Popular Post snakebit10
King of the Diamond #344 Welcome to another year of the show. It has one of the easier trophy list of the franchise and no online trophies. You do need to be connected to the servers for points progress for your RTTS player. There are some tricky trophies but nothing to bad. Gameplay wise, it is pretty much the same and didn't really notice much difference from last years game. Being a PS5 version of it really does not look much different than last years title. I guess it is because of it being cross gen and cross platform for the first time. If you are a fan of baseball and the series than I am sure you will enjoy this years edition.
Popular Post Arcesius
Final Fantasy VII Remake The Pitch Return to the Mako-powered city of Midgar and join the ranks of the Eco-terrorist organization Avalanche led by the gun-armed and charming as always Barret, in an effort to take down Shinra and save the planet from being sucked up dry. The Best Alright so if there is one thing that is undisputable, it is that the characters are incredibly well portrayed. Each and everyone of them, be it a Turk, an Avalanche member, Cloud, Hojo... they are FULL of their own unique personality that is noticeable with every single word they say. The interactions between characters are engaging, too, and the language used is... or rather, is NOT, prettified, which is honestly something I would have expected from a game such as this, aimed at as a broad audience as possible ? I truly enjoyed every single cutscene, every single line of dialogue tied to story progression. In the original game, for example, I didn't particularly care for Barret. Sure, he's always had a tragic and intriguing background-story, but his polygons just didn't stand out in any particular way. His character was a boring, shapeless mix of brown and green, and oh wow, he has a gun for an arm... Who cares. In FF7R... he very quickly became my favorite character. He reaks of personality, and I dunno, he is portrayed with an incredible passion, very well voiced, and always speaking his mind in a rough but clear and straightforward fashion. Just... awesome through and through. Truly, this is as amazing, as captivating, as good as it gets, and I was, and still am, very positively surprised. Despite having played this game (.. the original) so many times, I was hooked from start to finish when it came to the plot and the interactions. And man, if there is one thing they did well was to create a game that is engaging for newcomers, but also hit all of those nostalgia notes for veterans. All of the iconic scenes, be it crashing into Aerith's church and escaping through the roof, seeing Aerith's beautiful house for the first time, the toilet-blocking person in Wall Market, etc... all of these small and not so small things that are so iconic are present in the remake, it's fantastic. Additionally, they gave Biggs, Wedge and Jessie their own stories, and made me care for them like I never did in the original game. They expanded the original story in a way that doesn't feel "wrong" whatsoever, and I am happy with the result. The Worst Unfortunately, there are also many things that I didn't like quite as much. Even more unfortunately, they are not minor details that I can simply overlook. First of all, the combat, at least before you unlock Hard mode (which you don't until you finish the game for the first time). Basically, if you know anything about the Materia system (which, you know... if you have played the original, you will), combat amounts to the following: Hold / Mash . Yep, that simple. That's my combat guide, you're welcome ? You'll be pretty successful with that in Hard mode, too! With the exception of boss fights, for which you'll have to think a bit more, simply link whatever element the enemies are weak to to your weapon and hold square. You might need to dodge from time to time when the enemies are holding a shield and approaching you at a snails pace, or use Wind-magic whenever you encounter those flying helicopter-motherfuckers but otherwise you can pretty much ignore the battle system entirely. Now, I don't recommend doing that... There are a couple of battles that will require quite a bit of micro-management, and it's those battles where it is recognizable that the combat system is, at its core, pretty intricate and deep! But fact is: you won't need more than attack and dodge for 95% of the game, provided that you manage your materia well enough. That's a shame, it makes the sections where you are running through corridors and fighting enemies a chore, and you'll be constantly hoping to hit the next cutscene soon so that you can go back to enjoying the game. Aaaaand that's already touching upon my second significant gripe with this game: The level design. Holy mother of lizards, it takes a special kind of narrow-minded designers to create such linear maps. And don't get me wrong.. I'm not talking from the perspective of the plot and the side-activities. The original game was pretty linear during the Midgar-part, so obviously you cannot expect an open world (and I wouldn't want one). I'm literally talking about the level design. Here, this is 90% of the game: "Come on, Arcesius.. you are clearly exaggerating..." Nope, I really am not. Every single map is basically a curved corridor. The slums might have a couple of intersections, but otherwise you'll be navigating a corridor, finding enemies every couple of steps, having hidden loading screens behind forced slow-movement sections, trying to keep up the illusion of realism but, at least for me, breaking the flow. Maybe I'm being too harsh, I dunno, but this was, from the very beginning, one of the biggest problems I had with this game. And it doesn't get more apparent than during Chapter 17. Here you'll be exploring Hojo's lab. This is a part that was added to the Remake, it wasn't part of the original game... so hey, there you go designers, be creative, do your best! You even have Red XIII with you, and he can jump over some gaps, this surely opens up all kinds of crazy setups, right??? I mean, it's the perfect setting for having amazing secrets hidden all over the place... You know where I'm going with this, right? This lab, this chapter, full of potential, screaming for some non-linearity for once... Is just as linear as everything else. There is nothing intersting to find, no interesting application of Red XIII's wall-jump ability, no hidden paths... nothing. Just another corridor shaped differently than the others... but a corridor nonetheless. ? The Challenge For the first playthrough you can either play on Easy or Normal. I did an entire blind playthrough on Normal and, as mentioned above, didn't encounter a single difficulty spike. Naturally I was hoping for one when I got to my Hard mode playthrough, and sure enough I had to think a bit more about my Materia setup, especially during boss fights, but since I didn't really use items during my Normal playthrough either, this restriction wasn't really noticeable. Now, there are certain chapters on Hard that are definitely a bit more challenging than others. Especially Chapter 17 is definitely no pushover since you'll be facing 4 bosses pretty much back-to-back, and you can run out of MP (and they don't regenerate). In fact, I had to defeat The Arsenal without using any MP, but even that was very manageable. Then there is of course the ultimate challenge to overcome, which is the VR-mission that has you fight against some Aeons followed by the "Ultimate Weapon". I will admit I was stuck on this challenge for a bit. But it was my own fault. I was trying to rush through the challenge, even going as far as looking up some speedrun-strats and setups to get this done within a couple of minutes. After failing a couple of times, I decided to forget about what other players do and don't do, set up my characters as I saw fit, decided not to listen to all those people that pick Tifa over Barret and... got the challenge completed on my next attempt. And that really is what I think is the most important lesson to learn... don't try to copy what other players do. Keep fighting through the entire game with a setup that you are comfortable with and you'll be just fine. In the end, this is a relatively easy game with no notable challenge to mention ?

Popular Post dieselmanchild
#204 - Zotrix Zotrix is a low budget, retro arcade space shooter game, and I believe it is also my first foray into the twin-stick shooter genre as well. Being the cheap ass opportunist that I am, I grabbed this game for about $1 off the PSN store in a sale awhile back without knowing anything about it really. It looked pretty fun from what I could gather, and after seeing it mentioned recently in a thread about twin-stick shooter games I decided to give it a shot and ended up being pleasantly surprised with it. It’s not a great game by any means. It feels a little low budget, especially with things like the awful UI and menus in between missions. But the colourful gameplay was a lot of fun and the music was great and kept me energetic throughout the 15 or 20 hours it took me to platinum it. The campaign grind for 100,000 kills can get a little boring towards the end but it was nothing I couldn’t handle. The most fun part of the trophy list was definitely Arcade Mode which is slightly more challenging and has you trying to amass points to buy ship upgrades (shields, drones, bombs etc.) in between waves to increase your survivability. I got black screened on Wave 15 twice in a row, which should have pissed me off, but I actually didn’t mind replaying it as I was having a good time just vibing out to my music and shooting those pesky aliens. Other than that, it’s a very simple and straightforward game so there’s not too much else to say about it. I am mainly posting this in hopes people may be able to offer some suggestions on other games from this genre that are fun to platinum. The only similar game I own right now is Resogun, but I’ve heard it’s pretty fantastic so I’m looking forward to playing that! My next game for this month will likely be BFV. Popular Post DamagingRob
