Popular Post Sinastran
#75 - A Plague Tale: Innocence Innocence Damn, what an experience. It's rare to have such high expectations of a title and not be disappointed when you play it. Hell, I was outright impressed by it, even though I was already expecting greatness. The story of a young woman and her little brother surviving and bonding through a plague infested France was a very gripping and at times touching tale. While the game obviously delves into supernatural aspects it never ruined the historical immersion. The game knew what it wanted to be and never tried to do too many things at the same time. Personally, I liked how the grounded, human story between Amicia, her brother Hugo along with their companions was given context and flavour by a larger scheme of (un)holy conspiracies and world-changing events. All of this was further enhanced by three major things. Visuals, sound and voice acting. This game is beautiful. From the picturesque countryside forests and fields, to the plague-ridden ghost towns and enormous, corpse filled battlefields, A Plague Tale: Innocence stuns you with its graphical presentation and forces you to stop in your tracks just to take in the scenery. I had numerous moments like these, but one that stood out perhaps more than others was the aforementioned battlefield. A field of mud and slaughter, what greets you are countless (and I really mean countless) bodies of dead French and English soldiers, stretching as far as the eye can see. To enhance this haunting imagery is a thick fog that creeps across the battlefield, with dots of light coming from torches in the distance. Perhaps the best way to describe it is to imagine you're looking at those visually enhanced promo pictures for games and then imagine you're actually playing them in that quality - that's A Plague Tale: Innocence. If I were to give one negative in regards to visuals, it has to be the facial animation. When in their neutral state, the faces look absolutely incredible. However, as soon as people start talking they go from lifelike to more akin puppets. That is of course the time you need to remind yourself that this is not a AAA-title, and the fact that they managed to beat those titles in so many aspects gives them some leeway in my book. The sound is superb as well, with ambient, medieval-inspired tracks that enhance each and every moment you find yourself in, from the hectic chase scenes and the sorrow of loss and death, to the few moments of respite when the game allows you to calm your mind and collect your thoughts. The music is there to complement the story and dialogue. Whilst not afraid to leave an impression that makes you hum its melodies moments after they have ceded, it never intrudes and the sound director clearly understood that sometimes, less is more. I'd like to give a special shoutout to the sling as well. The sound design of this deadly little tool is spot on, and the satisfying snap it makes when you fling a ball of skull-crushing death towards an enemy makes each shot feel significant. And it should, because you're not a killing machine. You're a teenage girl from a noble family whose only dirt under her nails previous to the story has been completely voluntary. And unlike other games that try to portray the main character as an innocent soul forced to kill, *cough* Tomb Raider *cough*, this game never gives you too many options in how you go about ending someone's life. Stealth is encouraged by the game, and if I have one recommendation to make for someone who hasn't played this game yet, it's to not overuse the sling for its deadly properties. Try to minimize the amount of kills you make and use it to manipulate your enemies instead. It makes for a far more satisfying journey. Now for the voice acting (I'm almost done, honest). I debated with myself before I started the game whether I would play it with French voices or English ones. The game is, after all, situated in France. But except for bon, merci and au contraire, my knowledge of the French language is non-existent. Thus I decided to go with the English voices. Mainly because, although my objective with playing in French would have been more immersion, I think it would ironically have resulted in less immersion. I would have to have kept my eyes on the subtitles instead of focusing on the scene itself and the delivery of the lines. It's for this reason I will likely end up playing Ghost of Tsushima in English too. Anyways, back to the game at hand. The English voices are amazing, with lovely and not at all humorous French accents. Seriously though, the delivery from these voice actors are worthy of every prize they hopefully got nominated for. Amicia especially just wipes the floor with anything else I've heard in games recently, and her desperate screams whilst traversing through that dreamlike chapter of the game literally gave me goosebumps. Now, s'il vous plaît, bring on the sequel. Edited January 7, 2020 by SinisterPledge
Popular Post Ala-Arska
