Truly, you push the limits of perfection and continue to surprise everyone. My admiration for many of the guides is so great that selecting only two representatives for each category feels more than unfair. I can't mention how many times I went through different guides trying to find factors that could make my decision easier, but I definitely couldn't find any. Therefore, I want you all to know that just reaching this stage is a testament that he guides you crafted with such skill and passion are truly among the best this site has seen, so you can be immensely proud for all your effort, knowing that it is well recognized and valued. You all did well! Congratulations to you all! While I have selected my top two choices based on specific criteria, it's important to acknowledge that the decision was by no means easy. Thus, In the spirit of celebrating the collective excellence in this community, I'd like to extend appreciation to a few honorable mentions too (because I feel very guilty of only selecting two). These guides, along all the others, although not part of my final selection, stood out for their remarkable content and unique perspectives. I hope my choices and mentions reflect the high regard I hold for the incredible work of each and every one of you the writers involved. I look forward to the continued excellence in the world of trophy and gameplay guides! Having said that, these are my picks with my comments: Exceptional Trophy Guides: This category had excellent guides, and I really liked the format, content, and structure in all of them, definitely a category where selecting only two doesn't seem right 😭. 1. Hogwarts Legacy Trophy Guide - I believe this guide did everything right: great content, excellent formatting, and effective use of original and personal content from the creators. I can't praise the work of all the people involved in its creation enough! 2. Sunless Skies Trophy Guide - Since its publication, I've praised the format and colors, and the fact that despite containing ample information, it doesn't feel overwhelming (even if you have not played the game). It truly stands out as a great guide! Very Honorable mentions: Like a Dragon: Ishin! Trophy Guide - Great work! Very detailed! Lost Judgment Trophy Guide - A lot of content and detail! it broke my bandwidth twice xD! Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Trophy Guide - Great format and use of original resources throughout! Tactics Ogre: Reborn Trophy Guide - Very tidy guide with great content, and the tips section is very helpful! Exceptional DLC Guides: 1. Crypt of the NecroDancer - Amplified DLC Trophy Guide - Overall, the content and format are impeccable. Amazing work! 2. Streets of Rage 4 - Mr. X Nightmare DLC Trophy Guide - There is a lot information and work put into each section that I sometimes forget this is a DLC guide! Very Honorable mentions: Horizon Forbidden West - Burning Shores DLC Trophy Guide - I love the format and the structure of the guide. It is flawlessly crafted! Cyberpunk 2077 - Phantom Liberty DLC Trophy Guide - A very well structured guide. Also good use of own created videos! Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection - Very detailed! Same as the above, I praise the use of original content and videos! Exceptional Gameplay Guides: Personally, I think this category is the one that feels the most unfair when selecting only two choices. There isn't truly one guide that is better than another in terms of content and effort. I can't praise the authors of these guides enough! 1. Dead by Daylight - The 100% Dead By Daylight Guide - For a game with as many DLCs as Dead by Daylight (DBD), creating a single guide would seem impossible. Not for this author though! There is a great amount of work, ranging from strategies separated by characters and chapters to the fact that it continues to be updated. There's no way to comprehend the amount of time it must have taken to write it (and review it). 2. Persona 3 Portable - Ultimate 100% Walkthrough - Creating perfect schedules for the Persona series is a challenge, not only due to the time commitment required but also because Persona games aren't easy. However, this guide has managed to make this challenge feel surprisingly easy. It provides a wealth of strategies and recommendations that are incredibly helpful for planning each day of the schedule and catering to both characters. It's truly an amazing work! Very Honorable mentions: Borderlands 2 - A Vault Hunter's Diary - More than a guide, this is a testament to the passion, perseverance, and commitment to guide creation itself. I mean wow O_O! The Last of Us Part II - Platinum and DLC Guide - Amazing format and very detailed content! Final Fantasy VI - Pixel Remaster Walkthrough - A beautiful work of art, encompassing not just content and resources but also a soulful touch. It's truly delightful to the eyes Observer: System Redux - 100% Platinum Walkthrough - Very good detail and overall information! Grand Theft Auto V - Original Heist Walkthrough - Good format and content! Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society - Maps Guide - Truly unique! Red Dead Redemption - Modern Multiplayer Boosting - Very good amount of detail! Superliminal - 100% Trophy Walkthrough - Great walkthrough! Very helpful! Brok the InvestiGator - Platinum Walkthrough - Everything is presented flawlessly, both in terms of content an format/images. great work! - New Author Excellence: 1. Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless Trophy Guide - I was pleasantly surprised by this guide. It not only looks great but also features a highly useful tips section. Moreover, there's a substantial amount of content and detail in each trophy description Very Honorable mentions: Fallout 3 - All DLC Trophies Walkthrough and Roadmap - Very detailed! Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 Trophy Guide - Good content and tips! Outlast 2 - Messiah Walkthrough - Appreciate the amount of detail and images added! The Talos Principle II Trophy Guide - Overall, a great guide! I praise the video guides created by the author. Exceptional Use of Original Content: Content creators unleash their creativity to craft impressive pieces of art. All these guides were astounding, both in format and the use of personal resources. Truly unique! 1. Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm - Collectible Guide - Everything in this guide looks and feels amazing. There is great attention to detail, the use of images and in-game resources is excellent, and the inclusion of very useful maps enhances the overall quality. 2. The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie - Walkthrough - A true masterpiece. Not only is there an immense amount of detail in the walkthrough, but it is also accompanied by perfectly crafted maps, all within an extremely inviting format. Fantastic work! Very Honorable mentions High on Life Trophy Guide - A very tidy and clean guide, perfect in terms of format and resources! IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey Trophy Guide - I can't praise enough the attention to detail, the quality of the maps, and the helpful tips! The Legend of Dragoon - Platinum Walkthrough Guide - An amazing guide, beautifully crafted and outstandingly helpful. Love te resources added and also the bestiary, which is a perfect bonus! Exceptional Use of Formatting: Another incredibly difficult category to choose just two from. 1. Anno 1800 Trophy Guide - The guide is crafted beautifully; everything flows and fits perfectly. Visually, it's an impressive work of art! 2. Moving Out 2 Trophy Guide - Format-wise, it looks beautiful! There is also a great amount of detail and useful tips Very Honorable mentions Song of Horror - Platinum Walkthrough - Excellent walkthrough guide with a lot of detail and super useful tips. II love the images used, the directions, and all the other original content used to craft it! Sunless Sea: Zubmariner Edition Trophy Guide - I love the use of colors and the ink-like images. All the original content is beautiful! The Last of Us Part I - Platinum Guide - Content and format-wise looks amazing. Everything is super clean. I love the maps! Overall Guide of the Year Final Fantasy VI - Pixel Remaster Walkthrough -I previously expressed my appreciation for this guide's format, use of images, information, and detailed walkthrough. However, many guides in these categories also surprised me during 2023 What sets this apart for me is not just the aforementioned elements but primarily the authors' remarkable feat of developing 12 guides for the Pixel Remasters games in record time. Maintaining a high level of quality across so many parallel guides is a testament to their excellence, an excellence that, in my humble opinion, deserves recognition and this coveted nomination. I had 4-or-5 way ties for multiple categories, and in a couple instances had to literally flip a coin because the final choices were so close. Exceptional Trophy Guides: #1: Hogwart's Legacy #2: Zombie Army Trilogy Exceptional DLC Guides: #1: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - VR Missions #2: Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores Exceptional Gameplay Guides: #1: Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster Walkthrough #2: Resident Evil 4 Professional S+ Walkthrough New Author Excellence: #1: Elder Scrolls Online Trophy Guide #2: Hollow Knight Trophy Guide Returning Author Excellence: #1: Red Dead Redemption Trophy Guide #2: Talos Principle II Trophy Guide Exceptional Use of Original Content: #1: High on Life Trophy Guide #2: Silent Hill Downpour 100% Exceptional Use of Formatting: #1: Alba: A Wildlife Adventure Trophy Guide #2: Moving Out 2 Trophy Guide Guide of the Year: Hogwart's Legacy This was probably the hardest decision of them all, with Hogwart's and FFVI both being outstanding choices for me. Hogwart's Legacy has pretty much everything you can want from a guide: it's thorough, well-written, funny and entertaining, and has outstanding formatting and organization. It's incredibly detailed without ever wasting the reader's time, and goes the extra mile to provide useful tips and bonus information throughout. As for FFVI, I took notes for each guide as I reviewed them, and FFVI's entry was one word: "WOW!" FFVI was my original top pick (probably due in no small part to the fact that I love FFVI and kinda hate Harry Potter....), but after re-reviewing them, I had to go with Hogwart's Legacy -- it does absolutely everything, and does all of it extremely well. FFVI was the sentimental favorite, but Hogwart's was the best overall guide this year.
