Popular Post GraniteSnake
#112: Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom Another point and click. This installment features a young alchemist who chases a masked figure throughout a fantasy world. This game had no alternate modes for the hidden object scenes, so only one playthrough was required. Once again the voice acting is a little off.. it seems to be a common problem between these titles. A pretty average point and click overall. #113: Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery Not a bad sequel. Features some of the same characters from the first installment, except this game takes place a number of years after the first. The voice acting was even worse this time around, but it's just something I've come to expect with these titles. In this entry, the alchemy mini games played out like candy crush, which was a nice change and provided little difficulty. The plot itself wasn't that dark, and more romance based, which felt odd considering these titles usually have very strange story lines. I'm going to try out Metro 2033 next. Seems like a series that I'd enjoy!
Popular Post zenunlime73
#57 - Sword Art Online: Lost Song "ALO's Strongest Player" An alright game. It was kind of cool that you could play as most of the characters from the entire series with a few new characters unique to the game. Bit of a annoying and literal grind to have to slash at the same respawning monsters over and over again in order to level up. Though the story was good and makes you think what could be possible in the future for VR and the implications.
Popular Post madbuk
#299 - Tales of Xillia 2 Overall, I think I prefer the first game. It was interesting seeing all the characters again, seeing how they've grown since Xillia 1, and seeing the aftermath of the final chapters of Xillia 1.. but overall I think it wasn't as memorable. I started this 9 months ago, and honestly I can't remember much of the story at all, and I only have very vague recollections of all the character episodes. Xillia 1, on the other hand, I remember much better. Maybe it's because I did Xillia 1 twice, or maybe it's because the story was just better in general - or maybe a bit of both. This game does have some interesting ideas but the execution wasn't very good. Without spoiling too much, it's like they have a conversation about some deep morality issue about what is right and wrong... and then they just shrug it off and forget the conversation happened and the plot progresses. Given how integral that moral dilemma is to the plot, I think it should've been explored more than it was. Combat got a slight overhaul, introducing new mechanics on top of what was already in Xillia 1. While this is a good thing and the combat is better than Xillia 1 as a result, I did miss the simplicity of 1 at times. There are also two new party members to play around with but to be honest I never used them and stuck with the original cast for combat. They also made the combat-related trophies much more of a grind in this. Whereas in Xillia 1, where you had to use every character's unique player ability and their party ability 150 times, each, here you need to do it 450 times for everyone, including the new 2 party members. This bump up felt completely unnecessary. The other returning trophies, like doing linked artes, also got an increase in their requirements too for no reason. It just wasn't fun grinding this shit out and, as well as some other grindy trophy requirements for new trophies that weren't in Xillia 1, the reason why this took me 9 months and Xillia 1 only took less than a week. Overall I did enjoy this, but I prefer the first game. I'd happily stack Xillia 1 again - in English, not going to bother with the Japanese version - but I don't see myself ever stacking Xillia 2.
Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #162 Metal Slug Anthology Metal Slug Master Unlock all trophies. Finally~ Metal Slug 5 was giving me so many problems. The first level is soooo looooong. 