Popular Post neospoon
#169 - Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Bad Company Elite Obtain all Campaign and Online trophies Campaign was pretty good, multiplayer is pretty much dead which means it was a lot of hours boosting and grinding. I still need to finish some of the DLC to get it up to 100% but for now I’ll take a well deserved break from this. Popular Post Zach
#134 Far Cry: New Dawn Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty:3.5/10 Time: 15-17hrs It's sad to say this, but..... This game is actually a lot better than Far Cry 5 in my opinion. Too many spoilers for 5 to explain anything in New Dawn, so I'll keep this brief. The final two missions are decent fun as they are back to back boss battles. The environment in this game is super unique and beautiful (compared to previous Far Cry games) and the main and side missions are actually pretty damn fun compared to 5's missions. There are no bullshit resistance points to obtain just to progress the story in this game. I REALLY hated that in 5. Nothing and I mean NOTHING should have to be grinded out to play the damn story. /rant over. Sorry haha. Anyways, New Dawn is a solid game, even though it's really short.
StilRh
Plat #149. Graveyard Keeper. Fun 7/10 Time: 50-60 hours (not optimal play to begin with). Really enjoyed this one, quite grindy but very addictive gameplay loop. If you get the zombies DLC (you get helpers gathering for you) it cuts down on some elements but I got it towards the end of the game so I can't say I found it helpful. Some quirky systems I didn't like such as crafting items of various qualities or when you use an additional tool (chisel/ink and quill) having a slow clunky interface but that aside it was a good experience.

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #179 Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power Icing the Cake Earn all Trophies in Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power I was really apprehensive of trying this, so I hadn't. But I finally finished the story of Trine 2 (not to get into it a lot, but for some reason I just don't enjoy 2 as much as 1. Feel like it's too puzzle-y and doesn't support more creative solutions like the first game did... back to this) so figured since this plat was easier than 2, I'd give it a go. I knew it was short and lacking in content, and it is sadly. I hadn't really heard any real positives about the game either so that's why I wasn't too keen on getting to it (that and having never finished 2 before). I have such mixed feelings. When I started with Pontius [Knight], I loved it. The core 3D platforming and basic action is great, and I was in high spirits. Then I got to Amadeus [Wizard] and started to see the problem with the game. Then Zoya [Archer/'Treasure Hunter']. I think Amadeus is the worst in translation to 3D. Then as things went forward, pretty much everything that makes the game "Trine" is bad. The physics based puzzles, the grappling with Zoya, the magic of Amadeus. And it's missing so much that makes Trine as well, and that could have actually made the transition to 3D well yet didn't. Like, relics/treasure chests, experience and upgrade trees, planks.. Pontius' shield would randomly get stuck and you couldn't wall jump [a nice addition to the platforming imo], do his kite shield/glide or attack. He doesn't have his hammer at all, so he can't break things himself which is stupid and annoying. Zoya can only grapple specific hooks, rather than anything wood. Which sucks and limits your freedom when it would've been even cooler if you could still zoom around with her and they way they changed her grapple controls really sucks too. I never got the hang of it. Early on I was dying constantly because I was trying to go up and down with... up and down. But this is a 3D game. They use the right stick instead, which I just didn't feel was the greatest. They added mechanics where she can pull boxes/platforms with her grapple and at times you have to wrap it around a pole or something then attach it back to the same (or another) hook. Which causes the physics to spaz out at times, or the hook just won't attach itself to your rope for whatever reason. Oh Amadeus... the worst of the bunch, trying to kill enemies with boxes is a nightmare in this game. You have to hold R2 to move forward and back in 3D space. You can move while carrying boxes, which I actually did like. But it was just more annoying thanks to needing to hold a button to properly move it around. You can only create a single box, you don't even get to pick the size or draw it. It just pops out of thin air. You can slam it to the ground, which I think is a great addition but it's hard to aim in this game. Hopefully Trine 4 keeps that. You also can't destroy the box yourself, and the way you grab things with magic is really cumbersome. It randomly picks something. Sometimes things much further away [which reminds me that Zoya's grapple does this as well.] And despite there being no need for magnetism upgrades (since there's none and you can only