Popular Post TwilightSpira
PLATINUM 241 - DARK SOULS : REMASTERED After a rough 2020, all I have to say is that I had to start a new year with one my favourite series ever. Dark Souls still is one heck of a game, this remastered version in particular was really well done and I deeply recommend to anyone that didn't for some reason play it yet. Lastly I really want to add that I'm still ongoing on a Souls journey, I'm still replaying Dark Souls 3 (my favourite in the trilogy), Demon Soul's PS5 and bloodborne. However here comes the 1 million question, back in 2015 I bought Dark Souls 2 PS3 and PS4 version and I only played the latter, should I plug the old PS3 back and wrap the whole series? Here is the proof for those that want to praise the sun alongside me!!! Popular Post Piggie_Pie
#89 Demon's Souls Remake The first time I played Demon's Souls on the PS3 I refused to play it alone. It was dark... It was scary... and I died a lot! Luckily my friend Skidmarkgn was there to save the day. He got me through it and even dropped some of the items that helped me get the platinum. Fast forward to today... I have 4 or 5 Souls/Borne games under my belt and I truly enjoy them now. Demon's Souls Remake is truly an amazing game. the load times alone were insane! I remember waiting minutes for load times on the PS3... PS5 however would load something within 3 seconds! The first time I experienced this my jaw dropped. Visually, it's the best of the Souls/Borne games. The only gripe I could muster up on this Remake is if you played the original on the PS3 there's not anything new to discover Spoiler (outside of Fractured Mode) . It would be nice if they added some new content in a DLC of some kind but really, that's not a gripe at all... just me wishing there was more to play, lol.
Popular Post sk_lp_him
#82 - Unravel The Red thread Collect all trophies This game taught me what I already know - I suck at platformers. The guide says it's 3/10 difficulty but for me it's easily 4-5/10. There are some really frustrating parts for the no-death runs even in early levels. I'm glad I finished it.

When I saw the game on sale I just knew I had to get it, as I was hearing some great things about the game. I definitely didn't regret it as I had a joy playing through the game and figuring out the puzzle. Would recommend!
Popular Post Angel
The Walking Dead The Final Season Platinum #155 Truly sad for this to be the final season and the end of Clementine's story. Such an emotional roller coaster throughout the whole series of games and I'm happy that I got to experience this with my sister as we both experienced Clem growing up with all TWD games. I loved AJ so much in this game too, he reminds me so much of my little brother with understanding the huge responsibility that Clem has on wether she is doing what's best for him (of course without the huge added stress of walkers roaming around lol ). Having to raise both my siblings on my own is tough at times but they are truly my motivation in life and what's keeping me stronghearted! ? This is also my first platinum of 2021, hope there will be many more in the future as well as hoping a much better year for all us! Things might get worst before it gets better but never lose hope and always know you are not alone. Thank you for your time as always, wishing you my best, and best of luck on your next platinum!

