Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #92 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Remastered Difficulty: 2.5/10 Playtime: 30 hours Enjoyment: 8/10 (remastered), 10/10(original) Ah, San Andreas. Here's a game that brings back some nostalgic memories. Before I get to that, let met just quickly explain something. It should be mentioned that I got the platinum on the PS4 version a few years ago. However, since I've never talked about it before, I might as well do so now. This is how I've experienced the game and see it, then and now. Spoiler I remember when the game first came out. I visited one of the hypermarkets near me, and what I see: a shelf full of this game. I'm pretty sure GTA V did the same, but I don't remember seeing that. Anyway, while I never owned or played it back then, I did play it on two occasions. The first time was at one of my relatives. However, since it was on PC and I don't play games on PC that much, I did some free roam before I got bored. The other time I played was at one of my friends. All we did was play some co op. That was pretty much it, but it was fun. And yes, we were underage back then, but that's nothing new nowdays. It's the same thing with GTA V. While I did buy the game on the PS2 several years later, I never played it. I have no idea why. In 2017, it finally happened when I bought the PS4. So far, Vice City was only one in the trilogy I've played before, but this one was a new experience. So, how was the game? I had some knowledge about it, but I never thought it would be this good. It's a big improvement from the previous games. I enjoyed it more than I thought. While this game may be great, it's not exactly perfect. Gameplay-wise, there's nothing I got to complain about. Where the game falls short is the plot. It starts good, but goes downhill later. I'll let the video below explain how. And no, that's not my video. It's just something I saw a long time ago, but I especially agree with Ryder's part. I also honestly think that Rockstar made a bad decision when they made Ryder a bad guy. He deserved better. Besides the plot, the game could've been even better if they hadn't removed so many unused dialogues. That, and some other things such as the skateboard. As for the dialogues, there are many missions that could've been better if they included those, but I'll also say that there are a couple of less good ones (such as certain dialogues in Just Business or the removed lines Catalina says through the game). I hope you understand what I mean by these. There's already a bunch of videos on YouTube so I recommend checking them out in case you haven't heard of them. And yes, I understand that there are mods for those, but it's not the same thing... Then there's the remastered version. The only reason I did this is because I started to get nostalgic. I saw the video, explaining why it's bad. To be fair, I didn't find it that bad, but I still prefer the original than this. I'm glad that they changed some things (mainly time limits in certain missions), but there are some annoying things. There's already a video about it, but I'll just name a few. Mainly those that bothered me. The aiming option. You can change between free aim and lock-on. Regardless which option I selected, the aim always auto-locks on the target. I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted so I sticked to lock-on aim. One of the police scanner quotes (whenever you get a wanted level) doesn't play properly at times, but only the part at the beginning. The missions that feature a timer. If you listen carefully, it sounds somewhat glitched. The first time I heard that, I thought it was just me. I had to check out some other videos to see if that happens to everyone else. Turns out it's not just me. Game crashing. I decided to play safe by buying it digitally (even though it probably doesn't matter much). I guess I got lucky when I say the game crashed twice. Once when playing pool and the second time during the mission Up, Up and Away!. Checkpoint system. It's a nice feature, but it's not in every mission. This means that whenever I failed a mission, it's back to the beginning, and some of them are long. I can accept it not being in the original, but here? It could've been done better. Next thing are the missions. I'm not going to cover all of them. Only a few, and that's mainly if there's anything I'd like to mention or some such. I'd still want to say that this game has one of the best missions to offer, though it also has its own share of less good ones. Drive-Thru: Putting Big Smoke's legendary order aside, one thing I don't understand is why that car Ballas are driving takes so many bullets before it blows. The same thing happens in the first mission. Oh, and those unused Sweet's lines for failing to destroy that car in time? It makes no sense that they're not in the game. Life's a Beach: Usually an easy mission, but not in this version. That is, until I read how you have to do it. Seems like they changed it up a bit. Instead of pressing the button once at the right time, you have to do it a few times. Why change it