#515- Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast May the Force Be With You, Kyle Unlocked all Trophies ... This game aged horribly. Or was better on PC. I have a hard time believing anyone enjoyed this. If it weren't for cheats, I don't know if I would have finished it. It reminded me of the original Alice game that came with Madness Returns. Falling off a ledge, or messing up a jump can lead to death. And there is way too much opportunity for that. It does let you save anytime, but with the caveat that it won't overwrite a save. This means you will probably get to a point where you try to save, but can't because you've ran out of slots.. So you'll have to close the game, delete a bunch of files (making sure not to delete the wrong ones, and have to recollect secrets), and then resume. But hey, Star Wars day plat. Popular Post JoaLoft
#251 - Outriders Chances are, if you heard of Outriders recently, it was mostly negative press because the game suffered from major server issues at launch, and still struggles with glitches these days. But there's also some fun to be had, fortunately. Developed by Bulletstorm's creators, People Can Fly, Outriders is a sci-fi shooter which is only playable online. You play as an Outrider, an elite soldier unit who accompanies the remnants of the human species as they leave planet Earth and search a new habitable planet. Upon reaching said planet, called Enoch, the pathfinders and scientific personnel wake up from cryostasis in the main vessel, and land to scout the surface. The planet is plagued by violent storms however, and the first landing goes horribly wrong: troops and people get caught in one of these destructive lightning storms during recon, most of them perishing. You also get struck by the storm, and are put back into cryostasis on the planet. Mere seconds later, you wake back up and find out that over thirty years have passed while you slept, and a civil war has erupted in the region. And as you start to explore outside of your pod, you discover your DNA has mutated and you've acquired special abilities beyond compare. Turns out that people have a very slim 0.003% chance of surviving one of these mysterious lightning storms, and those who miraculously do, develop supernatural powers and are aptly called "Altered". Now with Altered on both sides of this bloody war, as the last remaining Outrider left, it is your job to travel across the planet, help deal with the civil war, find the origin of the violent storms and discover a way to wake up the rest of the mothership still floating in orbit above Enoch, to populate the planet and ensure humanity has a future. The story takes a while to ramp up and initially, it felt very generic and unappealing. You'd think a planetary landing would be awesome as an opening set piece - think again. I was not invested in those first few hours at all, truth be told. After all, you don't get your powers instantly, and the initial look of the game was a turnoff. The cast lacked gravitas and that first impression of gameplay - which is very important - without your powers was very boring. I really had to push myself forward to find out that it does get more interesting later on. Especially once you cross the frontline of the war and enter uncharted territory with your small crew of characters, as you discover more about the indigenous population, what happened to them and their role in the storms. Gameplay can be decribed as a third-person cover shooter with supernatural powers. Think "The Division meets Destiny", sort of. It plays up to three people online in coop - even though you can finish everything flying solo - and it involves leveling up through all the missions and events, investing points in a skill tree, collecting new gear with specific mods and types of rarity-- You've heard about this sort of game before. You know how it works if you played one of the previously mentioned games. Where Outriders truly shines, is the different classes and powers, and the synergy that blossoms once you and your squadmates fire off powers wielding different classes. There's four of them, and you get to pick one and only one for your character at the start of the game: the Devastator, the Trickster, the Technomancer and the Pyromancer. These are essentially the tank, the rogue, the support unit, and so on. Each one provides nine different abilities of which you can use three at any given time, giving you the freedom to develop your own playstyle within your class. I myself went with the Trickster, and I really had fun using my powers, which are pivotal in surviving higher world tiers where enemies are more difficult to beat, but also drop higher-end loot. Everything was tuned as such that I could slice my way through hordes of enemies behind enemy lines: being able to warp behind enemy positions, slice them all in one fell swoop and deliver tremendous amounts of damage, only to finish the rest off with a spinning slash attack just felt very satisfying. Add to that, that I modded my gear as such that my moves would heal me with each kill, and you have a very deadly Trickster who is perfect