Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #62 - Senran Kagura Estival Versus (Vita) How I Spent My Summer Vacation - Obtained all trophies. 15,059 Owners - 4,977 Achievers for a percentage of 33.05% (average completion; 53.71%) Enjoyment; 8/10 Difficulty; 2/10 Trophies; 8/10 (Terrific names, terrific tiles - but recycled from artwork rather than bespoke hence -2) Appetite for more beeg shinobi diddies; 10/10 Full review in my Trophy checklist. Having played Shinovi Versus and Bon Appetit, I was no stranger to the series or the style of gameplay, but the manner in which I went about nabbing this Platinum was new to me; setting my alarm clock early in the morning on more than a few occasions to nab Trophies when I should have been sleeping. Why? I had gotten annoyed by the 'Trophies by time' table on my stat page showing, well, the fact that I had never earned a single Trophy in the wee hours of the day in my timezones (before the end of 2019 that was GMT+1, since the end of 2019 it's GMT+0). I quickly realized that by doing four missions in each of the Shinobi Girl's Heart mini-campaigns (24 in all), I could then do the fifth missions in quick succession as the completion of those is what pops their respective bronze Trophies. With that knowledge in hand, I started planning and setting alarms; before long, the bars for 2 AM and 3 AM were finally visible (six Trophies for each, the minimum number to appear), and this morning I finally had the opportunity to fill up 4 AM and 5 AM. I made it harder for myself than I should have; I put my alarm at 4:22 AM thinking it'd give me enough time to pop six of the Trophies, but in the end I had 7 seconds to spare. Seriously! Imu's Trophy (Top-Heavyweight Champion) popped at 4:59:53 AM! Imu was my sixth Trophy, so if she hadn't popped in time, I would have had to quit out redraw my plan, and pop a single Trophy tomorrow morning (obviously something I'd rather not do, waking up so early for a few digital trinkets isn't all that fun). Clean up of the remaining Trophies was remarkably easier, and really, it was only my obsession with stats that turned this Platinum journey from a quick, light-hearted, easy romp into something way more exhilarating; this did make it much more memorable though, not a Platinum I will soon forget. The game's main story, the Kagura Millenium Festival, is divided into eight days with one Silver attached to each plus a single bronze for starting the mode up for the first time. Additionally, each of the 25 playable female shinobi have their own mini-campaign called Shinobi Girl's Heart, which is a series of five mini levels with a rudimentary narrative attached; you can tackle the girls in any order you like as progress is saved after each of the five levels - this is what allowed me to pop easy bronzes in the wee hours of the morning. The game itself is an improvement over the previus mainline game Shinovi Versus, although the levels and assets in Estival Versus are recycled quite a bit. Still, having 25 playable girls, each more lovable than the next (except Miyai and Murakumo, what were they thinking with those two?) with their own unique movesets, is a real treat and you can tell that the developers truly loved this series. The passion oozes out of everything; sure, the budget was so small that you do notice the rough edges, but this is more than made up for in just how much this game shines as a labour of love. It is definitely worth trying out if you have a PS4 and/or Vita and features crossplay; finish the game on one platform and you can pop the other's list with very little effort. I for one can't wait to move on to Peach Beach Splash and Burst RE:Newal once I get a PS5/PS4 (dependent on backwards compatibility), but for now I will pester the OP of the series' Platinum Project to bump my tally of two Plats up to three. It might not be the hardest series (in fact, with a little bit of grinding you can remove every single hint of challenge from the mainline games), but I am proud of it, dammit! And don't forget, Yozakura is bae. Edited June 26, 2020 by Golem25
SereneSilent
#31 Minecraft A game where you Mine and Craft. There isn't much to say about this game other than you Mine and Craft. Well in case some people don't know what this game is about.... This game is best described as a sandbox game. You enter the world of Minecraft, a world where everything is a block/cube and you honestly have no real goal for this game, apart from getting the platinum that is and only if you want. You can do anything in this in terms of building, hunting mobs, exploring and destroying if you wish. Everytime you make a world for you to play in the game will always generate a random world and you will spawn in to a new place each and everytime. Every world has a seed (A code) so if you want to make platinum hunting a bit easier you can look up specific seeds online to help you. In the world of Minecraft you can find different biomes such as Jungles, forests, deserts, mountains, plains