Popular Post Ghost
Total playtime: 44 hours Platinum trophy image: Spoiler My first platinum for 2021. I'm now a fan of Cuphead and when the news broke out that it was releasing on PS4, it was one of the best news of 2020 for me because back in 2017, the devs said it wouldn't come to PS4. I'm glad that changed. It was a game I absolutely loved and hated at the same time due to the challenges of the bosses, but it felt great to beat all the hard ones. The run and gun levels were fun as well. I didn't have much of an issue getting the Pacifist trophy. The top 5 hardest bosses for me on expert were: 1. The Devil 2. Dr. Kahl's Robot 3. King Dice 4. Wally Marbles 5. Captain Brineybeard I look forward to the Netflix animated series and what's next for Studio MDHR. Yoey_666
#404 - Wreckfest Very boring and repetetive grind at the end, but overall a fun experience. Gave me good old Destruction Derby vibes.
Popular Post StraightVege
The Horned Boy #252 Whether it's the compelling implicit story, which had me theorizing for weeks, the breathtakingly gorgeous world that filled me with a wistful sense of loneliness, or the unique puzzle-platforming boss design unlike anything I'd experienced before, there's so much I could say about one of my all-time favorite games. By now, I've probably played through SotC literally dozens of times across the various versions, yet I never seem to grow tired of spending hours in the Forbidden Lands. As usual, Bluepoint did outstanding work in giving this classic a beautiful makeover and tuning up the controls, while staying true to the original, making it the definitive version of SotC for me. Despite it being so long ago, I can still recall the moment when I first realized how morally horrendous Wander's actions are, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Over 15 years later, the guilt and sadness I feel when the gargantuan creatures topple over hasn't dissipated. I've always considered SotC one of the best examples of a "play as the bad guy" game, because of how subtle it is—Wander isn't some screaming demigod, ripping civilians apart for health orbs; he's simply a flawed person, unable to accept the loss of a loved one, who embarks on a selfish quest to bring her back at any cost. It's easy to sympathize with him, as he shows incredible bravery, determination, and vulnerability in the process, which draws your attention away from the fact that Spoiler he's ultimately murdering innocent beings at the request of a potentially malevolent deity. I've heard many people claim that it's overrated, and I can understand that point of view: some folks just can't tolerate the controls and mechanics, or they find the lack of traditional enemies in the environment boring. Boss behavior is inconsistent, Wander randomly stumbles all over the place, and the horse Al can be terribly stubborn, resulting in some truly infuriating moments. The long trips to some colossi locations ARE tedious, too. I'm able to overlook these, and even accept that the game is intended to feel like a struggle, but it's not for everyone. For what it's worth, this remaster is the easiest, most playable version, so maybe give it a try if you didn't get along with the PS2 or PS3 incarnations. There's some intangible factor to SotC's world that keeps me forever enthralled, in a way no other game has quite managed to replicate (although the Souls series comes close). It was unparalleled in almost every aspect when it originally released, and its influence can be seen even in modern titles. I still consider it among the strongest proof that games can be art. After this, my interest in playing "The Last Guardian" has been rekindled, flaws be damned, so I'll probably get on that sometime soon. Fumito Ueda and his development team are one in a million. Popular Post DamagingRob
#500- Final Fantasy IX Heroes of Gaia Collect all trophies. It took me a long time to decide what I wanted #500 to be. Which I'm not exactly sure why, since I think I said this was a good possibility to someone awhile back. Guess it just slipped my mind. I also didn't own it until this latest sale, so that may have been part of why I wasn't considering it earlier (too cheap to pay full price). But yeah, now I have the entire PS1 trilogy as milestones. Considering the amount of times I restarted them all as a teenager, and played until I couldn't get any further, this feels right. I eventually did finish them all, mind you. Just years later on the PS3/Vita. ? And now I've bought all 3, 3 times each. Outstanding games from my childhood. Mostly an easyish trophy list, except for the dreaded 1,000 jump rope one.. I didn't get very far legit. ? But had I practiced as long as I messed around with the script, maybe I would have. A real struggle to get that working to perfection on my end. Then there was the 10,000 kills trophy, which is just a ludicrous amount. Turboed for about 16 hours to achieve it. :/ So yeah, FF9 probably needs no introduction. A classic JRPG, and while not my personal fav, I think it has the most emotional ending. Definitely didn't shed tears again. No, sir. Some a-hole was cutting onions outside my window. Forget it's the middle of winter, and no way would my window be open. Nor would anyone be outside cutting onions. Platinum image: Spoiler What a shame it's a menu screen. Don't get to see Blank, Zidane, and the lifeless corpses of Vivi and Steiner.
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #575: Difficulty: 2/10 Playtime: 4-5 hours Enjoyment: 7.5/10 In the quaint little town of Darkestville--famous for being a touch darker than Darkville or Darkerville--there lives a skellington demon man named Cid (no, he doesn't own or operate an airship), who, when he isn't off winning 4th prize in tri-state Haytham Kenway cosplay competitions, terrifies the townsfolk with delightfully devilish japes, pranks, and other assorted jackanapes. Through the vicissitudes of fate, he ends up unleashing a horde of infinitely more terrifying--and, let's face it, infinitely less ineffectual--demons unto our mortal plane... and by way of the time-honored tradition of obscure puzzles and unfettered kleptomania, he must travel to the depths of the Underworld to save everyone... because he'll be damned if anyone terrorizes folks but him! So it's a pretty crackin' good adventure game, all told. Even in the oeuvre of throwback point and clickers, all too rarely emulated is the distinctively lush asymmetrical art style of Curse of Monkey Island (the objectively best MI, as we can all agree), and the end results verge on the impressive for such a small dev team. And that's not all, COMI's indomitably chill vibes are also reflected in the reggae-inflected (if slightly spookified) soundtrack. The writing is just about sharp enough, even if a few jokes fall kind of flat and/or repeat themselves. They don't overdo it with references, be they pop cultural or metatextual. The main focus rests on highlighting character quirks, and a distinctively off-beat and unpredictable sense of humor. We definitely coexist on the same creative wavelength, as I found myself pleasantly surprised with how often my brain would concoct some punchline or other, and the game would arrive at the same exact result. That's the kind of synergy you can't buy. And it's all enhanced by a great voice cast, with particular praise going to Mr. Stephanos Rex (if that is indeed his real name) for not only putting in a shift with the main character, but an eye-watering 20+ others! A really high benchmark of quality; indie or no, it can't be denied. Somewhat patchy and anticlimactic storytelling aside, it's just got this intangible winsome quality that is truly evocative of days long past. The developers' love, passion, and knowledge of the genre is evident from the word go, and though slightly derivative, it never becomes a crutch or a source of creative laziness, as can so easily occur. Just read the game's description on the PS Store and see if you don't feel at least a little bit enticed to buy it. It's even a quick and fulfilling trophy hunt on top of everything else, so be ye a devotee of this hallowed art form or no, it's a good investment that'll be going to talented people. For my own part, this as a self-styled historian and curator of everything adventure gamey, this has my gubernatorial stamp of approval!

Guest
Ratchet & Clank (2002) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 without R.Y.N.O., 2/10 with it One of Playstation's classics has aged relatively well. Pros: -Still a very fun action-platformer, despite some controls being pretty stiff. -Certain worlds are still genuinely gorgeous due to the colors and vibrancy. -The different weapons and gadgets do change up combat enough to remain engaging -Interesting and entertaining characters -Collectibles are fun to collect Cons: The Clank-only levels are either boring or unfun, or a mixture of the two. -Some worlds seemed like filler and felt as if they were put there solely to make it so the game had more planets/areas, making it seem like a bigger game than it really is. These usually ended up being the destroyed-and-rainy worlds. -I will stand by the fact that the final boss (and the final bosses to the next two if memory is correct), without the R.Y.N.O, is a brutal difficulty spike and little more than a bullet sponge. -Small complaint, but it is a bit annoying that you can't track how many skill points you've gotten, and therefore which ones you've done, until NG+. This is mainly because I had 2 missing (thought it was just one before I checked) and didn't know which ones, so I had to go into NG+ on a different save file just to see which ones. TL;DR: The original has aged very well, despite some janky controls, Clank-only levels, and uninspired (arguably filler) worlds.
Popular Post GarciaFever
#207 Ratchet & Clank (PS4) I haven't played a Ratchet & Clank game in a very long time. It was ok, but then I remember that once you played one, you've pretty much played them all. I thought that the grind for getting all weapons to level 10 was going to be long, but I managed to get them done within 2 hours. At least I am getting closer to reaching 90% completion on my profile.