for crowd control. Each class has unique abilities such as these, in coordination with what their role is in a fight. So, the gameplay system itself works thanks to a solid design, and with friends there's a lot of enjoyment to be had. But, Outriders suffers from setbacks too: the game never transcends the overall level of "decent". The story's okay, but not engrossing. The gameplay can be fun, but if you play it solo, it's not as entertaining. And the endgame activities are of the typical variety: reach a goal, kill loads of enemies, collect better loot to increase your firepower/armor/superpower/what-the-fuck-ever, do it all over again. Not to mention the technical issues: the servers crashed all the time back at launch, people lost their progress and loot (!) and the game still deals with annoying bugs to this day, either performance-wise or gamebreaking ones. The newest patch even introduced moments of inexplicable lag out of the blue as I was getting the platinum trophy. Unacceptable for a high-profile always-online game such as this one. The conclusion as such is simple: the powers and coop gameplay/synergy redeem Outriders. Without these two key elements, Outriders is just as generic as any other random third-person cover shooter who tried to step in Gears of War's footsteps in the past. Play Outriders if you have friends to play with, if they own the game as well. If not, then play Bulletstorm, a previous and superior game of People Can Fly. Most frustrating trophy - Outrider, First Class To complete the trophy list, you'll need to tick several boxes such as the completion of all quests, killing thousands of enemies, and this nonsensical trophy called "Outrider, First Class". As you remember, I spoke about the classes and their individual powers you can choose from, depending on your playstyle. You can earn accolades giving you rewards by hitting milestones in the game, such as killing a predetermined number of enemies with specific weapons or powers. This particular trophy demands that you complete all class-related accolades, and as such master all powers of one specific class (i.e. usually killing x amount of enemies with <power y>). So, if you were really accustomed to three specific powers you love to use: get ready to shatter your dreams, craft new mods on your gear for powers you dislike and grind for hours in the same endgame activities using the six remaining abilities. Because that's what you need to do to get that fancy platinum trophy. Mastering these mechanics isn't the issue. If anything, mastering your specific talents is nothing less than practice and instinct at work. What is aggravating, is that the trophy is juxtaposed to how the game functions. "You want to customize your playstyle? Yes, of course, my dear. Pick three yummy powers you love most and enjoy yourself, darling... What's that? You want grandmother's delicious platinum too? THEN GET READY TO HAVE PLATES OF BROCCOLI BEFORE YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CAKE!!" The fact you need to master all nine powers is just ridiculous busywork with no actual goal. Sure, it'll coax you into giving other powers a spin you might not have tried before. But chances are you won't be able to wait until you can switch back to the loadout you are familiarized with. That was the case with me: half of the Trickster's powers felt inferior to the awesome ones I had grown accustomed to. The vast majority of the trophy list was fine to work with. But "Outrider, First Class"? No. Bad "People Can Fly". Bad. Edited May 4, 2021 by JoaLoft
Popular Post kkulifay
Watch Dogs (PS3) 100% Clear - Platinum Trophy Admittedly, I hated this game at first. I kept comparing it to the GTA series and kept pointing out the game’s flaws. But after the first Act in the storyline, the plot started to get interesting and the hacking became intuitive. I love Ubisoft games and find them stupid addicting. I enjoyed the progression model and even the multiplayer tasks (except racing because the driving mechanics are lame). Kind of bittersweet because that might be the last PS3 game that I platinum. I have a PS5 waiting that I’ve hardly played with a backlog of every Assassins Creed game on PS4, including Valhalla on PS5, Fallout 4, Witcher 3, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Just need the time haha
Popular Post MissShake
#59: Subnautica Platinum Trophy Collect all other trophies I'm a dirty cheater who used the dev menu for this one. That being said, I can definitely see the appeal of a game like this! I've always been a fan of underwater environments, and even if my time with this game was short I really quite enjoyed the design of the environments. The colors, the creatures, the hidden secrets, all of it was really quite pretty. I think the controls did feel a little wonky, maybe I just needed to get used to them. I also felt like there were performance issues, but I'm like ninety percent sure that this was because of me using the dev menu and teleporting left and right. I might have to give this game a try legitimately, it seems really interesting!
