Whoo boy, where to even begin. I got a PS5 so I've joined the current generation, finally. That also means I get to try out this whole autopopping plats thing. So far it hasn't really had a huge impact on my completion %, but I'll bump my goal up in the future if I think it will get too easy. I'm sure I'll start enough new games to counteract any advantage the autopops would give me. Plus, you get the occasional bugged ones like Diablo, too.

 

Anyway, I'm not counting autopops as completed games in my personal 2024 goal, but if I have to re-do a decent amount of the game I will. For example, in Outrunners you have to grab a single page to unlock a trophy again and get the plat. Not counting that, obviously. But, I will be counting Snowrunner when I finish it since I have to do a bunch of stuff in the Taymyr region to unlock the "complete every task" trophy again.

 

For some actual game progress last week:

• Finally got 100% in Comix Zone and Proteus. Only 12 and 9 years after starting them!
• Got the plat in Resistance Retribution. Boring game with awful controls, won't be playing the PS5 version.
• Played through the PS5 versions of Talia and Gleylancer for a couple of easy plats.
• Made a little bit of progress in Granblue, Onimusha, and Sakuna
• Started Astro's Playroom and Dragon Ball XV2.

Whew! Think that's everything. For this week I'll be starting on Dark Souls II SotFS, with some Granblue mixed in.

Small update:

 

Lost Words: Beyond the Page 16% -> 100% 

 

Managed to get the Platinum Trophy in time. I did a blind run the first run and missed just a few fireflies. After finishing the game, chapter select is unlocked and it was easy to get the remaining ones. Interesting game and mechanics, not difficult. 

 

Also played Ridge Racer on the Vita, but no progress was made because you need to do 50 races of each kind before you get the Trophy.

 

Overall progress: 62.36% -> 62.50%

Had a pretty good month thanks to finishing Guardians and completing several shorter games, Gran Turismo 5 being an enormous grind has taken up most of my time over the last 3 weeks but I'm only a couple of races away from finishing it now thankfully. (Those couple of races being 3 4 hour ones and 1 24 hour one but that's nothing at this point 😂)

 

Not really sure what my plans are for next month as my PS Premium sub expires on the 3rd and I don't even want to renew at the Essential level with the current prices, I'll probably go back to a couple of unfinished games I own and hope they do some sort of discount by Easter.

update my completion is now 20.50 and 23 easy games done that part is over now only final fantasy 2 pixel remaster the last easy game  and 1 though game almost completed dragonball xenoverse 2 98% completion i reached my first goal of the year my easy gamecollection is done now i do the good games and tough games lego marvel super heroes 2 diofield chronicle and eyuden chronicle rising i think to try again for the last dlc trophie from dragonball xenoverse 2 wich is my first hard game that platinumed and almost 100 percent completed the coming months i gonna try to finish 10 until 20 games and doing all the dlc maybe i gonna play a souls game like bloodborne ore dark souls remastered i have read that the souls games are tough i am happy with my progress i am making with my completion 20.50

I did okay in February. Still have quite a ways to go, but at least I'm moving in the right direction this month Finally finished up Dragon Quest Builders after like 6 years! I've had Lake downloaded since it was added to Extra, and I finally played through that as well. Most of my time was in DQB the last couple weeks, so not much else happened. I did start Tchia, so I can try to get that done before it leaves Extra. I didn't make it to a trophy yet though, so it hasn't shown up on my profile. I plan to get that done the first part of March, but I've no idea what will come after that.

- despite only playing once a week, I've been able to kill a boss every week and unlock a trophy. progress has been extremely slow, and at this rate I'm going to take until the end of the year to platinum it.

 

Sword Art Online: Lost Song

- have not touched this game since 3rd feb. at the start of the month I was clearing a few quests and earning trophies, but I've been too busy the whole month to even touch my ps vita. I was supposed to finish this game by the end of the month, but now it's going to take until maybe june for me to platinum it.

