Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#336 - Crossing Souls An adventure game with several puzzles and a shitload of platforming and 80s references. Tons of games have had 80s references in the past and the gameplay itself is janky as hell. Enjoyment: 6 Difficulty: 3.5

Popular Post Phlegeth
#26 Ultimate Shifter Collected every trophy. The challenges seemed a lot easier to gold than in the first game. That was going to be the thing that was going to stop me. When I did the final challenge and looked, I only had three silvers and two of those were from the beginning before I had any powers. The other thing was waiting on the Giant Nevi to spawn at Site 13. Of course the one I couldn't find spawns at the same time as the daily reset for FFXIV. And that ending fight. That was crazy. I think that was the first time you've ever seen Kat pissed. Picture taken before disaster strikes. Spoiler

Popular Post TheFalseDeity
#49 - Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness Warden of the Stars Obtain all trophies. Nothing much to say on enjoyment front. I found it mediocre at best across the board. It is an easy UR plat though if a tad lengthy. Theres a role that grants invincibility making even the hardest difficulty pretty easy and you can also build gear to spam ultimate attacks with ease on top of it.
Popular Post Vrisnem
Memories Returned Amnesia: Memories Not my most impressive plat but I ended up enjoying this game a lot more than I thought I would. It's making me think I should go through my PS+ library and see if there are any other gems tucked away in there I've overlooked. I expected this game to be OTT sweet and cringe-y, and at times it was, but it took much darker turns than I expected and those turns were right up my alley. After playing through all the routes I learned that apparently most peoples favourite character (Kent) was the one I found utterly boring - which is amusing given that his story paralleled my own these past few months (STEM nerd trying to secure a position overseas). Everyone else was more fun and exciting and the crazier they behaved the more I enjoyed it. It was also a great way to pass time when waiting in dungeon queues and through MSQ duty cutscenes in FFXIV. Now to browse the sales for a new Vita game.

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#337 - YomawarI: Night Alone This could've been such a great game. Visuals are great and the story is interesting. Then there's the unfortunate gameplay. While it's good enough for the most part, some key aspects in the mechanics ruin it. Stamina is a double handicap, as it doesn't only decrease when you run, but also decreases faster and recovers slower when near enemies that you need to run a way from. It just feels cheap. Then there's also the issues with collectibles and items only showing up when you use the flashlight, which more often than not you're encouraged not to use as it attracts some enemies. There's also the map, which is cool in concept (it's like a kids drawing) but is impractical as hell to use and navigate. Popular Post Desmuria
#141 - Code: Realize - Guardian of Rebirth C: R Master Obtain all trophies Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 I have already played Code: Realize - Bouquet of Rainbows on my PS4, which has Guardian of Rebirth and Future Blessings combined. After discovering that these games have entirely separate trophy lists, I decided to wait until they both went on sale and stack the platinums. So, here we are! I enjoyed these VNs a lot and they kinda reminded me of Period Cube: Shackles of Amadeus, which I played recently. The characters are cute, well scripted and enjoyable to read. #142 - Code: Realize - Future Blessings Code: Realize ~FB~ Master Obtain all trophies Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 As above, I'd already played this VN as part of the Code: Realize - Bouquet of Rainbows bundle on my PS4. Played again, after buying in the sale, purely for stackable platinum trophies. I feel like such a trophy whore right now. I wouldn't have bought them again if I truly didn't appreciate the games, though - so I guess I feel somewhat better about my choice. Eagerly awaiting the English release of Code: Realize - Wintertide Miracles in February.

Popular Post Nostalgy_Flow
#60: Catherine Initially the game didn't convinced me much. It's a sort of Puzzle-Platform and Puzzle games in general aren't my thing, but after a bit of playing, I pretty much enjoyed it! I think the idea is really original, the gameplay is much more complex than you can think at first sight, because there are a lot of techniques and being able to master everything isn't that simple. For the rest I enjoyed the plot and I loved the characters too! Also the OST is gold, especially the bar songs and the one from Obelisk, probably my favorite track of the game. Platinum quite challenging, but with insistence and patience isn't impossible, indeed. For the golds on Hard and the Rapunzel minigame, you can follow a guide in complete tranquility, because the levels are always the same. The stages with bosses however (especially the last two levels of the game) are a bit random, and although you follow a guide, sometimes things won't go as you want. The real obstacle to the Catherine plat is undoubtedly Babel, mode where the stage is randomly generated and therefore, you can't totally rely on the guide. However, even though they're random, I noticed that the patterns of the blocks are the same, sometimes. So it may be still useful to watch some videos, to see how others deal with the various situations. Worst stage for me was Obelisk, the most random level because of those infamous random blocks and bombs. Axis Mundi instead strangely didn't give me any problem, done it in about an hour. Btw, I absolutely reccomend doing all the levels in Pair Mode with the double controller, since you have fewer steps to do. You can even use the two controllers by yourself like I did, but sure, if you have someone who helps you it's better.