Popular Post Darghel
#102 Purge Perfect (Poison Control) Difficulty: has some difficulty spikes, but nothing too difficult Time to Complete: there's no timer but it took me less than 2 days Recommended: Yeah! Total Score: 7/10 I don't have much to say so I'll so be brief: it's a jrpg but plays like a third person shooter, and you got to clean the poison while also liberating the "hell's belles", each level being a delusion of a girl in the living world. Sometimes it got fairly depressing, since most of the girls you're going to "help" are dead, while some are alive. The stories of the hells are somewhat interesting but nothing groundbreaking, and the overall story isn't bad but it has the "surprise villain" trope that has the problem of suddenly switching the focus. It should've been done earlier and not 3/4 into the game...and the game is already short as it is! Overall, it's a good game for its asking price of 40 euros and it kept me entertained, it has plenty of (japanese) dubbing, the style and colors are nice (very persona and danganronpa) and there's enough variety of weapons and armors, plus it's an easy platinum to boot. I expected worse from a 40 euro game (looking at you valkyria revolution) but it was enjoyable.

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #597: Difficulty: 3.5/10 (2/10 using The Dark Side) Playtime: 8-10 hours (1-2 hours using The Dark Side!) Enjoyment: 7/10 (Regardless of usage of THE DAAAAAARKKKKK SIIIIIIIIDE!!! because heck, I guess even UNLIMITED POWER has its limits... wait, what?) The Dark Side of the Force is the pathway to many trophies some may consider to be... well, pretty easy to achieve anyways. Full disclosure: I played it on, umm, Light Side mode on my alternate account months and months back because I wanted a crack at the leaderboards on my main profile... welp, so much for that! Everything did not transpire entirely according to my design...! Best laid plans of mice and fedoraed gasmasked men and all that transverse neopithedalian modal jazz. Anyways... this is indeed, more or less, pod racing! I vaguely remember playing it for eleven minutes or so at a Swedish demo booth, when we was all sweet summer children living in blissful ignorant hope that Episode II of the Wars of the Stars might not turn out to be an inconceivably dull story of sand, slapstick drier than the actual sand, and a love story so tepid and devoid of chemistry Twilight might actually be a better one, if only by default. So, uhh, my rambly point is that it's a pretty good game, but one that gets lost in the shuffle during a bit of a golden period for racing games, what with some obscure titles such as the 64th Kario Mart and Z-Xero F pretty much setting the bar for 3D racers as far as I'm concerned. Ain't nothing here ain't done betterer in either one of those. Episode I Racer lives and dies by its license, but in so being, it's not to be missed by devotees of those starry, starry wars... because this IS pod racing, and... it's working! IT'S WOOOORRRRKINNNNGGG... just about well enough. You got your pods and you got your racing and you got a whole bunch of obscure alien guys who have longer wiki articles than your average notable person. What more do you want? ...Can you tell I kind of regret even starting to write this because I can't really think of anything pertinent or insightful to add, yet? Whether you use the Dark Side or do it the comparatively hard way, it's a decent bit of fun and that's about it. It's, umm, it's pod racing. Oh, and never forget, pod racing wouldn't be pod racing if St. George Lucas hadn't watched a certain relatively obscure Norwegian stop motion animation movie, so there's that! Yeah! ...I'm done. May the 4th be with you, even if it's technically over in a majority of time zones, and stuff.
