Popular Post Duffcar
#164 - Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Not a platinum I ever thought would be added to my collection but thanks to a dedicated group found in the Gaming Sessions I was able to achieve the dreaded Infallible trophy with the introduction of Squads Mode in April. Then in was a matter of working towards the 20 race and episode wins whilst waiting on a legendary pattern to drop in the store. Overall a fantastic game to spend time with and easy to fall into for any gamer in my opinion.

Popular Post mikeygjr007
Platinum Number 84: Wreckfest Master of Crashes This was a fun pallet cleanser of a platinum (especially after Resident Evil 8) It went by in around 3 play sessions and was pretty enjoyable the whole way through. Kinda wish it had more music, I think I heard the same like 5-6 songs over and over. But the driving and crashing was good and the silly vehicles made it entertaining! Next up is continuing the grind on Nier Replicant and Battlefield V!
Popular Post Arcesius
Splasher The Pitch A colorful platformer with a heavy emphasis on speedrunning is a good description for Splasher, a challenging game that will have you shoot bouncy ink at walls and covering enemies with sticky ink on a quest to save your fellow comrades and stand up to the greedy Docteur! The Best Splasher is a fast paced platformer with a focus around speedrunning. As such, one would expect levels that go in hand with that type of gameplay. And that's precisely what you find here, and it is extremely well done. Instead of the precision-platforming found in other challenging platformers such as Super Meat Boy or Celeste, Splasher gives you a bit more leniency in this aspect, which makes it extremely fun to rush through its levels, trying to shave off miliseconds off your PB ? The game introduces the three types of ink as you progress in the game. Already at the end of the first stage you gain access to the "water" gun, which is mostly used to kill enemies (though not ALL enemies can be killed with it), activate contraptions, and remove ink from most surfaces. It is not until stage 6 that you gain access to the "sticky ink", which can be used to climb up walls or walk on the ceiling, disable enemies, etc... And after stage 14 you also gain access to the "sticky ink", which allows you to bounce off a surface and reach places that you cannot reach with regular jumps. A good example of a level where all three types of "ink" come into play is the following one: Now, only because you don't have access to all types of ink from the start doesn't mean that they are not used EVERYWHERE. There are cannons placed in most levels that shoot different types of ink, so you learn how to deal with different surfaces from the very beginning. It's genious! ? Furthermore, levels feature multiple checkpoints. The hazards and contraptions for the current section start "moving" when you activate the checkpoint at its start. This further encourages keeping a fast pace, since hazards repeat in "cycles". Most of those levels can be beaten in one go, without having to pause at any point. That can be seen in the video above as well. But if you mess up and get out of sync with the current cycle, you might need to wait a bit, ultimately resulting in a timeloss that, if you are going for the time attacks, you simply cannot afford ? It is fantastic level design with great and unique gameplay, and the mechanics encourage playing the game as it is meant to be played. What more can you want from a platformer? ? The Worst The OST... Ffs, such an uninspired list of tracks... Granted, it is not my style of music, but neither is what Furi features and I find that OST to be incredibly fitting and motivating. It's boring electronic background-music that does not really help in keeping engaged with the game ? I would play with my TV sound at 1 for most of the game. Why not shut it off entirely? Well, because there are certain effects and sound clues that are actually important to listen out for. For example, certain levels feature lasers that do not kill you immediately. Instead, they emit a specific sound that tells you when they are about to activate. Meh... ? The Challenge Ah, not even sub-1%... GG EZ game. ? H O L Y F U C K. Don't get me wrong.. I knew it would be the toughest challenge I had to overcome to date.. I wrote so when I announced that I would be tackling this game... But man... Completing this game was tough. I started with a casual playthrough and getting all misc trophies, which is already the majority of the trophy list. Afterwards I tackled the challenges the game threw at me, which are: Time Attack: Each of the 22 levels featured in the game can be speedrun in time attack mode, where you are awarded with a medal depending on your time. While the bronze, silver and gold medal times are known from the start, there is a hidden "platinum" medal that needs to be earned as well if you want to complete the trophy list. These time requirements are INSANELY tight. We are talking about missing the time or beating the requirements by hundredths / thousands of a second... No, seriously! You see that? You see how tight these runs can be? ? However, not once did I put the controller down in frustration. Beating these times was the most fun I had with the game by far. So satisfying! Speedrun: The game also features three full-game speedruns for which you also need to beat the platinum medal. They are the "Selfish" run, equivalent to an any% run, the "Standard" run, which has you collect 80/156 collectibles, and the "Gotta Catch'em All" run, which is a 100% run. These... were all incredibly tough to beat for me. I cannot really say how long they took me each, but it was many, many hours. Not only are the time requirements insanely tight, so that you are really not allowed to make too many mistakes, but each run also forces you to learn a new route. Especially for the 100% run you need to pretty much learn the entire game.. Where to get all collectibles and how to get them optimally, how to tackle the Quarantene zones (special challenge rooms that reward you with a collectible), all while maintaining a fast pace and spraying all walls covered in "gold". You see, at the end of a level, there is a final collectible that you can only get if you have collected 700 drops of gold. There is nothing more disheartening than finishing a level in the later half of the run just to notice that you are missing 1-2 drops of gold and you need to play the entire level again... You cannot afford a timeloss like that. No-Death run: Yeah, you are required to play all 22 levels back to back, without dying. This takes upwards of 45 minutes, but luckily there is no time constraint. Surprisingly enough, it only took me 4 attempts to get this one done. I died on level 19/22, 21/22, 16/22 on my first three atempts, so really can't complain. Still, many argue that this is the hardest challenge in the game, mainly due to ink sometimes not shooting... I feel very fortunate that I didn't experience such lag. Yeah... This was a tough one. Probably the most challenging trophy list I've completed to date. But a fantastic, and very fun, satisfying game to complete!