use one box) they unintentionally have something similar in this. My boxes (and other moveable objects) would constantly get stuck on things. And every time you pick something up it zooms above Amadeus' head for some stupid reason which creates even more problems and headaches. He's bordering on unplayable. One great new thing is the chapter select, while I'm not the biggest fan of the little "board game" looking chapter select you have to run around; those types of things are always neat on paper, but annoying in the long run. A menu is always easier to navigate. But, they added sub-chapters in every chapter, so you can go to a specific section where you need the collectables and get them and then leave. Rather than have to run through the entire level not knowing where to even look for them it even tracks them by sub-chapter. That's always a nice thing. The visuals maintain their stunning, colorful beauty despite adding the 3D. Though at times, particularly later on, the game feels like it could have been done in 2D anyway. At times the 3D isn't utilized much at all. I read a random comment, that I didn't verify if true, but I saw the devs started to run out of money in development and that could explain it. Makes sense. I love the new lore additions and the story and voice acting are up to par with Trine standards. It just kind of ends before being resolved which is a bummer. I feel like if they instead of making this a Trine game, made it it's own thing it would be amazing. There's something to this, because I really love the base design of the game. The 3D platforming, visuals, it's just the Trine stuff that gets in the way. If it was a platforming action game with some kind of melee attacker then it would be really awesome. I wouldn't mind limited grappling in a new IP, but for Trine it's a step down from before. I still enjoyed my time with the game despite it's problems. Looking forward to see what they bring over to Trine 4 (hopefully the chapter select having the sub-chapters comes back!)

Popular Post Conor
#33- ASSASSIN'S CREED III (PS3) Master Assassin Enjoyment: 6/10 (Story & Gameplay), 2/10 (Platinum) Difficulty: 5/10 Time Taken: 1 month, 1 week, 6 days, 15 hours, 27 minutes (45 Hours in-game) Rarity: 0.6% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 5.56% Very Rare (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Completionist (Silver) - Complete ALL progress tracker grid entries "Beware of the easy path; knowledge grows only through challenge..." If ever a game came close to killing my love for the medium, it was this one. Although I didn't enjoy Assassin's Creed II on my recent playthrough as much as I did in the past, I still had an affinity for and interest in the series going forward, but this almost brought that to a literal grinding halt. And I'm not talking about the multiplayer component, amazingly. Assassin's Creed III follows the Mohawk assassin Ratonhaké:ton AKA "Connor" (spelled wrong, of course- there should only be one 'N'!) as he unravels an insidious Templar plot in the backdrop of the American Revolutionary War. Although I loved the setting, the story of this game was a complete mess. The beginning is slow but once you take control of Connor, the pacing is so rushed and messy it gives the last two seasons of Game of Thrones a run for its money. Historical figures and characters are introduced suddenly then dropped just as quickly before their presence is really even justified or never reach their full potential- Benjamin Franklin, for instance, is introduced early on as a very interesting and peculiar character but ultimately plays an extremely minor role. Marquis de Lafayette just bumbles along then disappears very quickly with neither proper introduction nor send-off. The death of a very important (and, arguably the best) character is also relegated to a side-mission that the player may never even see due to the struggle to get there. And as for Connor himself- he is boring as all hell. The character the player controls in the opening segments is a far more interesting and charming dude, as evidenced further by his later appearances in the game which bring about some of the best moments, but Connor himself is a major step down from Ezio. Thematically, the game is quite interesting- the way the Revolution and Connor's involvement in it was actually handled quite well and not as one-sided as advertisements would lead us to believe, and the father and son element is also very good albeit not properly explored- though the execution doesn't quite live up to it overall. And the ending was utter crap. This is the kind of shite that happens when you rush development, and sadly it seems that Ubisoft didn't learn this lesson for a few years to come. Then there is the gameplay itself. Not the worst aspect, granted, and there are some welcome features such as fast travel, streamlined running and climbing controls and a decent variety of weapons. For some reason though, I found both the navigation and combat to be less enjoyable than the previous main entry, though