April Update

Two whole games this month! It's not much, but it's better than the 0 from Feb and March. Even though the digital store is staying open, I'm still going to put more emphasis on PS3 games going forward. I've still got Dead Space 2 and Limbo to complete for other challenges, so I'm shooting for 4 PS3 games done in May. We'll see!

I made some pretty good progress in April, I got Batman: Arkham Asylum (JP) one trophy away from the platinum. All I have left is to do a predator mission and beat it with only using silent takedowns....should only take 4 or 5 minutes so that stands at 98% complete. I got one more trophy in The Bridge....not really playing that much right now, but I'll get it finished up in short order probably. That bumped up to 76% complete. I also started my Dragon Age series run and started Dragon Age: Origins last week. It's a little clunky, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit. BioWare seems to follow a bit of a formula with their titles. Having just finished up the Mass Effect series, most of the games revolve around getting companions for an impossible task and earning their loyalty via quests. There also seem to be love scenes in them all and you can play as a good guy or a complete D-bag. Makes the second playthrough stay interesting, but this almost feels like Mass Effect Dungeons and Dragons style. I'll probably finish my first playthrough this weekend. The trophy guide says you need three playthroughs, however the DLC's basically eliminate two of them so that'll cut down on how long this game will take to plat. I'll have to do a second playthrough as a female for my last Romance, but two of the trophies for reaching level 20 are basically done for you in the DLC.

Got the multiplayer taken care of for this and most of the singleplayer content. Pretty much down to a few time attack challenges for Platinum. Time attack courses have so far been the toughest part of the game for me so I imagine it's going to at least be another week or two of practice before I finally nail them.

 

Given the state of things with PS3 and Vita I'm going to be putting priority towards games on my list with multiplayer trophies. Fortunately at this point I only have three games to worry about:

• BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (PS3)
• Resident Evil 5 (PS3)
• Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Vita) 

Accidentally synced Need for Speed trophies from 2017 to my list this month when I decided to set up my Vita again and log into my account. If I knew what was about to happen I would have just wiped the Vita first (nothing on there I can't redownload). Regardless I'm pretty sure I can plat this game so it will be on my priority list along with my PS3 games now.

 

Also working on the Platinum for Tera. It's a PS4 game but I can't shake the feeling that the game might come up to the chopping block at some point, considering the game got sold off last year. Better to get it done now and not have to stress about it.

 

As for BlazBlue I picked up the $1 PSNow offer a few days ago which I noticed has Continuum Shift Extend as a playable title. Going to try to see if I can use that somehow to boost myself on the base game for my PS3. If it doesn't work out I'll just hit up some boost sessions over the weekend, no big deal.

 

Brought my PlayStation Move controllers back from the dead and charged them up to get ready for Resident Evil 5. I remember shooting games playing much more easily for me with Move controls compared to using the analog stick so it should be fun. Want to at least take care of Multiplayer but may just go for the whole thing once I get started as I do enjoy RE5.

 

Additionally, I checked the 30 playable games in my backlog and none of them seem to have trophy pages for DLC, which fortunately means I don't have to "panic buy" as much and I should be able to play those games anytime even after store closure, at least going off current information. As for whether those games have worthy DLC that enhance the game experience is another thing entirely, but at least I'm covered for the games that need them for 100% completion right now.

Split/Second ended up getting finished a lot faster than I expected. Just a few days after the post I made at the end of March. Thought I would be spending weeks on those final time trials but my skills really improved at the game by the time I got there and was able to clean up pretty quickly. Admittedly most of the month after that was spent finishing up TERA (PS4) and Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Vita). I needed those out of the way sooner rather than later due to my own concerns so that I can free my head up to get back to some PS3 games. Now that I'm back to PS3 I will be focusing solely on getting 100% on Resident Evil 5 and then 100% on BlazBlue. After that I will be sidetracking to PS4 one more time for Call of Duty as it's the final game on my profile with unearned multiplayer trophies, but after that it will be pretty much all PS3 from that point onward.

 

The scares over the store closure as well as the download patch both prompted me to download and patch my entire library of games that I intend to play. This also led me to catalogue all of my digital games as well, so I will now be adding those to the backlog. Here is the new, updated backlog.

I think I may have fallen down a rabbit hole this month. I picked up Shadows of the Damned and remembered my time playing ridiculous Suda51 games 10-15 years ago. Feels weird that so many of these are delisted.

Mass Effect 3 plat was trophy number 9000 as planned. 4 playthroughs was definitely too many, even though I did keep finding new things each time (like how did I never notice the suspicious device in the casino on the Silversun Strip until playthrough 4?). But now I'm done the entire Mass Effect trilogy, and I'm sure glad BioWare never tried making a disastrous 4th game that started their decline as a gaming company.

 

I've noticed I have not one, not two, but THREE unfinished Final Fantasy games on my profile, and since XIII-2 is the PS3 one I've decided I'm going to tackle that one for May. See you all again next month!

