that very few games accomplish. I think the last game that really did for me was Nioh 2 and Peace Walker. I can't express enough how awesome it feels when you get with a group that plays well or at least well enough that you manage to complete as many objectives as possible. There have been many times where I will be with a group where we really feel like some kind of elite commando unit going through enemy lines and taking out objectives quickly and efficiently and it just feels so damn cool when you're running through the map seeing all the bases you destroyed while you and your squadmates armor looks dirty and covered in either Terminid guts or Automaton blood-oil(?). When you get back to the ship, most of the time people will be shaking hands, fist bumping, or hugging as a celebration. It really feels like you went through an ordeal with a squad that had each other's back and I just love that this game has that feeling. I have said it before but I think a game like this in the X-COM setting would be amazing, especially if you put in some Peace Walker/MGSV elements like the gadgets you could make. I just love the idea of being able to research some crazy weapon or whatever and you drop in a new players game and you appear as some larger than life hero to them with all the stuff you went through to make. On the other hand, you can join other veteran players and you all feel like you are professionals that know what you are doing. I get that feeling with this game to an extent especially if someone competent uses the mech suit properly and annihilates the enemies or higher level players come in and use the stratagems properly. For the trophies, I am willing to say that Helldivers 2 is slightly easier than the first game because there are some trophies from the first game that aren't in this like having to stealth a whole mission, or get 100,000 kills. I suppose if they add DLC this could change and I am willing to say that maybe some trophies will become more difficult depending on the updates they make. I don't know if they really will but they did add new enemy types for the factions such as flying bugs for the Terminids as well as gunships for the Automatons. They did kind of nerf some enemies though, although the gunships for the Automatons can be a bit too crazy at times. And who knows if they will add the Illuminate at some point. That said I still think the list is challenging enough but nothing too crazy especially if you have a group that knows what to do for certain trophies. If it wasn't obvious enough I really love this game and I look forward to seeing the future updates it brings. I will leave off with a Malevelon Creek edit that I hope encourages Super Earth citizens to enlist. Spoiler Edited April 6 by Redgrave

FUN: 10/10 DIFFICULTY: 2/10 PLAT NO.33 CUTENESS: 99/10 Don't know why it took me almost 2 years to give this a go! It's just such a blast to play, from start to finish, with adorable depictions of Sony icons we've grew up with, a blast of a sound track and in all such a positive and fun experience. Though anything that isn't an open world game is a breath of fresh air to me, this one is really special. And it was free! Zack is one of my favorite characters of FF and my favorite FF7 character. Crisis Core really made him justice, on the original game Zack barely has time on screen and despite that he became one of the most cherished characters in the franchise, because one thing that the original FF7 does amazingly is building up characters and moments. Crisis Core was originally launched on the PSP in 2007 and I love how you can tell it came in the 2000s, I mean Zack uses a flip phone haha the same happens with the Advent Children movie. Crisis Core Reunion is more than a remaster from the original PSP game, it's more like a "pseudo remake", it changes models, mechanics, the voices, etc. but it's pretty much the same as the original, just "modernized". Despite the changes is you ever played a PSP game you can still tell that beneath all the changes there's still a PSP game, for example the way the Zack moves around or the preference of the left stick in combat, personally I found it very confusing trying to change between locked on enemies with the left stick haha, the combat system is very similar to KH Birth By Sleep, it also remained me a lot of MGS Peace Walker, some of the best PSP games, other than that Crisis Core/CC Reunion is still a great game that expands the FF7 universe, like always it has good music like the incredible song Why from Ayaka and new characters. Nomura and his team did a better job in this 2007 game than in the Remake as for the writing and story goes. I have to say that I liked more Crisis Core than the movie Advent Children (the movie is just too much Nomura haha), anyway this is a game that ties the FF7 trilogy (ccff7+ff7original+movie) and my recommended way for this trilogy would be FF7orignal->movie->CC and then with the whole "Remake" project. It was pretty fun playing as Zack, that ending was brutal and heartbreaking, totally a character that deserves having his own game. Having this platinum... IT DOES FEEL GOOD! Most of the trophies are very simple to get, but most of them are missable too so you'll gonna have to keep an eye on them, the guide here on psnp on missable trophies is top tier, no problems at all with that. Then you'll have to complete 300 missions!!! But no panic, CCR is a game that is very easy, I made my way to chapter 10 without to much thinking and with a lot of foes burned with Fira haha, and the same goes for mission but things get hard when you reach 6 stars and up missions, at this point you should level up stats and get gear, trust me this missions are all about getting good stats and materias leveled up rather than skill, and these missions are very short and all of them are about killing something, so they don't take to much time. Then you'll have a trophy for beating hard mode, the good thing is that you only need to beat the final boss for this trophy, so I recommend living this trophy for the very end, since once you defeated Minerva (super boss tied to the secondary missions) you can breeze this with no problems. Crisis Core Reunion was simple but an awesome game to play and to get the plat, I highly recommend it for anyone that likes the FF7 universe and wants to ride the Lifestream for a little more! "My honor, my dreams... they are yours now." Spoiler Goodnight Zack...

