Popular Post Wavergray
Stock questions. 1. How did you come up with your PSN name? Well Cj stems from my initials and I much prefer it to my actually name. I have been going by Cj, on and off for over 15 years and it seems to fit so happy to stick with it. Shaitan (or often spelt Shaytan) derives from Islamic mythology meaning the devil. Although I don’t prescribe to any particular faith I have done some reading on Islam and it is fascinating. The story apparently goes that Shaitan refers to all evil, a manifestation of Iblis a former angel cast out from heaven. Upon being cast out his primary objective was to encourage humans to commit evil, deception and other delicious debauchery. By birth I am a Scorpio, so by nature born fierce and guided by Pluto, the planet of transformation and regeneration. Considering it now it is probably the perfect name for me. I am equal measure kind, harsh, generous, tolerant and intolerant and always moving forward. It goes without saying I enjoy provoking humans, with my current tastes running to gamers on Profiles. 2. What games convinced you get your PlayStation 3, Playstation Vita, and PlayStation 4? We never had a gaming console growing up as kids. We did have a PC (which from memory had a 40 Megabyte HD – wow weren’t the 80’s something ). So when I got the PS3 I was well out of my childhood years. To be honest looking back now I have no real idea why I went with Sony instead of Microsoft. It definitely wasn’t for trophies because I remember having no idea what they were. So for PS3 I am going to say Tiger Wood PGA Tour 11 and Assassins Creed 2. Playstation 4 was an impulse purchase in November 2014, although due to work and travel I didn’t actually open the box until January. Again Assassins Creed forced my hands, after playing Black Flag on PS3 I very much wanted to play Unity (which through a twist of fate ended up being my first plat ). The Vita arrived in March of 2015 and was suppose to be a chance to play on work travels, although that rarely happened until I stumbled on Superbuu’s Weplay of Ys: Memories of Celceta, a fantastic game. Since then my Vita is mainly a rhythm game and VN machine but I really enjoy it. 3. What are your top 5 game series and why? Tough one, because I have only really been playing for 3 years I missed out on a lot of PS3 games, particularly early entries in many series. I also only tend to play standalone games so have had very little exposure to many of the wonderful series that I often hear mentioned. So with that in mind I only have four: Forza Horizon (2&3) – My go to open world arcade racing game. In fact my go to game period. The only reason I picked up the Xbox One and then Xbox X. Game looks fantastic, handles well, has a load of content and seamless online integration. H3 is set in Australia which is a bonus. I hope one day Playstation can have a similar game. Hatsune Miku (Diva f/ Diva f2 / Diva X / Future Tone ) – what a discovery rhythm games were for me. I stumbled onto them via a recommendation from a mate and haven’t looked back. Will never forget how hard I thought Diva f was when I first started. Little did I know the truly cruel world of Japanese rhythm games to come, games clearly designed for people under 30. Anyone over is looking at some serious RSI waiting to happen, although the intensity does pick up when you know you only have 3 to 4 chances at that tough song before your arm locks up and you are stuffed for the day. From a game stand point they are all high quality, visually appealing, and packed with content / replayability ( thanks to the gift grinding required ) Assassins Creed - played most of them and even though I know they have mixed reviews have enjoyed them all for what they are. Particular highlights were Unity and Syndicate. Loved playing in Paris and London respectively. The Jack the Ripper DLC still stands as one of my favourite DLC ever. Final Fantasy (XIV / XV ) – I am probably not well versed enough in Final Fantasy to list it here having only played the latest two numbered titles. Nevertheless I love what I have played so far. XV for the story and character relationships, and FXIV because it is astonishing in both breadth and scope. So much thanks to Kaley for continuing to encourage, motivate and abuse me into getting into this series. You have definitely converted me to the cause mate. 4. What are your top 5 games and why? Forza Horzion 3 – pinnacle of open world arcade racing. If it gets better on console I am still to see it. Final Fantasy XV – this game just resonates with me, the relationships, Noctis’s journey, the beautiful open world, fantastic music score and some epic boss battles. This was my first Final Fantasy game and I think the absolute best way to get into the series. Very user friendly and a great way to ease yourself into the bigger games like XIV Project Diva X – the first game I have ever spent more than 100 hours in. Loved everything about this. The final event in the event title proved very challenging for me, primarily because I don’t think anyone should be required to move their fingers that fast ever. I ended up with the controller on a table and playing with two hands, one finger per button. Looked like a madman but it worked. Final Fantasy XIV – my first (and probably only MMO). I don’t know how long I have put into it (or wish too) but would be guessing well over 100 hours now. Such a massive game but surprisingly very little filler content. The story is both