and more. You can even make a portal to go to the Nether which is the equivalent of Hell. In the nether you find new mobs, new danger and new materials to use for... well whatever you want. There are, if I'm correct, two bosses to fight. Both require work and preparation to fight them but one is the "Final Boss" of the game and the other is a secret boss that is not mandatory to fight. Totally option if you want. Like I said there's not much to say about this game other than try it for yourself. I've seen many people on YouTube do many different things on Minecraft. I've seen people build beautiful buildings/ structures from scratch, many adventuring deep in the world of Minecraft and overall playing with others online. Especially with the new Nether Update, people are exploring the Nether to find the new biomes, mobs and materials. I have not done that yet but I will, one day. Let's say you beat the game, now what? Well you can start a new world to get a new seed and get a new experience or you can continue from your original world you started in because the game keeps getting updates to keep it fresh. You can even put the game aside and come back to it later because the controls are simple and easy to learn or remember. Please Mojang... Please give us PlayStation players the ability to make realms and join servers. That's the only thing I'll beg for... please. Difficulty: 5/10 (I played on Hard and enjoyed the experience) Enjoyment: 10/10 ( It's a relaxing game to play when I have no other games to play or stressed out playing other games)
Popular Post SlimSanta94
Crypt Of The Necrodancer Enjoyment - 10/10 Difficulty - 10/10 I could write for days about how this was and always will be the hardest game i've ever beaten, but i'll save that for a nice section in my trophy checklist. All I will say is, don't let this game's difficulty scare you into not playing it. You'd be missing out on what is an incredibly fun, addicting game that I would personally recommend to everyone. This game pushed me in ways a game has never pushed me before but at the same time I enjoyed every second of it.
Popular Post Darghel
#74 The Surge (The Surge...yes that's the platinum's name) Difficulty: Frustrating. Time to Complete: 30+ hours Recommended: I would say no but the trophies aren't hard. Total Score: 5/10 I remember getting this through psn plus and hearing only that this was a soul's like and that's it: back then I didn't really play any soul's game before so I had no idea what to expect, except a tough game and I remember quitting once reaching the biolab area, the third one. I had no idea how long the game was and now that I finished it I'm surprised that this game is much shorter than I thought. I know Souls game isn't supposed to be long but I could finish this one in about 25 hours the first time! So yes, the 30+ hours up there, that's basically my second playthrough! Anyway, I really wished I liked this game to the fullest but I really didn't and for 3 reasons: - Combat is super floaty, meaning that your attacks don't have a good punch in them and the animations take too long for what's essentially a normal attack - Too many animations for each attack means you'll be stuck in animation lock practically every time, leaving you open for attacks and unable to dodge when needed - ...it wouldn't be so bad if the enemies actually have no animations delay and are practically quicker than you (and some enemies lack a proper telegraphed animation for you to dodge: P.A.X. kicks is an example, they're instant and cannot be dodged in time) These 3 issues made the game a LOT harder, but for the wrong reasons: I essentially played brutally offensive and tried to stunlock them, or be very safe and play hit and run tactics, because this is a souls game and enemies can 2-3 shot you (I had MK VII Gorgon armor while I was doing Black Cerberus boss, he 2 shot me every time with nearly 500-600 hp). But beyond all this, I did enjoy some aspects of the game: I really liked the banking of scraps which allowed you to explore freely without having to use the points, I liked the crafting and upgrading mechanics, I loved the limb targeting system and I really enjoyed some parts of the game (The board was probably the best area, it was very varied). But for the rest, I can only say more flaws like how the areas are very bland, it's really hard to remember the area due to the multitude of tunnels, characters and story are forgettable, most weapons aren't great (stats wise), leveling itself is useless (you get hp from the implants, levels only allow you to use more, and you're very limited at the beginning) and so on. I seriously don't recommend this game, unless it's dirt cheap, because it's really annoying to play and the fun moments weren't as many as the unfunny ones. It's not a bad game but there's much, MUCH better around to play than this game (heck I heard the second game is even better!) I can say that the trophies are fairly easy at least!
