Popular Post RedRodriguez87
PS3 #342: BFA Another PS3/Ps4 duo complete! Just really had the itch to play through this one again.... And, my feelings are pretty much the same as the first time. The story is kinda lame, the main character is a bore, and the mostly fun gameplay has some really irritating aspects. I had my suspicions before, but this playthrough really cemented how useless the dash in this game is, and how it is to me one of the worst I've ever experienced. Negating damage only at random, and leaving you a sitting duck with the most ridiculously long recovery time ever saddled to this common game mechanic. Thanks to that recovery time, you can't even use it to get around quicker; if the dash can cover 5 steps fast, the recovery time will make up at least 4 of those. THAT'S how useless it is. And yet, I can't explain why, but everything seemed to click in my speedrun playthough, and I burned through it really damned quick. I guess it's because i discovered that the Harvester Dash Attack cuts through any and all enemies/bosses like butter. Why i wasted time with the gauntlets my first run, i do not know. I still do love the puzzles, ESPECIALLY the portal ones, which made the last dungeon my favorite in the game. The comic book art style is neat, and overall I do like the idea of a Zelda-esque having a wide array of attacks and platforming. Above all, I really do like what this series sets out to do, at in terms of gameplay. I love how flashy and involved they try to make the combat, and I like the idea of pairing said combat with other genres, even if in practice they don't turn out so well. It's an action that knows and strives to be A VIDEO GAME, not an attempt at a cinematic experience with 50% automation, or an oversimplified Akham knock-off. It's the reason I will (eventually) continue on with 3 and Genesis, and why I hope they give us just one more game starring Strife. Popular Post whodeygamer
#24: Yooka-Laylee I ended up getting this game because the buddy duo bundle was at a really good price in a recent sale. That and I heard about how good the sequel is, but I decided to play this one first. It’s clear how much inspiration was taken from Banjo-Kazooie, but unfortunately the flaws outweigh the pros. The pro is that it’s a good looking game for an indie title. The cons are that it has a painfully generic soundtrack, an awful camera that makes some later parts of the game unbearable, the casino world as a whole along with the game’s final boss, and a generally unlikeable cast of characters, especially Laylee. Overall, this was a poor attempt at making a Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor and I’m glad I’m done with it.
Popular Post Kcrack_Km
#56 Fun 8.5/10 Difficulty 3/10 Grind 5/10 Went in with zero expectations and surprisingly enjoyed everything. I'm actually surprised I managed to avoid spoilers for two years because the ending caught me by surprise as well. Post game grind wasn't even that bad, all up the plat too 79 hours (according to ps5). Only real negative is you can't listen to music when doing deliveries, though this makes sense due to BT's.
Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #120 Sonic Colours Ultimate Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 I remember my first time playing Sonic Mega Collection for the Gamecube (and later Mega Collection Plus for the PS2), which was my first introduction to this series. Since then, I've played several, but not all the games in the series. The 2D games will always be the classic and the most memorable ones, but the 3D games are also great. Sure, there's been a hit and miss every now and then ('06, Unleashed and so on), but not every game isn't like that. Which includes this. Sonic Colours* was originally released in 2010 for the Wii, which I never played back then, despite that I own the console. I might've planned to buy that at some point, but cancelled for reasons unknown. I also didn't play the other 3D games they released for that console. I guess I should be glad that they made a remastered version of Colours, huh? So, playing the game for the first time, how did I like it? To say the least, it was great. It's been a few years since I last played a 3D Sonic game. Going top speed has always been the thing in these games. The new addition, the Wisps, was a great idea, giving something different for regular platforming. Since this is the remastered version, you might be wondering if it brings anything new? The answer is yes. I had to look it up, but I'm not going to post all the details here, though I will mention some of them. I have to admit, I didn't know the Jade Ghost Wisp wasn't actually included in the Wii version. Instead, it made its first appearance in Team Sonic Racing. You also have the rival races against Metal Sonic, which are required for the 100% completion. These are just some of the additions. If there's anything negative I have to say, it's minor. Some levels could've been designed better. Mainly those that had