engaging and well balanced with dungeons and raids. Perhaps my only complaint would be the queuing for raids (16 people ) can often take a long time, which is frustrating when trying to progress the story. Oh and the trophy list is stupid. Just approaching the final expansion and it seems to only be getting better which is great. Taipan (1982 ) – Turn based strategy game based on trading resources set in China and the open sea. I have fond memories of playing this in the late 80’s/early 90’s on our first family computer. Very much a nostalgia trip but I still remember how sad it was the day the computer died and we lost that game forever. Ironically my partner found it for me again this year for my birthday. It has been ported to numerous systems including IOS, so now I can have it with me everywhere on the Ipad. Probably would shock many “young” gamers today even though it is simple in design it still holds up as well now as it did 30 years ago, well at least in my eyes. 5. Top 5 TV shows and/or anime, why, and would you recommend them to people? Can I cheat a little and list one movie. Suits – hip, funny, intelligent and based around lawyers. Perfect mix for me, sort of like a fusion of The Practice and Boston Legal. Who wouldn’t want to be Harvey ? American Horror Story – Every season this show continues to amaze me. Such a stellar cast and how they portray completely different characters from season to season is a testament to their amazing acting skills. Jessica Lange is my favourite female actress and watching her particularly in Asylum (season 2) is always a pleasure. Such a shame she has left the series. Kathy Bates is another personal favourite and her role in Roanoke (Season 6) is very impressive. If you don’t mind mild horror then this is a great watch if for no other reason than the interplay between the actors. Black Mirror – what can you say about this show other than it is a must watch. I imagine it is not for everyone but any show that can leave you feeling shocked, disgusted, amazed, appalled, dirty, laugh and sad in equal measures is truly unique. Creativity that goes beyond the everyday and incredible insight into where we are all heading in the future. Perhaps one of the few shows that has changed my perspective on certain things, and definitely left me pondering issues for days. Sword Art Online – Kirito …… Asuna ……. Kirito ……. Enough said. ( As an aside if you are a fan you should pickup Cyberdimension Neptunia 4 Goddess Online, it merciless rips into SAO in a hilarious laugh at loud way ) Wonder Boys (2000) – Probably not an amazing film but more a rites of passage for me. At the time I was at university studying in the creative fields and was surround by many living the bohemian lifestyle. It was fantastic. The way this film portrays that time in your life where you are discovering yourself, and then desperately trying to change yourself, (only to realise 10 years later that you were fine all along). Michael Douglas is great and Katie Holmes just portrays that girl next door you want to spend the rest of your life with character so well ( ahh Dawson’s Creek ). Love coming back to this film once a year, it reminds me of where I was, who I was and the lived experience I have had to get to where I am now. Everyone must have a film/book/tv show like that I imagine. 6. Top 5 favorite music bands/group/artist? Working in the creative field I have been lucky enough to be exposed to 1000’s of different artists and loads of different styles of music. My taste is very eclectic and mood dictates what is in rotation so will just list 5 differing styles and maybe someone might discover something new they like. Sigur Ros – perfect chill out / seeking inspiration / earthy music. With or without ganja Metallica – Black album ….. nuff said cause nothing else matters Eminem – fuelled anger / hate / irony and intelligence master manipulator of the English language Mischa Maisky (Cellist/Classical) – Bach Cello suites in particular. Romantic interpretation that the purists dislike but hey I am sure Bach was a product of his times. Put him in the romantic period and his brilliance would have surely embraced the joys of musical excess Branford Marsalis (Saxophone / Jazz) – why are you so talented, it is not fair both classical / jazz and fusion. Damn you but thanks for the amazing lines. 7. Your favorite platinum? Project Diva X 8. Your least favorite platinum? Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 9. Have you ever been tempted to switch over to the Xbox/Nintendo/PC gaming ecosystems? I have Xbox and Switch. I enjoy them both but it has been difficult to find the time. I find the hype / obsession with the Switch somewhat over rated but then I think it is a nostalgia machine so much of it is lost on me. I view PC gaming as the final frontier. A mate made the switch this year and is loving it, so no doubt I am just biding my time until leaping in as well. I have a feeling once you go to PC you never come back. 10. If you could have one game from any gaming generation be remade or rereleased what would it be? Taipan, would feel like I have come full circle. Although having it on Ipad is pretty sweet. 11. How far are you willing to go for a platinum? Well I am working on my partner with the aim of adopting a Korean child (preferably 6-7yrs old as no one wants those first 5 years). So I guess the question is what wouldn’t I do to access the famed Korean platinum stacks. PSNP community questions. 