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #517: Star Wars Jedi - Fallen Order Difficulty: 3/10 Playtime: 25-30 hours Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Whew, the '10s sure took its time in delivering a truly great Star Wars experience, huh? Yep, this is as good a Star Wars game as I've played since, what, the LEGO Complete Saga? Respawn's track record of making stuff almost seemingly designed by a committee not to interest me at all didn't instill me with much hope, but damn... way to show Disney how it's done. Respawn's greatest triumph lies in inundating their solid grasp on the deceptively simple 'Wars formula with just enough originality so as to keep things fresh. It's the same good old story about good vs. evil, betrayal and redemption, and bless 'em for it. Our seemingly prerequisite motley crew of resistance fighters have just as much depth as they need to be worth rooting for, while still residing within the ultimately idealistic narrative tone to which all SW works should seek to aspire (Chris Avellone, take notes). The story beats are familiar but in a good way. It's Star Wars through and through, able to stand on its own legs as part of the greater mythos... which makes the admirably restrained focus on fanservice all the more effective when it's let off the leash now and again! We're talking genuine goosebumps here, bro... it's also a lot more in keeping with my more nuanced view of the Jedi and their inevitable self-made ruination, but that's neither here nor there. As a game, it's largely enjoyable, with a few largely negligible niggles here and there. Built around a kind of Diet Dark Souls / Uncharted third-person framework, it rewards good play but doesn't necessarily punish you that much for failing. More punishing is the at times undependable platforming that comes across as severely dated at times... just as well reloading is instantaneous in 99% of cases, because no matter your skill level, you'll wind up at the bottom of more holes than could conceivably fill the Albert Hall. New skills are few and far between, but really change and enhance the Space Samurai shenanigans both within battle and without once you unlock them. The trophy hunt is a fun and worthwhile endeavour... its primary focus lies on exploring and defeating enemies in specific ways, but there is still the odd wacky requirement like kicking Space Goats (very cathartic for a Broken Sword devotee such as I) and recruiting a cute little Space Groundhog Fox for your ship. The game is pretty accommodating when it comes to assisting you in your hefty collectathon, but there is still the occasional wall banger that you'll probably have to look up a video for, because let me tell you, trying to find my way with descriptions and screenshots alone left me wanting more often than not. All told, Fallen Order is a cracking time more often than not, and is a must for 'Wars fans... and I must say, it seems a good entry point even for the uninitiated, because it's just a damn enjoyable, well presented (if sometimes poorly optimized, from a technical perspective) action adventure game from top to bottom. It was certainly good enough to get some big ups from this largely lapsed lad, for whatever that's worth.

Popular Post Zach
#168 Mafia II: Definitive Edition Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time: 19hrs 25 minutes Mafia II was one of my favorite games on the PS3. It was definitely a 10/10 for me back then. On the PS4, it's still a great game, but unfortunately it's insanely buggy. Even with Patch 1.02, it still has many problems. Even after this patch, my game still froze, there was weird facial glitches, and sometimes when driving around the city, the buildings would randomly "static". Is the game playable? Yes. But the fact they released a port with so many problems, and charged $30 for this lazy ass port? Insulting. With the complaints out of the way.... Mafia II at its core is an amazing game. Great story, guns are great, gameplay is fun, and the characters are memorable. Without the insane amount of bugs, it's near perfect in my opinion. Popular Post RoastedPeanut
#73 - Nioh 2 Enjoyment - 9/10 Difficulty - 7/10 Loved it! I was a huge fan of the first game so naturally I was going to grab thia day one. If it wasn't for Final Fantasy 7 Remake and a few distractions in between, I would have had the platinum sooner. While not being terribly different from the first game, I found the additions to combat to be pretty fun once you get a handle of the new moves and abilities. It was a bit of a challenge, but honestly I think the first game was harder overall. I remembered the issues I had with the two main 2vs1 side missions in the first game, but this one didn't really have anything like that. There were a couple of multi boss encounters, but the side mission only seemed to spawn the second boss when the first was around 50% hp and the main story mission involving the same two bosses, well I saw the health bar pop up while I was in the process of melting the first, so it wasn't a true 2vs1 fight. I haven't dived too much into NG+ yet, but with the first DLC coming at the end of July, I'll most likely get into it a bit before the release