Popular Post Viper
#230 Marvel's Avengers Omega Level Accomplishment So first and foremost it has to be said......this is NOT as bad of a game and everyone keeps saying. In fact, other than the grind to 50 Hives, I actually really enjoyed it. There's some things that are left to be desired, but overall this was a really solid game, every hero manages to feel unique and like themselves....however not all of them feel as useful based on how you play. I ended up maining Thor, it's just how it ended up I didn't really choose to...he just ended up being the highest level at one point so I kept using him. And after however many hours I put into this, I still find him to be the best character once fully upgraded. He has the best all around move set, IMO. From his Mjolnir attacks having insane combo damage, to being able to pin enemies to surfaces with Mjolnir, to his Heroic power attacks having incredible crowd control, plus he can fly (which helps a lot with traversal through bigger maps), and his parry attack doubles as a power up as well...it's so much so that everyone else feels like they're lacking something. But everyone is fun to play as in their own right. Though Hulk might be the most disappointing...which is strange because he was my favorite to use back in the open beta, but here in the main game he just feels extremely weak, I don't expect him to feel invincible...but he relies too much on rage burst, and goes down way too fast. The story, I thought, was really good if not a bit cliche...we've seen it before. Something happens, team breaks up, unlikely hero has to bring them back together, all heroes are reluctant and bitching at one another, but come together in the end of the greater good. Still though, it was the highlight of the game for me...the endgame War Table stuff is the meat of where you'll spend your time, as you'll have to grind out 50 Hives (horde mode like events where you have to clear out several floors of enemies, they can take as much as 30 minutes to complete ONE of them), 30 Missions at Challenge 3 or 4, you have to get enough heroes leveled up to reach a max combined level of 250 (which means 5 characters need to be at level 50, or 3 of them at 50 and the rest are varying levels to reach that number), I got SUPER lucky here though as the trophy popped insanely early for me, Thor was the only one at 50 and combined we were only like level 146. So it's a lot of grinding with the Hives taking forever, and they're generally the most boring missions to do. I didn't play online much, as I think the matchmaking is terrible. In the beginning it kept pairing me with high level players, and from what I can tell, no matter what the highest level player is the host...so I'd have a power level of 76 paired with people at 130 and I couldn't contribute, I'd go down in one hit....it ends up just being them reviving me the whole time. Definitely play with your friends if you want to play with someone...so 99% of the game was done solo. Overall, I had fun with it...it's no GOTY candidate, but I don't think it deserves the flak it's received. I'll come back to it when Black Panther drops.

