Rias Gremory
Platinum #138 Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden Common: 78.54% Difficulty: 1/10. Enjoyment: 7/10. 2nd Playthrough: Yes. Puzzles: 8/10. Platinum Time: 1 day and 5 hours. Going underworld adventure was fun and interesting. I had to do the 1st playthrough and yes there was expert difficulty, no complaining that. Going the 1st playthrough to re-iterate HO and finding items was easier then I expected to be. No collectibles weren't needed which is good. After I completed the 1st playthrough I had to finish the bonus chapter, no pun intended and got it done. 2nd playthrough took 46 minutes to go place to place and isolated and redo all from HO to Dominos and wasn't very hard at all. I'm happy that i got it done and that's all it matters.

Popular Post ZoutjeNL
#45 Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 5/10 For the Gaming By Numbers event I was missing a game that ends with 8 so I decided to look around games that interest me and were on a good sale. I had a good time with the Uncharted games I previously played and I noticed that Lost Legacy is only 15 hours long and an easy plat. Overall this game looks amazing and that is probably the highlight from the game for me. I like Chloe as a character but I don't really care much about Nadine. The story is predictable but overall decent. I did notice it was meant to be a DLC the game just missed some marks for me. Overall I disliked Chapter 4 mainly because of the open world structure and the large amount of collectibles. The other chapters were all fun to playthrough (except some frustrating moments, more on that below). The music and acting is top notch. I started playing on Crushing mode while grabbing all collectibles, optional conversations, pictures and lockboxes along the way while keeping an eye out for chapter specific trophies. Some suggest to start on a lower difficulty first but after finishing previous Uncharted games I tought crushing wasn't so bad. Well I was wrong. Particular in two specific chapters that made me rage. The first chapter is 6 with the ACP tank, enemies spot you from miles away even if you are carefully using stealth. And the worst chapter for me was 8. There are 2 though fights here I struggled with the first one the most. Those annoying grabbing enemies can really piss off. The final part of the chapter with the Helicopter fight can also be difficult. I used the water to escape and made it a bearable fight. Lastly it was just cleanup. Overall a fun and quick platinum with a couple frustrating moments if you start out on Crushing.
Popular Post Jelloycat
Platinum #90 Persona 5 Royal Took me quite a while to finish this one as I've been a bit busy, but finally finished everything including all the new content! Persona 5 was already one of my top favorite games, and I wasn't sure what to expect out of Royal, but they really managed to make an already great game even better. The new characters, third semester, and even small changes all make playing Royal worth it, even if you've already played the original.
Popular Post Starrk_01
Plat #175 (MILESTONE): Yakuza 5 (PS3) I have taken a least two one year breaks from even playing this game just to play other games, so this sat in the backlog for quite awhile. I've been trying lately to clean up some backlog items before starting new games and decided to play this one. Didn't really consider it for the milestone until I realized how close I was to finishing it, plus it helps that now a milestone of mine will have Japanese characters in it. Makes it unique in my eyes. Anyways the game wasn't too difficult, just very time consuming for going for the 100%.

