  1. 👋Hey everyone, I want to introduce a tool I made called RewindPS4 that can easily downgrade PS4 games. RewindPS4 works on the same principle as when we used the Charles tool for downgrading games, but automating the fiddly steps. You just need to provide the JSON link for the old game version you want. We all know that some older versions of games have certain "tricks" that make trophies easier to obtain or can avoid some glitches. For example,the latest version of Mafia 3, there are some glitches that prevent certain trophies from unlocking, but the older 1.09 version doesn't have this issue. In the new version of Final Fantasy 15, the comrades mode has been removed, and the only way to obtain trophies related to that mode is by downloading the older version. Download: Windows: https://github.com/Ailyth99/RewindPS4/releases Android: https://github.com/Ailyth99/RewindPS4_Android It's worth noting that RewindPS4 only supports downgrading PS4 games for now, not PS5 games. But you can use it on PS4/PS5 console to download older PS4 game versions. The tool provides two modes: Mode 1 lets you specify any version, then have your PS4/PS5 connect to the proxy network built by this program to download the old version. Mode 2 only works on PS4, completely blocking all patches to solely download the 1.0 initial release. How to use I've written up a detailed guide covering the usage process: USER GUIDE here macOS can actually be used as well, it's just a bit more complicated. The method is described in the guide. So yeah, it's a handy little utility I hope proves useful to everyone👏👏

  3. I've waited Aprils Fools to end so it wasn't taken mistakenly as a joke, but I'd like to announce I'll stop updating and reading this thread. I haven't been updating this properly for a few months so far due to other priorities in life. It was quite good being able to help the community for almost 7 years, hopefully someone can take up this job in a new thread (feel free to copy everything needed, formatting, content, whatever).

  4. Text and Video here on how to get platinum in under 1 hour, whatever works best for you. It's a fairly straightforward game 1/10 difficulty with this guide, perhaps a 2/10 with other guides and maybe a 6/10 with no guides. For any other info, it can all be found in the text guide below and for anything which may contradict what other guides say, then please leave a comment about it and I will explain. START - Intro. Sprint to the right climbing the ledges. Dig beneath the tree when it falls, then keep running. When the burning tree falls, run the opposite way and climb the ledge beside the billboards. Carry on left and climb the pipe you reach on the right side of the tower by holding the interact button. Once on the upper ledge, sprint to the right to reach an encounter at the cliff edge. After recovering from the fall, continue following the path to the right and enter the lair you eventually reach beneath the radio tower. TROPHY 1/28 - Home Sweet Home - Reach the first lair. NIGHT 1. Don't eat any trash for 6 days, or kill any animal for 5 days. Throughout the game, a bird can randomly spawn in certain locations and try to steal a cub if you're not quiet. You must let the bird try to steal your cub once, then follow the prompt to scare it away and then pet your cub afterwards for the LULLABY trophy, mentioned later. Bear this in mind. Food 1/16 - Stag - Run back to where you fell off the cliff earlier and interact with the deer carcass to get some food, then take it back to your lair. NIGHT 2. Run left to the T-junction and then go back into the lair. NIGHT 3. Cub Scent - Follow the scent to the right while examining the 3 investigation spots to complete the search for this evening. Now retrace your steps back to the lair. NIGHT 4. Pet 1/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs. Run left to the T-junction and then go back into the lair. In the lair, because you didn't collect any food, you will see a portion of your hunger meter about to be removed, quickly quit to main menu to prevent this. Remember this great tip! NIGHT 5. Cub Skill 1/8 - Jump - Story related. Pet 2/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs. Run left to the T-junction and then go back into the lair. TROPHY 2/28 - Peaceful Instinct - Do not kill any animal (fish, mouse, rabbit, pigeon, chicken) for five days. NIGHT 6. Pet 3/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs. Go right until the lair is out of view, then head back to your lair. TROPHY 3/28 - Detox Diet - Don't feed your cubs trash for six days in a row. NIGHT 7. Pet 4/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs. Go right until the lair is out of view, then head back to your lair. NIGHT 8. Pet 