like that? Stupid f***ed-up s***. I also tried the glitch, but every time I tried, I aimed at the pedestrians which resulted in a failure. Seriously, that aiming option sucks. No matter what option I selected, it always does whatever it wants. Later I've read that you can use a sniper rifle to do that glitch. I haven't tested it, so it needs to be confirmed. You can find a sniper rifle in a movie studio next to Market Station in Los Santos in case you want to try it out yourself. This mission also has a ton of unused dialogues. I don't know about you, but I think they should've kept those in the game. The party feels pretty bland without those. Air Raid: Not very hard, but the amount of focus needed is high. The first time I played this, I failed a few times because I wasn't paying attention. The next one, however. Supply Lines...: Before I even started playing, I had some knowledge about this mission, and that was the difficulty. Watching it from the video didn't seem so bad, but boy was I mistaken. So, what can I say about this? Well, only one thing. Hardest mission ever! Or at least it was when I played it for the first time, but I'll still consider this as one of the hardest missions. The main thing that makes this mission hard are the controls. They're absolutely terrible. That took me a while to get used to. Not only that, but the plane has a limited amount of fuel. If it runs out, you fail. Simple as that. The first time I did this, I failed at least 10 times or so. I'm not kidding when I say I almost gave up on platinum because of this mission. I decided to take a break, and try later. A couple of attempts later, I made it, but it was an extremely close call as the fuel meter was almost empty when I completed the mission. As for the remastered version, I managed to complete it on my first attempt. Mainly because the plane consumes less fuel. That, or I just got used to the bad controls. Either way, f*** this mission. Learning to Fly: The last hard mission. Or at least it was when I did it for the first time. When I redid it, I had no trouble clearing it, but I'm still not fond of this mission. Also, is it just me, or is getting gold on these lessons easier in the remastered version? Breaking the Bank at Caligula's: I've seen different ways to fail various missions, and some of them can be quite amusing. This mission, however, is something I've never seen any fails so I decided to try something. If you throw all the smoke grenades away before the spot you're supposed to use them, you get a unique fail line which goes like this: "You idiot you wasted all the grenades!". Vertical Bird: The only thing I have to say about this mission is that they should've kept those CJ's lines during the boat ride. It could've made that part better. That, or all those removed lines from soldiers. Same could be said about the FBI in a certain mission. Kind of feel sorry for them that they're mute. Well, mostly. The last thing to mention are the trophies. Having platinumed this game twice now, getting everything was easy. Actually, Vigilante was the only hard thing. I've never been that good when it comes to this game, and that's because I did it the hard way once again. Also, when I finally completed it, I got busted. Lost my weapons, but at least I got the trophy. This ended up being longer than I thought, so I hope you don't mind that. All in all, despite some things, I'd say this is one of the best games I've played. It could've been even better if Rockstar had made a good use of some things, but what's done is done. At least people are still making videos based on this game, be it gameplay, music or DIY movies so the legacy of this game is still going strong. I recommend checking out videos such as Los Santos High School, What Is Cheese and Ryder Ninja Style. They're awesome. I also want to mention that this is my personal favorite in the series. GTA V is good, but I never really got into it. However, when it comes to music, Vice City is still my favorite in that category. Finally, I'm planning to do a 100% run on this game at some point. I've done that on the other two of the trilogy since that is mandatory for platinums, but not here. At least you don't have to do everything in this game to achieve that, but it's still quite a task. I also might as well say these in here. The trophy that requires to fail a mission is technically not a missable. You can get it if you play a Vigilante. I tested it at the very beginning, and the trophy unlocked. The playtime in the remastered version's trophy guide is not high enough. I know it's pointless to complain, but 20 hours? At least the PS4 version has the correct time which is 40 hours. That's much closer. No matter how good you are, you should always consider others when creating a guide. It feels like something a speedrunner can achieve. Just saying. Since I pretty much focused on getting the platinum as fast as possible, I kept CJ's appearance pretty much unchanged, so here's a screenshot of him from the original if I had done so in the remastered one. Skinny and muscular is my style. Platinum #93 Remember