Popular Post PooPooBlast
Edit: Spoiler tags don't always work for some reason. Click on the previous page and then click back to this page. This seems to fix it. #140 Yakuza Dead Souls #Best Souls game, #Best Yakuza game! 69 hours (not a joke ) and 18,743 zombies were killed in the process of obtaining the plat. "Kiryu never killed anyone" my butt! Game starts off with you learning the news that Haruka got kidnapped (SURPRISE!!!! I think I'd be more surprised if Haruka doesn't get kidnapped in a Yakuza game ). You come back to Kamurocho to bring her back but discover that it's ravaged by zombies. Hold on, Zombies?!! Yea zombies in a yakuza game. If that's not weird enough, the game also brings back Goda and decides to chuck everything off into the trash from what happened in Yakuza 2 . I also know the game is not really cannon and doesnt take itself too seriously so hey Im not complaining. Regarding the controls, I'll admit it was really weird at first not engaging in the brawler combat that we're used to. And then on top, you have the weirdest control scheme I've probably played before although I got used to it. For instance, you aim with and you shoot with . You strafe while holding (which used to be in previous games) and it's pretty much useless because the camera goes all crazy. And finally, when you aim down the sight with , you use the Left stick to move the camera! Wicked! Story-wise, it's probably the weakest of the yakuza games but it was still enjoyable, especially the finale with the really dope soundtrack. I think what made Yakuza dead souls an enjoyable experience was that the story never took itself too seriously such as finding the origin of the virus for instance! Spoiler It's a freaking bacteria from Africa , DA FAQ?! The 4 playable characters were also lots of fun to play as. I think the highlight for me was Majima and Ryuji. I think I loved Ryuji the most just because he's arguably my favourite antagonist of the entire Yakuza series and his VA just hits the spot for me. Finally, regarding minigames, they're directly copy and pasted from Yakuza 4 so I won't really talk about them but in short, if you liked Yakuza 4's minigames which I did, then you'd feel right at home Overall, the highlight of the game were the following: - Teaming up with Ryuji and Majima! - Majima's Get to the Top Karaoke version (see for yourself ) Spoiler - Some weird Substories like Daigo being in drag and going out with Majima to lure the zombies - Some cool bossfights especially Ryuji's bossfight without spoiling it. - Really great hostess interactions. I didnt really like Yakuza 3's and 4's hostesses that much but I felt here that they were a lot better and varied. Not to mention, you get to see a little bit more of Ryuji and Majima and how they behave around women (which can get pervy at times ) - Karaoke. I know I mentioned it already with Majima but it's also worth mentioning that the other characters were great singers as well and once again, I was fangirling over Goda and his Kamurocho Pure Love Song - The Soundtrack! Ah yes the soundtrack. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to share a couple of cool tracks from the game so grab a pair of headphones and enjoy! ? Spoiler I wasn't sure when this exactly plays but my god is it awesome. The trumpet is freaking amazing, especially 1:51 This is a shorty and it plays in the opening cinematic when you boot up the game. It's a mini remix of the first track. Both this one and the one above have a hint of For Faith from Yakuza 4 so what's not to like? This one is Akiyama's fight theme. That solo at 3:31 hits the spot for me. My second favourite fight theme after Kiryu's This one plays in the Jewel Hostess club. It sounds an awful lot like something Britney Spears would sing Plays against one of the prototype zombies (mini bosses). Plays against Ryuji's bossfight, phase 2 in the game. Got me all amped up! Played in one of the substories/chase segments of the game. One of my favourites from the entire playlist! Kiryu's battle theme! My favourite of the battle themes As a former band trumpet player, that trumpet is life! Plays in one of the chase segments in the game. Plays in the finale long battle section. Dope as fudge! Probably my favourite track of the entire playlist. Final bossfight theme. Again very dope Phase 2 of final bossfight theme! And with that, I bid thee farewell Yakuza Dead Souls. You were a fun game, albeit a weird Yakuza game. Edited June 27, 2020 by PooPooBlast