Lost Sea Bermuda Hero Collect all other trophies Fun fact: that's 8 seconds faster than Super Mario Bros. speedrun World Recordohwhothehellcares Let's get Lost tonight, you could be my black Kate Moss tonight. I'm confused. What does Lost Sea mean? Is the sea lost here? Is it a play on words, like Lost, see? Um..Aest Sol, ist sol, is Sun? I haven't slept well in days, and I think it's starting to show...am I lost? Did this game just Platinum me? Aksra-Alat Sol? Onto this particular vehicular...Lost Sea is a top down roguelike adventure, set on bunch of different islands. Every level is randomly generated, and you must find a Tablet on an island to proceed to the next one. There's roughly 3-6 levels each world, in 5 worlds total. Five bosses too, each being the same Pirate but more beaten up the further you get I got pretty beaten up too along the way. Mainly because of the no-mercy permanent death function. Each time you die, you go back to beginning. That's fine, not the first time I've wasted hours because of a goddamn video game Challenge runs (speedrun, no upgrades, no items, no crew to help) were the ones that needed further attention. There is a save possibility nowadays, which quite frankly torpedoes the point of extra carefulness. You still gotta be sharp, but now with a comfort blanket and a pacifier. Waa Waa Lost Sea is as hard as you want it to be. It has booty, RNG, shipwrecks and pirates ahoy! Decent for a decent price
Popular Post vampiresarego
#61 - Death Stranding (PS4) 29th Dec 2019 Greatest of Great Deliverers 1 month, 2 weeks, 6 days I absolutely loved this game!! I can definitely see why it has been getting all the accolades it has, why it is winning awards, and why it's on a lot of "best of" lists for 2019. Truth be told, when I first started this game, I was a little unsure of it. It's weird and nothing is explained very well. You are delivering packages? The one thing is for sure, it only takes a minute and you know you are playing a Kojima game, no doubt about that. But, after an initial couple of sittings with this game, I absolutely became obsessed with it. The entire month of December I dedicated to this game, I thought about it while I was at work, while I was on vacation, while I was taking a shower. After spending over 100 hours with this game, I almost never felt like I was beating my head against the wall. Sure, it's about 100 hours of fetch missions, but for some reason that mechanic is approached in an intelligent way and never seems to get old. This is also a game where they creatively used the open world mechanic. Sure, it's one big sandbox, and yes you can go pretty much go anywhere, but the way the story rolls out the world makes you want to slowly explore and not rush to see every little thing. Honestly, I haven't been this in love with a Hideo Kojima game since I played Metal Gear Solid for the PS1. The trophies are pretty straight forward, most of them you will get just for playing through the game, but it does a get a little grindy at the end. But, if you are like me, and you want to get the most out of the story, the grindy bits sort of fade into the background as you are unlocking this bizarre world. If you didn't get this one already for Christmas, go out and buy this game and give it a play. True, it might not be for everyone, but I still think it's worth your time. Good luck! BB!!! Popular Post ZoutjeNL
Platinum #21 Crash Bandicoot (also 1000 Trophies milestone) Enjoyment: 8 Difficulty: 8 Crash Bandicoot, our favourite mascot is back. I have fond memories of this game on the PS1. I don't think I got very far as I don't remember a lot of levels. While being close to my milestone I wanted to save a special one for the #1000 Trophy milestone! I immediately notice how terrible of a platform player I am. Some of the easyier levels took me quite a few attempts. I got the game over screen far too many times I like to admit. One thing I learned through games is to never give up and ultimately it started to pay off! It took me more hours than the average player to complete the game but I had a good time on my playthrough so that is all what matters right? After completing the games the gems were up next. I started with the keys and color gems as they are required for some of the levels. The color gems were definitely the most tricky because you can't die. With the experience I slowly obtained through my playthrough it wasn't too bad. No time restriction made it a lot easyier. Now onto to the most difficult and ultimately one of the most frustration experiences I have had in a while. If you played the game you know exactly what I am talking about... the time trials! As I explained in the first part I am not the best at platformers, now under pressure with a time restriction it made me even worse. I had trouble with many levels. The ones that stood out for me were: Road to Nowhere, Sunset Vista, Fumbling in the Dark and by far the hardest of them all Stormy Ascent! The last one really made my blood boil. I haven't sworn so much at a screen in quite a long time... I was so relieved when I completed Stormy Ascent. At the moment of playing Stormy Ascent I did not enjoy myself my controller might have been thrown around during this time... Gladly nothing came close to Stormy Ascent and the overall experience was enjoyable. Thanks to the DLC I could skip one map so thankfully I did not have to have a similar experience with The High Road. Ultimately I enjoyed my time with Crash. I am looking forward to both Crash 2 and 3 and I don't think I played them as a kid so it is a complete new experience. I also read that the games are a lot easyier than crash 1 so that makes me even more excited to play them.