5/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs. TROPHY 4/28 - Mother Love - Pet your cubs at least once for five days straight. Food 2/16 - Berries - Keep following the scent and get these from the 2nd bush you pass. Food 3/16 - Fish - Continue left from the berries to shortly find this on the floor. Cub Scent - Keep following the scent and examine all 3 investigation spots. Once done, retrace your steps back to the main path that the lair is on. Then continue right without any turns and free the badger you eventually reach. TROPHY 5/28 - A Friend in Need - Release the Badger from the trap. Now return to the lair. NIGHT 9. Cub Scent - Follow the scent to the right all the way to the far fork at the industrial area. Then take the right path to reach the 1st investigation spot. Now carry on right to reach the 2nd investigation spot. Then head right to the final investigation spot. Now go back left and take the 2nd path on the right. Continue left behind the bin truck and then take a left at the next T-Junction. Then go left to jump across the river. Cub Skill 2/8 - Squeeze Through - Keep going left and jump the gap, then drop down to the power path where the cub falls to. Take the cub over to the planks on the left and interact with it to acquire this skill. Food 4/16 - Candy Bar - Go right back across the river, then jump up the 1st ledge on the right. Continue left and jump up the ledge just before the river. Keep going left and get this from the 1st squeeze through you reach. Food 5/16 - Vending Machine - Now go to the ledge slightly to the right and jump up to it. Now continue right to reach a vending machine and find this food.If the door is closed and you can't access it, then keep checking your map every night which we skip until you see a orange event icon appear where the vending machine should be, as this would indicate it's open, then just head back over quickly and loot the food! We actually come back very close to the vending machine in Night 27 (this Tinned Food definitely counts, though be careful as I've had some Tinned Food from elsewhere not register on a few test runs). Food 6/16 - Mushrooms - Now go back across the river and continue left into a flooded basement and have your cubs squeeze through the gap between the planks here to find this. Food 7/16 - Rabbit - Keep going left and you should eventually reach this. Sneak up to it, then pounce on it and feed it to your cubs. Now go left to the T-junction, then go right and dig beneath the fence. Then head into the nearby lair before the night ends. TROPHY 6/28 - Tasty - Enter your lair with a full stomach. NIGHT 10. Run left to the ledge at the T-junction and then go back into the lair. NIGHT 11. Run left to the ledge at the T-junction and then go back into the lair. NIGHT 12. Cub Scent - Go right and follow the scent all the way to the 1st investigation spot. Then continue right to find the 2nd investigation spot. Now head left following the scent to find the 3rd investigation spot, be careful of any traps along the way. TROPHY 7/28 - Never Give Up - Find all traces of the missing cub in the river area. Now interact with the jet engine at the 3rd investigation spot location to find the 2nd lair. TROPHY 8/28 - Surviving - Reach the second lair. NIGHT 13. Go right, back to the small ledge you climbed earlier, then return to your lair. NIGHT 14. Same as the previous night, go right back to the small ledge you climbed earlier, then return to your lair. If you encounter the Furrier on your way back, just follow the prompt and then move past him. NIGHT 15. Food 8/16 - Trash - Go left following the cub scent and you will eventually pass by this after a few turns. Cub Scent - Now follow this scent to find the first 2 investigation spots. TROPHY 9/28 - Lullaby - Pet a scared cub. Cub Skill 3/8 - Climb - Keep following the scent to the 3rd spot where you will find a house and a tyre swing. Interact with the tree to unlock this skill. Food 9/16 - Apple - Now climb the tree to cause the Scavenger to move away and then go right to find Molly who will give the cub an apple. Cub Scent - Now drop back down and get the 3rd investigation spot. Food 10/16 - Mouse - Now continue left and loot the dig spot beside the ledge to catch this food and reveal a shortcut. Now climb the ledge and head left back to the lair. NIGHT 16. Go right back to the small ledge you climbed earlier, then return to your lair. NIGHT 17. Keep going left on this same path, and take the next right (not the fallen tree) to where the Scavenger is. Now continue right past the Scavenger and you will find the badger's cub beside the tall ledge at the end. Grab the cub and then take it left back to the badger. TROPHY 10/28 - Maternity - Reunite the Badger's cub with their mother. Now head left