Popular Post SuchRemorse
I really don't understand the purpose of a discless console especially when they are still making discs. I mean why would you want the console to have LESS features? If you want digital only then just buy digital games! Nobody is forcing you to buy physically if you have the disc drive.... And just have the disc drive as an option. What if your friend comes over with a game? Oh well you can't play it because I have this pointless disc less console.... Or what if you find a super cheap used copy of a game you want? Oh well can't play it. If you don't want to buy physical games then just buy them digitally! There!!! Now you have an all digital console! Smh...
Yechan
Definitively prefer disc version but I'll probably get both.
Starcade_Legend
Definitely WITH a disc drive. Although I’m absolutely confident the disc-based version will be more expensive...I don’t want to rush a future of no trading/reselling of Blu-ray Disc games, no lending/trading/playback of Blu-ray Disc/DVD movies, sales/deals being nearly non-existent, games are more of a digital ‘lending’ of license ownership...all of these scenarios will eventually come; I just don’t want to hurry that future along. SGRevan
With disc. I don't want to be bound to digital versions only. Also, an occasional Collector Edition will cross my path!
WayfarerFox
Disc version for sure. I can see the appeal for the Digital only edition but for self preference for sure the disc version. I couldn't go through a whole console generation with everything in a digital library. Just doesn't feel right to me.
Tecnal1
Disk version definitely
BKnocheese
I used to love physical copies of everything, but PS has made it more tedious to be a disc lover in this day and age. For instance, it took me hours to start up FF7R the other day because I had to download the whole game (which I thought the point of physical copies was to not have to do that?!?!?!) and then start it. Combined with disc reading difficulties in the past, I think I'll just save some money and go with the digital.
maisie666
Digital. Black. Demons souls edition. I hate having extra plastic crap cluttering up the house. I m pleased that they made 2 versions, so everyone gets what they want.
EightBitArtist
i can buy a game off ebay, plat it within a week and resell it for almost the same as what i bought it for. ill never be able to do that with digital, so i will never go all digital.
DiegoMolinams
If the price difference is noticeably good I'm getting the digital one, if it's not too much then the disc version
DizzyDavidson
I'll get the one with disc some day, but I'm not even thinking about getting a PS5 anytime soon (years).
Feral
With. I like having a physical collection of games.
IKARUS-RG
Disc version for sure for me! Prefer to own physical copies of my games.

It's supposed to be cheaper and I never used disk drive in my PS4 anyway. 50 USD less for something I don't want would be a nice deal. Disk drives are prone to stop functioning properly if not used in a long time anyway. Less things to worry about. Other than that, the console looks better without the drive and maybe cools a tiny bit better too.
Ninjise
Disc version absolutely, I like seeing a solid collection on the shelf, also me and my friends we borrow games sometimes.
A_Tennis_Giraffe
Well, there'd be no point in me buying a console WITHOUT a disc drive because then I'd have no games to play on it So yeah, definitely disc for me!
Kishnabe
I prefer getting Physicals. You can sell or trade them when done. Going for the one with Disc. Not sure I will go for PS5 till the Slim Version a few years later. Edited June 12, 2020 by Kishnabe

GUDGER666
It depends on what the situation is with backwards compatibility, if it is with PS3 then Disc version as i have a lot of PS3 games. Probably just wait for the Pro version as I've got a ridiculous amount of unplayed games.
Apollo
Definitely with. I prefer gaming digitally, but I have an extensive movie library that I won't be able to watch without a disk reader, so most definitely with.
TrophyChief
With disc definitely for many of the reasons mentioned previously, but as a trophy hunter, I want the ability to achieve trophies before any future patches are released ?
steel6burgh
I will certainly buy the version with disc but only to play the ps4 discs I currently have. In the future I will buy all games digital because I can see the writing on the wall disc drives will be phased out making us buy older generation consoles if we want to continue to use our old games on disc. I own most games digital anyways but I always buy the biggest game like TLOU2 or Ghost from tsushima etc. steel book editions.
Dangisuckatgamin
Without. But i think it's cool that everyone who enjoys physicals is still buying them. There's no harm done for what people prefer. Also, I usually buy my digitals once they are on sale so the cost doesn't matter anyway. (Only buy truly wanted games day one and most day ones are the same price as Physical)
Viper
Disc definitely. While my digital library has grown exponentially this generation...I still like the physical media, especially in certain franchise that I have all/most of on disc.. Even if the discs are nothing more than physical unlock keys for digital games these days...it's nice having a collection on my shelf I can look at and touch...it's something that digital gaming will never be able to achieve. So, while I won't be getting a PS5 right away, due in large part to money issues...even if the disc version is more expensive, I'll be going with that when the time comes.