Popular Post VoxAnimi
Platinum #32- Infamous Second Son Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Ah, I like to reminisce about this particular title since I hold fond memories of it. The first PS4 title I was anticipating since it was announced back in February 2013, and it was my first pre-order for the system as well. While I did not initially play it at launch due to time constraints at the time, I found myself immersed in this delightful title when I finally got around to it years ago. I deemed it to be among my favorite PS4 titles even, although in retrospect, it has since been surpassed by other quality titles that have released since then, although it does not detract from my enjoyment regarding Second Son. I decided to return to this on here since I've been yearning to complete every Infamous game in entirety on my profile, and it still was a worthwhile experience after this many years. The best aspect of the game to me are the variety of powers you acquire as it provides a nice change of pace and some versatility depending on your mood. Like switching from the neon power to take advantage of the headshot feature and then proceeding to use the video power to obliterate a group of enemies via the hellfire swarm special attack is just one of the many methods you can use to your advantage. I personally found myself to enjoy the neon and video powers due to the plethora of available attacks they offered along with being able to traverse across the city rather efficiently. While the smoke power was also enjoyable to use, it felt more tedious in terms of traversal and I tended to use it more sporadically once the other powers were available. Regarding the rest of the game, the story was somewhat intriguing if not hindered by the fact it was a relatively short experience, and I felt certain characters didn't have an opportunity to be fleshed out in terms of detail such as Eugene. Another notable aspect for it were the relatively repetitive side missions, aside from the graffiti and district showdown ones. I would have appreciated more variety, and maybe even some missions pertaining to karma decisions such as in the previous iterations of the series. Despite those minor flaws, I still found myself immersed in this title just as much as I did during my first playthrough of it. Trophy-wise, it's a pretty straightforward game. The combat trophies can be attained without much of a hassle, and since the game displays all the side content on the map, it makes it much less of a hassle to pursue them. The expert difficulty wasn't that difficult as well, especially if you bothered to upgrade some of the powers, which I did thankfully. However, it was a fun platinum that offered variety in terms of the tasks to fulfill, and it didn't feel tedious to obtain. Overall, I was glad with my decision to complete the entire Infamous series as it's an entertaining series that fulfills its purpose of being super hero-esque games with a variety of powers at your disposal. If you find these sorts of titles to be compelling games, I'd urge to you to delve into them. I'm working on clean-up on my profile and backlogged titles for the foreseeable future, so I hope to finish up Tron: Evolution next before moving onto a backlogged title. Popular Post Meettchii
I thought I would combine two plats in one post soooooo.... *STRIKES A POSE* Platinum #11 - JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Eyes of Heaven JoJo's Bizarre Adventures Earn all trophies. My boy Gyro Zeppeli is playable, 10/10, 'nuff said. *strikes another pose* If only Ringo Roadagain was playable too, either that or a mini game where you get to duel him, but nope... oh well. I have the PS3 JoJo fighting game downloaded and ready to be played and platted, I will do that once I am done with Dad of Boi: The Ascension Arc. Moving on...... Platinum #12 - Freedom Wars Joy and Prosperity Earn all trophies. This game was reason I bought a PS Vita. This was actually my second time earning the platinum, I first got it on another account few years ago. The art style combined with the gameplay, character customization, abductors design (specially the Ramosa-class ones) and ost made for an enjoyable experience. I wish this game received the Toukiden and Gravity Rush treatment, a PS4 remaster followed by a sequel, but nope... thank you, Sony! *cries*
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #454: Pixel Devil and the Broken Cartridge Difficulty: 2/10 (4/10 without God Mode) Playtime: 30 minutes to an hour Enjoyment: 4.5/10 Retro platformer with all the effort and staying power of... well, 98% of its ilk. If you've played one, you've played them all... but I'd say this is forgettable even by those standards. There is a point at which imitation and homage just becomes unoriginal plagiarism, and PDatBC crosses this line within the first five minutes. It's a bland mashup of elements from Mega Man, DuckTales, Chip & Dale, etc. (all of which can actually be played in their original form on PS4 already, btw) and other infinitely superior games that just makes you wanna go play those instead. Now, to be fair, the pixel art and palettes are actually rather pleasing. Nothing exceptional, but I've seen much worse... and hey, I like starting these things out positive-like, and this is about the extent of my positive plauditry anyway. The jumping is as unsatisfying and unreliable as could be, and even when the game tries to mix things up with different abilities that can affect your environs as well as give you the edge in battle, they're used way too sparingly. But conversely, the devs have a raging stiffy for those damn Mega Man disappearing platforms, to which I believe four sections are dedicated. I'd have given the game a chance without God Mode if it were sufficiently fun, but if you hadn't caught on already, it's just not. Seems like a minor challenge without it though, so if you're into that stuff, go nuts. The references and metatastic excuse plot are way too tongue-in-cheek to carry any kind of charm. I'd also like to point out I'd be the #1 guy on the leaderboard right now if the game didn't screw me out of a trophy during my first playthrough and crash at various points. If you have $7.99 to spare and you want a cheap and easy platinum this'll provide that and little more. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone if trophies weren't a thing, but then if they were, I'd never have bought it to begin with, so... oh well.