4 and 5 were definitely the hardest to get the 10 prisoners free with. 5 being the worst, since that boss is the hardest first boss. I actually gave up solo trying, tried doing it with my fiance. He's not very good at games, but his body blocking was helpful to some degree. Even if we were unsuccessful, I decided to try it a few times alone and use a second controller to just body block. It's a little sketchy, and sometimes you get a bit too comfortable chilling behind a spawned ally so you forget to actually dodge. But if you can get the hang of it, it works. I don't know, as soon as the thing goes on two wheels and is on fire, it starts rto shoot bullets while doing it and they go in a circle aroun the screen. The first round I could dodge, but I would always get killed the second rotation since I'd slide under into the vehicle and it would slam down and kill me. :/ But I did it. So yay. I don't usually post videos, but figured I'd share how I did it. Since the guide's video isn't even filled with successful attempts and it takes you through the imo, super hard to beat miniboss and you don't even need to go that way to get 10. And as I did in the video, you can miss a few of them. Literally missed the 3rd guy... I noticed right after getting to the waterfall. As a side note, for some reason the lady [4th] sometimes counts toward your prisoner counter, and other times does not. I'm not sure if she just falls over at some point on her own and that's why, but that's why I awkwardly jump at her since that's how I could make sure she counted. You don't need her to count, you can easily get over 10 without her. Spoiler All the games are pretty awesome, but man I did not like the first level of MS5 after all that. It really shows how slow the level design is for it, since a loooot of it is literally you just standing around waiting for the rafts to take you to the end of the first section of the game... to the next with another raft, to waiting for ceiling traps and fire traps... But it got really cool near the end of the game and had my favorite final boss of the bunch. If not for needing to repeat that first level fifty million times I wouldn't mind it so much. lol The 2P cheese really made the 5-continues piss easy, there's a post in the game forum about it [locked for some reason though]. So I think those ultra rares in time will probably not be so rare. You can die infinitely and use no continues at all. But maybe the 10 prisoners will put people off enough that they won't want to play. Who knows, I don't really care about rarity at all so it doesn't matter to me. I thought the 10 prisoners made the plat one to be earned and overall, pretty fair and doable with the exploit. But MS5... that single trophy for 10 prisoners upped the difficulty that I otherwise would've ranged in 3-4, to a range of 4-5. Maybe I just suck that badly, but I didn't have such a hard time with any of the other first bosses. I always felt it was entirely my fault for how I died. But the way that boss works felt more stacked against the player than the others. *shrug* There is input lag, but like I said in the game forum it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It's worse in the earlier games, and gets progressively less noticeable. I'd say around X or 3 is where it's to the point where I didn't even notice unless actively looking for it. With 6 being the best in terms of this even when looking it was barely noticeable for me. But I'm not really the type to easily pick up on that sort of thing. So mileage may vary. And I had direct comparisons to the ACA version of Metal Slug, and the stand alone port of Metal Slug 3 [started on Vita, finished on PS4]. So that helped to show me the difference for those games. But I don't think it should put anybody off as much as some people have posted about how bad it is. Literally only on a specific rock, did I have a problem with platforming itself. Since the rock was small and the gap to jump was large. So I ended up running off it three times in a row before nailing the timing of it. Otherwise, it was fine. And that was the first game in a vertical climbing [snowy] section. And to be additionally fair, those comments were prior to people [seemingly] knowing about the 2P exploit to have infinite continues. So I'm sure the input lag had a larger affect at that point. So it's not that they're even wrong. It's just not exactly accurate to how I'm sure most trophy hunters will play the game now. And like I said in my status updates regarding my progress... either X or 3 had really bad loading times, and a sluggish character select screen. I actually found it hard to quickly select my favorite character [2nd one on the list] because it was so sluggish. I'd either not move at all, or end up moving to the third guy and selecting that. This really grates trying to get the 10 prisoners, luckily that issue was not in 4 or 5 which had the longest first levels. And the loads between sections of levels was a lot higher than every other game in the Anthology. Which I just find really odd. I feel accomplished for finally being able to do 5. That was a massive pain in the ass.