Popular Post ExistentialSolid
#194 - Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate EditionDifficulty: 8/10 ~ Enjoyment: 3/10 Earning the platinum in Injustice was sort of like trying to complete an endless set of errands. No matter how much you chip away at the list, there's always so much more to do. Let me give you a taste of what's required: complete 200 online matches, perform every special move of every character, complete all 240 base S.T.A.R Lab missions with 3 stars, complete all 20 battle modes, and, finally, reach level 100. The S.T.A.R lab missions in particular are worth mentioning for how soul-crushing they can be. You may spend an hour trying to get a single pesky star (Kryptonite Batarangs stands out as a really discouraging early mission), only to find that you have hundreds more to earn as soon as you finally succeed. The battle modes are no joke either, especially "the Max" and "Impossible," both of which took me hours (days?) of experimentation, googling, crying, and practice before eventually coming out on top. If that wasn't enough, the grind to level 100 takes absolutely forever, roughly 40-50 hours, even assuming that you complete everything else beforehand. You really have to be prepared to sink a lot of time and energy into this game if you want the platinum and it's difficult to recommend unless you really enjoy the grind that fighting games can provide. If nothing else, I'm glad to have been able to finish this seemingly endless fighter as someone with little talent or patience for fighting games. Popular Post Jounochi
Platinum #164 - Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (PS3) I had an urge to replay the main game of ACIV after 100%ing the PS4 version, so I decided to return to it on the PS3 since it had a separate trophy list. Absolutely loved replaying this game, but the online was extremely unstable for me. I actually couldn't play online with my main PS3 and found out that my old PS3 had less issues connecting. Popular Post madbuk
#383 - Grand Theft Auto V It has been a while since I have finished a game that I have disliked as much as this one. Everything about it is insultingly bad, from the generic storytelling, to the bland 1 dimensional characters that don't go through any kind of arc or development with arguably the exception of Michael, to the awful controls, to the repetitive mission design, to the tedious open world traversal, to the boring side missions, to the boring side activities... nothing about this was fun. And don't even get me started on the awful online mode either. So why did I push through this trash and finish it despite disliking it so much? Well, like my last plat (Resident Evil), this was part of a deal (with a different person this time.) I finish this, and they play Sonic Unleashed. On top of that it has been sitting on my list unfinished for over 6 years and I just wanted it finished up and off my mind (and off my unfinished shelf) so I can promptly forget I ever played it and go on with my life. I decided to play this alongside Chaos;Child because that game is actually good, and a nice break from the tedium of this game, and I'm very glad I made that decision. I could write (multiple) paragraphs on each of the points I listed above but I just won't bother (unless someone actually asks me to lol.) This game isn't worth my time going into detail about, all you need to know is it's one of the worst games I've played in a very long time.
Popular Post StraightVege
Platinum Columbia #232 I remember being disappointed with this game when it initially released on PS3, but maybe my tastes have changed a bit since, because I enjoyed it a lot more this time around. It's a really solid shooter! Still, it is hard not to think about just how much content was altered or cut from what they originally had planned (remember the old trailers?). I'm of two minds about most aspects of the final product: on one hand, Vigors and Gear are heavily simplified compared to Plasmids and Tonics, but on the other, they're more useful and satisfying than ever, with some combinations totally trivializing combat. The player can only carry two guns now, although shooting is far smoother here than in the past. The Skyhook Rail mechanic feels underdeveloped and somewhat awkward to use, yet I can't deny that it makes some battles more dynamic than in the previous titles. Columbia isn't as fleshed out and atmospheric as Rapture, but it becomes pretty interesting to explore as the environment opens up towards the end. I don't really care about the overarching story or its Multiverse Theory shenanigans, but I love the Vox Populi revolution subplot and class struggle themes. It's a shame that Levine tried to fence-sit by writing a lame moral equivalence between the Vox and Father Comstock. He must have realized he screwed up, because he struggled mightily to retcon Daisy Fitzroy's actions in the Burial at Sea Part 2 add-on ("See? She had justifiable reasons for her behavior all along!"). I miss the Splicers, too; they were interesting characters in and of themselves, while Infinite's most common enemy is generic soldiers. More unique foes, like the tortured mechanical Handymen, are rarely encountered. Like I said, I'm fairly torn about this game, although I do like it overall. The aforementioned DLC has some fantastic confrontations with Ryan and Fontaine, I must say. It's worth playing just for that reason, even if it is a little fanservicey, and does some silly things with the first game's story. A good send-off for the series, which left me feeling very melancholy. On the whole, after playing through the entire series again back-to-back, I still think the best of Levine's "shock" games is System Shock 2—the gameplay has become progressively watered-down since then (heck, Infinite didn't even feature the ability to hack machines). The original BioShock would be my second favorite, and I did develop a newfound respect for Infinite, so I now think Bio 2 is the weakest, by a hair. I've been considering trying Prey (2017) next, since I've read it's an appropriate game for BioShock fans. Popular Post MrGarland