Popular Post Deluziion90
Platinum #230 - Control Director of the FBCUnlock all other trophies Difficulty 5/10 Fun 6/10 Story A story which is weird from start to end. But to make it short I just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought. The graphics are beautiful, the explosions and gameplay are fun but I just couldn't get into the story. The ending was also really weird which could have been so much better. I think it's best if your reading this and still wondering if you should buy this. Just check some youtube gameplay because the start of this game doesn't explain much what's going on. Road to platinum: - Side missions: are your usual thing with some weird stuff for example; Clear some mold, kill some bad guys or get rid of evil stuff out of flamingo's or refrigerators.(yes that's a thing) and that's about it. There's 18 side missions and if you fully unlock the map you should be done in less then 2 hours. - Kills and abilities: If you didn't check online or read around this game has some crazy glitches which can even be so bad that you need a second playthrough. With some bad stuff happening to my game I had to reload a previous mission and lost about 6 hours of progress. But here comes the fun part somehow it remembered all my ability progress and side missions. At the near end of the game My 15 side missions trophy popped and I was no where near where I should be. This also happened for my 100% ability trophy. I missed about 6 more abilities and there it was my trophy. Overall the game was fun for what it was but I just encountered to many glitches which just killed the fun for me.
Popular Post Larzz
Platinum #60 Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order I’m a huge Star Wars fan and loved Sekiro and the Uncharted games, so it’s safe to say I was pretty hyped for this game. Sadly it was the disappointment of the year for me. With the games I mentioned above as inspiration it had huge potential, but instead the gameplay is extremely mediocre on almost every level. And technically it feels rushed throughout the game. Loads of pop-in, 5 second freezes, bad performance, poor graphics and lighting..... luckily I didn’t have any trophies glitch on me, because that would’ve made an already frustrating experience even worse. I read somewhere that the sequel is already in development and I really hope it gets 1 or 2 years extra development time.... Popular Post Kristycism
#124 - Atari Flashback Classics Volume 1 Platinum Trophy - 0.69% (eeeyyyyyy) (Couldn't they have made a better Plat name?) Time to plat - ~15h Difficulty - 3/10 for most, 8/10 for two trophies So, I joined the ABC 2020 event, and decided to put myself through a bunch of hard Plats for the year, because apparently I'm a masochist without really knowing it. This came first on the alphabet, so I decided it was as good a place to start as any. Plus, I love old arcade-style games, so I've actually been thinking of picking this up for a while, but I wasn't sure if I could justify the price tag just for the small number of games within the collection that I was actually interested in (MILLIPEDE!!). But, it's on PSNow and I recently subscribed, so I figured "why the hell not?" The game is...well, pretty much exactly what you'd expect. A bunch of old classics all bundled together in a single package. I haven't played many of the originals since I'm a little too young for that, so I can't really say how the PS4 versions play in comparison to the old games. But for the most part, they do play fine. Some of them, the controls are really awkward to get used to, but maybe that was the case in the originals too, I wouldn't know either way. There's a decent range of games though, so anyone who likes old school stuff is bound to find something they enjoy within the collection. And whenever some of my older friends come round for a visit, I'll probably suggest we download this again and play together as there's some good co-op in a lot of the games if you have a friend to play them with. Now on to the trophies. For the most part, they were super easy and barely required any effort or skill at all, and can be done within a few hours. The only real obstacles on the way to Platinum were: "We Don't Need No Forticfication" - this one is more luck reliant than anything else, and is honestly the trophy that pissed me off the most. Trying to ensure that you actually have all of your wall removed was the worst part, as the projectiles could easily bounce off the remaining segment of wall and into your zone, causing you to lose. Once the wall is completely removed, it's still quite hard as you have to deal with three projectiles, but it's still doable if you can get to that point. Be prepared to spend a while on this one though. "Digging Deep" - for most people, this is apparently the Platinum-breaker. The speed of enemies on this one is insane, and there's so much to keep track of at once that it's definitely very difficult. However, each run only lasts 30-40 seconds (if you make it all the way...most runs for me ended after 4-5 seconds, but shhhh, those electric and ones are just mean, okay?). So even though it's tough, it's not tough for long. This trophy alone took me at least 4 hours (not in one sitting though, that would have destroyed me). But I could feel myself slowly improving over time, and more consistently making it further and further, so even