Popular Post ziggypossum Posted February 11, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted February 11, 2022 (edited) Modern Warfare 2 officially confirmed, built on brand-new engine Infinity Ward have confirmed that the 2022 entry into the Call of Duty series will be Modern Warfare 2, and revealed that a “new Warzone experience” is also being built alongside it. Rumors have circulated for months that 2022’s CoD game would be a sequel to the ultra-successful Modern Warfare, which was released back in 2019. On top of that, reports claimed that Warzone 2 would also launch to address the issues that integrating standalone CoD titles to the battle royale had caused. Finally, this news has been confirmed by the developers themselves, with Infinity Ward Co-Studio Head Pat Kelly dropping the information during a call with the press, content creators, and Raven Software developers. Call of Duty is officially heading back to the present day, with Modern Warfare 2 finally confirmed after huge speculation. Kelly stated “it should be obvious” that they’re working on the game after the huge success of 2019’s Modern Warfare, which has sold over 30 million copies. The game will be built on a brand-new engine, which the company has “been working on for years,” as Infinity Ward looks to improve players’ experience on all platforms. Kelly didn’t give an exact release date for Modern Warfare 2 but did state that the game would release in Fall 2022. “New Warzone experience” built on new MW2 engine That new Modern Warfare 2 engine won’t just power that game, but will also act as the foundation of a “new Warzone experience.” The next iteration of Warzone is being built from the ground up alongside MW2, which will allow the games to work together seamlessly after years of issues and messy integration with other titles. Kelly claims the new Warzone experience will be “disruptive” and a “massive evolution of Battle Royale.” On top of that, the Infinity Ward Creative Director teased that it will feature an “incredibly ambitious sandbox mode,” although they declined to elaborate any further on this. Neither Infinity Ward nor Raven Software gave any indication of a release date for the new Warzone experience. Considering it is built on Modern Warfare 2’s engine, it’s likely we will see it at some point during MW2’s lifecycle. While Infinity Ward and Raven Software are looking forward to new releases, that doesn’t mean they’re ignoring the present. Not gonna deny the single player was great in that game, but most people don't buy CoD games for the campaign, they buy it for the MP aspect (or zombies in some cases). I've played every single CoD game that released on consoles since Call of Duty 3, and the MP was always the one thing that kept me playing the games. But I haven't enjoyed a CoD MP since Black Ops 2 and then MW original remastered. Now it's just rushed unfinished crap, they will keep doing it and not caring because fools keep buying it. MatThaRiPP3R84 Posted February 12, 2022 Share Posted February 12, 2022 It's chucklevision, don't expect much from their games anymore, they scrambled to get well over a thousand q&a testers to assist in fixing the bugs for warzone, promised them all sorts and fired them all right before their bonus. I highly doubt anyone is hot at the prospect of working there under those conditions so the games are going to be fucked for a whole lot longer, and since EA set the bar for competition so low with 2042 there's no real threat there. Not just that, but they said that it'll continue to come to PS. I'm looking forward to this. Loved the SP, the MP.....only way I'll play it is if they keep the Shipment and Shoot House playlists. BUT, if they can give us better, smaller maps, I'm all for it! But those who enjoy Warzone, I hope this one's much better to y'all!!