DaveMcDamage
Star Wars: The Fallen Order. Not the best game, but not the worst either. Much like the original Assassin's Creed, it felt like a tech demo but with tonnes of potential for the future. If not for a sequel, then for the devs themselves.

Popular Post whodeygamer
#11: Shenmue Being one of the more beloved games on the Dreamcast, I've wanted to be able to play this game for a long time. With this being the definitive version and it being on sale alongside the sequel, I decided to buy them. After playing the first one, I honestly have mixed feelings. One one hand, it was a game that was truly ahead of it's time in a number of ways, including having a day and night system and changing weather to make it seem more realistic. On the other hand, it has terrible controls for the most part, there's very little combat until late in the game, the voice acting is laughably awful, and it was the first video game to have quicktime events, something I've personally never cared for. At some point, I'll play Shenmue 2 to see if I like it more than the first, but I personally think the first one has not aged well.

Popular Post Starrk_01
Plat #191: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled (PS4) A plat that I wouldn't have thought I would get. When I started hard mode and got blown out in the first race at Crash Cove I initially thought that I would never get this plat. However, with practice (and a break from the game) I was able to beat that race and then slowly continue onto hard mode. Same thing with the time trials, put in enough practice and eventually things get easier. I was pleasantly surprised that time trials didn't take me longer to do (around a month) given that I heard so much about the difficulty of some of the tracks (I'm looking at you Dragon Mines). This plat gave me so much excitement since RDR2 last fall.
Popular Post Cal
Mass Effect 2 Legendary Edition Platinum 52 No matter how many times I play this I still get nervous about the suicide mission, still my favourite game out of the trilogy now running even better and crisper just like the first game the trophies are pretty easy to get. You can get them all in just one playthrough and it's nice to have all that DLC that I didn't get to play before, on to Mass Effect 3! Popular Post Deluziion90
#409 - Biomutant Biomutant Platinum TrophyUnlock every Trophy in Biomutant Fun: 6.8/10 ? Difficulty 3/10 Total platinum time ~25hrs Lets talk about The Good - Beautiful environment. Not a single part I didn't like - Character customization is really fun. In the end my character looked like a Commando with a NBA helmet and a bigass 2hander. - RPG element is good but also bad. The good part is it's really up to you how you like to play. Though magic doesn't really seem to work that well so I choose my style like all rpg's Strenght+vitality+huge weapons - Platinum is really easy but 1 trophy is bugged. Thankfully after reinstalling the game on 1.00 the trophy was achievable in 1hr as confirmed by PowerPyx on this guide. The Bad - The Narrator is beyond annoying. He keeps talking even when you turn down how frequent he talks. It says everything when there's an option in the menu to make him talk less. - Absolute no chemistry with other characters you meet. They all say the same stuff over and over and to make it worse they all talk like it's Banjo Kazooie/Yooka Laylee after the weird talking the damn narrator stars translating what they say. - So talking with other characters takes forever and is just plain annoying. It took me <10hrs when I just spamskipped all dialogue as I just couldn't care anymore. Kill 4 world eaters and save the world is all I needed to know tbh. - World feels EMPTY really dead and empty. It's not something I disliked as it's not an ubisoft map filled with trash to collect so I was ok with this. Though I can understand people dislike this part. - RPG element was good but here's the bad part. After around 15-18hrs my char was STRONG. So strong I just didn't need any upgrades anymore so looting houses and finding new armor wasn't worth my time anymore. This made me rush the game even more. Skipping dialogue and also not looting stuff doesn't feel like an RPG anymore. Verdict First of all not worth €55,00 I paid for this. I would say 30 is the maximum for this game. It's in a rough state and like many people who review this game on youtube they all feel like the devs have a lot of spirit and passion for this game but for a small studio they tried way to hard to reach that AAA status. Overall rating 6/10 as I'm a sucker for open world games.