though it was literally hundreds of attempts, it still felt like I was progressing somehow. I think I mostly got lucky when I actually finally did it, as I sat there in a state of mild shock like "eh? I...did it? I really did it? Wut?" for a while at the end-of-level part after passing the spikes. I'm not sure I could do it again without another hour or so of attempts though... "For All Insectkind!" / "Space Jockey" - these two were also very tough for me, and I honestly found "For All Insectkind!" significantly harder than "Digging Deep". But that's only because I didn't realise until after getting the Platinum and talking to my friend about it, that you can actually exploit the save states for the game and back up your save after each level. Which obviously trivialises the scores for them, since you never lose a lot of progress. If I'd known this at the time, I'd 100% have used it, because Yars Revenge was seriously pissing me off when I kept getting to 200-250k points then losing all my lives. I did, however, get very good at shooting the Swirl mid-flight for extra points and a bonus life in all of those attempts, so I could probably still get to 300k consistently if I did it again. "Legs! Legs Everywhere!" - another one that, if done legitimately, is fairly tough, as the score you need it quite high. But apparently, you can turn cheat mode on, making you invincible to almost everything, which again will trivialise this one. I love Millipede, and it's the main thing I was interested in from the collection, so I did it the proper way. But for those that don't care (which I normally wouldn't, and if cheat mode trivialised any other trophy, I'd 100% have used it, I just love Millipede enough to want to play properly), this trophy can be made very easy. Anyway, first Plat of the year! Yay! I think this was a good way to start, right?

Popular Post madbuk
#351 - Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age This game surpassed my expectations. I think I've only ever plat one turn based game before (Ni no Kuni 1) so I was a little hesitant about going into this and expected I would drop it like all the other turn based games I've already started (for example Persona 4 Golden and Final Fantasy X.) However, I didn't stop playing it to play other games instead at all. This kept me engaged from start... almost to end. The game kinda falls apart towards the end and the story collapses imo, which was very disappointing. I won't spoil how or why, but it did mean I finished the game on a negative note. Everything before that was very good though, I like the characters, the locations were diverse, the story had good twists and there were many different subplots, quite a few of which I'd say were even better than the main plot. The combat was decent although very easy, it got to a point where I could just spam X to keep attacking and not have to worry at all (I kept my party members in "fight smartly" mode and only controlled the main character.) I'm also impressed with the level scaling, at the start of the game you earn 1-10XP per fight and late game you're earning thousands, and there was never a noticeable spike in XP gain unless you're actively farming it out. It all felt very natural. The dungeons were nothing special, as I expect from JRPGs at this point. The few puzzles available are super easy and it's just a case of running through rooms to get to the end and fighting stuff along the way, just like Tales games. Most of the towns were above par (from my JRPG experiences at least) and were a lot of fun to explore. I enjoy exploring JRPG towns and this definitely felt like a step up from what Tales offers on that front. I'm interested in Dragon Quest XII but I don't think it'll be a day one buy.

So I decided to get the ball rolling with a PS Plus game. Not a terrible game, but not great either. Supposedly the game was created to mock the state of AAA titles and the glitches they got. Still I feel like they should have focused on actually creating a good game instead of this. Nevertheless it's a silly game to pass a few hours on. Flapmaster ended up being less frustrating than I thought it would be. Took me about an hour to get that out of the way, which is pretty much the only difficult trophy in the game. Popular Post Mapa
#364 - Zombie Army Trilogy You have no reason to fear the dead Platinum Trophy Fun game to play, especially coop, which I played it with @HailHale81. The Horde maps, and the campaign. Game is easier when you have more people since it has a setting where you can choose "less" zombies, and even in some sections there's still a lot of them. I think we died less in Sniper Elite difficulty than our normal walkthrough lol. Enjoyed playing it. #365 - Nex Machina Nex Incarnate Complete all trophies I really love HouseMarque game like Resogun, Dead Nation, Stardust and this. Im good at them and enjoy them quite a lot. This one was hard and for what I read they made it harder, so I played the harder version of it lol. What sucks, is that for some reason they didn't add online coop, even the "multiplayer" is not really that. Thanks to shareplay I was able to play coop with @HailHale81, although we had issues on arcade if we werent fast enough (shareplay lasts an hour), so once it gets disconnected is automatically game over, it doesnt pause, it just ends and it sucks. But I loved the game. Edited January 8, 2020 by Mapa
