Popular Post rosst-canada
Just signed up here, this is my first forum post! Plat. #47: The Last of Us: Remastered It can't be for nothing I'm super proud of this one. I'm on a mission to platinum every Naughty Dog game on PS4 (N. Sane Trilogy, Jak ports, Uncharted, etc.) and this was arguable the toughest so far (although Crash Bandicoot 1 still looms over the horizon). Granted, it's always great to jump back into the world of Joel and Ellie, as I'm sure you all know. I always enjoy platinum-ing games that mean a lot to me and it feels great to finally knock this one off the list; it's perhaps my second favourite game ever made. Also had the enjoyment of 100%-ing the Left Behind story, and thankfully I was good enough to grab all the multiplayer trophies. To hell with Grounded mode though! My love for this game aside, between this and the original PS3 release that I owned on day one (I think), I've played this game to absolute death and hope that I never have to touch it again.

Popular Post RedRodriguez87
Birth by Sleep Master And here it is. The last of the KH ReMix collection! BBS, came very close to being my favorite of these four, because it had a lot of things I liked. The constant rewards from fighting and leveling up, the variety of commands and styles, each with their own move-sets, the D-links and THEIR rewards/extras. I also liked the choices of the Disney Worlds and how they appeared; The choice of pastel colors combined with the subtle lighting that we never really got a whole lot of up until this point, making these worlds feel bigger and grander, especially in comparison to the flat staticness of something like KH2. The story?....... Well, it's a prime example of the wasted potential that alot of these spin offs have, and its also the corniest in terms of writing. We have have Ven whimpering like a little sissy when Aqua and Terra first talk to him (seriously, Jesse McCartney sounded like he was a few lines away from screaming "I NEED AN ADULT!!!"). We have useless "important" characters like Yen Sid and Master Eraqus (Terra: Master, where can I find Xehanort? Yen Sid: Hmm, I don't know. Find Xehanort. Terra: Yes master) We of course, have each of the characters being shoehorned into various Disney plotlines and watching it from the distance, instead of said plotlines being used to further THEIR story. And last but not least, we have the complete lack of communication like I have never seen in this series. So much needless tragedy and drama that could've been avoided if the trio and their friends just sat and talked. You know, like the close friends they are SUPPOSED to be. And I loved every second of it. It seemed like an entry you think would give something more serious and weighter, it instead gave us a complete 180. But now, the bad stuff. The implementation of the combat mechanics. Thanks to the hardest modes/challenges, you see just how flawed alot of it is. Finishers that restrict your combat, with very little on can do to prevent, Style changes that completely break the flow of battle and cause you to have to readjust the way you fight, a camera that rather be plastered to your back and will follow it even when you don't want it to, which in turn completely breaks your lock on, which in itself seems to blink in and out of existence. Alot of the later bosses seemed so terribly designed, with lightning fast reflexes and zero recovery time, leaving up to chance whether or not you are decimated after every attack, amplified by the fact that almost every single one of your attacks leaves you open to damage. As a result, every character felt clunky and slow when battles got intense, leaving almost battle to be not a matter of strategy, but 100% damage race. So, as it stands, both KH1 and KH2 still stand as my favorites in the collection, of only for the fact that their faults don't come as close to hampering the overall experience. Ah well, just three more entries in the series, then I'll be ready for KH3!! But for now, it's break time with a Roger van Der Weide movie.

Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#92 - Batman: Arkham Knight "I AM the Batman!" Reclaim your city. Since I was a kid, I've always loved Batman. The Arkham games have been an incredible journey into the hero and his world, and I loved what Rocksteady has done with the series. Asylum came out of the blue and was stunning, City blew me away, and Origins (though made by a different studio) still had a pretty great story. Arkham Knight continues the trend of incredibly satisfying combat and stealth sections, a gorgeous world, fun exploration, some of the best mobility in an open world game (gliding around the city is just awesome), and interesting characters and stories that I've come to love. There is a lot to love about this game - including the injection of new gadgets, really cool character and story moments, and the Batmobile (!!!) - but that doesn't mean that it was perfect; or even my favourite Arkham game. The Batmobile was super fun and I'm glad they included it. It opened up a whole new way to explore, solve puzzles and engage in combat. My main issue with it is that it felt almost over-used to the point where car combat became stale by the end. Furthermore, bosses that had the potential to be epic Mano-a-mano fights in the same vein as epic fights from earlier in the series, boiled down to simply shooting and driving. To be fair, several of these were still quite enjoyable, but when one of Batman's biggest rivals (who had an epic fight in Origins) is simply a dude in a car, he loses much of what made him one of my favourite villains. Another 'disappointment' was the lack of variety in side missions, and the relatively simple character arcs. Characters that had really interesting missions and side-stories in past games are often relegated to simple 'do this thing enough times and, well, I guess you've taken down the boss now' kind of missions. There were some standouts, but even these were often over before I felt they'd even really begun. I know there's an awful lot of moving parts in a game like this, but I would have preferred a bit of 'quality over quantity' when it came to these side missions. I also saw the 'big twist' coming from a mile away, which isn't too much of an issue I guess, but still... All that said, I still had a lot of fun with this game. There's just something about being Batman that feels... right . The voice actors did an incredible job too - from the main protagonists to the big bad villains - and the (admittedly few) audio recordings were excellent. Combat, predator sections, exploration, and detective scenes were satisfying as always, and I enjoyed the ending (including the 'true ending') that gave at least some closure to the series. Overall, I'd probably say that this is my 3rd favourite Arkham game (after City and Asylum). Not because it was bad by any means; it simply didn't reach the dizzying heights of its predecessors in my book. If you love the series (or just Batman in general), you'll absolutely get a kick out of this game. Platinum-wise it's pretty straight-forward too; if a little time-consuming. So yeah, worth a play; just don't expect it to be the best game you've ever played, haha. Game rating: 8/10 Plat difficulty: 3.5/10

Popular Post eigen-space
#47 - Cat Quest Le Platinum Trophy Enjoyment - 10/10 Difficultly - 1.5/10 Guys. Just buy this game already. Seriously. It may be the best thing you play all year. It certainly isn't the most challenging game, and the plot and characters aren't deep, but that doesn't matter. Everything that this game does, it does VERY well. The mechanics are fantastic, the art is great, and the music is delightful. Nothing about this game feels terribly challenging, but you won't find yourself bored; they've got a really good mix of their puzzles/dungeons being just difficult enough to get you thinking, but not so hard that you want to rage quit. Great game for adults and kids alike! The only reason you shouldn't get this game is if you don't like cat puns. Very excited to hear that a sequel is in the works.

COD probably still is the franchise I've spend more hours on than any other. Back in the day when mp was still fun. Anyway I never got around to playing this game, so it was fun to see how the Modern Warfare story started as I did play MW2 and MW3. Popular Post Meachamp-
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Time to 100%: 104 hours | Difficulty: 4/10 | Enjoyment: 10/10 Easily jumped into my top 5 games of all time. There's just nothing to dislike about this game in my opinion. It itches all of them needs as a gamer (me anyway) that kept me loving it all the way through to the very end including doing both of the DLC's the game has. Geralt of Rivia is the ultimate badass and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Spoiler Overview You and your mentor Vesemir set off on the Path looking for Geralts lover Yennefer. You track her down to a small countryside known as White Orchard. In White Orchard you're basically left on your own to do a few missions and odd jobs for people that you come across. This whole section is basically the tutorial if you like. It gives you the explanations needed to survive in this absolutely massive game. It gives you simple monster contracts so you can get a feel of how to tackle each quest and it gives you other smaller jobs like, clean out a cave or find my brother kind of quests. After a few hours in White Orchard you manage to get information necessary to find Yennefer. When with Yennefer you find out that a very special someone has returned from far away and you have been tasked with finding them. This is when the game opens up and you travel across the world given to you to try and track this person down. Character & Level Design There are literally too many people to talk about when it comes to this game so I will most likely just stick with Geralt. Geralt is the main character and everything you do with