Popular Post TugaSonic
#107 - Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD (PS3) Vic Boss (Current Rarity: 6.78% on PSNProfiles) Obtained every trophy. Bought the Metal Gear Solid Collection a few months back but left Peace Walker since it had online trophies and I didn't know if the online was still working at the time. Finally decided to play it and I have to say that it's not my favourite of the franchise. I like how the story is told using a comic book art style and I enjoyed playing through it but the bosses on this game are really annoying and boring specially at the start. At the start, you have shit equipment so while you can technically stealth through the vehicle bosses (which are tedious since you have to defeat enemy waves of 4 and each wave take a long while to appear), the IA weapons are another case. I had a hard time since I did low damage and sometimes I got worried I'd run out of ammo. I know the game was made with Co-op in mind but the way it is, when you start the game and until you develop better equipment it feels like you're just a kid asking an adult (the co-op partner) to play the game for you. Also, kinda happy that the last trophy that I unlocked for the platinum was the get 50 game over screens when I never played the game before (guess getting the platinum in MGS2, MGS3 and playing MGS5 helped a lot). For now, I'm going to take a break from the franchise and play some Tomb Raider (found the PS3 Trilogy game on a second-hand store) then I'll try going for the platinum in MGS4.

Popular Post Jelloycat
Platinum #68: Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony After finally getting around to playing this one I really enjoyed it! The twists and turns, especially at the end, were very Danganronpa. It had some great characters as well. (Especially Kaede and Maki! ) I didn't mind the Despair Dungeon too much. It was actually a pretty interesting little minigame, but the Monolithic minigame was the absolute worst. I could pass on ever playing that one again.

Popular Post Mesopithecus
#147. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 This has become my favorite Kingdom Hearts game, everything from the story, the classic Disney worlds, the battle system and even the mini-games. I thoroughly enjoyed it right to the end. I'm not sure if I just had an easier time than most, but I actually found this easier than KH2. It's surprising as after I loathed CoM, I had very low expectations for BBS. As an unpopular opinion, Terra is actually my favorite character
Popular Post Dauersack
#19: Uncharted 2 Among Thieves Remastered Uncharted 2 was better in many ways than Uncharted 1, but downright dangerous to my blood pressure in other areas to make up for it. Playing this game on crushing difficulty was as frustrating as playing Uncharted 1 on brutal difficulty, which is saying something because Uncharted 1 was actually fun on crushing. The climbing sections were much more fun than in the first one, the story was fine even though it was very generic with its big evil russian antagonist and the same out of the left field supernatural stuff near the end that plagued the first game. The sections were mostly alright, not counting the crappy train section, and the views you would get were awesome. What pissed me off was the enemy types, and especially the 1/10 boss fights that do not live up to the rest of the game at all, truly a misery to play through on crushing difficulty. Whats left for 100% is a full game speedrun, which does not sound all that appealing given the tight time limit and many death traps this game has, and of course the dreaded brutal difficulty run that already was bullshit in the first game. Since I am currently working on the massive grindfest that is supposed to be my 20th platinum anyway, I have no problem to put this game on hold again for the time being. Later I will 100% this, even if it kills me, and then most likely move on to Uncharted 3 at some point. Popular Post Masamune
Master of the Royal Library Acquire all trophies. Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 6.5/10 Playtime: 59:17:06 (1 week, 5 days, 4 hours) Screenshot: Spoiler Here's another one that wasn't as good as expected... It's not the worst DRPG I've played, but it is on the lower end. ? Combat can be very tedious in this game, the amount of status ailments you get hit with is ridiculous (I was having to cast Circle Nurse after almost every battle towards the end). & the boss fights are absolutely horrible, being high level & having top tier equipment is just half of getting through them... the other half is just pure luck that they don't spam some overpowered attack that one-shots half your party. One boss fight I managed to beat on the first try, in just a few turns... however I was at my item limit & lost out on her drop (yeah, the item limit sucks in this game too), so I figured I'd reload my game & do it again so I wouldn't lose out on it (you know, since it was so easy)... That was a horrible mistake I made, it took me probably 15-20 tries after that to beat her again (I guess I had the luck of the Gods with me the first time). Oh, & if you're wondering, the item I ended up getting after all this trouble turned out the be crap. There is one thing this game did right though, & that was the job system. If you chose the wrong path & want to change it later, you can reset your level to certain points & pick something else. That's very useful as some of the classes get much better towards the later half of the game, & you don't even lose any points as long as you wait till the level checkpoints to do so (Lv15, Lv30, Lv50). Overall the trophies are mostly automatic, just playing through the main story will get you most of them. By the time you clear the game, the only one you'll probably be missing is the trophy for 20K kills, you'll probably be just around 5K at that point. They say you can get that trophy naturally just by playing through the post-game, but I didn't have the patience for that, so I just farmed trash mobs until I hit 20K (took about 11 hours). I started with 2 characters at Lv50 & by the time I was done, both of them were almost Lv70 (& I was only fighting Lv10 enemies). ?
