Popular Post Cellcrash1991
#55 - Resident Evil 0 Wanna Go for a Ride? Earn all trophies. Since I've played Resident Evil 5 a while back after all those years (The last time I've played it was in 2005 on my brother's X360) I got hooked once again to the series, so I bought most of 'm to play on my PS4, starting in cronological order. ? Ofcourse I've played the originals in the PS1 era but this was the first time I've played Resident Evil Zero, since it was originally only released on Gamecube and that's practically the only console I did not own back then. Although it was made to have some more backstory about the T-virus and the Umbrella corporation, I feel like they could have done more with that. But keeping in mind that it was released in 2002, it's a great game nonetheless. At first I didn't like playing it because of the fixed camera angles, but once I got done with chapter 1 (the train) I really got used to it and I'm glad I've kept playing. This was a really enjoyable platinum to get with a good story with fun challenges in the likes of completing the game without saving (fuck you, damn frog), completing the game without using recovery items, defeating the bosses with Rebecca only (she's made of butter in this game, thank god there's infinite ammo) and completing the game on hard, wich was actually pretty hard. Most games these games are (in my opinion) fairly easy to play, even on hard. It was also a nice addition to actually have to complete a mini-game to earn your infinite ammo. What I somewhat disliked was that -unlike newer games in the franchise- you're unlocked infinite ammo doesn't carry over to a new playthrough. Wich was what made Hard difficulty hard since you've had to conserve your ammo again. But that makes the platinum even more worthwhile, right? Popular Post snakebit10
A New Hope #351 It was a good experience. The game play was good. At times it felt like Uncharted/Tomb Raider traversal through the planets. Combat had a somewhat God of War feel to it. The story was pretty good and all the characters I liked. It had all Star Wars elements to. Honestly I have been out of the loop. As a kid I was a big Star Wars fan and the first 3 movies they made were all time favorites. I haven't seen any of the newer films. I wanted to play this because it looked pretty fun and heard mostly positive things for it. The negative has to be the collectibles and 100% exploration of each planet. I did most of the collectibles on my own. It may of took me a little longer than some. The game could of benefited from a fast travel system. Some parts of some of the planets were confusing to get around on. If you are a Star Wars fan I would recommend it.

Popular Post JoaLoft
#265 - Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5) Finally, a Star Wars experience worth playing! (Not including Star Wars: Squadrons, I haven't played that one nearly enough to comment on it.) Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order takes place in between Episode III and Episode IV, five years after Order 66 (aka "The Jedi Purge") was initiated. You play as Cal Kestis, a scrapper on the planet "Bracca" when the shipyard suddenly gets an unexpected visit from the Inquisitorius, an order tasked with the prosecution and elimination of the remaining Jedi gone in hiding. Seeing no way out, Cal reveals he has a lightsaber and displays he knows how to wield it, escaping from the planet after a pulse-pounding chase. Teaming up with new characters and avoiding the Inquisitors at the same time, you'll learn about his true past as he follows the footsteps of a missing Jedi Master, picking up secret clues that could potentially restore the Jedi Order. The story and characters are pretty damn good and none of the characters felt annoying. Everyone felt as if they fit right into the universe and some of them have become among my favorites of any piece of Star Wars medium, and that does include the movies (special shoutout to BD-1 and Merrin!). Immediately after the end credits, I looked up if the story is canon, because I ended up liking it that much. And I would have dived into New Game Plus if the game actually lets you retain your skill points so you can easily relearn everything at the right times. But no, it doesn't. One of the very few instances where I might skip New Game Plus altogether, until such a time comes where I want to experience the story again. But back to the initial playthrough: combat has an authentic Jedi feel to it. The fact that the overall blueprint sort of works like a Souls lite game, resting at meditation points (i.e. checkpoints like the bonfires in Souls games) means that hostile encounters require patience and timing. You can't just run into a room and slice everything to pieces like some overactive toddler crying for attention. You'll need to dodge, block, parry and use your abilities optimally to beat the hostile forces. The boss fights were mostly fine to handle and thrilling to play (on Jedi Master difficulty), but that final boss... Christ. I must've attempted it over ten times before I got that health bar all the way down. There's definitely a little bit of challenge, but aside from the final confrontation, I never felt like I was in a lot of trouble. Customization is also a part of the experience: you can customize the color pattern on the Mantis (the space ship you travel with), BD-1 and your own suit. You can even customize your lightsaber, creating and modifying it from a truly unique combination of parts. One thing I dislike is the ponchos. I mean, seriously? Is there a colossal sale on Jedi ponchos ever since the Purge? Why does Cal's wardrobe consist of one suit and loads of different ponchos? I