Me Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Spoiler Anyone remember this game? At least I do. I saw the first images of it when it was announced, and I thought it looked interesting. Naturally, I had to check it out. In total, it took me 6 years before I got the platinum. I'll explain it in a moment, but first, the game. It felt like a mix between Uncharted and Batman Arkham games. By these, I mean the climbing and the combat. It's exactly like in these games. It's not a bad thing, and I'm not saying it's copying or anything. At least the combat has its own features. And if I might say, I thought it was a good game. Not exactly a perfect game, but still enjoyable. So, the reason it took me so long to get this done? One of the collectibles glitched, and I couldn't collect it. I've checked to see if I was in the right place, and I was. But for some reason, I couldn't collect it, and thus, the platinum became unobtainable for me at the time. After several years, I finally got it. How exactly? I decided to see if buying digitally would make any difference. It did. Thankfully, the trophy progress carries over even if you buy it again. I also lost my physical copy a long time ago, so I'm grateful that the game still exists in the PS Store. And no, I couldn't buy it digitally back then nor did it occur in my mind at the time. If there's anything I hate about this game, it's that you can't skip the cutscenes. This means that I've seen them twice. Nothing wrong with that, but when I was going for the last few trophies I hadn't done, I had to watch them again. It would've been nice to have an option to skip them. Did they forget to add that in the game? Oh, and you can't walk off from the side of the stairs. You have to walk all the way down. You can't take shortcuts. Why? It's just a minor complaint. Like I said earlier, this is a good game, despite the short story. The concept of mixing memories was an interesting idea. It's something you don't see everyday. Not to mention, the game looks good. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a sequel, although it's up to Capcom, from what I've read. With all that being said, I've achieved my goal of getting at least two PS3 platinums. I also got 100% on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, so there's that too. I will resume working on PS4 for now, but I'll be back on PS3 when the time is right. More about that later. Popular Post DefinitiveTJ
50th platinum: Bioshock Remastered When I started this account last year it was mostly so I could platinum Bloodborne for a second time but after that I figured it would be a good time to replay some other favorites. So now 49 plats later (40 this year alone) it was time for bioshock. It's weird but even though I always thought of it as a classic, I forgot how good it was and still is. From the start of had a lot of fun and I couldn't stop playing it. Rapture is as beautiful and addicting as ever and it might be time to pick Atlus Shrugged up again, the book that mostly inspired Ken Levine while making bioshock. I'm still debating if I'm starting Bioshock 2 or directly Bioshock Infinite but that I'm not done yet 10 years after I played the first one says enough. 50th platinum: Bioshock Remastered When I started this account last year it was mostly so I could platinum Bloodborne for a second time but after that I figured it would be a good time to replay some other favorites. Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#315: Platinum Anarchist 1 year and 8 months! Another platinum that took me forever because I thought I could never have the patience to get it done. It was one of those instances where things just clicked, and you start blowing through these trophies, wondering what you were even worried about. Oh sure, there were a couple of fights on Hard mode that felt like they came down to luck, but hey, you only gotta pull it off once! That being said, I'm kinda amazed of how much I ended up liking this game. I never hated it, but I did dismiss it for years and years after playing it when it first came out. I just wasn't a fan of the over-the-shoulder fighting, the attempts at humor were lame, the fact that there were diverse body types for the males characters, and only one slim figure for all the female characters (OK, maybe one is a bit shorter than the rest). But I did like the character designs, how every character had a huge and mostly unique moveset, and the fact that it's a game where 90% of the characters you meet you can play as. But replaying it made me appreciate the narrative, oddly enough. I like the contrast between personal and proper justice, and how each works in their own ways and how both can get twisted from what they are supposed to accomplished. The main antagonist Max in particular stole the show for me; there is just something so gripping and human about his story, so much that the few moments he's onscreen he manages to leave a huge impact. And yes, the game has a killer soundtrack. Old news, amirite? Anyways, feels great to have this game done. I had fun, I'll play it again for fun, but I ain't attempting the platinum again.