Popular Post Razzee-P
The N. Trepid Crash Bandicoot! Collect all the Crash Bandicoot trophies. It's been more than a year since I last posted here, but I felt the desire to do so again to express my frustration regarding this platinum. The platinum itself is not hard (since you can jump on the ropes on two specific stages), but achieving 100% is, because Stormy Ascent is a pain in the ass. I don't remember the last time I felt so much rage while playing a game. It took me a whole afternoon of trying and trying again, until I got it, and I was about to give up for good. It's particularly difficult since Crash slips off virtually any edge for no good reason. I recorded the successful attempt and sent to YouTube, given the relief. I read that Crash Bandicoot 4 is even harder, therefore I won't even bother with the platinum. I never considered myself good at platform games to start with. I just don't call this my hardest achievement because Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X (Ending Medley *cough*) was a thing. At least it was a rhythm game and I was having fun. Popular Post JoaLoft
#252 - Burly Men At Sea After my previous platinum trophies which were mostly open world games and took dozens of hours, I was looking for something quick and easy Well: quick and easy is what I certainly got! Burly Men At Sea is an indie game centering on three bearded sailors called Steady Beard, Brave Beard and Hasty Beard. The story starts with them finding a message in a bottle, and the piece of paper turns out to be an empty map. A metaphor for the journey which lies ahead, once they set sail and go off on a dozen small adventures. Literally.. This is quite unlike anything I've ever played. One single run of the game takes about fifteen minutes max. Yes, you read that right. FIFTEEN MINUTES. But the game doesn't want you to stop playing then and there, as does the trophy list. Seeing as how this has a branching narrative, the decisions you make, lead to different outcomes and endings. Twelve, to be precise. Which means you'll be revisiting specific scenarios, but one of Burly Men At Sea's strengths is that the game is full of light humor and as such, characters will slowly try to break through the fourth wall in subsequent runs as if you are experiencing a massive deja vu over and over again, à la "Wait, haven't we met before?" All the runs flow into each other seamlessly, and once you reach one ending, you'll literally be out the door and back on your boat for the next mini-adventure. As it's an indie game, everything is very much low budget, but in an artistic and neat way. Visual design is simplistic but effective and a lot of the sound effects were generated vocally. Gameplay is so basic even that everyone can pick this up and finish it: you only need one button and two triggers/analog sticks to guide the three bearded men through the many ordeals they'll face. Would I recommend this? Not really, it's pretty damn expensive for what it is (€10, what the hell!). But I can't say I didn't enjoy my very short time with it. It doesn't outstay its welcome and got some giggles out of me. Worth pursuing at a discount, especially if you got it for free with Plus several years ago like I did. Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! Seriously? I mean, what did you expect? The game's fifteen minutes long. Multiply that by twelve different outcomes and you have... (five times two... carry the one...) 180 minutes of playtime to get a shiny platinum trophy. Strictly mathematically speaking, that is, because the entire process takes even less time! I got every trophy in a little over two hours, if you play at a normal pace. As it stands, this is one of the easiest and quickest platinum trophies I have sitting in my trophy collection. A very nice change of pace after my lastest platinum entries, for sure!