would've loved to see more Jedi-appropriate attire. And I'm not talking about Jedi Master robes: there are so many styles to choose from in the wide universe that is Star Wars. Just ponchos. Ugh. A few of them I thought looked neat, but I steered clear from most of these. Audio and visuals are, how else could it be, amazing. Especially the cutscenes on a PS5 look beautiful, and the facial animations are marvelous. The acting and sound effects are on point, and the new score could have been written by John Williams himself. It's all just amazing to behold and listen to. This is the cinematic Star Wars experience we should've had in theaters instead of what some call "the new fan-fiction trilogy". However, the game can be a little bit buggy at times and there's an audio sync issue in cutscenes sometimes which pulls you straight out of the immersion. It happened to me during the final cutscenes and the satisfying climax, which was a huge bummer! The fact this still hasn't been fixed, not even in the brand-new PS5 version which I played, irks me tremendously. Adding to that, the PS5 upgrade felt disappointing due to a lack of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. They could've definitely spiced up this version more. Aside from those missteps, the atmosphere and overall feel of the game are borderline fantastic. EA may have lost a lot of credit with, well, everyone, but they have one last hope: Respawn Entertainment. I haven't enjoyed a game of EA this much since Titanfall 2. It's clear: there is room for multiplayer modes, but if they want to keep the soul of games alive and not destroy it with microtransactions and overpriced standard editions, the future lies in very solid story-driven games. Most frustrating trophy - Collector Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, we need to talk. I could've put down a couple of other trophies here such as the "Cal Got Your Tongue?" trophy, which had a ridiculous requirement to slice off a predator's tongue. Seriously? "Force Slow" in the middle of his attack doesn't work, but "Grasping Pull" (an advanced "Force Pull" attack) does? Alright. But I went for "Collector", making you open all chests and find all secrets on all planets. You could easily add the "find all encripted logs" and "complete all holomaps" trophies, because the endgame trophies boil down to one thing: explore all worlds fully, find every crevice and room, collect everything there is to collect. The game's navigation works through 3D-holographic maps which show that the areas in the worlds are connected in a Metroidvania style, allowing you to open quicker routes to certain areas once you've traversed them. The problem here is that a few worlds have holographic maps which were a pain to navigate. Yes, I'm looking at you, Dathomir and Zeffo. Factoring in that I tried finding all these collectibles on my own, and ended up finding most by myself, it took ages to figure out where to get to and then to discover which part of the area was incomplete or where I may have overlooked an encrypted log, a Force Echo or secret, and a chest here and there. I had a blast with Jedi: Fallen Order, and I would love a sequel. But I already dread the holomaps I'll be studying if they'll go down this exact same route with the next trophy list. Ugh. If I could make the calls, I'd much rather want a difficulty-based trophy which displays skill and effort instead of this tiring scavenger hunt they put you on.

Popular Post Sergen
Platinum #160: Max Payne 3 Difficulty: 8/10 Time Taken: 100+ hours Here it is, the most difficult Rockstar platinum on PSN. Done in anticipation for the server shutdown that will occur on September 16th, 2021. I am glad this journey is over. It is a great game with very smooth shooting and enjoyable mechanics, a game I played before trophies existed on PSN was John Woo's Stranglehold and this game is very much like that. Unfortunately the game got ruined for me in the end by its fucking awful glitching issues that can ruin your runs. Everyone knows that the worst trophy in this game is "The Shadows Rushed Me" requiring you to complete the New York Minute Hardcore difficulty setting, this is a setting where you must complete the entire game without a single death or failure in any section of the game, the game has 14 chapters but 17 overall levels to complete because some of the chapters split off and require you to do an additional level as part of it. This mode is set to medium difficulty and forces free aim as your aiming mode, but none of these things are too troublesome if you do the game on Hardcore mode with free aim before you attempt to do NYMHC. The issues don't really come from the difficulty of the mode, but rather the freezing and glitches that absolutely stop you being able to complete it, I froze at least 6 times while trying to get the trophy, 4 of those were in the exact same spot of Chapter 13, considering the game has 14 chapters, losing your progress that late is extremely demotivating. Some of my other failures came early because I was an idiot at this mode to begin with, situations such as accidentally killing the woman in the boat at the end of chapter 5-2. I never counted how many attempts it took me to get this trophy, getting it done in the end is what counts. I uploaded a video of the entire game on this difficulty setting here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQJaNnsgymc Aside from the annoyances of NYMHC, the original Hardcore setting is very difficult in some parts, especially parts where you don't get much cover such as in chapter 11, your head gets blown off in an instant the moment you peak out of cover and your bullet time, the mechanic