 

Clicker Heroes

- the only game I'm making good progress in. as an idle game, I rarely have to touch it so I've been farming lots of hero souls and levelling up my dps

 

 

all in all, I may reconsider lowering my goal, seeing as i really dont have the time to be earning trophies that often now. ill reconsider and update it accordingly.

Well I thought I would be playing some FF7 this weekend but UPS has no clue where my game is so I've been playing Judgement in the mean time

 

Judgement (PS4) (48% --> 71%):

Made great progress in Judgement this week. I completed what many believe to be the hardest part of the game, Puyo Puyo. I completely get why everyone hates this part of the platinum. Using the 3 stack method it took me quite a few tries but not as long as I thought it would have taken me. I also completed all side cases, got all friends and completed all of the Club Sega arcade games. Biggest challenges left are drone races and mahjong. I'll just continue to grind away at Judgment this week until I get FF7.

I finished off this with my kids. They really loved it and I actually enjoyed it as well. It is a very simple adventure type game. The writing was actually pretty clever in places and was a good time. There was this whole bit where you need information from one character, but they need a favor first as is typical in adventure games, but the character recognizes this as "extortion" and and there's this big thing about extortion that got pretty hilarious. Anyways, it was worth playing and a good one to play with kids.

Finally after 10 years, 7 months I finished the platinum for this game. This one was technically a goal from last year that I didn't complete, so I tried to get to it early this year. The online stuff ended up not being as bad as I was worried about. The game recommends a bunch of people for you to add so that you have ghosts to play against (best times of people on your friends list). I just spammed friend invites to everyone the game recommended and I had all the online challenges for beating friends in no time. I had a fun time for most all of the game and was glad I went back to clean this up. It's really nice to not have to be worried about possible server closures in the future now that it's all finished. One of the only things I think that this game has going against it is the soundtrack. It had maybe 2 or 3 songs that I enjoyed and the rest made me just mute the TV. This is entirely subjective of course, but it was a huge miss for me. Also, there was one type of event where you have to outrun avalanches, but some of the levels bring the camera out in front of you so you have sort of an isometric view looking up the hill rather then behind you so you can see what is coming up. This was infuriating because: 1 - you can't see what is coming up and end up taking the wrong line down the hill constantly, and 2 - the isometric view makes is nearly impossible to correctly judge the contours of the map so you can't really tell all the time when you are in the air, or if you are where you might land or how far from the ground you resulting in a ton of crashes an a lot of curses being muttered under your breath. Luckily there weren't a ton of those types of courses, but enough that it will stick out in my mind. Really satisfied to have completed this though after all these years.

 

 Darksiders (PS4) 0% --> 4% --> 11%

 

I spent most of my time on SSX the last two weeks, so I only started playing this a little last night again. I decided to start over and just do a single playthrough on Apocalyptic difficulty rather than do two whole playthroughs. I'm just a couple hours into the story, so not much to say  besides *so far* the difficulty isn't that bad. Early going, so we will see how it goes.

 

 Downwell (PS4) 7% --> 11%

 

I played this just for about an hour this week. I haven't played it in like 7 years I think, so here's another old one that I made a goal to go back and complete this year. I popped the trophy for beating the first of the 4 areas.  It's only been an hour, so too soon to say, but I feel like I may be in over my head here. I'll definitely give it more time, but so far I'm worried that I am NOT going to have what it takes to finish this game. I won't give up easy though, so who knows.

 

What's Next?

 

- I'll probably try and set up a boosting session for Among US VR to grind out the 100 more kills I need. I'm close to having the the fun I'm going to have with this game after 20ish hours total. I think with a good boosting group I could clean it up within an hour or so.

- Make my way through Darksiders. I don't remember how long the story is, but I hope to be able to roll credits by the end of the week.

- Play some runs on Downwell here and there. I'll probably not make this my main focus for a while. I'll just play it here and there while I'm getting a feel for it. Once I really "get" the game and feel more confident I'll switch it over to be my main game.

New home for my figures spreadsheet now and for some reason far beyond my understanding it seems to be have ended up looking quite a bit bigger than before. Will see how the post looks after submitting reply to see if it's worth adjusting over the next week.