Popular Post Spinosaurus Rex
PLATINUM #155 - LIFE IS STRANGE (no platinum image, because it must be something with transparency of PNG image, there's how it looks like) Difficulty: 2/10 | Platinum enjoyment: 8/10 | Game enjoyment: 8/10 | Plat tier: UNCOMMON Game was sitting in my PS+ backlog for pretty long, so now it was time to finally give it a chance. Life Is Strange is a very good adventure drama game developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Square Enix, probably as an answer to The Walking Dead/Heavy Rain, swapping QTE by something different: the ability to rewind time. By introducing this fantasy gameplay element, this game received a fresh, fun idea of resetting your dialogue choices and seeing outcome without needing to reload the save. Not only that, but this ability is unique in fact that while Max, the protagonist, can rewind time at will, she'll stay at one place, and knowing this fact is crucial in several moments of the story (I admit I spent a quite bit of time in front of principal's office room). On the other hand, it was a bit stupid when you think about how Max was exposing herself to danger (even if she was able to rewind time, she was already in dangerous place and it wouldn't help her escape - in reality, she should stay in touch with her friend Chloe while she was doing the dirty work, and Max would be able to rewind time from safe place and then warn Chloe about upcoming danger, don't you think?). Another great thing about this game are collectibles. When most of us hear "Collectibles", rage and boredom ensues, following needing to follow the video walkthrough. But not in this game, as collectibles here are very fun to find by yourself, thanks to "Collectible mode" playing option and very subtle hints that makes this whole process absolutely NOT a chore. While the other half of the game was pretty tense, I felt annoyed a lot of choices didn't fit what I'd say in Max place (also the "nightmare" sequence felt pretty boring, unoriginal and unnecessary). I consider this game as technically better The Walking Dead, but less emotionally wrenching. But still gonna check other LIS games in the future. Oh, and last but not least, Max has birthday on the very same day as I. Life is strange, isn't it? Popular Post WayfarerFox
The Last of Us Part II #175 - Also a milestone! Time to Platinum: 50 Hours | Difficulty: 3/10 | Enjoyment: 10/10 So for this game, since it's still new and all that jazz. I will be posting all my thoughts in a spoiler tag. Mainly because it's kinda impossible to talk about this game without giving away any spoilers. I'll try and keep it spoiler free as possible. Spoiler Overview Set 4 years after the events of The Last of Us. You play as Ellie who embarks on a journey full of gut wrenching revenge. An act she witnesses sets in motion one of hell of a story of revenge, loss and pure hatred. This is not a game that has any happy feelings, Bar one section that is literally right near the end and is rather short lived. Don't go into this game expecting a tale of coming together like the first game. It's the absolute opposite of that. I cant say I've played a more depressing game in my entire life and that doesn't make it a bad thing. It makes it more realistic given the circumstances. It's the kind of stuff I'd fully expect to see in an apocalypse. Gameplay Gameplay, honestly isn't that much different than the first game. What's that old saying? If it ain't broke, don't fix it? There literally was nothing wrong with the first game in terms of gameplay. It's a lot smoother in the sequel and has a few new additions that are actually really handy. You can prone now which makes sneaking in some sections much easier. The game feels a lot more open now I guess you could say although still very linear. There's multiple ways to approach stuff and you can either choose to go loud and crazy or stealth and ninja. There's freedom there but not a whole lot but that's okay. More weapons to work with, you can add new attachments to guns and stuff. Like silencers on pistols, range finder on the bow. A whole lot of goodies. Customisation is great and you even see the animations where they tweak that part of the weapon as well which I thought was a really nice feautre. All in all, gameplay isn't much different but expanded on in a good way. Characters Okay this might take a little while but I'll probably just stick to the big characters since there is so many. So you have Ellie. If you've played the first you know Ellie. Much older now and a lot different than you know. She's not the quick, charming, sarcastic teenager she was back in the first. She's angry and I mean so much so that it consumes her very being. You see her snap easily, no mercy to anyone, wants to keep moving forward. She has to set things right. I understand that she wasn't going to be like she was in the first game it's understandable but that is the Ellie I prefer. Okay now Abby, she was consumed with rage before the events of this game. It was because what happened in the first game as to why she does what she did and why this epic sequel came around. I've seen so many people constantly judge the way she looks and she seems to be really muscly blah blah. It's annoying now. So what if she is. You set a goal, you want to get strong even if that goal is revenge you get it done and that's what she does. You can take the piss out of her all you like but she is a powerhouse and there's not denying it. They are the most important characters to the story honestly. Dina, Ellies love interest. A lot of people tried to throw the "Ellie is a lesbian because the company tried to be woke or this and that" blah blah. She was a lesbian in 2013 when Left Behind was released. People are so quick to give shit about things they don't understand. Anyway, Dina is a great character. She's sarcastic, loveable and she's got a great attitude towards everything from