I cannot really put my finger in it. Some really crappy parts that jump out at me are the way that conflict in a city is damn hard to get out of, and notoriety is a lot trickier to get rid of too. I suppose the point of this was to increase the challenge but I think they took it a little too far in some places. Also, the game is bloated by tedious side activities which don't really have much in the way of consequence or reward. In fact, the only worthwhile side quests are really the Peg Leg missions, as the reward you get makes combat and escaping easier. And don't get me started on that damn Encylopedia of the Common Man and those minigames on the Homestead... sheer bonkers how the devs thought this shite would be enjoyable- not even ashamed to admit that I used an AI on my laptop to help me out with the Fanorona game. The stuff I had to do seemed neverending and not in a good way. When I finally actually completed everything, I didn't feel accomplished or fulfilled at all. Anyway, it's over for now, won't be looking at this again until I get around to the Remastered version, which had better have some fixes to some of my complaints to ease the frustration. I feel very let down because I was really looking forward to finally getting into this. Multiplayer? Oh, right, well, the Wolfpack mode is actually pretty cool since it can be a solo mode to gain XP without interference from other players. And thankfully the requirements are far less of a grind than with Brotherhood and Revelations, which I ultimately decided to skip because I just don't think I'd have the patience to grind those out- I'll get to their solo-only Remastered versions later down the line. In all, can't say I had a good time with this one, really and I'm not in the least bit surprised that this plat is so rare. I'm hoping Black Flag is much better than this, I've heard a lot of good things but we'll see. Anyway, I did say that this was going to be a long one, so it's time to wash the sour taste out with some shorter plats. Lance_87
#20: Need for Speed Payback - The Ultimate Payback Ok, this is my 20th Platinum, and my 10th PS4 game that i've ever finished (not necessarily with a Platinum, i didn't get them on Crash 1 and 2 yet, nor the 100% in DOOM and NFS 2015), another easy one, not much grinding, there are a lot of collectibles, i was scared about microtransactions/lootboxes making progress problematic, but apparently, they're only for stuff you probably won't worry about for the rest of the game (seriously, HORNS?), and that can be obtained by doing in-game tasks anyway.
Popular Post RusticSamurai
#113 Grand Theft Auto IV Taking A Liberty I bought this game in 2013. At the time, i didn't care that much about trophies and i had other games to play, so i didn't start it right at that moment. A few months later, i decided to get the plats of the games i had started on my profile. And then i set the goal to plat every game i start on it. That's when i started to dive into the backlog. I saw GTA IV, the guides said it had a difficulty of 9 or 10 out of 10, so i said "well, seems like i will play on another account". I kept playing other games, bought a few more, the PS Plus backlog started to grow and GTA IV was left behind without even touching it. However, in recent months i started to clean up the backlog. I started with the games i had bought. I did them all but then i saw GTA IV. "Is the MP still working?" i asked myself. I checked the excellent guide by ProfBamBam and it did give me hope. But my attention was required in other things besides gaming, so i didn't have the time to be scheduling boosting sessions. This year, my free time has increased, so i checked the guide again and said "let's do it". Going back to a game this old, i was surprised the way it looked: really fuzzy. I expected performance issues, not that. I learned that the initial multiplat games available on ps3 had a hard time with development, so they didn't look, or perform, very well. A few hours and messing with the settings helped me get used to it and i joined a boosting session here on the site. I had borrowed a console from a friend a few months back, so i had the means to boost plenty of things by myself. I got the MP trophies out of the way in a week. Then i left the game resting there, while i got the plats on some PS Plus games before the membership expired, because i didn't plan to renew it. On july, i came back and started the story. I had played almost every GTA (3d universe) when i was a teenager, so while i enjoyed them, the story wasn't that memorable to me. GTA V came out recently and i was older, so that's the exception. With GTA IV, however, i enjoyed the story a lot and i really liked Niko as a protagonist. I don't know if i appreciated it more because of my age or if it is really that good. I had a blast doing the story and i went full focus on the road to 100%. I finished that in aproximately 8 days. What a ride. I'm both proud and relieved to have done this and i really should have started before. Edited July 22, 2019 by Samael39 Grammar.