Red Star Rings on a hard to reach spots. Having to restart the level just because I messed up the jump on a platform that collapses after stepping on it once was annoying. Other than that, I enjoyed collecting them. And that's it. Overall, it was great. Easily one of the best 3D Sonic games from the 2010's, along with Sonic Generations. I usually post a platinum image here, but this time I won't. It didn't turn out to be so good (it was just a white screen). It makes the one I had for Crash 4 stand out even more. One last thing before I end this post. Happy 30th anniversary, Sonic! May there be another game in the future. *known as Colours in Europe, Colors in everywhere else Next project: Spoiler The Mummy Demastered This was brought to my attention by someone, since it's currently on sale. Not to mention, Halloween is around the corner, so I thought why not play something fitting for that time of the year. Since I've never done that before, I might as well do so. After that, I'm starting something different. Something that... I had no intention of playing. More about that next time. Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #290: Mighty No 9 Difficulty: 7.5/10 Excitement Rating: 3/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 15 - 20 Hours Hardest Trophy: Brave the Gauntlet ( Complete all themes in single-player Challenge Mode ) Get ready for one of the worst endings in a modern platformer... This game sucks. Literally. As a big Mega Man fan, Mighty No 9 was a big disappointment. Since I already said my piece on this game in my status update, I'll keep this brief. There are far, far better platformers to spend your money on than this. Mega Man 11. 20XX. Shovel Knight. Those are worth playing. Mighty No 9 is not. Picked this one up for free back in 2018 when it was offered on PS Plus. Don't bother to ask me, it takes me a very long time to get around to some games on my backlog. Despite the hard time I had with this game, I was determined to finish it. Challenge #36 is the worst of the worst, requiring you to beat the entire game on one life without dying at all, period. In a game full of death traps (purple electricity) and cheap sections, this was more punishing than it was rewarding. Second worst was the Boss Rush, took me a solid 12 hours or so to finally nail it. Hyper difficulty also gave me fits, as well as beating the game in under a hour since you get a speedrun trophy if successful. Some people may see this as a curiosity, but I see this as a bloated Kickstarter campaign where the money poured in certainly didn't show in the results. Tens of thousands of backers contributed to this game, and the giant wall of credits that make up four hours long is more like a wall of shame. Not worth your while. Popular Post guy_flies
"This is what we do" Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Such a relief this turned out to be good. I took a chance on a pre-order even though I thought the trailers made it look ugly, and knowing Eidos Montreal didn't do an amazing job on Marvel's Avengers. The trailers didn't do it justice as it was beautiful. And fun. And had a huge number of deep cuts for Marvel comic fans that constantly had me being Captain America "I understood that reference" throughout. Besides the look and fan references I thought the writing was pretty good. I could do with a few less rousing speeches from Star Lord, but I genuinely felt the characters were getting closer to each other as the story went on. I really hope for a sequel. As for the platinum it's pretty good. There's a collectibles trophy, which I usually bungle. You only need 65% of collectibles, so there's room to miss a few (there's a brief alternate story path locking you out of some items. And a few aren't able to be purchased as you need the funds to pay a fine in later chapter. So you're guaranteed to miss some, hence the 65% But it's still generous and gives you a few lore notes or Guardian artificacts you can miss without stress). The exception is uniforms. You must get all them and one was glitched. I spent about 15 minutes resetting and wrangling to force it. To reach it you must shimmy along a ledge, but as you come off the ledge you're pulled back like a magnet. The solution (in lieu of a patch) was to dodge in the direction of the box in the brief window you get control of Star Lord again between exiting the ledge and being pulled back to it. Expect a bit of frustration. Combat trophies were mostly fine. A lot you'll likely unlock automatically without trying. The only one I had to focus on was to kill 15 enemies with a charged shot while they're stunned. The charged shot takes a few seconds to build up, and it's really weak. It was quite hard to drain enough damage to be able to take it out with the charged shot AND stagger them AND avoid having someone else kill them in that small timing window. This might be my game of the year. There was/is quite a bit of DLC for Avenger's, so I hope we get some of that for GotG because I want more.

