Popular Post Cave Johnson
Yumeutsutsu Re:Master Yumeutsutsu Re:Master Final Version Unlocked all trophies. Yumeutsutsu Re:After Yumeutsutsu Re:After Final Version Unlocked all trophies. Though it moves away from nurses entirely, Yumeutsutsu Re:Master is another yuri VN from Kogado Studio. It fits right in with the others as a seemingly normal setting where weird shit (sometimes supernatural) happens depending on the route. Spoiler It's all fun and games until someone pulls a gun, someone gets stabbed, shot, etc. While I had some idea of what to expect, Kogado really surprised me this time. Yumeutsutsu is not only a huge improvement over Nurse Love Addiction, but also manages to be even better than Nurse Love Syndrome. To me it is nearly a yuri masterpiece, second only to Flowers Natsu-hen. I'm not going to mention much relating to Re:After. Since it primarily consists of continuations to the routes in Re:Master, basically everything is a spoiler. Something I can mention is that they actually gave Honoka a route in Re:After. She should have had one in the first place, but at least Kogado fixed their mistake. With each route being written by a different person, there's a lot of variety. Every route goes down a completely different path with very few repeated scenes (once past the common route part). While Marie's route seems a bit short, the other three are about as long as the routes in Nurse Love Syndrome. In fact, they might even be longer. I ended up going with Nana's route first. Of course I went for the seiyuu character named Nana (she's nothing like that Nana, though). Speaking of which, her route was written by the same scenario writer responsible for Flowers; a significant part of why it is so great. Nearly all of the route is viewed from Nana's perspective. It's easy to see why given what's going on at the time; Nana is going through some complicated stuff, while Ai only has one thing on her mind: Nana (lol). Seeing Nana warm up to Ai despite her insecurities is both adorable and heartwarming. If I had to pick I'd say this is my favorite route, though I'd also cheat and say it is tied with Saki's route. I didn't give much thought to the order I read the other routes. I did save the one I thought would be considered the main route for last, however. Next, I went with Marie's route, which I mentioned previously as seeming shorter than the others. Coming from Nana's route, it felt a bit disappointing. It's still good though, and is on par with the quality of the other routes. In one aspect, Marie's route actually beats all the others: it's the only one that shows Spoiler marriage. My other favorite (Saki's route) was the third one I read. The most "normal" of the four routes, though I suppose none of them really are. Saki is a unique character (from what I've seen, at least) that makes this route, which is basically about writing a script, both funny and interesting. She is an eccentric scenario writer who isn't exactly the most likeable character at first. That quickly changed, however, and Saki ended up being my favorite character. Her impromptu speeches that don't really mean anything, often as a result of arguing with the director (Kokoro) never get old. The way she shows interest in Ai early on is very different from Nana and Marie; those two were hitting on Ai nonstop in the common route (again, lol). Their relationship (Ai and Saki) develops very slowly, but when it finally advances is one of the best scenes in the game. A great quote from Saki that is unfortunately marred slightly by typos: Kokoro's route… I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. A line is crossed that I'm sure some would rather not see crossed. After reading thousands of chapters of yuri manga this concept in fiction isn't new to me, nor am I bothered by it in the slightest. The following screenshot says everything for me: Spoiler That aspect of the route aside, it's by far the most unique one. The direction it goes in was not something I expected at all. There's not much to discuss without bringing up spoilers, and I don't care to go into too much detail. I mean, the odds anyone has read this far are already low, and if I start putting a bunch of paragraphs in spoiler boxes, no one is going to read that shit. Did I mention that Kokoro is incredibly cute? Here is a rare moment of her smiling, along with an apt description of Eureka Software by Ai:

Popular Post Draps-1337
#72 Killzone: Shadow Fall What an absolute grind! The single-player is pretty good, has some fun set pieces, but not quite what I remember of the older Killzone games. the hard difficulty was pretty tough, (and I have to do it again with 3 lives for the DLC trophy) But the multiplayer was a huge grind, no one is playing anymore, so the best way to get the trophies is bot matches. in which you can farm all trophies except 1 which requires a real person. after several attempts I finally got someone to show up from a boosting session. and managed to get the requirements for the trophy done! Now I'm grinding the DLC to try 100% this game. but I fear I may give up on the Elite difficulty playthrough as it's super tedious.

