There’s still a couple weeks left in 2020, so I imagine I’ll be able to squeeze in a couple more before the new year. Overall it was a very productive year for gaming and trophy hunting, and a pretty shit year for just about everything else. Yay for the pandemic! ?

With all the free time I've had this year, I've focused more on just wittiling down my backlog rather than getting plats. There's been a few games this year I nearly got the plat for or considered getting the plat for, but ended up giving up either because I felt like I was wasting my time, or I just had really bad RNG and it de-motivated me. For example, I nearly got the plat for Dreams but didn't want to bother continuing to play something I felt I had run my course in. I may return to it eventually, but I don't have much interest in creating levels myself and a lot of the user created stuff was either getting boring/samey or was just memes. An RNG example would be Lost Dimension, where I got someone as the traitor again right on the first floor on NG+, and didn't wanna bother to have to play the game any more than twice.

 

As far as games completed this year, I've managed to finish 142 games so far (will likely finish 2-3 more before this month is over), more than I've ever completed before in any year, I think. I was originally aiming to finish 50 this year before the pandemic hit. I have also dropped a few games this year, not too many though, about 5 or so, and have also replayed 3 games which I don't include in my total.

 

My goal for 2021 is to try and finish my PS3 backlog if I can (not including the digital PS1/PS2 games I have for it), and perhaps also my Wii U backlog. Definitely won't really be focusing on plats again, I haven't been too into trophy hunting in recent years, I feel like I've wasted too much time getting the plats for games I wasn't having much fun with after a while in the past, and I still kinda hate myself for not focusing more on my games that don't have trophies (e.g. older Playstation games, Nintendo and Xbox games) in the past, because I've been holding off on some great games for far too long solely because they didn't have trophies to entice me to play sooner. Also my backlog is just too big for me to care about 100%ing/platinuming games any more unless I'm really really enjoying them and want to squeeze out all the content I can out of them. Would much rather just move onto a new game once I've finished one nowadays, but there are some exceptions.