I completed Quantum Theory's story and got a couple of misc. trophies too but i still miss some of the harder trophies like complete chapter 8 killing all enemies but without dying yourself Story was ok, gameplay too, i heard really bad stories about this game before hand but i can't agree to all the negativeness

May Update:

A bit late but here we go.  

I'm going to wrap up Jak and Daxter next week.  That will be my second 100% for this event.  After that I'm going to focus on getting games up without absolutely platinuming/100% them.  Crysis 3 is on the agenda, but I have no interest in 100% it (not even sure I can honestly, don't know if the servers are up).  I'll be wrapping up Epic Mickey 2 (hopefully) this month as well.  Spent most of April on the PS4 and Vita, so not a ton of PS3 time.

Finished Resonance of Fate and Rock Band 2.

 

Resonance of Fate wasn't as bad as I kinda expected it to be from my slightly warped memory. The combat system takes some (or a lot) getting used to, but actually, it was okay. Not the best game I've ever played, but certainly not the worst either. Just grindy as all hell.

 

Rock Band 2 wasn't even on the list until now, simply because I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it anyway. The online is completely dead, but thankfully I found someone to boost the single online trophy with, and I also managed to get my hands on a second guitar for a few days, which was needed for another trophy, so... yeah, super happy about this one, especially since it was so unexpected!

 

Will likely be doing the two weirdly missing trophies from Skyrim next and then probably Mirror's Edge. We'll see what my sanity will have to say about those time trials...

Dragons Dogma i am currently working on and consider it to maybe use it as platinum 400. i just love the game.

nfs Hot Pursiut sadly has delisted DLC. nice to have platinum but i guess it will never reach 100%

Alice finally got platted and currently i play the DLC from time to time. 
in outland i just got the online trophy done. will see when i get into the offline stuff

Ok a late response but I wanted to make sure I had something to add.  I completed the platinum for Jak and Daxter about an hour ago, so that gives me my second 100% for the event.  Hoping to spend this summer with the PS3 only.  I'm working on TestYourself Psychology currently, and then I have no idea.

Made a bit more progress in Rune Factory.  It's been slow going because for some weird reason playing the game makes me feel sleepy so it's kind of hard to play it for very long and I also keep forgetting to even play it.  Still working on some of the miscellaneous trophies and will start trying to progress the story again soon.

Dragon Age II finished! Woot!

Dragon Age II

 

I had a lot of fun with this game, just as much as the first game, although it's a bit different.

Spoiler

The story is not as epic as in the first one, instead of fighting the great evil darkspawn (they're still somewhat present), the fight's between mages and templars.

There's a completely new main character but some of the companions from the previous game show up in this one even if for a small cameo.

The new companions are definitely more interesting. Who doesn't love Varric?

The game performs a lot better, but the loading times are still terrible and the maps get reused.

I guess now I have to get DA: Inquisition... on PS4 (don't want to add to my PS3 list)

 

 

 

In other news: I bought some DLCs for my PS3 games. I got the online trophy for NFS Shift (DLC) which will be my 210th . I have to squeeze in one more game before that. I was thinking something shorter so maybe LEGO Marver Super Heroes. But first... I got some unfinished business on PS4, I'll return to my PS3 list before the end of the month.

Update #5 (March - April update)

 

I didn't get much progress in March or in April. Just advanced a little more on Heavy Rain (17%) and a bit more on Minecraft (61% but still no plat). Also bought a few more games because of the store closure, these are: Dead Space, Bayonetta and the Season Pass for Call of Duty: Ghosts. Decided to add a game I own to the list, at first I didn't wanted to add it as I wasn't going for the 100% for that game, but the store closure announcement and it being my favorite COD of all time I decided to do it (even though I haven't bought the DLCs just yet.)

 

Just now, I got the platinum for Sound Shapes on the PS3 and will continue with the grind on my started game, gonna go between PS4 and PS3 from now on. Also, saw someone do a spreadsheet to mantain their list more in order, and decided to do one for my games. Here it is:

Completed the King Washington story, and Revelations' Lost Archive and partial playthrough to get The Mentor and Lightning Strikes.
Now I'm done with all Assassin's Creed games on PS3!

This afternoon I can pick up BioShock 1 and 2 at my local friendly game shop and start the online grind (and DLC).
Lastly I will also pick up Brutal Legend for the viral trophy "Six Degrees of Schafer" and start the online matches for this game. Haven't checked the availability of the DLC yet. Google-fu says it appears to be gone or named different than "Hammer of Infinite Fate".

Thank you! I hope you do, if you can look past the difficulty of the later levels it’s a really fun platformer! I have just bought Spec Ops so hopefully will get around to starting it soon, I’m looking forward to it!

Great game from 2008.,you can still find full lobbies with 24 players. No point in boosting 10 002 kills,they are fun to get by normal play.