 

Anyway, away from my laptop adventures and back to console-land, managed to successfully get the collectibles out of the way in Sonic Forces, which just left the speedruns to do. However after a couple of hours of trying the first one it was painfully obvious that it wasn't going to happen, with my best time so far being a whole 20 seconds short of the target. I suppose I could keep plugging away at it and try and git gud, but ultimately life's too short. The annoying thing is that the three main game trophies I have left are all tied to the challenge completion, so it's going to look a bit unsightly on the profile for a good while yet. Also tried the DLC trophies briefly, all collectible related - but I gave up on that as well as I couldn't get to grips with the somewhat dodgy mechanics to get the first set marked off, so for blood pressure reasons I gave that a miss as well.

 

Quite happy to move away from Sonic then and a marked change of tone to try Scars Above. Enjoyable sci-fi shooter, not quite as routine as I was expecting after skim-reading the guide - some of the bosses have been pretty tough so far. Still, as I get further in the difficulty curve seems to have lessened a bit, or maybe it's the very cool gadgets that unlock along the way helping out. About halfway through and don't think I've missed anything so far, which considering there's no NG+ is a bit of a relief. 

 

Should get Scars out of the way this week, no set plans for what happens next, quite enjoying this 'playing what I feel like' phase I seem to have found myself in so far. Probably explains the miniscule lack of progress in the completion target this year, but plenty of time to do something about that later on.

Hi, all! Congrats on all your successes the past two weeks! I didn't really have much tangible trophy progress for the week of Feb. 18th-24th other than getting the trophy for passing 100 winter levels in Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight and getting all my remaining arcade trophies (except 1) in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. So, I figured it would be best for me to wait until this week to do a written update, since I was trying to go for plats on Feb. 29th for the Leap Day Archive.

 

The 29th didn't really go to plan for me. But, I did do a trophy clean-up in Let's Sing 2016 (a karaoke game with a focus on pop music) after 8 years, and also started and finished Strawberry Vinegar (A visual novel about a young girl named Rie, who must allow a child demon to live with her family for a week, while feeding her (the demon) delicious food every day. Otherwise, Rie's soul will be reaped). I also made progress in Spirit of the North on the 29th, and finished off Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale later in the week.

 

As a visual novel, Strawberry Vinegar wasn't terribly long (a full read of one route (without skipping) takes at least 2-3 hours), but, the story was questionable, even with attempts to give the characters backstories and some development, because the characters still come across very one-note and cliche, and everything seemed to focus on different meal-based events. This doesn't change when you compare all of the endings (friendship, romance, normal/bad, etc.) either. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

 

This week, I intend to get back to Omega Quintet. But, I don't really have other plans besides possibly finishing off Spirit of the North. We'll see.

february was not a good a month earned a trophie in certain games and that was it in januari was good month for me 2 platinum trophies unlocked i am not so good in gaming as the rest on this site but the progress i am making is good i hope i can reach my 25% this year marvel spiderman is stil left unfinished i come back to this game and dragonball xenoverse 2 last dlc trophie still not unlocked and my trophies that i earn each day have increased to 1.02, good progress

Week 9 update (2/26-3/3)

 

Noel the Mortal Fate (0% --> 10%)

I played through season 1 of Noel the Mortal Fate, which took about an hour and a half to clear. The different story chapters for this game are called "seasons" because of the way the game originally released episodically on PC. I enjoyed season 1, but at the time the RPG Maker style gameplay wasn't really clicking with me. This one might get shelved for a little bit, but I do plan on returning to it at some point in the future.