1. What have you got against ultra rare trophies? @FilmFanatic Thanks for the questions Film, hope you have been well. I don’t have anything against Ultra rare trophies. A trophy is a trophy. I do think the UR system is flawed obviously. It is not really a determination of skill but rather more a determination of how many people bought a certain game versus finishing that game. Now of course some of the games require high degree of skill but many are just widely purchased by a large set of people that have no interest in trophies. I find it amusing how many UR hunters chase down sporting titles to boost their UR numbers. Perhaps there is a high degree of skill in this, I don’t know but it highlights the reality of UR trophies. I am lucky enough to be tolerated by a couple of highly skilled gamers in particular DarkSamuraii- who plays some of the hardest games possible. He has the most patience and skill of any gamer I know and doesn’t care what a trophy is rated, he is playing the game to challenge himself. It is one of the characteristics I like most about him. I imagine many of the pure UR hunters are like this too. Unfortunately some UR hunters seem to feel they can use their dubious UR trophies to distinguish themselves from everyone else. In reality they are just shooting angles, common practice in the volume hunting circles. So in the end I guess we are all pretty similar, a trophy is a trophy. 2. What’s your ideal profile completion rate? @FilmFanatic Realistically 30% ( Ideally 15% but that is unobtainable now), unfortunately I fear I am running out of games to buy to manage to drop it back down to the depths of the glory days. 3. What’s your favourite sheep joke for individuals such as myself? @FilmFanatic A picture is worth a thousand words. 4. Out of all the ones you've earned, which is your favorite platinum of all time? @ERICVOLTAGE Thanks for the question Eric, Project Diva X, but it will probably be replaced with FFXIV one day. 5. As the proclaimed Sensei of Shame, have there been any games that have been too shameful even for you? @Mesopithecus Thanks for the questions Mesopithecus, I hope you are well. I am still to meet a game I will not try, although I don’t think I would have another stack of Hakuoki Shinkai, or any Hakuoki game in me. 6. With playing a lot of repeats of games, what do you do to combat feelings of burnout? @Mesopithecus I actually quite like playing repeat games, there is something comforting about the “known” I think. I run multiple systems so am always on the lookout for games that will work well playing at the same time, be that VN’s, point and clicks or other shorter titles. I often play without the sound so it is a great time to catch up on podcasts. In my rotation at the moment is Sword and Scale, Criminal, Gamers with Jobs, Podcast Beyond, Games scoop and IGN Xbox podcast. I don’t particularly like listening to music when I play, to distracting but have recently started listening to audio books. I will confess listening to Stephen Fry read Harry Potter is my current guilty obsession. 7. At 1,321 games currently played, are there any games that you wish you had spent more time with? @Mesopithecus Great question, of the games I have started probably not to many. I tend to play things for as long as I enjoy it and then just move on. I don’t really feel any need to go back, sometimes I suppose but rarely. Now for the games I haven’t “really” started then yes many. The main games I hope to spend some time with this year would be Nier Automata, Final Fantasy 12, Persona 5, Ys Lacrimosa of Dana, Zelda Breadth of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Forza 7, Ori and the Blind Forest and Quantum break …… mmm could be a big year. 8. What do you do as a hobby other than play video games/ trophy hunting? @Beyondthegrave07 Thanks for the questions Beyondthegrave. I am a golf tragic. Been playing since I was a kid and pretty obsessed. I try to play or practise a few times a week. Handicap is increasing slowly unfortunately but still clinging to single figures, barely. Also love snowboarding, not the greatest snow here in Australia but a yearly trip or two is always on the cards. Have been lucky enough to do some boarding in Canada and the US, including Jackson’s Hole, man that place is amazing. Although I am pretty sure a repeat trip there will quite possibly kill me. 9. Approximately how many games are in your backlog, and what game is last to play on the list? @Beyondthegrave07 I actually don’t really know, I doubt I will ever run out of games and quite possible the last one will be whichever one I am working on when it’s my time to move on to the next adventure. Hopefully it is not a VN but hey that might be most fitting. 10. Do you think it would alter which games you played if the trophy system was discontinued? @DrBloodmoney Great question Doctor, I have a feeling it might alter whether I actually play games at all. I enjoy the trophy system as I like to have a long term goal that exceeds any one game. It also seems to make completing games more relevant. On the Xbox I have no interest in achievements and don’t even know what is on the list. I find that I tend to play the same game a lot more too. I am pretty sure that if Sony did discontinue trophies I would most likely reduce my gaming significantly and move to Xbox, ironically I prefer almost everything about that system except achievement hunting. 