what I noticed. She accompanies Ellie on her journey and is there all the way to the end. There isn't much to say because the emphasis isn't on her really. She plays a huge part but you kinda don't really go deeper than the relationship when it comes to her. Owen and Mel. I'll be straight up honest about Mel. I didn't like her, she constantly blames Abby for everything. Owens actions, she hated what she did at the start of the game but she was there through it all and she just tried to point fingers all the time. Owen though. He was the positive one. I really liked Owen's character. He was always making jokes, trying to be the cool head of the group and literally was a great character. Shame you barely see him in it. There's a few more to talk about but I feel they are the more important ones. There are other important ones too but I really don't want to go into ridiculous spoiler territory as I'll be here all night seriously.. Trophies Trophies are really simple. I think 90% of them are collectable related. I did my first play through without a guide then I followed a guide on my play through clean up. If you want a great guide. Follow my friends nicely done one. It's @Bushido_Cypher on you tube. He pinpoints where everything is and when to exactly get them. He likes to keep it entertaining as well which he does a great job of. The other trophies just consist of beating the game. Upgrading the weapons. It really is a simple trophy list. Conclusion So initially I was on the fence of buying this game. I saw a couple of the leaks especially the huge one related to why Ellie goes on this epic journey. I then was told by @Mayellie that I should get it regardless and make my own opinion of the game as that's the only opinion that matters. I'm so glad I took her advice because it ended up being one of my favourite games. The leaks just before the game don't even justify half of the story that goes on in the game. I honestly had so much more to say on the game and it's characters but I literally don't feel like writing a full game review. It's such a long game and there's so much going on, on top of the the main story arc. I don't think the team at ND deserved a lot of the hate they got. There were some sections I didn't really like but that's to be expected. The pacing is a little funny in some places as well but overall it's a great game. I think people try and bring politics into the games more often because of characters like Lev, the size of Abbys arms, Ellie being a lesbian. This that the other and honestly. Those kind of things are what make this game great. Honestly by the end of this game I felt sick. Not because it bored me or because of how gruesome it was. Literally because there is no good ending. There is no happy story, It's just one big pile of revenge and unleashed on us all. So @MayellieIm really grateful you gave me the push to play this game. I think i'd probably still be on the fence otherwise. I liked it so much I ended up making it a milestone as well. I've tried to keep what I've said as spoiler free as possible and only emphasised on a few things but there is so much more to see, know and do in the game that it really would take a long time write everything. From now on, I'm not listening to anyones opinions on games bar my own because if I did I would of missed out on this masterpiece.
Popular Post yellowwindow7
The Little Acre / The Little Acre i had fun speed running through this point n click adventure game, specially on my alt accounts after i first plat it on my main account, and this is coming from a person whose despise speedrun trophies so much, this game is fun but super short, the speed run trophy even ask you to beat the game in less than a hour, you can even do the two time wasting trophies Blind goes up! and Wibble Wobble and still can get the speedrun trophy The Little Speedrun. since this game is a point n click it focus heavily on the story driving nature, so this is a good excuse to not talks too much and spoil it and i'm gonna keep this short, i liked the musics, animations and voice acting especially Marr's, the part where you have to make the breakfast and the part with the guard at the dam and the cat was among the cutest and funniest and my personal favorite parts in the whole game. my only take on this game is how very short it is, i recommend it to point and click lovers and people who wants a less than a hour platinum trophy, though pick it up if you found it at $5 or at least $8 or something like that, you'll gonna be disappointed with it if you pick it up at $10 or $15. StressEater
I just finished Saints Row The Third Remastered. It's been awhile but I thought that it was a lot better than what it was. The game was fun at times, but it did start to feel like a chore during the grinding part of the platinum. The challenge's were a real headache and I almost had to do a second playthrough for the STAG vehicle during the auto thefts. I actually was so ready to be done playing it that I didn't even bother to finish all the DLC.

My rarest platinum yet!! I enjoyed this game a lot and it is a love letter to any transformers fan. The hardest trophy is to get SS Rank on Commander, otherwise not so bad of a platinum.
Popular Post TwilightSpira
PLATINUM 232 - PERSONA 5 : DANCING IN STARLIGHT I won’t lie, when I see a rhythm game, the first thing that comes to mind is the horrific and painful ice cream minigame from one of my favourite games ever, birth by sleep. Nightmares aside, dancing in starlight was actually tons of fun; watching the phantom thieves strut and spin on the dance floor was such a delight. Furthermore the game was another chance to revisit the world of one of the best rpgs ever made.
BushidoCypher
4 hours ago, ImmortalFox- said: The Last of Us Part II #175 - Also a milestone! Hide contents Overview Set 4 years after the events of The Last of Us. Congrats legend! Appreciate the shout out as well