Popular Post Appappachai
Platinum# 57 Stories: The Path of Destinies Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 5/10 Rarity: 14.60% Not a terrible game, but the grind is real and repetitive is too inadequate a word. The game would have benefited from more than one voice actor but budgets gotta budget I guess. Unless they were so committed to the storybook aesthetic that the narrator absolutely had to read the voices like a books on cd from the 90s. Also wished the dpad corresponded to each sword. Four directions and Four swords would have been perfect. All in all it was a decent game and I'm glad to have it off my list. Would play a sequel. Popular Post madbuk
#324 - LEGO Jurassic World Another LEGO game down. This one was chosen as part of a backlog event, I had originally planned on doing Incredibles as my next LEGO game, but this one was fun instead. It's definitely one of the better Vita ones - there are no timed challenges, no character specific challenges, no multi-challenges. There's also a jump button and platforming instead of it being entirely automated like some of the other Vita ones (Hobbit, Movie, Marvel 1.) You also don't need to finish a level to keep all your collectibles which was nice. Made clean up go by very quickly. I had absolutely no idea what was going on in this game plot wise, though. There's voice acting, and 9 levels per movie, but even with 9 levels each it feels pretty rushed and poorly explained, but that's not a big deal. I wasn't particularly interested in the story anyway.

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #281: Difficulty: 4/10 Playtime: 6-7 hours Enjoyment: 2/10 I hated this game like nothing I've played since my last irredeemably negative game experience, namely Ether One. This was a broken, clunky, confusing, and fully unenjoyable mess from start to finish. Every time I felt like maybe I was starting to get somewhere, it pulled out the rug from under me just like that. You know the type. I swore bloody and justified vengeance upon the developers and their families at least eleven times per miserable, frustrating hour. I spent almost an hour trying to get into the anal sphincter of a giant rock fish (trust me, it makes sense in context) because I randomly got killed while inside it due to how hard it is to avoid crashing into walls with terrible controls when you're inside a goddamn giant fisj in motion. Getting killed somehow made it impossible to get back inside without restarting the game, and even after I figured out the latter part, there was still the matter of not dying again. The levels were impossible to memorize, your next goal usually opaque and indiscernible, and the game constantly had to stop to engage in unskippable cutscenes showing you what would be bloody obvious if its internal "logic," for lack of a better term, weren't so hellishly inscrutable. The second the platinum popped after hours of suffering, I quit, even in the middle of whatever uninteresting denouement were to follow. In a world in which this game was developed by people with actual talent, it might have at least aspired to forgettable mediocrity, but alas. These useless jokers should turn in their developers' licenses and change their line of work to something more in concordance with their perceived skill level, like cleaning toilet seats with their tongues or something. /rant
Popular Post ZitMeatloaf
#27 - Borderlands 2 "Borderland Defender Round Two" This one took me a little while, so it's a good thing I enjoyed playing it. I was bit by the "Well crap, I bought The Handsome Collection one month before it was given away on +" bug with this one, but since I picked it up on sale for $15 and got two months of enjoyment from just one of the two games (haven't played the Pre-Sequel yet), I can't really complain too much. The most annoying trophy for me was "Challenge Accepted" and those frickin' 750 close-range shotgun kills. After the main campaign I only had like 150 of them (the shotgun isn't one of my favorite weapons in the game). But all-in-all, a great time.