11. What is the worst game you've ever suffered through for the platinum? @MattyH16 Thanks for the questions Matt and a Happy New Year too you and your family. Congrats on a fine year of trophy hunting and an impressive platinum haul. I really didn’t enjoy Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, the Egg roll challenges in Ice Age 3 were BS and the grind for the endurance laps in that Valentino Rossi game felt like it took forever. But I would have to say the worst game was probably Horizon Zero Dawn. I should have played it before FFXV, but doing it after just made the whole thing feel like a hollow experience. I obviously missed something because everyone else and their dog loves it but hey such as life, maybe I will enjoy the DLC more. 12. Over the last couple of years, do you have any regrets about any aspect of trophy hunting, including competitions you have been involved in? @MattyH16 Mmmm tough one. It is difficult for me to say yes as I wouldn’t be where I am now if I this path had not been followed. Perhaps a better answer is to say I was somewhat naïve to gaming culture when I started 3 years ago. I remember when that Contest/Competition subforum started I meet some wonderful people through Superbuu’s Weplays. The rise of popularity of competitions on here worked perfectly with motivating me to reach my own personal goals. I think my own goals particularly in the last two years are very different to many so naturally I gravitated to similar players. I have also been very lucky to meet some really great people that have become good friends over the last two years. Even though many of these people have little interest in competitions, or rarely comment if ever on this site they read what is written. My position on here has proven I am trust worthy and honest to my word, something that I now realise is very hard to gain in the online world, nor should it be given lightly either. I am constantly conscious of moving forward so rather than feeling any regret, which is a waste of time in any avenue I prefer to simply leave it that while the last two years were fun, interesting, and at times eye opening I have moved on to the next adventure. 13. I was wondering what are the benefits and entitlements you provide to the overworked minions you keep in your basement to play all your games? I'm considering a holiday job and I may as well put my skills to use. @MattyH16 The only prerequisite is holding current Korean citizenship. Once you have that Korean Social Security number the negotiation begins ……. 14. Who do you hate playing games with the most? @MattyH16 Mmm this could get me in trouble. I dislike playing most with players that get extremely tense, angry or vocally frustrated at others when boosting. I also avoid chatting with kids in party chats as I am sure they are as bored by me as I am by them. ( I don’t consider you a kid @fmfab lately some of your comments have been more on the nose than mine, just remind your parents it is not my influence) Other than that I enjoy talking to everyone. I have meet some pretty interesting characters over the last couple of years and heard some fantastically wild and hilarious life experiences. You see I have avoided answering the question quite well I think. 15. Who do you regret meeting on PSNP the most? @MattyH16 Persistent aren’t you. Perhaps one person but I had a feeling for some time we were very different people with very different outlooks on life. I don’t begrudge him lashing out, I doubt either of us really cared anyway. I am sure he gives me as little thought today as I do him. C’est la vie. 16. What does your family, friends, loved ones truly think of your gaming habits and how mortified would they be by how much it has cost overall? @MattyH16 My partner is aware of the cost. We don’t have children and both work quite hard so money is not really an issue. As far as cost I still believe gaming is a relatively inexpensive hobby, especially considering the value for entertainment time it gives you. Most of my gaming happens late at night and because of our work hours he is usually asleep for an early start. So works perfectly. The only major point of contention has been my lego dimensions collection. I was officially banned from getting anymore because I had left it all over the house and there may have been a late night stepping on lego accident. I have successfully managed to sneak quite a bit in since then and have recently put it on a special shelf. I have a feeling he knows more has been added but I remain vague about it. So far we seem to adopting the “ Don’t ask, Don’t tell “ approach. 17. With all the time you've spent earning trophies, would you consider donating some trophies for charity? It's a great thing you have skipped so many VNs for trophies, but why not give something back it doesn't have to be $, perhaps cross book it with some JRPG trophies or fighter trophies, just a thought. @Lucas Thanks for the questions Lucas. I always believed there was merit to plagiarism, I mean the villain had to go to the trouble of finding it, modifying it ever so slightly and then presenting it as their own. Just imagine what that mind could be capable of if it didn’t suffer from the overbearing crushing weight of the original author’s influence. 