 

Placid Plastic Duck Simulator (0% --> 100%)

I originally played this game on PC and got 100% of the achievements on Steam, so when I found out it was on PS5 I had to grab it. This game is more akin to a screensaver than an actual game, but it's very relaxing to put on when I work from home. I just enjoy watching the rubber duckies float around in the pool

 

Monster Monpiece (0% --> 74%)

This is where my main focus has been the past few days, as it's part of my list for the Spring Backlog Challenge. Having two PS Vitas really helps with the online trophies, since they can all be done via ad hoc. The rubbing mechanic would likely be strange to many, but you get used to it after a while especially if you're a degenerate like me. The gameplay for this one is pretty simple. It's a deckbuilder with combat on a 7x3 grid, and you can summon your cards in a 3x3 grid on your side of the field. Upgrading and fusing cards is definitely essential to clearing fights once you get past about chapter 3. I hit chapter 4 yesterday and definitely felt the difficulty spike. I'm hoping to have this one done either later this week or sometime next week depending on how much time I'm willing to invest into it on my next few days of PTO.

 

Powerwash Simulator (15% --> 12%)

Yet another game in my backlog that got DLC trophies. Luckily this one didn't have a massive impact on my completion, but it's still worth mentioning.

I also have some other backlog games I need to work on for the Spring Backlog Challenge, so I might hit one or two of those between Monster Monpiece sessions.

Another good week! Two platinums and some progress in other titles.

 

Finished off the plat and 100% in Astro's Playroom, and also completed the remaining tasks needed for Snowrunner. Got the free PS5 upgrade of DBFZ, too. Maybe I'll finally go for the plat on that version. And I also played a little more Granblue Relink. Finally unlocked the slime mission that's good for grinding so I'll be putting some hours into that this week. My % would have been higher, but I also started the PS4 version of Dark Souls 2. The PS3 game was one of my first plats so it will be nice to run through this version and see all the changes. 

 

Games for this week are FF7 Remake, Dark Souls 2, and Relink. With some GTA Online sprinkled in when I get the chance.

Mirror's Edge (52% -> 60%):

I finished the hard run. That wasn't too bad, but the speedruns are kinda intimidating me so I haven't started them. I need to put my big boy pants and just do it. XD

 

Mirror's Edge Catalyst (20% -> 30%):

More story done. I think I only have a few more chapters to do. I was doing a little reading up on the lore and saw reviews that said "Excellent movement but poor story and combat" and man, that resonated. The combat is more annoying than fun. Hopefully the side missions/clean up won't have that much combat in it.

 

Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God (33% -> 45%):

Working through the 250 floor dungeon. Almost to floor 50, which has my last RNG chest. Then just getting to the 250th floor and then a shit ton of item grinding. 

 

Still not much done, have been busy and haven't had time to game. Really just need to man up and try Mirror's Edge speed runs. I think me dreading that is blocking me from playing XD

February Summary

 

AC Valhalla 100% - Got the platinum for this one a few years back, but finally decided to tackle the DLC. Most of the DLC was similar to the base game, with the exception being the Roguelike mode they added. I saved that one for last and was a blast. Wish I could of had 50 hours of that instead more collect-a-thons. Also wanted to mention that range in difficulty of the Mastery Challenges was pretty surprising. Some could be done half asleep, while others required you to kill 30 plus enemies in a specific way with no errors.

 

Borderlands 3 100% - Pretty much the same story as AC Valhalla. Got the platinum a few years ago, and decided to revisit this game and clean up the DLC. I got to play it entirely co-op with a friend, which made the experience much more enjoyable. I don't care too much for the humor in Borderlands games, but the gameplay is top notch for me. Excited for what Gearbox does next.

 

Diablo IV 100% - I was able have this platinum be my 7,000th trophy. Very happy I could get that to lineup, and plan to start making all my future milestone trophies be platinums. Overall I had a blast playing through the campaign, but the endgame just didn't click for me. I put off grinding my character to level 100 for a while, but decided it was time to wrap up D4. 

 

Lego Worlds 100% - Got the platinum and 100% in February. I was surprised at how rare this platinum is, but after playing the game I definitely understand. Almost every trophy requires you to do something that would never happen during a normal playthrough. Not hard, just unique setups were required. Overall it was a smooth process once I got my bearings. Happy to have finally completed this one after sitting in my backlog for 6 years.