I still stand by that today, but I gave myself the chance to try this sequel and I freaking loved it, more than the original! Game is getting all sorts of criticism for a number of reasons but as far as I'm concerned it is excellent and I had a blast. I'm glad there was no shoehorned ass multiplayer this time, which allowed me to hit platinum. As an ABSOLUTE CHICKEN, it was hard going through some portions as this one has more horror elements than the first but I'm glad I powered through because the experience was worth the suffering lol I should be back here soon, dancing with the Phantom Thieves at the moment but the ball is almost over

Popular Post Ala-Arska
Torchlight 2 Delver Obtain All The Trophies What is it about clockworks and final boss battles? I'm sorry, it's very hard to concentrate when someone's drilling next door. Goddamn son of a mumble jumble rumble in the jungle. ...Anyhoo, here is my latest PLATINUM, TORCHLIGHT 2. AN ACTION RPG WITH A PARTY OF ONE, AND A PET!! That's for my neighbors So, much like ye olde Baldur's Gates and Icewind Dales. Collecting loot, micro managing your gear to be the very top notch it can be, spells! Only Torchlight 2 is super duper easier and more forgiving. At least on lower difficulties. Which I played. Because I'm a girlie girl, okay? In fact, at one point I was so OP that this RPG turned into a twin-stick Housemarque shooter. Point crossbow, shoot, watch goblins explode Graphics are hard to look at, at first. They look dated and plain. But as you progress, you'll notice a good amount of details that are put into each world. Music is oddly on almost mute on default. I did put it louder, but still can't recall any tunes. And that's after 3,5 playthroughs Having to play the same campaign multiple times is always numb inducing. But I just put little challenges here and there for myself, to keep it spicy. Do this corridor section without taking damage, gather this amount of Gold faster than last time, DON'T GET EATEN BY THAT MONST oh too late. Improving your stuff and collecting a tiny bit better equipment, that's my addiction. I could play a game where your only task is to upgrade shit. Not literal shit, mind you. Although...I could use some magic to enhance my poop, say, to some 4-star royalty crap. And that to a purple, Legendary Unicorn Dung! Despite the slog that is the lvl 100 grind, I liked Torchlight 2 quite a bit. For fans of this genre, pandas and alpacas, this suits you like an arrow to the knee

Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#314: Look, we've got a platinum! Hooray for another birthday platinum!! This is also ANOTHER platinum I had on my old profile, so that's also neat. I don't remember much of anything about my first earning of it, including how annoying this game was. It's obviously a throwback to snes rpgs of yore, but it feels like just that and nothing else. It really doesn't feel interesting or unique outside of that, which means even little to me seeing as to how I was never huge into RPGs period. There's just alot of design choices I don't get either. You have a shortcut option to optimize equipment, but menus for attacks and items and generally unhelpful and a slog to go through to find what you need. The game has this dynamic optional battle system where enemies have to be touched to be engaged, but any enemy in the surrounding area can potentially join in. This wouldn't be so bad if there was some consistency in attacking, but there isn't. Sometimes an attack will come out quickly, and other times you have to watch a painfully slow walking animation from the attacker. And THIS is made worse by the games' high Attack Miss percentage. I really don't get the logic behind it; you can faster and more powerful than any given enemy, and yet still be subjected to long strings of missed attacks from both you and them. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what misses and what doesn't, and these long tedious battles are literally doubled in length because of it. You have to rely on Magic/Skills which at least guarantee a hit, and EVEN THEN you have to be constantly buying MP refills, which (like alot of items) are stupidly expensive. You spend a good chunk of the game separated from the other party members, causing to rely on monsters you can capture and add to your party, but these monsters suck, and essentially are there to be a bullseye away from you. And lastly we come to the story. This is a sequel to another game, but I don't care to find out what happened. You see, this is a "comedy" game; comedy that's not so much about wit and clever writing, but about pop culture references and lame one-liners. Almost every bit of dialogue consists of classic speech followed by modernized slang, a reference, or something that completely undermines any potential bit of storytelling that came before it by trying to be "randum and funneh". I feel bad knocking games like this, because they are usually made by a small team, but I couldn't help but finding this to be an annoying experience. I don't wanna see less from the devs, I just wanna hope they learn from this one and make the next one better.
Popular Post DamagingRob
#471- Destroy All Humans! 2 Make War, Not Love Unlock all other trophies. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. A lot of it just felt super tedious. There are so many escort missions, where the person you're protecting can get hurt by friendly fire, and has a tendency to stop moving if you get too far ahead of them. So you need to go as slow as them, and try not to hit them while shooting enemies. I never failed one of these, though. Despite them often taking more damage from me probably than the enemies. :/ What I did fail a lot was this stupid mission where you need to protect buildings from enemies for an absurd amount of time. And another where I kept getting discovered, despite being in a human body. And if you fail a mission, you have to go through all of it again. Have these devs never heard of checkpoints? You also need to be wearing a certain disguise to start most missions, so you get to hunt for that person again before you can even restart.. The ammo system is the worst thing ever. Get ready for My Name is Mayo redux, as you mash X to smash an object and get random ammo. Even if you're full up on a weapon, it still gives you ammo for it. Leading to me mostly using weapons that did piss damage to these bullet sponge enemies. Which doesn't make it hard, just slow and tedious. The game even crashed twice, which for a long time, I thought was going to be the only thing it did better than the first game. But that was the same amount of times the first one crashed for me, so in the end, it does nothing better. I'm fairly shocked a number of people think this one was an improvement. The good? The humour is still there, and parts of it are fun. But it's still a far worse game than the previous entry. Platinum image: Spoiler