back into your lair. NIGHT 18. Cub Scent - Follow the scent and examine the 3 investigation spots. Along the way, a badger will appear and reveal a new path for later. Food 11/16 - Meatballs - Now go back to the right and jump up onto the path that the badger revealed through the broken fence. Now continue right to go up a ramp and continue right to find this container on a platform. Food 12/16 - Chicken - Drop down the ledge near the previous food and wait for your cubs to drop down and recover. Then continue right to pass beneath the shutter door and enter the chicken assembly. Grab the chicken once it drops down and feed it to your cubs. TROPHY 11/28 - Chicken Dinner - Hunt a chicken for the first time. Cub Skill 4/8 - Hunt - Now continue right until you reach the car that says 'stay out' on the windscreen. Climb the ledge just after this car and then head left to find a house and jump up onto the cage just before this house. Now go right to shortly find yourself on top of a large red cage, then wait for your cub to drop into it to unlock this skill. Food - Mouse - Your cub will capture and eat this when it acquires the skill above. Now go back to the hole the badger made, but go straight past it and take the next left. Now go through the water and take the next right, then head left back to the lair. NIGHT 19. Go to the right past the first fork slightly, then go back into the lair. NIGHT 20. Go to the right past the first fork slightly, then go back into the lair. NIGHT 21. Event - Go right to find the Roamer, then bark 3 times in a row. TROPHY 12/28 - A Barking Fox Doesn't Bite - Bark at the Roamer. TROPHY 13/28 - Barking in The Rain - Bark three times in a row when it's raining. Cub Scent - Now go right following the scent and uncover all 3 investigation spots. TROPHY 14/28 - Never Let Down - Find all traces of the missing cub in the forest. Now interact with the 3rd investigation spot location to find the 3rd lair. TROPHY 15/28 - Hard Fox Life - Reach the third lair. NIGHT 22. Go right until the lair is out of view, then go back into the lair. Cub Skill 5/8 - High Jump - Story related. NIGHT 23. Molly - Now keep going right to find Molly. Interact with her when the prompt appears to let her pet you. TROPHY 16/28 - You Can Pet The Fox - Let Molly pet you. Food 13/16 - Potato Chips - Go left following the scent and you will reach a pipe near a bridge you run beneath with Molly in the background. Climb this pipe, then go left and drop down near the trash pile to land on a table where you can find this food. Food 14/16 - Pigeon - Capture one of these while discovering the 3 investigation spots. Be sure you crouch and pounce to catch it. Cub Scent - Now climb back down the pipe and follow the scent right to find the 1st investigation spot. Then follow the scent left to the 2nd investigation spot. Then continue left to the 3rd investigation spot. Cub Skill 6/8 - Deactivate Traps - Now go right and then take the 1st right you reach. Then keep running right to get caught in a trap and you will obtain this skill once the cubs free you. Food - Mouse - Go right and interact with the dig spot at the end to find a mouse and reveal a shortcut. Now climb onto the path above and then head right into the lair. NIGHT 24. Go right until the lair is out of view, then go back into the lair. NIGHT 25. Cub Scent - Follow the scent to the left and discover all 3 investigation spots. Now go left back to your lair, take care to avoid the Scavenger you pass on the way. NIGHT 26. Go right enough so that the lair isn't in view, then return and go back to sleep. NIGHT 27. Cub Scent - Follow the scent and examine the 1st investigation spot. Cub Skill 7/8 - Dangle - Jump up to the next right, then continue right and take the left path through the 4th and only open shutter, then climb the pipe at the end. On the upper catwalk, take the 1st right through the window and then interact with the bird nest at the end of this path to obtain this skill. Food 15/16 - Egg - Obtained while acquiring the skill above. Cub Scent - Now go back down the pipe and then through the shutter door. Then go left back to the main path, then continue left and take the next right. Now keep following the scent and discover the 2nd investigation spot. Cub Skill 8/8 - Dig - Go right a little more and interact with the prompt in front of the tunnel in the background to learn this skill. Food 16/16 - Worms - The cubs will dig this up in the step above. TROPHY 17/28 - For a Better Tomorrow - Learn all cub skills. TROPHY 18/28 - Omnivore - Let your cubs eat every kind of food in the game. Cub Scent - Head right to find the 3rd investigation spot. Now head back to the lair, be sure to let your cubs catch up after the water once you leave the sewers. NIGHT 