18. Where would you rate The Last Jedi among all the other mainline Star Wars movies? @Super-Fly Spider-Guy Thanks for the question Super Fly, but unfortunately I am going to disappoint. I have actually only seen one Star Wars movie ages ago, with those Ewok dudes. I hope it was good, and if there are any Ewoks I will definitely consider it. 19. What‘s your favourite thing about trophy hunting? @BeastySoldier Thanks for the questions BeastySolider, I have two favourite things about trophy hunting / gaming, firstly getting to experience a new game I know nothing or little about and getting to see a glimpse inside the mind of the creators. I never cease to be amazed at how creative some of the devs are and it is a truly wonderful experience to be invited into their world, even if it is only for a short time. Secondly, the people I have meet. Talking to passionate people from all over the world is very special. I have to thank Playstation for giving me that opportunity and making it so easy. 20. What trophy/trophies would you like to have but can’t unlock for whatever reason? @BeastySoldier The only trophy I feel I should have would be the Mad Max platinum. It was a great game but the collectable scrap glitched giving me the trophy but not completing the scrap counter, which then locks you out of the final trophy. There are many other trophies that I will never be able to get, but that’s just because of my lack of skills. I am fine with that though. 21. Will there be a third season of C3? @Andrea Hi Andrea, thanks for the questions, I hope you are well. I don’t think there is really a need for a third season. It was great to hear the messenger chat is still running from the league, and by accounts has grown. That will provide more lasting enjoyment and support for players than any competition I could run in the future. Of course if anyone wants to run anything in the future please feel free. You can use or discard any parts of it. 22. Is Jem still in the trophy hunting elite? @Andrea The great thing about this life (well at least in most parts of the Western world ) is that you can be whatever you want to be. Besides is it not part of human nature to all see ourselves as something special. From my vantage point though I am not sure being a “trophy elite “ would be all that enticing. On an unrelated side note I did enjoy sparring words with Jem, he definitely holds his own. 23. You're favourite racing game. @patrickogorman19 Thanks for the questions Patrick, my favourite racing game would be Forza Horizon 3, my favourite Playstation racing game would be Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo (if you have not played it I think you might enjoy it). 24. What is your drive to always be the victim? @Shana Alter Thanks for the question Shana. I actually physically sighed when I read it. I will not insult your intelligence or mine by providing much time on it. I am not a victim, I doubt you are a victim. There are real victims in this world. If you don’t know the difference then open your eyes. 25. What do you define as a challenging and obnoxious question? @Mako I think a challenging question should make one think about the answer rather than just spew forth whatever first comes to mind. An obnoxious question is just filled with something to shock and works equally well if you have no real question you wish to ask. I like using both, do you ? 26. How do you solve the grandfather paradox? @Mako I actually didn’t know about this. I just read up a little and it is fascinating, a total mind fark. I mean the possibilities are endless. This is definitely a question to be pondered over many bottles of wine and good food. If you are ever in Australia you must look me up. 27. What is the meaning of your trophy life? @Mako What is the meaning of any life ? My philosophy is basically let’s do this for awhile, then a bit of this, oh that looks interesting let’s try that, now onto this, never done that, definitely doing that, I never knew about that time to try……….. and then my friend your life is lived. 28. Where can i get imported games cheap? @Mako Ahh now it would be easier to solve the Riemann hypothesis than find cheap VNs. But then life was never meant to be easy right ? 29. Why do you feel the need to attempt and use money to give yourself the illusion of being momentarily important? @Tearraven Thanks for the question Tearraven. And the answer is simple, what else would I use it for. The illusion is holding up well so far, how is your perceived reality going ? 30. Not sure who could match your decisiveness other than yourself so I’ll try to leave this open and obtuse then …. Do what you want with this …… If you were a question, what question would you be? @MrUnknown625 Thanks for the question MrUnknown it is very good, hope you are well. Just a small point of clarification divisive means – tending to cause disagreement. Decisive means – showing ability to make decisions quickly and effectively. Perhaps one less VN and one more book in 2018. I would definitely be an open leading question. I dislike closed yes / no questions so boring. Open questions are much more interesting as you get to know what the person actually thinks about the issue. Leading questions are great too because it helps you cut out the wasted time on bullshit and to arrive at the issue on point. Also an excellent way of getting someone to subtly acknowledge your point of view and perhaps even influencing them if you wanted to be a little wicked. Of course berating them into submission works equally well, just a question of finesse. 