Difficulty: 6/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 To say the least, I wasn't originally planning to play this game. I saw a review about it when it first came out, and that probably made my head turn away. But for whatever reason, I bought it. In fact, in 2019. Probably because the last few copies were on sale. I know I could buy it digitally, but I own the sequel physically, so... Anyway, to be fair, this isn't by any means a bad game. The plot was ok and the gameplay was actually pretty good. That's pretty much all the good things I have to say about this game. Then comes things I disliked. I'll name a couple of things that I didn't like: Checkpoint system. Probably the first negative thing I discovered was this. There's nothing more annoying than going a couple segments back just because I died, and I can say that this happened too many times on all my playthroughs. RNG when going for treasures. Do I even have to say anything else? I will mention that I didn't need that much luck when it comes to diamond relics, but for gadget pieces, don't get me started. Quitting while in the middle of a level sends you back at the beginning. If you're going for diamond relics or such, that's fine. But if you're just playing casually, this can be annoying. Granted, the levels aren't too long, but still. No NG+. Technically, there is, but you can only select from any Knack you've unlocked. Everything else when selecting a different difficulty will be lost. Camera angles. Not much of a complaint, but there are at least two sections where the came angle tends to be bad (as shown in the screenshot below) and usually there are enemies. Next, I'm going to cover each of my playthroughs, just to give a brief summary of how they went. Spoiler 1st and 2nd playthrough (Easy): I know I could've started on Hard, but I wanted to get used to the game, as well as get most of the collectibles without too much of a trouble. The only thing I disliked about the Easy mode is that certain enemies deal quite a lot of damage. Not exactly fair, considering the low difficulty setting, isn't it? By the time I cleared the game for the first time, I managed to get almost all the gadget pieces. In fact, I was only missing two. Of course, getting those was an absolute pain, since I got the last one when I was almost done with my 2nd playthrough. I also decided to farm diamond relics on this run rather than doing so on my Hard playthrough. I guess I just got lucky since I pretty much needed between 2-20 tries for every relic. 3rd playthrough (Hard): With Diamond Knack unlocked, it was time to clear the game on Hard in order to unlock Very Hard. This wasn't too bad, despite the enemies being slightly more aggressive. The only annoying parts I can think of were Chapters 5-3 and 11-5. Other than that, this playthrough was pretty much a speedrun. I also managed to avoid one mandatory fight, though it was pure luck. Shortly at the beginning of Chapter 10-1, you'll come across some bugs and a goblin. Somehow, I managed to get past through this, but just barely as the gate closed, but I ended on the other side. Lucky. 4th and final playthrough (Very Hard): The last playthrough. It was slightly harder than the previous one. To make it a little easier, I decided to take some parts slowly. Only if I knew what was coming, I proceeded normally. Although there were several annoying sections, I'd say Chapters 3-4, 5-3, 11-5 and 13-4 were the worst. Chapter 3-4: The only reason I hate this part so much are the tanks. On any other run, they weren't that much of a problem. But here, they take more than 50% of your health, even if you're using a Diamond Knack. The ones that deploy an electric barrier were the worst. Combine this with the bad checkpoint system, and you're all set. Chapter 5-3: The second part where that orb is stealing your relics is the worst. On my Hard playthrough, I died once because I wasn't fast enough. But here, that didn't work. I died at least twice before I decided to cheat by using a tornado super move. Thankfully, you're invincible when doing so. Chapter 11-5: When I did this boss battle on Hard, she was somewhat annoying, because of one reason. The relics collected in this Chapter gives less health than they do normally. Same thing happens on this difficulty. Naturally, it means that this has to be done without taking too much damage since Knack is poisoned. Only needed about 2-3 attempts before I made it. Also, her taunting when you take damage or die is annoying. Chapter 13-4: The boss before the final one has learned some new tricks. A rather annoying tricks. I'd say the first phase was the more annoying one. Thankfully, you don't have to do that phase again if you die in the second one which happened to me. What makes this battle annoying are its new attacks. Now it's constantly