Guest
Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 One of my all time favorite B-movie types of games. Not a full fledged triple A game, but not quite an indie game. Just pure arcade, nonsensical fun. It's goofy as hell and never shies away. I desperately wish there were more games like this nowadays where the game doesn't try to be aggressively realistic and is just a video game with fun shit to do. The only thing that knocked it down for me from a 10/10 was simply because some of the challenges are brutally hard. As an example, a couple of the races in the later levels need a near-perfect run for a 3-star score. I wouldn't mind this if the rest of the game was like this, but the rest of the game (at least in the story) is relatively pain free and fun. It's an unneeded difficulty spike. Adding to this, the final boss is also a massive difficulty spike. Again, if there were bosses leading up to the final boss(es) that could tighten your skills that would be necessary for the fight, then that's fine, but because there's really only one boss before this, and it's quite easy, then it comes across as needlessly hard because the game doesn't force you to play at a high level until the absolute end. Besides these small gripes, the game is unbelievably fun otherwise. The 1950's or whenever aesthetic is so fun and goofy, and there are so many jabs at the politics and society at the time, that it comes across as so charming. TL;DR: Besides some of the brutal challenges and the overly difficult final boss(es), the game is an absolute joy. Popular Post snakebit10
313 Started this one last year but stopped for some reason. Overall it is a decent game and you can see the Zelda influence throughout the game. Some may even think it is a blatant ripoff. While I did enjoy it, but the fishing mini game was a pain. Fishing has nothing to do with the game. There is no benefit of catching the fish. Plus some are very rare and you have to depend on good ole rng to go your way. A couple of the fish are fast and can get away pretty easily. Overall 7/10 Enjoyment 3/10 Difficulty (Mostly due to the fishing trophy) Edited August 11, 2020 by snakebit10
Popular Post ladynadiad
#169 - Miden Tower Sword Lies Beyond the End of the Cycle First off, I have to say that is one of the most adorable platinum images I've earned and I kind of wish I'd have been able to make it a milestone because this was a fun game and the platinum image and title are pretty neat! Miden Tower is a Kemco RPG, so pretty short and easy overall. Took me less than 15 hours to get this platinum. However, the game was so fun that I did this mostly in one night. Definitely was glad I picked this one up! I'll be the first to say that the story wasn't anything amazingly creative. Pretty much dealing with a corrupt empire that wants to do harm to the Midenians, though I will admit the setting was pretty creative with it being a tower created by mages to be a place they could live in without ever going outside. I thought the setting being a tower was going to be rather dull but it ended up being a very interesting world. What made this game really shine though was the characters and their interactions. You start off with grumpy and surly Valen who wants to kill every imperial solider in the world because his parents and best friend were killed without any mercy when he was a kid by soldiers from the empire outside of the tower. While he's off hunting them he ends up with a wall magicka named Leila who turns his life upside down all because he summoned her to save his life and now he's stuck with her for as long as they both live. He has to teach her basic knowledge about the world and even despite that she has numerous funny moments that are born from the fact that she lacks experience and knowledge. She wants to protect Valen and make sure he's happy and she tends to go a bit overboard with it. It's actually really cute and she's a very fun character who complements a surly protagonist well. The other two party members also do a great job forcing Valen to grow into a much better person. This was really where the game shined because there were so many cute and funny moments. I laughed out loud more than a few times from the antics of the various characters. The story had some serious and sad moments too. It was actually pretty amazing that for how short the game was, I actually grew attached to the characters. The game was overall great. Short and fun with a good story that didn't overstay its welcome. It felt like a perfect length with nothing feeling truly excessive and it engaged my interest well enough that I didn't want to stop playing. No missable trophies and nothing too hard. About the only thing you might need a guide for is if you can't find one of the subquests since a listing of what location they are in can be helpful. The subquests were pretty easy, stuff like defeat so many of a certain type of monster, find an item, or defeat a powerful monster in an area It's a turn based RPG and some of the boss battles can get pretty challenging but overall as long as you're not avoiding random encounters you'll do fine. The game doesn't have any difficulty based trophies, so feel free to play on easy and enjoy the story.
