Xillynoc
Soon as I finish the last PS3 game in my backlog, not planning to buy any more unless I get some really lucky deals on certain rare titles...hopefully in the next 10 years.
EmperorZetta
I was using it as Vita storage for a long while until Sony patched that functionality out for no apparent reason. Still got over 100 games in my backlog for it and it stays plugged in, so I'll be playing it for at least another two years. While I'm sure the store will eventually go down, I don't think Sony will ever patch out trophy syncing functionality.

k0edb
If my ps3 wasnt a Slug I would be finishing my games... I even thought about using a ssd on it to make it faster but i dont know if worth the time to swap
NajiLionheart
As simple as NEVER! a lot of great games, hidden jewels so I won't stop just because of my PS4 backlog or because I will get a PS5 eventually in the future, so as simple as Never 🙃

Fing3rButt3r3
Crazy but I still play mine occasionally. Actually streamed some PS3 games on my PS5 a couple weeks ago. I think I would be playing more PS3 games if I didnt have to go thru with the slow PS3 hardware and PS5 actually had BC with PS3 stuff.

Popular Post mega-tallica
Never. Game catalog is too big and too good and most of it isn't backwards compatible with the newer consoles. Gotta keep the hardware around still in order to have access to most of its games unfortunately. For as long as I had a PS5, I've probably played the PS3 more in this time. Most new games just don't hit the same for me but the PS3 is tried and true. It's a console I know I could always go back to and find something good to play on it. Just countless hidden gems and deep cuts, same with the PS2 generation although going back to the PS2 is more about nostalgia for me more than anything else. I come back to the PS3 because it was just good and is still really good to enjoy in 2024 and beyond.

ShadyWARcotix
Wanna unlock the platinum for Blur, The Saboteur, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (100% dlc) and finishing the Skate 2 & SC: Chaos Theory story. I also got few ps1/ps2 classics to play. That's it. Played or platinumed every game I wanted to do back at my friends house. Bought a ps3 last year to tackle the last few games I skipped back in the day and luckily I'm almost done. solidcarlos
It's hard to stop trophy hunting on PS3 when some of games I missed in the past are dirt cheap in some flea markets I've been to and facebook marketplace 😅, I doubt I will stop anytime soon. RaidenART_
I will keep playing it as long as it has games which interest me. Which means i probably won't ever stop lol.

It's still going to be a long while for me. I'll probably keep playing until I run out of games. I still have a long PS3 backlog. It's also my preferred platform over PS4, I like my free online, XMB and PS3 controllers' battery life is awesome. Also, the games were mostly sold as complete experiences. Plus, you can fit your entire collection (or most of it) on the drive. The same cannot be said about the PS4. It's probably my least favourite PS generation so far

starcrunch061
Just picked mine up again recently (well, figuratively - I have the fat model, so I generally don't use it as a handheld). I wanted to give Disgaea 4 another go.

ddracarys
If you're in my part of the world, none of the PlayStation 3 catalogue is backwards compatible, so having it around is handy for those games which never got a modern treatment (my favourite PS3 game being one of said games). I still have my original hardware (console and controller) from the PS3's launch, so I guess I'll stop whenever it dies on me... Which I'd hope isn't anytime soon; all of my consoles are regularly cleaned and taken care of. My Nintendo 64 still runs so my PS3 has no excuse!