shooting lasers, as well as throwing bombs. With these, it pretty much takes longer since you have to evade its new attacks while attacking it. As for the final boss, there's not much to say. Having done three playthroughs before this, I had no trouble defeating it. I only died once, but that's it. The last thing to mention are the Time Attack and the Colosseum modes. I decided to do these before my Very Hard playthrough. I have to admit that I feared them first, since you have to achieve 5 stars on each stage. Turns out, these were without a doubt the easiest part in the game as I managed to get 5 stars on most of them on my first attempt. And that's all there's to this. Like I've said earlier, I wouldn't call it the worst game ever made. I've played worse. However, comparing all the PS4 launch titles I've played so far (Knack, Killzone Shadow Fall and Resogun), this is the weakest one. It's by no means a bad game, but the flaws drop my enjoyment. Next game on the list is (as you can probably guess) the sequel. I've been playing it for a while, but I can tell that it's better than this. So much better. I might as well add my platinum screenshot here as a bonus. Spoiler Edited August 13, 2020 by MrGarland
Popular Post Mayellie
#28 & 2000th Trophy Milestone - The Last of Us Part II Every Last One Of Them Collect All Trophies Oh boy, oh boy. The Last of Us Part 2, huh. As you read this, you either reminisce your own playthrough(s) of the game, and go over all the little details and scenes in your head that made it one to remember for its gut-wrenching, emotional, and powerful story, possibly even with a tear-stained tissue or two in your hand (oookay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit here ).... oooor feel bad for me because you think I wasted both my time and money on it. Initially while writing this post, I simply listed what I liked and what I thought needed improvement within the game. The post got waaaaay too long (because of the former). Instead, I realized I could mostly summarize and describe my experience with TLOU2 as a taco. So here it goes. This game is a lot like eating a taco. A big, spicy taco. You start off fine, with all the food neatly tucked in. Very soon afterwards, it’s a delicious, surprising mess! The food starts to spill out and you don’t know whether to watch out for the pieces falling out from the back, the front, or even the sides (hey, I did say it was a big taco), as you try to keep all the sauce inside. You manage to tuck everything back into the taco, and it’s no longer chaotic… but only for a few minutes before everything starts to tumble out of the taco again! You’re overwhelmed with all this good food, and no matter which angle you look at the taco, there’s something new falling out of it and surprising you. TLOU2 is all of that in the best way possible! It has its calm moments where you’re simply soaking it in, followed by fast-paced, shocking moments, too. The spice of the taco kicks in with NG+, where I gave up my stealth approach for a more Rambo-style one. As a result, I kept discovering new gameplay mechanics I didn't even know existed! I also commented on a separate TLOU2-related thread about how my feelings towards the two games differ because while it’s the same franchise, the two games are completely different to me. I can’t really paraphrase it since I have nothing else to add (and because I can’t be bothered), so I’m just gonna copy-paste it here. I found Part 1 to be a "heartwarming" kind of emotional, where you see Joel and Ellie's bond flourish throughout the game. They kinda hate each other first, and by the end, they're inseparable. Another heartwarming moment is the giraffe scene we all know and love, in addition to Joel comforting Ellie at the end of the Winter/David section. It was wonderful to see them come such a long way (literally and figuratively). In Part 1, I would stop and admire the peace and quiet of some sections, Ellie's lighthearted jokes, and the scenery. Part 2 is still very emotional, but in a completely different way. Rather than in a touching way, it's full of hate, fury, and the need for vengeance. Part 2 is gut-wrenching, harsh, unforgiving, dark, and mature. Both games perfectly execute the story based on their respective themes and tones, in my opinion. Unlike admiring the quiet sections of the first game, all I could think about in Part 2 was that this wasn't just "quiet". It was the calm before the storm. So, I can't compare them too much. They're so different, but also so similar. I would be directly insulting Naughty Dog and my experience with the game if I didn’t talk about the PHENOMENAL gameplay! I thought TLOU1 was already great…until I played this one. With the addition of realistic human enemy AI where they turn into “alert mode” once their companion doesn’t reply, it makes you think more about who you’ll pick off first in encounters. Add that to enemy dogs that literally keep you on your feet, otherwise you’ll get spotted, and it’s intense. Combat itself is unbelievably fluid. It’s almost like a dance. Organic, light, fast, intense. Complements the complexity and variety of both area and encounter designs perfectly. Crawl through the grass to reach the enemy to your right, use your bow to take out someone on the roof, head to the right to… oh crap, spotted! Run through the house and up the stairs, hide under the bed, get on the roof to perform an aerial takedown… I can go on and on. It’s so much fun! Even more so in NG+ with an arsenal of weapons, where Ellie was no longer stuck in a room full of Infected. They were stuck with her. Don’t even get me started on the background music, especially during tense encounters. It’s always there, ringing. Subtle, but booming. Provides a ton of immersion and adds an edge. Overall, even if the story isn’t your piece of taco, TLOU2 is still worth picking up for its incredibly fun and immersive gameplay that has raised the bar for all other games. I certainly plan on returning to it in a few years for those Grounded + Permadeath (can't wait for my 1 hour playthrough ?) DLC trophies. Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Time: 48 hours for my first playthrough (trust me, I don’t know how either), 21 hours for NG+. 6 hours for collectible clean up using chapter select (I only missed 30 collectibles, it’s just that loading times were slow). 75 hours total. Highly, highly recommend! Edited August 14, 2020 by Mayellie

Popular Post Intoner_Zero
Plat #150: The Last Of Us Part II Whew, finally! First playthrough was fine, 2nd time was pretty boring and I fell asleep lots of times trying to progress. On the game as a whole: there were a few parts that grabbed me, but mostly I felt that I had an average experience. Never got exposed to the leaks, had a little hype built up, but when finishing the game there was some sense of disconnect for me. I'm one of those people who feel that sequels to things are usually never as interesting as the first offering, so that's probably why. I just really favor Part I's presentation of its beautiful bleakness and harshness, the journey of it all. Will say that Part II's presentation is certainly polished and going from cutscene to an encounter is seamless. Didn't have a problem with the characters or with the violence depicted. But, like some other people have voiced, there are problems within and I agree that there are pacing and editing ones. Lastly, I can appreciate a game series that can permanently retire (iconic) characters.

It felt pretty clunky and it was a bit frustrating waiting for your party to form up, constantly tripping over each other whenever you speak to a vendor or important NPC. It still had its charms, but I kind of enjoyed Adventure of Mana a bit more. I'll eventually give Trials of Mana a go when its on sale. The end game grind wasn't tooooo bad. Popular Post ExistentialSolid
#195 - Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout ~ Ultimate Fall Guy ~Difficulty: 7 (with exploit), 8-9 (without exploit) ~ Enjoyment: 9/10 At this point, what really needs to be said about Fall Guys? The infamous "Infallible" trophy rocked the world of PSNP so hard that wars are still being waged over whether the trophy should have ever made it into the game. With how vicious the fighting has become, I fully expect to hear this trophy being discussed (and argued over) for many years to come. But enough of that; what was the journey to the platinum like? Surprisingly, it was fun! I stumbled at first, scraping my way to a few finals here and there. Victory was rare but boy was it sweet. I kept grinding, day after day, getting more consistent at the races, learning how to more optimally push around soccer balls, jumping instead of walking across the hex panels. My level rose and so too did my rate of victory. The possibility of winning 5 episodes in a row started to feel more and more tangible as streaks of 2 and eventually 3 wins began to happen naturally. I kept at it when, all of a sudden, BOOM! An exploit was found. A seemingly simple exploit at that: simply leave the show when you're at risk of losing and your win streak for Infallible is preserved. In other words, as long as you have the ability to get 5 wins in a single play session, you could earn Infallible. This changed everything. The game became less about luck (and less about skill to some degree) and more about knowing when and where to abandon ship and start a fresh round. Within hours of the exploit's discovery, a wave of trophy hunters swept in to claim this now toothless bounty (myself included). And that was the end. The grind was over. From there, it was a slow trudge to the finish line. Level 40, buying 50 cosmetics, hollow errands really but nothing to be excited over. The thrill of the hunt had ceased. So, what will I remember about this game? That time some 10 year old pushed me into the slime? The moment of triumph when the platinum popped? Nope. What I will remember are those first few days of excitement. The thrill of victory when your win streak was on the line. What I will remember is the uncontrollable beating in my chest in the pursuit of Infallible. Edited August 16, 2020 by ExistentialSolid

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#322 - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow Preserved Hope Unlock all trophies I think I prefer the first game overall. It had a better story and more memorable missions. Having said that, I still think this is a really good game, even if it felt a little on the short side. I appreciated the refinements made to the gameplay, however small they were. The trophy list was less grindy this time around, but you can't cheese the no death run as easily as you could in the first game, so that lead to a few restarts. Nothing I'd really consider difficult though. I'm really looking forward to playing Chaos Theory as it's widely considered the best game in the series. I'll be starting that soon.