31. Do you feel it undermines your credibility as ‘elite’ when you see profiles with a higher platinum number and a higher bar of quality/ lower reliance on stackable easy plats? @DrBloodmoney Thanks for the questions Doctor, I enjoyed them and had a little laugh as well, thank you. I don’t see myself as an Elite. The term Elite trophy hunter was an unfortunate appropriation that got thrown around last year by a competition, probably completely innocently. It could have been passed by smoothly if it were not for a storm of tirades by a certain player who was having far too much fun painting the “ Elites “ into a corner, even if they created it themselves. See I told you I was a Scorpio. 32 Which platinum did you enjoy the process of earning the most - Chaos Child for the 6th time, Steins Gate for the 5th time, Chaos Child for the 7th time, XBlaze Code Embryo for the 5th time or Chaos Child for the 8th time? @DrBloodmoney Well it definitely wasn’t Xblaze Code Embryo that AOS system was a nightmare. I am going to go with Chaos Child for the 7th time, I really hit my peak performance there, unfortunately by the 8th stack I was one the decline, obviously past my prime. Still at this age 7 repeat performances is something of a miracle. 33. What’s the best game you have ever stopped playing in order to spend time getting another, easier platinum? @DrBloodmoney Final Fantasy XIV, but in my defence that game is long. Still perhaps I can redeem myself in the eyes of the trophy gods by playing through both expansions which criminally have no trophies. 34. How many regional variants would a visual novel need to have for you to say “No more. Easy platinum or not, enough is enough.”? @DrBloodmoney Depending on how many I could source at once then I don’t think there is a limit. I usually play VN stacks at the same time across multiple systems so the more the better. I try to avoid VN over 4 hours though, I mean who has time for that. 35. Do you consider victimhood to be a sport, or more of a hobby? @DrBloodmoney Hehehe, such a deliciously wicked question. Perhaps I will let you be the judge of that, there is plenty of evidence in this interview leaning in a certain direction. 36. How much money do you spend on average a month on games? And how much of that is going towards games purely for trophy gainz? @xZoneHunter Thanks for the questions ZoneHunter. I spend just enough to buy every game I want and a few I don’t know that I want. In relation to spend on trophy games it is hard to say most of those games are significantly cheaper than AAA games. Also some of them I quite enjoy. So it is all in the mix. I would imagine I spend no more or less than many other volume hunters on the site. 37 With you given away, yet again, money for the "best question", and having funded prizes for a bunch of other competitions. Do you like throwing away money? Because i can give you my paypal account if you want to throw some of that my way. @xZoneHunter We could definitely arrange something. How old are you and could you enclose some photos, if you are prepared to entertain me for 100’s of hours we could work out a rate I am sure. 38 Have you no shame? @grimydawg Thanks for the question gr1mydawg, it is always like déjà vu reading your posts. Obviously I have no shame in relation to gaming or this site, perhaps though you are getting your question confused. Do you perhaps mean “ Are you ashamed “, then yes often, some of the things I read on this site make me cringe but like a trashy summer novel I am intrigued to see what drama will play out next. Sometimes I even jump in for a little myself, although one gains enjoyment from that for only so long. 39. If you could take any PSNP member out into the woods and experiment on them with a blowtorch who would you choose? @spazza136 Hey Spazza, thanks for the question and Happy New year. I really laughed at this question and seeing as you turned down my obvious attempts to buy you with my money and “best question” I will instead throw it away hopefully in the direction of Zonehunter (pictures and list of private services pending of course). Before I can truthfully answer though could I clarify can I take a couple of fuel tanks out, it could be quite the BBQ. 40. Do you think you'll host any more events in the future? @spazza136 No, I think that time has come and gone now. I don’t intend to enter anymore individual events either, the odd team event will be fun with War, Kaley and the revolving 4th player (currently Midgetstrawdog which I am very much looking forward to playing with). I will be happy to hang around the Australian Trophy Hunter event next season and Simpgraus current event, and support where required. 41. Do you think you'll be able to host an event in the future without there being a buttload of added drama and tears? @spazza136 Of course, the question is more if I want too, and at this stage I don’t feel it. There is a good community still going from the previous league, I think that is enough. 42. Were you as upset as I was that Dying Reborn VR had no Plat? @spazza136 Lol, devastated. Almost as much as when I discovered the latest stack of Dying Reborn was only available on the Chinese store. Criminal if you ask me. Still I think it was better in VR, what do you think ? 