Popular Post Carol
#248 Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Prince of Persia Acquire all Trophies I tried the demo for this game and I instantly knew this was a game that I wanted to play. I think Ubisoft created a great game; it may be rather short, but it was thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. It has some tough platforming challenges and bosses, but, in general, I think the game is always fair and accessible to everyone. Exploring and finding collectibles was also fun and rewarding. This is definitely a game that I recommend.
Popular Post kindajustin
#61 - Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Earned my first platinum in just over 6 months today and have several other games I finally plan to try and get into soon. I've been pretty out of it with trophy hunting for a while now, it's actually fun being back. Overall this game was way more fun than I expected it to be, the perfect game to break me out of my trophy slump. The story was alright with some nice scenes to watch but I was really more into the combat. It's a pretty simple game once you get the hang of it. Hunting high-level hardcore mode bosses with randoms is surprisingly a great time, and I like to do dances/emotes in games a lot and everyone in SAO seems to find it really funny for some reason. This game has one of the friendliest and most productive communities I've ever seen lol. The little bit of the anime I've watched wasn't super special but I'll surely give it another go in the future. I think after I make some more progress on the DLC trophies, I'll start RWBY: Grimm Eclipse soon. Gonna get that game done now just in case WB pulls any delisting/shutdown nonsense with Rooster Teeth shutting down next month.
Popular Post NostalgicMinion
#53 - Resistance Burning Skies This is no doubt the worst reviewed Resistance game in the franchise, and I can see why. However, treating it as a mindless shooter, it's not half bad. The weapons can be fun, there's plenty of things to shoot, and for you trophy hunters, it's a relatively painless adventure. The only problem it has for trophy hunting is that there is a singular online trophy requirement. The servers are still up and running as of April 2024, but for how much longer? Fortunately, it's an easy trophy to get with a booster. All you need to do is complete one multiplayer match. You don't have to win, score anything, just let the timer hit 0. Best way to do it is via party matchmaking, as it will allow you to load a game with only two people. The other person only needs to make sure you get into the match, and they could leave if they wish (unless they also need the trophy). The game's story isn't even worth talking about, and I'll be honest, I couldn't even tell you if it holds any significance in the Resistance lore. You play as a firefighter turned Chimera killer (almost immediately), trying to find your wife and kid who got lost trying to flee the invasion in NYC. The game did give off serious Freedom Fighters vibes, which makes me want to play that one again. The levels are not too long, however if you do happen to die, and a cinematic or something occured after the part you resume from, you will need to watch it again. Anytime you load up the campaign where you left off you will have to watch the mission cinematic again; even during chapter select. There's no way to skip them as far as I know. Most of the trophies can be achieved by just playing the campaign as normal. I had maybe 2-3 clean up trophies upon completion, though I was aware I needed melee and headshot trophies ahead of time. Best to buy this through PSN as it's $15 (USD) as opposed to the $30+ you'll find this for physically. Plus you may be required to buy the online pass if you buy it physical, which adds $10 to the cost. $10 for a single trophy basically. Not by any means the best Resistance game, but I personally don't think it's as bad as it was made out to be when it came out.

Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#490: Let It Grow, Let It Grow, Let it Grow Like it did so long ago................ Well, I think that would have been a good song for this. The short of it is, I did it for the blue. Blue platinums are my weaknesses, and this is yet another very slick one! Still, it is a fairly decent daily farming life sort of game, though this is coming from somebody who doesn't really go for those types of games. It's easy to learn the basics and get into a Groove while knocking out the trophies along the way. There is a bit of Randomness that I didn't care for in regards to the Gnomes house, but I guess it's just one trophy after all.
Popular Post HawaiiGator
#238 - Beyond: Two Souls This game has a pretty good story but the trophy for seeing every different ending is such a pain. One can only play the final chapter and watch the end credits so many times before they start to hate a trophy hunt but by that point you just have to finish the job due to it being one of the last trophies you earn. I played the game in duo mode with my 13 year old before finishing up in solo mode for the remaining trophies and was able to get another decently rare platinum for my collection.

Popular Post PooPooBlast
#195 TEKKEN 8 Welcome to the KING OF IRON FISTER TOURNAMENT 8- PAUL PENIS Tekken will always be this game that I have fond memories of. I started with the franchise all the way back in Tekken 4 on the PS2 and have played every tekken game since then. I dabbled with a bunch of characters here and there but nobody else stuck with me the most other than the all sexy hunk of an American with the spiky blond hair, Paul pheonix. Now as for Tekken 8, I really enjoyed the game. It comes with an arcade quest mode which eases newcomers into the game. I really applaud the dev team for finally including something like this as I can imagine how daunting it must be for new players. The game also comes with arcade mode, character episode mode where you learn more about the character's backgrounds and finally the story mode. The latter follows the mainline story of the Mishima family hating each other and tossing one another over a cliff. You know.. the usual . I know a lot of people said the story was quite an upgrade over previous games but it was alright for me. Predictable/has that anime trope of BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP. Anywhoo, I think put around close to 100 hours in this game and I'm ready to move on until the next major big patch drops in. Tekken 6 was my first plat, Tekken 7 was my 100th (with about 450 hrs of gaming time). I almost made this my 200th plat but I decided that it'll be far off before I get there so I just popped it now. With that said, onto the next game which hopefully won't require my armpits to be soaking after a gaming session in online mode xD.