Popular Post RadiantFlamberge
#15 Crysis 3 Remastered Platinum - Earn all available trophies for Crysis®3 Remastered (ultra-rare 1%, uncommon 25%) Though it is the shortest of the Crysis trilogy, Crysis 3 is still very good. The Nano Catalyst from Crysis 2 has been done away with... you now find Nanosuit Upgrade Kits that serve the same purpose, with the suit special abilities each costing 1-3 kits. All the abilities have a certain requirement to unlock an enhanced version, such as remaining cloaked near enemies for 100 sec. total to upgrade Super Stealth (normally it gives you 50% faster cloaking and more scanner resistance, while the upgrade takes this to 75%). To enhance Heavy Armor, you need to absorb 150.000 damage with the Armor mode. One good way to make progress there is to let Scorchers light you up. HA starts at 20% stronger armor/less fall and burn damage, upgradeable to 33%. Early in the game, Psycho gives you the Predator Bow. This has some power especially when you turn the draw weight up to 3. It can pin enemies to walls. Fully charged bow shots can do a 1-hit kill. Your regular arrow type, the impact, can be pulled out of a dead enemy. That's not all... you also get electric arrows (try one on a couple enemies grouped in water), airburst arrows (explode on contact), and thermite arrows (time-delay explosion). These cannot be recovered until you find an arrow resupply cache. The level design mixes elements of both 1 and 2. Levels feel a little more open than 2's but a little less so than 1's. Instead of Tactical Options, you get the Secondary Objectives. You're now able to take Ceph weapons. These include the bolt sniper, pinch rifle, reaper cannon, X-Pac mortar, and the Incinerator. The Incinerator is a flamethrower that can be obtained from Scorchers. Sometimes you might not want to kill Ceph with explosives, because these weapons will be destroyed in the blast. Later in the game you find alien batteries that can supercharge your suit, and give these weapons unlimited ammo for a short time. Crysis 3 has considerably more collectibles to find than C2. You need to find all the Cell Intel items and every upgrade kit in the game, since the Suited-up trophy requires you to get and enhance all suit upgrades. It is possible to revisit previously played missions if you'd like another shot at finding certain items. Geared-up means you have to get all weapon attachments unlocked. Taking a gun will unlock the attachments on it for use with other guns. C3 Remastered performs much better than the original Crysis 3 PS3 port. On a PS4 Pro, C3-R does a good job holding its 30 FPS target. PS5 players get 60 FPS. Unfortunately, the PS4/5 remaster is missing the Post Human Warrior difficulty level (a 5th setting found in the PC version). Regrettably, there is an aggravating bug in the game that can result in you not getting the Nanosuit Veteran (clear mission 3 on Veteran) and Halfway to Hell (clear mission 3 on Supersoldier) when you should. Near the end of mission 3, quit your game and close the app, then backup your Crysis 3 Remastered save data to a USB stick so you can regress to that checkpoint if need be. Go back to the game and then play from that checkpoint... if the trophies don't come up like they should, you can overwrite your C3 system save data with the backup and try again. Let's hope Crytek and Saber get this bug sorted out.

Popular Post Cal
Platinum 56 Far Cry 3 Classic Edition I will say this if you own the PS3 version of Far Cry 3 and want to buy the Classic Edition...don't well at least not at full price since there is almost no difference between the PS4 version and the PS3 version form what I could tell. The Only difference is that the classic edition doesn't have the co-op trophies in it, this is a pretty lazy port but then again it's Ubisoft so I shouldn't of expected much...it's not even in 60fps for crying out loud. Buy it when it's on sale I got it for like $3, anyway not my favourite Far Cry game I enjoyed 4 and 5 much more, characters and story was just eh to me, yes even Vaas and I forgot the boss "fights" are just Quick time events but I mainly play the Far Cry games for the open world and shooting people, it's a good game but like I said before it's a lazy port.

Popular Post Valzentia
#38 - The Wolf Among Us (PS3) Difficulty: What difficulty?/10 Fun: 8/10 This is Telltale's prequel to the Fables comic series...but I don't read comics (outside of a few select manga) so i'm basically judging this as a standalone game. I love the dark 80's crime take on the fairy tale characters...it's kinda like Disney grew some nuts and did a Criminal Minds-style crossover with all of their versions of said fairy tales. Considering this IS a Telltale game, you don't necessarily play this for anything but the story...and it was a damn good story. With a free platinum trophy. Even without the trophies, this is still a great point-and-click adventure. I don't think i've ever played a single Telltale game that didn't hit the mark for me.

Popular Post alexandra-jane09
# 61 Maneater Interesting concept to play an animal, currently doing the DLC and the time trials annoyed me. I like the Miami Vice style music that plays when our Shark activates her mutation, certainly a homage to Jaws but set in the Deep South. I only experienced one bug in the game where my shark ended up spinning for no reason and the PS5 and controller just locked up so I had to reboot the console. Otherwise haven't experienced any glitches that other players appear to have happened with trophies.

