Popular Post FilmFanatic
#212 - Catherine (EU) Cheers To You! Earn all other Trophies! Catherine is a somewhat weird Japanese game about relationships and cheating. The Golden Theatre was the storyline component that was made up of cutscenes, talking to NPCs in a bar but the bulk of the gameplay was climbing walls of blocks with things like ice blocks, bombs and traps thrown in as you progressed further. Every level was a set pattern so it was just a matter of watching a video and copying it. Not that this necessarily made it easier. My first playthrough was a bit hard at times as I was learning the ropes. At some point I was looking at a trophy guide and saw that Hard mode meant no undoing moves if you screw up which made me dread starting it. In the end it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and by that point I wasn’t making a lot of errors. Funnily enough the boss that I thought would give me the most trouble (not counting stage 9) was easy and another boss I had no real issues with previously caused me a lot of retries. Stage 9 is by far the hardest with the first boss form taking me about 2.5 to 3 hours to complete but at least his second form was a lot easier and quicker assuming RNG didn’t screw you. The Rapunzel mini game was not a lot of fun at all and I ended up playing it for 6 straight hours one evening to finish it. The true test of the platinum however is the Tower Of Babel. 4 randomly generated stages that get longer and harder. I did it in pairs (controlling both characters myself) as this meant the block puzzles were a bit easier and you had to climb a lot less blocks to reach the end (the 4th stage difference between single and pairs is over 100 steps which is a long way). Obelisk was the hardest as it threw all block types at you and it was easy to get screwed over if a mystery block turned out to be a bomb and it took me around 9 hours of trying. The final stage, while longer, was easier in that there were only 2 non-normal blocks to watch out for and they were generally easy to avoid. This is definitely one of my hardest and proudest plats to date and the next game I’ll be playing is going to be much, much easier.
Popular Post Redgrave
#152: The Legend of the X.R.C. - Tokyo Xanadu Ex+ I got this a few months before playing Trails of Cold Steel and while I did enjoy this one I didn't quite like it as much as Trails but that's okay since that's a pretty high bar anyway. But I guess the gameplay is supposed to lean more towards the Ys series which I've only played a demo of and for some reason it just didn't click with me that well until after a while. I still had fun with it though, although I felt near the end of the game and in the After Story it kind of dragged on especially with the dungeons. Still, it's a good game that I felt had its own charm and I gained a soft spot for it.

Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum # 233 Fun: 9/10 Difficulty: 8/10 (5/10 with co-op partner) From the developers of everyone's favorite game about dying a whole lot we have Bloodborne. The best way to describe it is take the Souls games, Gothic horror scenery, the work of HP Lovecraft, and a whole lot of where the hell do I go now and throw it all into a blender and you get Bloodborne. The combat is tighter with an array of different weapons that each has a 2nd form with its own set of attacks to guns to stagger enemies between their attacks. There's weapons that range from short but fast attackers that can switch into a longer reaching weapon with a slower attack speed or even a decently ranged sword with a 2nd form of a big mallet to hammer your enemies with. The bosses will take some trial and error but if you keep failing you can use a summoning bell you get to call for other players to help out. Later on the enemies become more and more horrific and unpredictable as if they've gone mad from gazing on the horrific creatures inhabiting the world. There are a ton of different ways to have your character grow from being a strength build which is great all around to an arcane build which is difficult to do anything with early but becomes a powerhouse later in the game. With a lot of practice and patience you can master the game and beat anything that you come across. As long as you don't get suddenly surprised from multiple angles and before you can do anything you're killed by something off screen. Huge Shoutout to my buddy @SnowxSakura for helping me throughout the game. Edited June 23, 2019 by Rick_Sanchez

Popular Post KaiserVendrix
Platinum #11 - Resident Evil 2 Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 5/10 A remake of a classic can go very wrong, but recently they have been quite good and Resident Evil 2 goes in that category. Sadly though it really didn't hit all the notes like the original, a lot of things didn't work that well. Some of the things was stripped and the all four of the scenarios felt far exactly the same as each other. Because of this it felt very average overall, Ghost survivors was cool but really was it needed? It was free so you can't honestly complain much about that.
StilRh
#148 My Big Sister (PS4) - I know it's a cheap plat but I enjoyed the vita version enough to want to double dip this title. Thanks to previous playthrough it took around an hour or two. Still enjoying the music and going over a few of the endings a second time made them all the better.
Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Unravel - PS4 (#213) "The Red thread" A truly beautiful platforming game. It has a very simple gaming mechanic of throwing a rope and swinging/climbing/tying. The puzzles are clever and straight forward and the platforming elements are also not terribly challenging. Playing the game was just refreshing and relaxing. It reminded me of playing Trine for the first time. Beautiful, refreshing, and simple. There are enemies but no combat, as your character, Yarny, is defenseless. It would have been nice to have a needle on hand for a particular series of birds........ Like Trine, the game was fairly easy and relaxing, but the platinum was not so much. The main challenge lies in getting the no death runs in on each level. Some levels have hazards such as water which can kill Yarny if you stay just a bit too long or end up going a bit too deep. This felt a bit arbitrary and some swings from points made death very difficult to avoid. The aforementioned birds were even more random and frustrating. It is just one small section, but the inevitability of failure felt like it was almost all luck. No death runs should be more skill based, but it did not feel that way here. Fortunately, the game is easy and the levels are fairly short, so it is only just a little bit of time and luck to earn the platinum. This is more about me complaining than the game actually being unfair. The art and music designs are amazing. Upon first starting up, the fidelity of the graphics pops. The backgrounds look like impressionist artwork, blurry, but still detailed enough to fully understand the composition and provide the supporting framework for the game. The foregrounds are crisp and sharp and fell very much like you are looking at real yarn move around actual elements. It is uncanny and amazing considering the scope of the game. The music is similarly remarkable. Settling somewhere between Irish folk and classical music, the music crescendos as moments of peril appear and cools off when the scene is serene. It definitely gives the game a sincerity that props the nostalgic and touching (?) story. I am pretty interested in checking out the sequel, specially with the co-op option. It seems like the puzzle mechanics would get much deeper and challenging.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#267 - Riddled Corpses EX Hardcore Gamer Unlock all trophies in Riddled Corpses EX What initially attracted me to this game was the art, and I stayed for the addictive gameplay. It's a rather basic twin stick shooter, but it's solid. I enjoy these kinds of games. The platinum is a little grindy considering the amount of actual content this game offers, but it didn't really bother me because I played it in short bursts on my Vita. Good stuff. Popular Post chozume
Kingdom Hearts III How long did we have to wait for this game? 10 years? Before I played this, I re-read the story of all the other KH's to keep up to date and even though I took my time to REALLY understand it, I had no clue what happened in KH3. Unfortunately you run from cutscene to cutscene and there are no more Final Fantasy characters. WHY??! KH was always a mix of FF and Disney characters, not it's just Disney and the KH characters. Pity.. I liked the battles; they were not too easy and not too hard, so that seemed very balanced to me. I also liked the Disney characters they put in. Mike and Sully, Rapunzel and even Jack Sparrow? Hell yeah! But having no Final Fantasy characters at all, was really disappointing. Now the big downside is the gameplay itself. Between the cutscenes you don't have much time to enjoy the game. There's a battle - cutscene. You walk a bit further - cutscene. Then there's a boss - cutscene. Beat the boss - cutscene. Yes, I'm a bit disappointed, hoped to get a better game after nearly a decade. But I had a good time with the game and some 'awwww' moments after seeing old characters I haven't seen in a while. The "no stone unturned" trophy should be a platinum trophy by itself imo. Finding ALL THE TREASURES in a game? Good lord..
Popular Post Hanstarkiller17
Platinum #33 100% #40 Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered I was super happy to get a chance to play this game on PS4, as I never wanted to touch it on Vita. The game was simple, but enjoyable, and the collectibles, which are usually the most boring and repetitive parts of the Assassin's Creed Series, were few and diverse enough that they weren't a pain at all. All around, this game was better than I expected, and the platinum was pretty satisfying to complete, despite being pretty easy!