Popular Post kRiZz_93
# 127 - This Is The Police 2 (PS4) Difficulty - 3 / 10 Enjoyment - 7.5 / 10 (Came into this game not really knowing much about it other than it was a blend between a Police sim and I saw a few images of what looked like some turn based combat. Overall the game was fairly decent, especially considering the price. The story was okay but needed improvement, but the tactical missions was a lot of fun and it's a shame there was only like 12 of them. I would personally say the most enjoyable part about this game was planning out the missions and coordinating the cops to take down gang members and criminals, you have at your disposal a wide array of item such as flash grenades / baton / shocker / stun gun / pepper spray and great perks such as 'Freeze Buddy!' to safely incapacitate offenders or you can choice to run and gun the missions, though I wouldn't advise it! ?) Time Taken - 1 Week 3 Days 8 Hours # 128 - Oninaki (PS4) Difficulty - 2 / 10 Enjoyment - 8 / 10 (Never heard of this game until I picked up online and I'm glad that I did because the story was so interesting, yet had many plot twists of which I didn't see coming! Overall I would say that it was a great game, the action RPG combat felt smooth, the variety of Daemons was nice to see as they all offer different skills and play styles of which you can swap to at anytime. The soundtrack and visuals was so beautifully made for this game, pair that with the platinum image that looks so well made! ? The only downfall this game had was the post game content, once you finish the game they open up a new area to explore which sounds great to begin with, until you realize that it's just a dungeon with 101 floors! ?) Popular Post Redgrave
#209: Timeless Adventurer - Ys: Memories of Celceta My second Ys game and I found it to be as fun of an experience as Ys VIII despite it not being as big of a game. I probably could have done it sooner if I hadn't put it on pause to finish Judgment since I initially started this game to do something on the side from Puyo-Puyo in Judgment, and by the time I went back to Judgment I was on the final stretch of the game which surprised me since it only took me about five or so days to get there along with having over 90% of the world map filled out. But it is a remaster of a Vita game so I guess it does make sense as to why it didn't take as long especially compared to Ys VIII. I don't have much to say about the gameplay other than it is good and I didn't have any issues with the combat or anything. In a way it felt similar to Ys VIII, although you don't really control the way the camera turns which normally I would have an issue with but I had no issue with the camera either despite it being something of a birds eye view so I was pleasantly surprised by it and I got used to it really quickly. I think the only time I really wish I could have controlled the camera was when I wanted to see which direction a treasure chest was in the final dungeons but I managed it fine. The only thing I can really knock the game for is the way it handled the collectibles in which there's not really a way to track them outside of a percentage. I found it really frustrating when I had to find the last treasure chest and resource point on the map because I had no idea where they were supposed to be and the most I could do is take guesses, and in regards to the resource points, the map is full of them so it was hard to tell where it could have been. But thankfully my last one was in a cave that I somehow missed and the treasure chest was in an open spot I also have no idea how I missed. Still, I really don't like this kind of "needle in the haystack" collectible system since it reminded me of finding the final shards in the first inFamous game but I guess I can't knock it too hard since it is a remaster of a Vita game from 2012 and they did have a proper way to track collectibles among other stuff in Ys VIII better. Otherwise everything else about the game is great and I think it's worth picking up.

Popular Post arcanehornet_
Platinum #337: The Wolf Among Us (PS Vita) This is my favorite Telltale game and an amazing game/story in its own right. Fairy tale characters living in an old school version of New York with a mature story attached is a genius idea! Bigby Wolf is such a badass character and a great protagonist. Play this if you haven’t already, please. About the plat: It’s a tiny bit more complicated than your usual Telltale platinum due to the book of fables entries. You can unlock different entries based on a few decisions in the episodes. These are very easy to clean up and takes 10 minutes maximum. The game was also a bit harder than the PS4 version, simply because the Vita version has a few technical flaws. Overall though, it was still really awesome to revisit this game. Popular Post GT__Jedi
Plat #71: Metropolis: Lux Obscura Fun: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Well, didn't know what to expect from this one, but it was on the recent sale and looked interesting. Was a match 3 (competition against NPC characters), and didn't warm up to it at first but once I understood how to use a bit of of strategy and selecting power-ups against some of the more difficult matches it was a blast. Story-line was actually quite good! Highly recommend the game if you want to do something a bit different. Game was well worth the price!