Popular Post cr1s
#577 (+ 100%) - Worms Ultimate Mayhem Platinum Earn every trophy in game. Game Enjoyment: 8/10 Platinum/100% Difficulty: 6/10 And that's my third Worms platinum obtained! This is the Worms game that apparently has a leaderboard glitch that can prevent you from playing Ranked Matches and thus lock you out of the online trophies. I had known about it before starting the game and was a little worried but thankfully, my self-boosting session went perfectly fine and I got all of the online trophies done within a few hours. I initially wasn't sure what to think of the 3D environment, but it quickly grew on me and the game was as much fun to play as the previous Worms games I've played. As always, a large and varied set of weapons allows you to defeat enemy worms in many different ways. I tend to prefer the explosive weapons like Bazooka, Grenade, Dynamite, and Sheep, but other weapons have their own good uses too. It all depends on the situation at hand. You can even create your own weapon in the Weapon Factory, and it's actually needed for one trophy. It's nice that the game features different kinds of challenges. Most of them were fairly easy, but some like Icarus Potion, Jetpack 2, and a few Deathmatches were tricky and required many tries. Those Deathmatches also needed some luck, as sometimes the enemy AI hits you with pinpoint accuracy while at other times it gets derpy and misses (and in some cases hits its own worm(s)). The next set of Worms games I plan to tackle consists of Crazy Golf, Revolution, and Revolution Extreme. I've already done the online trophies in the Revolution games and Crazy Golf doesn't have online trophies, so I just need to complete their respective single-player portions. I'm gonna take a small break from the series to focus on other games, but I'll go back to it in the near future. #578 - Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Over 9000 Obtain all Trophies Game Enjoyment: 8/10 Platinum Difficulty: 5/10 The platinum isn't that hard in terms of difficulty, but it gets quite grindy at the end as you have to collect all the cards and items in the game, max out partner ranks on all characters, and spend a total of 50 hours playing missions. Thankfully, you can get many items through Random Collection, a feature of the in-game store that gives you a random item for each draw. You get a limited number of draws per week (60), but you can back up your save beforehand and just restart the game if you have really bad luck getting any item(s) from there. As for the 50 hours, you can equip a certain card that auto-blocks all enemy attacks and allows you to literally leave the game running for the entire duration of a mission (I picked Mission 42). Once the mission's timer runs out, you will fail the mission but the elapsed time will still count towards your total and you can just restart the mission and keep idle grinding that way. You do have to actively grind for the cards and partner ranks, but there are a couple of cards that lessen those grinds. Moreover, you have to wait a few weeks for the Weekly/Golden Line-Ups to refresh to be able to get all of the time-limited cards, as you can't get them another way and they're all required for the platinum. As for the difficulty, the main struggle was getting used to the characters and finding a great mix of cards/items and AI partners. The first half or so was easy, but the game got progressively harder towards the end. Some of the later missions can be tricky if you don't know of a good setup to tackle them. A huge thank you to my friend @Honor_Hand for playing through the whole game with me and helping with the online trophies. ^w^ I'd also like to thank the few randoms who joined our lobbies and made some missions easier with their great setups. 8D Speaking of the online trophies, the one hurdle with them was having to gather a total of 7 people for the team-based trophies. Basically, you need to make a team of specific characters and win against the other team for those trophies. While they can be done with just 2 people as the rest of the spots are filled with AI-controlled characters, what characters they choose is entirely random, so the needed characters may take a while to show up. That's why we opted to gather more people since it at least eliminates the luck-based element of constantly trying until the AI picks the right characters. Thanks to the people who helped us with those trophies as well. Besides that, the rest of the online trophies were fairly quick and not a hassle at all as they can be done with just 2 people. But yeah, it's nice to have finally played and platted a Dragon Ball game! I haven't watched the anime series, but I had always been interested in playing at least one game in the series. I enjoyed it for the most part and would definitely like to play other Dragon Ball games in the future. Deadly_Ha_Ha
#52 - Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW! Difficulty - 5/10 Enjoyment - 4/10 Do not play this game. I found myself with a strange affinity and tolerance for the unyielding bullshit in this game (thankfully for my sanity) but I have never played a worse performing game in my life. The technical problems with this game are well-documented but I went for it because it's rare and because it's an Adventure Time game. I have a great love for Adventure Time and I thought it would be cool to have a <1% game on my account since Armored Core: Verdict Day is sitting at exactly 1% at present. Well, in my opinion there are three main reasons why a game would have a platinum rarity squarely below 1%: The game is extremely difficult, the game is extremely grindy, or the game is extremely awful. Could be a combination of those things, but in this game's case it's just the latter; it's just beyond unacceptable. First of all, WayForward made this game and they should have done better. If this was just some no-name dev/publisher who wanted to cash in on a popular IP I could see it, and maybe that is what happened here, but WayForward is a good developer and my only explanation of this is that the game was so miserably optimized for home console release that it couldn't even be fixed, so they shipped it out knowing it was an abject technical failure. Funnily enough, this game is not a joke when it comes to difficulty. You wouldn't be able to approach the game's latter stages and the Nightosphere by going "It's an Adventure Time game, I'll turn my brain off and try to pretend like the game doesn't crash all the time." You'll probably get your ass kicked. The problem with the game is that it crashes. A lot. And let me tell you something, the gameplay is not the yolk holding this platinum together. The only thing that holds this all together is your honest to God tenacity in going for such a bullshit platinum. I'll have more of a rundown in my checklist, but if you want to play a good Adventure Time game, play Hey Ice King! on the DS because as far as I've experienced this series is given a raw deal on console. Best part of this whole platinum is that the trophy titles are all names of episodes in the show... @CelestialRequiem Edited October 31, 2021 by Deadly_Ha_Ha