43. What's your favourite memory the last few years on PSNP and within gaming? @spazza136 Had some fantastic times gaming in the last for years. Meeting and playing co-op with yourself, Fmfab, MattyH and Adam through Ghost Recon and Majicka 2. Discovering the wonderful world of VNs, and just how loose Japanese censorship laws are. Hearing that the community chat is still alive and growing in a new direction from the league. Providing prizes to some wonderful events and watching such dedicated trophy hunters competing. Comparing Lego Dimension collection pictures regularly with Josh (grats on the 100%) Being amazed and realising how many games are beyond my abilities watching shareplay footage of DarkSamurii-. But most of all becoming stronger friends with Warlord and Kaley. I wonder if I would still be enjoying gaming as much without our conversations literally about everything and anything. Both are such great gamers to play with. Looking forward to another year. 44. Least favourite memory? @spazza136 There was a period last year when I took on a few to many work projects and really overcommitted. Travelling up to Brisbane for a few weeks and the slow progress of one of the projects became very frustrating. On top the league was pretty dicey. No excuses of course but I did something very stupid and lashed out at Fmfab. I should never have done that. It was a very cheap vile thing to do picking a target that had nothing to do with it. Everyone is fallible, I have since apologised, but what was done was done. It made me realise though which people I enjoy gaming with and which I needed to move on from. Gaming is meant to be a break from the life stuff it wasn’t acceptable to drag one into the other. 45. How did you get into trophy hunting, and what kind of goal you try to achieve with trophy hunting? @TazDevilz1986 Hi Taz, thanks for the questions. Happy New Year, and thanks as always for all the regular gaming info. Goodluck with the racing grind of WRC 7 and GT, I fear it will prove to much for me. I sort of fell into trophy hunting, via the Crew. I remember talking with people at the time and they would tell me the lengths people would go for trophies. I found it hilarious that anyone would go to those extremes. Fast forward 3 years and I have probably done them all and more …… multiple times. My goal initially was 100 plats, then 100 plats a year. It became apparent I could level up fairly quickly and I also felt I needed an exit strategy for down the road if I had enough. So my current goal is to reach level 100, I don’t anticipate another year like 2017 this year so it should take another 18 months – 2 years. At that point if I am still enjoying it then fair play, if not will be the perfect time to disappear. 46. Who inspired you into trophy hunting? @TazDevilz1986 Different people inspired me to play different games. Obviously War for racing, he is a master at them, Kaley for JRPG. I am only just dipping my toes into the water but having his knowledge and experience definitely helps. Fisty123 provided a great goal to aim for this year and he has also been incredibly helpful with JRPG knowledge and rhythm games. I have also been lucky enough to have a mate that has helped me out greatly in learning the arts of stacking games, sourcing and all the fun stuff that goes into that. 47 What do you think about ultra rare trophies? @TazDevilz1986 See community question 1 48. Plans for backlog/100% account? @TazDevilz1986 Never, I could never abandon the time I have put into this account just to start another for a higher completion percentage. Besides I am not doing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs again, Korean stack or not be damned. 49 You appear personable. Is it just your psychopathy? @readytofuky Thanks for the questions Readytofuky, I enjoyed a laugh. Look forward to more interaction going forward as we (or you) decipher the Japanese games. Don’t be fooled, I am definitely a prick, just ask the Competition/Contest thread here. It’s only the degree of prickdom that seems to be under debate. 50. How big an inspiration has Keima Katsuragi been to you? @readytofuky Lol the “ God of Conquests “ himself. Well obviously I respect any man that has had his way with so many 2D girls. But I believe our tastes diverge when it comes to Octopi relations. He is clearly missing out. 51. I'm assuming you're a fan of the Armando Iannucci show & have been on a journey in search of the right amount of excess. Have you found it & if so would you let us in on the details? @readytofuky I am not, which is a poor reflection on myself. I am familiar with the Veep series so will have to pick it up and watch it. Political satire that occurs outside of Australia, that will be refreshing. In regards to excess I try to emulate the Oscar Wilde quote "Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess. “ 52. I heard you have Octopi at your place of residence. Was it difficult to start a JAV production company in Australia? Do you need any human/male talent for any upcoming projects? @readytofuky Currently the Octopi are involved in relaxation videos aimed at the mature working professional. (Legal loophole in the Octopi Workplace Convention Act 1972 ). Your interest in engaging with the Octopi in these “ Relaxation “ videos has been noted. For all correspondence on this matter moving forward please refer to the videos as “ Relaxation “ and the web streaming service as “ Educational “. 53. What is your ratio of physical to digital games? @readytofuky 3:1 digital I would say. I go through periods of buying physical but usually end up moving back to digital. Just easier for space and I am not interested in trading games later so no real difference. 