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#356 - Freedom Wars Joy and Prosperity Earn all trophies. So 6 years and 6 months after I started it, I finally got the plat in Waifu Wars Freedom Wars. ? The main reason why it took so long is due to me being (primarily) a solo player, so I hit various roadblocks over the years that I struggled to overcome by myself. As a Monster Hunter style game, it's definitely at its most enjoyable when playing with others, ideally a group of friends. But even with me putting the game on hold multiple times over the years, I still consider this to be one of the Vita's gems, and unlike a lot of other classic Vita games, this one never got ported to other platforms. While it would have been nice to allow a bigger audience to play this game, I think it remaining a Vita exclusive makes it extra special. The story/setting is really cool and unique. It's set in a dystopian future where cities have been forced to relocate underground due to the inhospitable surface. You play as someone who has just been slapped with a million years prison sentence and are forced to work off that time by completing missions for the good of the city you belong to. You start out at the lowest of the low and have to earn the right to even do basic things like running or talking, or else your sentence will be extended further. Such a quirky idea. ? The gameplay is largely what you would expect from a Monster Hunter type of game, except in this one you can zip around with a grappling hook and even attach yourselves to the large enemies to sever their body parts. My only real complaint about the gameplay is how much you have to mash the circle button to sever these body parts, but other than that, it's super fun! Now I've played with various randoms over the years, and I have to commend the online community this game has. I've had nothing but good interactions with the people on there and they're always down for helping out others. You can still find lobbies to this day which is a testament to how good the game is. Big thanks to @cr1s especially since he was the one who motivated me to revisit the game again and finish off the stuff I had left for the plat. He also gave me a hand with some of the tougher missions and with some material farming even though he already had the plat himself. He's a good lad. ? I would love a Freedom Wars 2 someday, but with Japan Studio now being a shell of their former self (thanks Sony), it's probably never going to happen unfortunately... I'll never forget the fun times I had with this game though. Definitely the best online experience I've had on my Vita. ?
Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #108 Dusk Diver Recently, as I browsed a PS Store sale, I came across a game I had never heard or seen before: Dusk Diver. Immediately I looked at some videos on Youtube about the gameplay, got interested and bought. Even on this site the game is pretty unknown. Can Dusk Diver be rated as a hidden gem? The story is pretty simple and straightforward. You will follow Yang Yumo, a girl enjoying her summer vacation in Ximending with her best friend Yusha, when both of them get sucked to another world very similiar to their on: Youshanding. When attacked by monsters they are saved by a man called Leo. As Yumo discover her powers, she, Leo, his Boss and others Kunlunians will fight the Chaos Beasts to protect the peace of Ximending. There is nothing special about the story, but it is good enough to not get you bored. The strongest point are the characters, the comedy is on point. You will not laugh your head off, but it is enjoyable. The gameplay reminded me of Akiba's Trip and Senran Kagura, but dont worry, contrary to those games there is no ecchi in Dusk Diver. The game is not challenging, both on normal and on hard. As long as you increase your skills, use your guardians, specials and D-arms wisely, you will breeze through the game. There are plenty of resources scattered on each mission if you ever find yourself in a pinch. Graphics surprised me, the games is pretty. It is very similar to AI: Somnium Files. The soundtrack is mediocre and dont stand out in any way. The setting could be bigger. We only have Ximending to explore, and a small part of it. The same can be said about missions: since Youshanding is based on Ximending, all missions look the same, aside from a change of light color and soundtrack. They could have added more variety. The platinum is pretty easy and straightforward. You need to really do everything the game has to offer: complete all quests (they are marked on your map), get all collectibles (only the Lottery Poetry is annoying because of RNG, but thankfully it is free. Use guides to get the Dragon Vein Shards on missions, but most of them are easy to spot, specially on Hard), get S rank on all missions, both on normal and hard (abuse items and D-arm transformation) and the most important thing: ALWAYS water the tree in the convenience store between missions since chapter 2. You will only get this trophy on post-game. I think you have to water the tree around 30 times to unlock the trophy. Nothing is missable, and you can get everything after the last mission. For a very unknown game (at least in the West), Dusk Diver surprised me positively. The game is simple with a bit of depth on the combat, the story is simple and light-hearted, the game looks good and you have plenty of things to do. Sadly the game is too short, I wish it was a bit longer. It was also my first time playing a taiwanese game. If you like hack-and-slash and want to give it a try, I am sure you will have a very enjoyable time. As the time of this post it is currenly on sale. I wish the studio can develop a sequel.
