Why do people dislike him so much? He doesn't seem as fake as all the other idiots that have been in charge of gaming over the past few decades. I'd rather have him than a fake PR guy like Phil Spencer who pretends everything is great, pushes games out the door and then does interviewers admitting he knew the game was garbage.

 

The sony PS4/5 exclusives have all pretty much launched bug free day 1 with zero microtransations and the worst scored was days gone that still got an 8.5/10?. It could get so much worse if one of those guys like Bobby K takes over.

Not a fan so I'm glad he's leaving, but, at the same time it could always get worse so I won't celebrate yet.

 

Also instead of just adding another post I'll edit this (was leaving the house when I first posted it) and say I wasn't a fan of Jim mainly because of how soulless he's made PS feel. The PS4 generation felt like it was brought to us by people who love video games big and small. Nowadays it just feels like they stick passionless people in front of the camera and go through the motions of what is expected of them. PS doesn't feel fun anymore.

 

And that doesn't really have a correlation to the quality of games coming out or anything but I feel like it would lead there eventually with the course he was on.

Well, that came out of nowhere, didn't it?

 

I hope that Totoki can do a good job managing the brand while he's the interim CEO, as can the person they bring on to replace him permanently. Jim Ryan definitely made some questionable decisions during his tenure, so I hope the new guy can learn from those mistakes.

The funny thing people always overlook when they want someone shit canned. They never think about who will come in and replace them. It could be for the better, or the worse. Nobody knows until it's too late.

I guess we'll find out.