Popular Post Mesopithecus
#148. Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 Not really a huge fan of this installment in the KH series - the story was bland, the worlds were boring and I could have done without the pokemon dream eaters. That being said it was exceptionally easy, even on Proud mode and really short too - it came in for me just under 50 hours and that's without skipping anything, and I even spent time leveling Sora up to level 99 (which was kind of overkill and unnecessary) That being said it does set the scene for Kingdom Hearts 3. Symphony of Sorcery was by far my favorite world and I think that's purely due to the music.
SomervilleHBK
#24 Modnation Racers (PS3) A bittersweet plat, yet the one I'm most proud of. MNR was the game that convinced me to get a PS3 in Christmas 2010, and with the DLC delisted way back before I found out about it and the server shutdown in October, both the playerbase and ability to 100% is zero. I met some pretty cool people through PSNP when boosting the create XP for WEEKS, but I look back at it fondly. Such a fun and overlooked exclusive gem, and one of the killer apps in the middle of the PS3's lifetime.

Popular Post SirDave1988
# 99 Parappa The Rapper Remastered (PS4) Hip Hop Hero Unlock all other trophies. You've gotta believe! Had this game back on a PS1 demo disc (Registered Users Demo 3 for those in the UK) and played the first Onion Master stage to death. That was one of my earliest Playstation memories over 20 years ago now. This was the first time playing the full game and it was enjoyable in it's own unique way, apart from maybe Stage 4. Oh Stage 4...... Whoever programmed that level deserves a slap in the face ??. Milestone 100th plat coming up next and I'm planning to make it this little known survival horror game. Not many have heard of it, it's pretty obscure, pretty sure it has the abbreviation RE2... dunno, will check it out ??

I wrapped up replaying KH 1.5+2.5 one week early so I had free game time before KH 3. I decided to play some "easy/quick" games. I chose Castlevania Requiem first since I am familiar already with SotN. Ahhh.. Symphony of the Night. It is not my first Castlevania game(my first was a Gameboy one that I couldn't recall the name) but this one is the game that made me love Metroidvania games. I haven't played Rondo of Blood so it was a nice experience (well, not so much fun experience tbh *shrug*). For Symphony of the Night, it was still fun reliving the experience. I actually haven't completed Richter's mode so that's a plus for replaying the game Anywayyy... now that Konami has ported SotN that was a PSX and PSP game, I could start hoping now for a PS4 port/remake of Suikoden I and II? *cross fingers* Edited January 24, 2019 by JaM Oh boy, still struggling posting on mobile...

She was hiding under a light-post. Finally finished this up. Did not care up for the story. The battle system did keep entertained. Game ran well on the Vita without hiccups. Sadly not PSTV compatible. Soundtrack helps with the immersion. Good 15 hours plus experience. Going to play the PS4 stack next. Did leave me wanting to play Chrono Trigger again.

Popular Post Dead Weight
#205: LittleBigPlanet (PS3) In hindsight, I should've gotten the Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time controller bundle instead of the LBP bundle. I really don't like the platforming in LBP1. I've played LBP Vita and it has better platforming and I'm sure 2 and 3 does as well but LBP1's is just janky and sometimes doesn't work. I don't really care about the level creation and the community levels but I can respect those gameplay features but I can't acknowledge that this game is a good platformer. It's floaty, the level geometry kills you, the level physics kill you, everything is out to kill you and it's just not fun. Finally got the plat after 8 years, I've just been putting it off because I don't like the game too much.
Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum No. 99! ? Ys Origin (Asian version) (PS4) Top of the Tower Yeah, top of the Tower! Again. I really like this game, so I took a double platinum ?. And I like also this trophy picture. ? The three stories are good, especially the Toals' one. He's a tragic hero, a renegade on both sides, demons and Ys people. But you can imagine he has a secret plan and for what he's fighting. And I love this kind of character, who struggles to create his own fate. I think this is the true story of the game, and the Yunica and Hugo's runs are only a "what if". The gameplay is very simple: RPG with hack 'n' slash combat system and every character has unique magic abilities (and I really like using charged trap mines ?, run away and blow up hosts of enemies ?. Especially the arthropod boss). The only thing I miss is a dodge ability: you can only run away or turn on the left/right in order to avoid an attack. And a funny issue. I don't know if it happened only to me, but in the international version the boss Jenocres (the fight with Yunica or Hugo in the Annex with the totems that shot tornados and spells) was bugged, since, after a couple of minutes, the totems stopped and didn't do anything, so you could easily destroy the boss. Actually, I was surprised by the boss' behaviour, I looked up on Youtube and I found a completely different battle ?. In the Asian version he's not bugged (and he's annoying with Yunica on Nightmare difficulty ?). I'm really surprised by the % rarity difference: 2,50 % the international version, while the Asian version is 7,19 %! Only a very rare platinum and not an ultra rare. I think this difference is quite similar to Sonic Unleashed (international version) and Sonic World Adventure (Japan version): ultra rare platinum in the international version, but very rare in the Asian/Japan region. Why? And finally I'm ready for the 100th platinum trophy: Kingdom Hearts III! ? Edited January 24, 2019 by Phoenix_argentea
Popular Post Yoey_666
#305 - Max: The Curse of Brotherhood The idea and fun behind the story was really cool. The game itself also had a very refreshing and innovative touch which I enjoyed. But for a small game like this, 93 collectibles are a bit much and sadly it has frozen my console about five times. But overall still a pretty decent game. Edited January 25, 2019 by Yoey_666