him is entirely up to you. One great aspect of this game is the choices you make. You can be the horrible loner wolf where you kill everything and anyone who even looks at you wrong or you can be the charming, white knight so to speak. (So many puns and I'm not even trying. ) So he doesn't have a set personality like most characters do in games, you can literally shape Geralt into any type of person you want to. Bare in mind it does have it's consequences, if you're horrible to everyone, everyone will be horrible back and you can see it in basic NPC chats above their own heads, they either love you or hate you. Same goes for main characters, if you're horrible you don't have the benefits of having friends when it comes down to it and obviously getting some neat rewards. So the choice is ultimately yours. There are so many characters in the game that I could literally sit here for hours writing about who they are, how relevant they are and their histories etc. Geralt does have two best friends out of everyone though and that is Dandelion and Zoltan. Zoltan reminds me so much of Gimli from The Lord of the Rings trilogy so I loved him as a character. Dandelion was the bard who exaggerates everything but he's also very loyal to Geralt and does need saving all the time. Level design is amazing, there is so much detail in the world that it can be so easy to get side tracked, traveling to one point to the other and you see something over in the distance you just want to ride over and see what it is. There is White Orchard which is a small countryside which is just about hit with the war between the North and Nilfgaard. Then there is Velen, the warzone between the nations, you can tell when travelling everywhere that villages have been plundered, there's battlefields with medieval war machines, body stacks and even the usual monster who's got a liking for bodies making nests in the middle of the country so they can feed on the casualties of war so being a Witcher during war time is doubly dangerous. Then there's the cities of Oxenfurt and Novigrad, Oxenfurt is that small city pit stop where you can stock up on weapons etc etc and Novigrad is the complex street system where everything is. All the pubs, herb shops, blacksmiths, armorers the lot. Very detailed in every street and yeah, everything is just ridiculously detailed it looks so good. Then there's the Isles of Skellige which hasn't been ravaged by the war, they are a network of islands where they all have great warriors. They're all very nicely created and instead of the wastelands and battlefields of Velen you're treated to soaring white mountains full of snow ships which went down in storms everywhere you see. Gameplay Gameplay is where this game shines for me in all honesty. There's so much to do in terms of how you can raise your characters. Don't get me wrong, fighting is probably the most basic thing. Quick attack, heavy attack and there's not a ridiclous variety to it but where there is variety is on the equipment and how you approach the fighting. You have two swords, one for all the monsters the silver sword and then there's the steel sword for all the humans and basic beasts like dogs, bears and boars. Both are very well needed as there probably are the same amount of monsters as there are bandits in the game. You can build your charcter in a number amount of ways. There's the attack build, sign build and alchemy build. Personally, I made a hybrid of Alchemy and attack build which made me so powerful on the hardest difficulty that it was quite difficult to die. There are different types of buffs you can use for your weapons, such as oils. Each do different amount of bonus damage to a specific type of enemy. So if you were fighting a wraith, you'd use the Specter oil to give yourself a buff bonus to your sword. There are different levels of oils as well Superior being the best type of any oil which does a whopping 50% extra damage on whatever the enemy is weak to. You can also add in runes which give percentages to what your weapons can due so cause bleeding, poison etc. There is bombs, bombs are very helpful when in a tight area full of enemies, effects vary from freezing them, burning them, poisoning them to even stopping enemies with magic abilities to cancel them out whenever they try to use them. They also help get rid of monster nests that can be found throughout the world so monsters stop respawning. Equipment wise in terms of clothes, there is so much to choose from. I personally didn't like using other equipment besides the Witcher gear which is gear made specifically for you and comes in three different types, light, medium or heavy armor. I stuck to the school that had the light armor as it made attacking much quicker and gives certain buffs, it's always good to experiment when it comes to the game so literally try everything until something stick that you like. The main theme around the gameplay is choice, you can build your character to be whoever you want to be and have abilities whatever you want it to be. There's also a game called Gwent, a very simple card game but so so well done and addictive. You literally can play Gwent against many of the merchants and main characters you come across and you can build up a deck in 4 factions. Monsters, Scoia'tael, Northen Realms and Nilfgaard. Each deck has it's strengths and weaknesses and all are equally as fun to get used to. One of the best card minigames in a video game since FF8 for me. DLC The DLC in this game is an absolute perfect example of how DLC should be done, it really is. The first one Hearts of stone had a whole Thriller vibe to it, it was rather dark throughout and you meet some very interesting characters and new types of equipment. You even meet some friendly faces from the old games which is good for any returning Witcher fan. I'd say this DLC was probably before the end of the main game so I decided to complete it then. You