28. Cub Scent - Now follow the scent and investigate all 3 spots to find your missing cub. TROPHY 19/28 - Never Run Around - Find the traces of the missing cub near the dumping ground. TROPHY 20/28 - Family Reunion - Rescue the missing cub. Now pet the hunter. TROPHY 21/28 - Beyond Words - Let the Scavenger pet you. Now retrace your steps back to the lair. NIGHT 29. Easter Egg - Now go right, drop down the 1st right and then go left into the nearby badger den to warp to the far top left corner of the map. Then from here, continue right all the way to the T-junction at the end. Now continue heading right to the end and then dangle your cub over the edge to obtain the Easter Egg. TROPHY 22/28 - Easter Egg - Have your cubs eat the Easter Egg. Now quit to the main menu and reload. Once you spawn back in your lair at the start of this night, go right enough so that the lair isn't in view, then return and go back to sleep. NIGHT 30. Cutscene. DESERT. Go left and rescue all 4 cubs from the water. You will need to pick them up one at a time, then take them right back to dry land. Once you have regrouped, continue all the way to the right to finish the game. Along the way, keep an eye out for any cubs falling behind and if any do, you will need to carry them briefly to cheer them up. TROPHY 23/28 - All For One - Finish the game with at least one cub alive. TROPHY 24/28 - Two Peas in a Pod - Finish the game with at least two cubs alive. TROPHY 25/28 - Three Little Foxes - Finish the game with at least three cubs alive. TROPHY 26/28 - We Are a Family - Finish the game with all cubs alive. TROPHY 27/28 - Extinction is Forever - Finish the game. TROPHY 28/28 - Endling - Unlock every trophy in the game.

  6. Source 1 Source 2 TL;DR: Xbox is updating the certification process and will fail games that can have their achievement list completed within a few hours of starting the game. The following are new rules: All achievements can be unlocked within a few minutes of starting the game Achievements do not represent a thorough exploration of or engagement with game content Achievements can be unlocked without any (or minimal) user input unless required as part of the core gameplay loop I think this is something that has been needed for years on PSN, and wonder if Sony will follow suit. What are your thoughts?

PSNProfiles is proud to announce the 10th annual It's that time of year again in which the PSNP's communities' guides are weighed against one another to determine the best of the best. 2023 is our 10th anniversary of guide publications and this year proved to be a strong year in publications with 630 guides published to date this year. Please give a round of applause to all of our authors and join us in preparation for the GOTY. Just like last year, three winners will be rewarded with the Guide of the Year Award! Also like last year, the format will be the same in where the team will be selecting the nominees with the community voting on the winners of each category. Unchanged however is that authors have a chance to win prizes in the 7 exceptional categories for guides in addition to the best overall top three guides. In total, 24 guides will receive rewards this year. These categories are for: Overall Guide of the Year 2023: The best of the best of all guides chosen for the year. The candidates for this category are made up of the selections of the seven categories below. Exceptional Trophy Guide: Any guide of exceptional quality that falls under the base "Trophy Guide" format this year. Exceptional DLC Guide: Guides for pieces of DLC or patches that add trophies made under the "DLC Guide" format. Exceptional Gameplay Guide: Any guide that is made under the "Gameplay Guide" format this year. Exceptional Use of Formatting: Some writers make their guide so clean and organized it is like an artwork by making great use of headings, colors, images, etc. Exceptional Use of Original Content: Some writers go the extra mile and make their own videos, images, and combination of these within their guide. New Authors: To celebrate the overall success of the community, and to encourage new authorship, we would like to recognize guides of exceptional quality from new authors who had their first guides published this year. Returning Authors: We would like to take this opportunity in the 10th year anniversary to celebrate veteran authors who have consistently contributed to PSNP and have a tenure of three years or more who have published a guide this year. Here are the rules: The guides in which the community will vote on will be hand picked and selected by the PSNP Guide Team and Moderation Team in round one, and then the community will vote on the selections made in round two to determine the winners. Only guides published