Popular Post Copanele
No. 55 : Mortal Kombat 11 Platinum name : Elder God Completion time : 1 month, 3 weeks, 4 days Rarity : 16.53% (rare) Difficulty rate : 3/10 Fun rate : 7.5/10 Got the platinum for the latest iteration of Netherrealm's franchise, Mortal Kombat 11. This game was....allright in terms of fighting games. The major plus are the graphics and the sound. Some characters were improved(Jade and Kitana ) while others were really "downgraded" (poor Jaqui looks like a brawler mom who wants to talk with the local manager. All she is missing is a slipper). Story is...well as dumb as you'd expect from a MK game, though not as ridiculous as MK10 story. Overall the story was ok for me. Why I say the game was alright...the combat is abit lackluster. That's how I felt at least. I always viewed mortal kombat as that sweet spot between technical fighting games (such as street fighter ,tekken etc) and the combo crazy fighting games( guilty gear, blazblue, any game that lets you string 50 hits combos or more) . But with this iteration I feel they kinda lost their identity. The game is not bad by any means , just I doubt I will play it anymore in the future. I didn't feel like wanting to learn any new combos or progress in any way . I feel that injustice 2(the other netherrealm game I am playing currently ) is vastly superior to this. One mega bonus point though, they really went for fanservice. God damn Shang Tsung's voice is so friggin 10/10 and they called the original actor from the movies. I can't help but give a big ass thumbs up to the developers for that. Also Johnny Cage for the clown president of the earthrealm!
Popular Post Briste
Platinum #85 Kingdom Hearts II I did just one playthrough on Critical and finished the game in just under 60 hours and that time just flew by. It felt like a good book where you say 'just one more chapter before bed.' I stayed up past my bedtime several times because I just wanted to finish something up. The collectibles weren't terrible and the drop rates seemed much better in this game so I only had to spend minimal time farming materials. The battle system is great fun with the addition of the different Drive Forms. It's more fluid and seamless and Sora is pretty bad-ass when he gets a combo going. The Gummi missions are way more fun and visually stimulating. Building a ship is still pretty confusing when you start out, but much improved from KH1. The donut ship makes most of those trophies a breeze. Playing through the story on Critical wasn't bad at all and I found that the normal enemies killed me more often than bosses did. I was able to finish the main story at level 49, which actually worked out well because I was able to combine farming synth materials with leveling up Drive Forms and going after the collectibles. By the time I hit level 99, all I really had left to do was the Replica Data Battles and a couple of Coliseum runs. The toughest battle in the whole game for me was the Replica Data Battle (I'll use their numbers to avoid potential spoilers) against number III...in most battles, you can change into a Drive Form in case of emergency and kind of get your bearings again. I tend to revert out of Drive Form pretty quickly so that I can use it again as a safety net, but you can't really do that in the number III fight. You really need to stick to the mechanics of the fight and the margin for error is super slim. It seemed my 'Jumps' would reflect off his Aero Shield and I would hover above him instead of doing damage...I beat every other fight in 5 tries or less, but number III took me a solid 30 tries...he also caused me to make a pretty annoying mistake... To enter the Replica Battles, you click on the numbered doorway you wish to fight, and press then . After you die you press to continue or then to load a previous game. After one particularly frustrating battle with number III, where I had him to about two health bars left for the win, I got stun locked and died. I was super annoyed and instinctively pressed and spammed to continue and try again....well that ended up loading my previous save....I had thought I had saved after I had beaten number I, however apparently I just zoned to save my gear changes. When I returned to the Data Replica room, I saw it was even worse than that. I now had to redo numbers I, II, V, VII, and XI I wasn't that worried since I knew that I had already done them...but it was a bit demoralizing after my challenges with number III. I'm sure it's pretty common knowledge at this point that the game is great, but I can't recommend it enough. I wouldn't say that Critical is so hard that the Platinum can't be done in only one playthrough...there are some frustrating moments for sure...but I shaved 30 hours off of the suggested time it takes to Plat so it's worth considering if you haven't played this game yet.

Popular Post RuneEyesDragon
Platinum #16 Introduced to this little gem thanks to Games Done Quick and their recent "Frame Fatales" woman-only speedrun marathon. The commentary was so hilarious and the playthrough was so awesome I had to try it out. I had hopes but I knew that the PS4 version had no glitches in it so but at least it was fun... until I got 99.9% and found out that I had missed a tiny area in Pirate Shore that was so insignificant - it has a puzzle leading to a door but there was nothing behind that door since I had gotten 100%. If you are a Shantae fan, try this out. I never expected to fall in love with a Wonder Boy title. 13 hours ago, chozume said: How long did we have to wait for this game? 10 years? 13.