come across new types of enemies also like a giant toad which was really cool. A new type of merchant that casts spells on you weapons and gives out so many random buffs which can be changed all the time so it was really cool idea. The story again was very dark. The missions were very very cool. There was also some humour in the game especially the wedding level, let's just say the whole scenario with Vlodomir was so random and entertaining. Again, your choices play a big part in the finale of this chapter and the ending I chose gave me the most satisfaction honestly and I definitely saw it as the lesser evil. Blood and wine is by far the best DLC I've come across. Not only is it great it's like a brand new game really or a standalone game as it were. You're introduced to Toussaint which is a brand new massive map full of life and colour. So much different compared to the rest of the game that could be considered quite dull in comparison it really does serve well as post main game ending. You get brand new monster contracts, a whole bunch of new equipment. Grandmaster Witcher level equipment, even your own house that you can do up. This is just a fun DLC where everything is pretty much less serious than the main game besides the main mission sequence that was pretty serious and equally as epic. You even get a new card set as well which was really fun to get a hold of. It really is such a good game and DLC. Trophies Trophies for the main game are pretty straight forward really, some are based around doing some contracts which you should do anyway if you're going for the platinum as there's one trophy for doing all of the contracts so yeah some are based around contracts and they're a bunch of fun, they really really are. Then there's the obvious story missions which will not be mentioned because I don't want to spoil but yeah, progress through the story and you will unlock them. There are a couple of missables such as complete the gwent deck, win the gwent tournament, having a full crew for a certain battle. If you're worried bring up a guide but if you're the type of player to explore and do side quests and sub plots then you shouldn't really have a problem provided you be nice to certain people and ask them specific stuff. Then there is the misc, read 30 books (will happen really early if you loot everything) 12 potion forumale, pretty much unmissable, hit level 35 which should be easy if you side hunt. Then a lot of them have to do with using different signs. I wouldn't worry about them though depending on your playstyle. There's a potion that you can use that gets rid of abilities so you can use it then put a load of points into a branch that requires a trophy and then reload your save and use it again etc. Most are simple to do though in all honesty. The DLC trophies are a bit of the same but like I've said, if you explore you should have absolutely no problem doing anything. Conclussion The game in my eyes is absolutely fantastic. I've had an absolute blast start to finish and now that it's over I feel a little bit empty. I never really wanted it to stop so there's that. It itches a lot of itches for a gamer like me and I'm not that picky so I loved it even more. You get lost in this amazing game and you really just want to constantly play it all the time. I definitely would recommend this game if you haven't played it yet. If you do read this then I hope I've answered some of your questions and I really do mean that doing stuff on this game is entirely up to you. You're not forced to do anything on the game that you wouldn't to. I also recommend the DLC, one of the best around so much fun. P.S. Duchess is best girl.
Popular Post Neef-GT5
#22 - Ratchet & Clank Difficulty = 3/10 Enjoyment = 8/10 My first contact with the R&C franchise and quite a good one. The game is fun, with handsome, colorful graphics and an very enjoyable gameplay. Story is very basic and childish but it's really what you could expect from a game like this one. Some trophies require a little bit of a grind but nothing dramatic, most of them will come naturally as you progress through the game. And I must say I had a lot of fun leveling some of the most fucked-up weapons ever featured in a game! A very decent experience, I recommend...

Popular Post DamagingRob
#322- Kung Fu Shenanigans Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends True Awesomeness Earn every Trophy in the game I'm sure I wouldn't have touched this game, had @cr1s not asked. But the boost wasn't too bad, especially compared to some others we've already done. And of course, it was funny as hell, seeing all the bugs that would show up in multiplayer. Unless it was one where the game would freeze on a screen, and you had to close the game to get out of it. Those weren't so fun, since it usually meant you'd lose a bit of XP.. Save frequently, if going for this! Single player seemed relatively bug free. It crashed on one of my tournament runs, but never again after that. And the game is kinda fun. Just your usual fighting game list, that makes it a grind to complete. Crazy multiplayer trophies, and a run through of what would essentially be an Arcade Mode in other fighters with every character. Though you can download a couple of free DLC characters, that are better than a couple of bad ones in the base game to make things easier. Or buy a bunch of others for a buck each. I really don't think you'll need to do that, though. I never lost a tournament on my 20 runs, so I'd say it's pretty easy. All in all, a decent Smash Bros. clone, in my opinion. I liked PlayStation All-Stars a bit more, though. But that could be because I knew the characters. I think this game has more variety when it comes to types of matches, though. Spoiler ^Had to finish with the chicken, though it's kinda hard to tell. Can't seem to get away from these fowl creatures, ever since meeting the most evil chicken in existence in that PaRappa game.