that slows down time to help with your shooting accuracy literally lasts less than half a second in this mode. In other difficulty settings, failing the checkpoints will give you free painkillers every 5 times you die but on hardcore mode the game isn't so generous so you will have to look up the locations of those painkillers and bring a lot of them into the checkpoints you're playing, going into a checkpoint without a single painkiller is a recipe for disaster. My last playthrough of the game was on Old School difficulty, this difficulty prohibits you from using the last stand mechanic, a mechanic intended to give you a 2nd chance at life if you get killed by letting you kill the enemy who landed the killing blow against you. The difficulty of old school seems to be set to medium and because I made it a habit to always use painkillers on NYMHC to not go into last stand beating old school was very simple. I did however have a glitch in chapter 12 which required me to restart the entire chapter when I had already reached the very end, this glitch stopped me being able to place C4 charges on the pillars of the rundown hotel, meaning progression was impossible. Fortunately that is one of the glitches that didn't happen to me on NYMHC and losing only 1 chapter worth of progress is nothing compared to losing the entire game of progress when you fail NYMHC. The New York Minute mode which is a prerequisite for unlocking NYMHC is also annoying mainly because in that mode your chapters always start with only 1 minute on the clock, you have to get kills to increase that time and in some chapters you spend a lot of the time running around looking for new places where enemies can spawn and the timer is always ticking in those sections so it can be tight to keep up with the 1 minute you're allotted here. The multiplayer grind is extremely boring with some very tedious situational trophies that require you to get the ideal map to do them, trophies that I don't think would be possible without boosting. Sometimes I had to back out over 20 times from the lobby I had found in order to get various maps that were required for trophies. The rank 50 grind also requires you to repeat Chapter 4-1 in either Score Attack or New York Minute mode around 600 times in order to get enough XP, fortunately the XP can be farmed with a solo method and doesn't require you to play the multiplayer but even then it's absurdly boring to repeat this mission so many times for the XP. I will forever be haunted by the words "you guido douchebags I hope you all die" and "it ain't gonna be a warm cup of milk and a blow job" because they were words of dialogue spoken by various characters in this mission. Aside from the grinding for rank 50 and the situational crap competitive trophies, you must complete another story playthrough which is an online playthrough, this mode is called "Challenge Mode" and requires you to complete random challenges which are usually things like "4 headshots in 10 seconds without bullet time" in every single checkpoint of a chapter, fortunately if you fail the challenge you can retry it so the mode is very simple but it's very tedious that they tacked on another playthrough for the game in a DLC pack. Special thanks to @Potent_Delusions for helping me with the competitive online trophies, conveniently he had the Hardcore mode unlocked on this game which was a more dead mode to boost various annoying trophies in, mainly the "Sweep" trophy for Gang Wars because Hardcore Gang Wars was extremely dead. You need to get 1000 kills in the multiplayer to unlock Hardcore playlists and when you do the trophies you won't naturally earn that many kills when the most kills you need are with the M4 which requires around 350 kills to get level 10 with it. It's another great game ruined by its trophy requirements because Rockstar didn't test the game enough before bringing it to PS3. If only it got remastered for PS4 because maybe then it could have handled the entire NYMHC run well enough to not be a buggy mess in some places. Fun fact, this game had a higher budget than Red Dead Redemption 1. In the end Rockstar won't make anymore games like this because they milk shark cards a lot on GTA V and those shark cards make them more money than a full game release while taking a lot less effort for them to sell. I guess if you like third person shooters then you can't miss out on this game and the time left before the shutdown is more than enough time to get the online done. Popular Post Quink666
#381 Demon's Souls Slayer of Trophies 28,46% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 26 Hours Main reason i really enjoyed this was the impressive graphics and insane load times. I still prefer the more modern Dark Souls games with DS3 being my favourite. There are so many more quality of life improvements on the newer Dark Souls games which makes them more enjoyable to play. Demons Souls is still a great game though. I followed a guide made by @Optinooby to get all highly missable trophies as fast as possible. Great guide and i can't recommend it enough. Most trophies was alright but the collectible trophies was a pain in the ass because of the World/Character tedency stuff. You have to take several online classes before you know exactly how tedencies works = > Platting this game without any form of a guide would be insanely difficult and impressive. I just got my PS5 today and downloaded Destiny 2 because I heard it ran a lot smoother on PS5 and as soon as I loaded my character, everything just auto popped. So......I mean I'll take a free platinum but I was kind of hoping I would have to start over from the beginning to see how quickly I could get it done.