54.Sell me some of those Japanese Vita titles you're done with for $20 a pop??? @readytofuky Lol a trophy / game hiring service what an intriguing idea. 55. You've competed in many trophy competitions in the past. Which one was your favorite and who is your favorite person to compete against? @Kent10201 Hi Kent, thanks for your questions. I quite like the teams events, it is always more fun to be part of a group I think. A lot of the individual events had time requirements for minimum length which don’t really suit my play style. Also I can imagine it was a nightmare wading through my trophies trying to determine which ones did and did not count, I wouldn’t want to wish that job on anyone. In terms of competitors there have been so many great battles. Individually MrUnknown625 provide some great VN battles but for volume he is clearly unmatchable. He also intrigues me, our conversations are always short, sporadic and mysterious. He is very helpful though so perhaps he is continuing to tolerate me for the time being. Whyfire is a beast in the Trophy Hunters League, he is so consistent at putting up large scores. For strategy and fierceness Andrea9281, she has every angle covered and is probably unbeatable in any competition she chooses to focus on. She also intimidates me a little bit (but don’t tell her that). Warlord and Kaley would prove incredibly tough opponents, their volume across all types of games each year is amazing. Probably why I choose to team up with them to avoid the annihilation. 56. You have one of the largest backlogs I've seen from active members on the forums. How do you decide what to play and when/what platinums you will go for? @Kent10201 Backlog doesn’t concern me. I just like to have the choice personally. To be honest often even when I turn on the system I am not sure what I am going to end up playing. Just let the mood or the Playstation x – bar decide for me. In relation to platinums I usually intend to plat most of the short games I start, the longer ones just depend. I am probably not going to waste hours grinding for a bronze or two and anything with missable trophies is often a play for fun, don’t worry about the plat game. 57. Who is your favorite author and what is your favorite book from said author? @Kent10201 Tough one, I love Joanne Harris, Gentleman & Players and the follow up Different Classes. A true master of language, her turn of phrase is at times marvellous. Hermann Koch, The Dinner – have been lucky enough to attend 2 of his lectures. A born story teller, if you get a chance to hear him speak would highly recommend. Ayn Rand – Atlas Shrugged, a book one must read at some point. Probably not until your 30’s though it will make you question why you give a fark about anything. I am also a bit of a sucker for crime fiction so enjoy the regulars Michael Connelly, John Grisham, Kathy Reichs, Michael Robotham. 58. What do you do for a living besides play VNs? @Kent10201 I split my time between education consulting (writing resource materials and advising), teaching, composing commercial music and extremely occasionally performing. Working for yourself is definitely the best ever, even though sometimes you are still working at 2am to meet deadline. 59. And finally a stupid question about charity because @Kent10201 There are no stupid questions about charity but I take your point. I do what I can where I can and hope to motivate others similarly. It is a shame that there seems to be so little community involvement around charity events on this site but then people are doing so many things behind the scenes one never truly knows. Thank you to @soultaker655 for the opportunity to be interviewed. Many thanks to the community for all the questions. I had a lot of fun responding and while this may have turned into a novella in length it was very enjoyable experience. I did this in one session so as always any mistakes in grammar or spelling are my own and I take full responsibility for them. Hope everyone has a fantastic 2018, success in gaming, trophies, love and life, Cj No, thank you @CjShai for being the fourth interviewee in the new era of PSNP Interviews. The next interviewee will be revealed soon. Edited January 2, 2018 by soultaker655

Beyondthegrave07
Wow. A lot of sticks (questions) being poked at @CjShai.... Some much sharper than others.
FilmFanatic
That was a good read @CjShai and yes UR plats are mostly overrated. I have 18 but only one of them I found hard and even then only 1 of the trophies did I actually find hard. Having talked to you in voice chats online I can fully agree you’re a prick however you’re an Aussie so that goes without saying of course it’s always good fun chatting to you. It’s good to see that you answered all questions thrown at you and good luck adopting a Korean PSN account child.

spazza136
Nice job with the interview Cj, hope you have a good 2018 both on and off the gaming streams. Smart move not choosing a particular person to blowtorch, and as they say; why choose just one when you can have a big ole' weenie roast. And I didn't mind Dying Reborn VR, a lot more eerie playing that way for sure. Maybe one day I'll be able to summon the courage to play more than five minutes of Resident Evil VR.

Thanks Film, I am not sure if the citizenship-gate saga got much play in NZ but when I saw that picture of Barnaby Joyce I couldn't stop laughing. Such a shame they let him back in so easily. Definitively the funniest NZ joke from an Aussie point of view in a long time ? 3 hours ago, Ethan said: Lol. I'm 18 this year!