Popular Post Maddawgmax
#100 Assassins Creed Origins Earn them all I honestly remember not caring for AC Origins at all when it came out, not even making it to Alexandria. After beating Valhalla I decided to do every platinum starting from AC2 onwards. Working on Odyssey now then Chronicles before cleaning up the new Valhalla DLC. This one ended up being an extremely fresh experience coming off of Unity (still the best moving mechanics of any of them) and Syndicate. It’s also the most stealthy I’ve attempted to be in a while in this series.
Popular Post The Alchemist
500 - Mafia: Definitive Edition This was my first introduction to the game as I never played the original version back on PS2. I'm glad to say it was worth the long wait to get around to it because it's a great game. If you're like me and you love watching movies and shows about mobsters then the story won't be anything new to you, but it's told in a way which is really well done, so while not entirely original, it's still very satisfying. All of the characters were well written, they felt like real people. I particularly liked how Tommy's friendship grew with Paulie and Sam as the story progressed, and you really started to care for them as if they were family. That might sound like a simple thing but it's actually quite hard to pull off. Typically there'll be at least one or two characters in a game who I don't like, but there were none here, which is quite rare. It was certainly helped by the fantastic performances of the cast. Gameplay is where I feared the game would show its age, and while certain aspects do seem a little dated, the gameplay overall was very good. Two aspects in particular stood out to me and really took me by surprise; the driving and the gunplay. Driving is something most games outside of pure racers never get right, but this game absolutely got it spot on. Different vehicles felt unique rather than all the same like in a lot of games, and there was a real sense of weight and balance to them. Handling was also good. It's even more impressive when you consider the time period of the game because not many games which feature driving are set in this time period, so making the vehicles drive and handle in a somewhat realistic way must have been difficult to do, but they pulled it off. The gunplay was really surprising, mainly due to one reason and that's the punch that each gun seemed to pack. I couldn't believe how good it felt when shooting a weapon in this game, you could really feel it in the controller. This seems like an afterthought in most games but it was really excellent here. I played the game on PS5 and it really got me thinking how it could be even better with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. For this reason alone I would love to see a native PS5 port. Outside of the story and the gameplay I have to give praise to the musical score which was excellent and wouldn't feel out of place in a Scorsese epic. Another special mention goes to the world and the map, both of which were fantastic. Everything was really well laid out, and the world itself was thoroughly enjoyable to explore. Although it could get a little sparse at times (for understandable technical reasons), it was still absolutely gorgeous. I stopped a lot of times just to take in the views, it was that good. Outside of Rockstar's games, this is one of the best game worlds I've experienced in recent memory. It felt authentic, full of life, and it was beautiful to behold. It doesn't have the same attention to detail that a Rockstar game has, but it comes close to being just as beautiful as one. Now for the trophies. There was a nice mix of story-related trophies, collectibles, and miscellaneous trophies to get. A pretty standard list all round. If I had one negative it would be the collectibles. Besides looking cool, they didn't really add anything to the game, and there were too many of them. Besides that however, I didn't have to go out of my way for anything. The miscellaneous trophies were quick and easy, and nearly everything else came from playing the story. Speaking of which, I did what I normally do and started my first playthrough on normal difficulty, opting to do a second playthrough on classic difficulty. Speaking of classic difficulty, I had heard about the infamous chapter 5 - the race. I braced myself for it expecting it to be difficult, but ultimately not as difficult as people were making it out to be, and I was right. People were once again making a mountain out of a molehill. It's always this way whenever anything even remotely challenging pops up in a videogame; typically there's outrage, whining, and even petitions sometimes. Gamers complain when games are too easy, they complain when games are too difficult. It's the way it is and I doubt it'll ever change. But that's neither here nor there. Overall I would rate the game a 4/10 in difficulty. An enjoyable list (minus the collectibles) that offers a nice challenge when playing on classic difficulty. To end, I loved the game and I'm glad I was able to make it my milestone 500th platinum. And fair play to anyone who read to the end! ?
PraiseTheFluppi
#67 - Zombie Army 4: Dead War:How's that for a slice of fried Platinum?Difficulty: 4/10Time: ~80 hoursEnjoyment: 6/10 A linear Zombie shooter with kind of a different 2nd worldwar story. A fun little game, I got it for free from PS plus a few months back. To be honest, I would never have played it otherwise! Like in most zombie shooters you can upgrade your weapons, throw grenades of stomp them to death. You can kill them in a wide variety of ways - shoot, slash, smoosh, fry, electrocute, explode. The story wasn't that interesting, it was basically what I expected and not the factor that made me platinum the game. It was the fun little details that made it a good experience. A typewriter with jumpscare effects, little magic dolls everywhere you look with hidden meaning sometimes, funny little easter eggs, quite literally even and more! Had a few good laughs while playing! The base game isn't too difficult, the hardest part for me were the 20 waves in a row in horde mode, they can be quite frustrating. I bet with a four player group this can be done easier though! Luckily I got the multiplayer trophy for finishing every level with 4 players relatively fast with random sessions, which is also an annoying thing to do for platinum. All in all, a nice game, but nothing too fancy.

Popular Post Cave Johnson
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV Divine Blade Mastered Trails of Cold Steel IV and earned every trophy. Going through this game again, my opinion hasn’t changed. It’s hard to explain; there seems to be something missing, or that it simply could have been better. One thing I know for certain is that I don’t care for [spoilers] Spoiler “the curse”. It’s a weak plot device that drags down the whole story for me. Using it to explain the tragedy of Hamel is an unnecessary retcon that feels almost insulting. And yet, here I am with the platinum once again. Despite my issues with Sen IV, I wouldn’t consider it bad, just disappointing compared to how high Sen III set the bar. If anything, what I find to be the most disappointing aspect is the severe drop in quality when it comes to the music. The soundtracks of Sen III and IV contain some of the worst, most forgettable songs I’ve ever had the misfortune of hearing in a Falcom game. Now that I’ve finished Hajimari I know the situation seems to be improving, however. I can only hope that they leave the cacophony of bees and chickens out of Kuro no Kiseki. Because this is the end of this arc, here are some unorganized stats and opinions (no sarcasm or anything): Hours spent on this arc: 1000+ Times a chest was missed, requiring another playthrough: 2 of 3 (can't remember exactly) Times Chrono Drive and La Forte were casted: probably 10,000+ Best girl: Fie Best guy: Crow Worst character arc: Cedric Best character that started out as a gag character and actually became good: Duvalie Coolest guy that does whatever and doesn't give a fuck: Rufus Bitch I want to see get turned into salt: Mariabell Worst place to live: Crossbell (because of all the shit they have to go through) Resident Evil Village Ethan Winters Obtain all Trophies I didn’t care much for Resident Evil VII, so I wasn’t in any hurry to start this one. Thankfully, Village is better in just about every way. As I sit here writing this I can’t think of a lot to say about it, though that’s not necessarily a bad thing. That at least means that there aren’t any glaring issues I feel the need to rant about. Musynx Almighty Collect All Available Trophies. I had been meaning to get Musynx for a while, and a (sort of) recent sale convinced me to buy it. Given that it’s an indie game there are some flaws I’m willing to overlook, but some are just bad. First, there is no option to sort songs whatsoever; a very basic feature in most rhythm games. Second, and this the absolute worst, there is no option to disable or at least change backgrounds. The songs are divided into six sets, each set containing its own background and associated note skin. The first one sucks, two and three are manageable, four is okay but too bright, five is completely terrible, and six only has three songs, so whatever. Not being able to disable some of these backgrounds, which are an assault on the eyes, is unacceptable. As if that weren’t bad enough, some of the accompanying note skins make it hard to read the notes. Even with the speed turned up, it can be difficult to discern whether something is a chord (two or more keys at the same time) or just a few notes close together. I should also add that support for Musynx on consoles seems to be dead. From what I can tell the PC version still gets updates, while the in-game DLC shop is still empty on consoles. These problems are why I’ve barely touched the game since getting the platinum. Because of the awful backgrounds / note skins I rarely feel like playing anything outside of sets 2 and 3. Even then, I'd rather play a better game, like DJMax.

I just got this because I had £1 in my PSN account and thought sod it, in all fairness I've hardly got many trophies over the past few weeks due to being ill and only really playing PC Builder Simulator which I am about a week or more out on finishing, so some nice easy platinums are nice to get.