between January 1st, 2023 and December 31st, 2023 are being considered by staff in the chosen list. You may not vote for your own guides if they are nominated. A special voting thread will be created on January 12th, 2024, in which the community will be able to vote on the staff selection. The voting thread will be closed after two weeks. The top three guides of each category and the top three guides overall will determine the winners of each of the categories as well as the overall GOTY winner. Staff member guides are not eligible to win the GOTY, however, Co-op guides with staff members will be eligible, in case a co-op guide ends up in the top 3, the non-staff writer will get the whole prize. In case a guide has more than 1 writer, the prize will be split between all guide contributors, so long as they contributed a meaningful amount to the guide. We track all edits so this will be checked. Disqualifications: An author may be disqualified from the GOTY qualifications, or GOTY recognition if they have received community strikes in the qualifying year. This includes Forum Mod points, Cheater Removal Team flags, Guide Team strikes (such as plagiarism and other occurrences), and general harassment in the community. Authors who are found to be soliciting votes, or are attempting to manipulate voting, will be disqualified from the event. Users who try to use alternate accounts will have all votes nulled. Voting Requirements: You will be required to give a minimum of 2 choices per category. A list will be provided in the future voting thread under the seven qualifying categories. A user's vote is only valid if the users account is older than 1 year old, with 50 post older than 8 months. Authors are exempt from this restriction. GOTY2023 Prizes: For the moment you all have waited for, the GOTY2023 Prize Pool! Every Guide Writer: The Ultimate Prize: is the satisfaction of helping gamers all around the world. Give yourself a well-deserved pat on the shoulder.   11. Just got Community Surprise on my PS5. Here are the Steps: - Map Editor -> Assault -> Start Map Editor - Set a Spawn Point (L2 -> Add Gameplay Objects -> Player Spawn Point) - Add an Enemy (Add AI -> Enemy Wave 1) - Set both anywhere - Press Start -> Save -> A warning will show that the map has not passed validation tests -> Select Yes - Save with any name - Exit to main menu (might not be neccesary) - Go to Map Editor -> All my Maps -> <Your Map> -> Play - Kill the Enemy or get killed - Trophy should unlock Tested this on both PS3 and PS5. Didn't test this on PS4 but this should work there as well.

  13. - THE RESULTS - Hello PSNProfiles! It's that time of year again, the 10th annual results for the Guide of the Year Awards. As with previous years, we award the top 3 guides a special seal on their guide, then award the 21 winning guides in the excellent categories. In the event of a tied position, or a winner with collaborators, the awarded prize money is split evenly. In the past year, the author community was able to beat several records such the record for most trophy guides published in a single year, most guides published in a month for, June, July, September and October. The record for most guides published in Summer (Jun-Aug) and Autumn (Sep-Noc) was also broken, well done everyone! We continue to see a rise of PS5 publications and a fall in PS4 publications, and expect them to be about even in the next publication year, and for PS5 to continue to be the most published platform in future years. We had 226 unique authors this year, 294 days of publications, and 628 overall guides published. Now the moment you've all waited for, the winners! I decided to make this so everybody can have a look at what is available on the store and as well to have a reference when buying a physical copy (and see if it is a bargain or not - some physical copies go real high). The good thing about this is prices should forever be the same (and never discounted) so there shouldn't be a lot of necessary adjustments.   19. Hello VR party people, this forum section is in desparate need of some content, if you ask me. I merged an older and a brand new reddit post of mine together into the following list of ratings and reviews of PSVR2 games I completed to date. I'm using a rating out of 5 ★ for both the game in general, as well as its trophy list. Those ratings and the following ramblings are all totally subjective and I'm happy about any and all debates this might spark. I also include an approximation of my completion times, as per a mix of the PS5s internal (and often bugged) tracking, the psnp tracking and educated guessing. According to our very own VR leaderboard I'm currently the #1 non-regionstacking VR trophy hunter in the world, but it's a fleeting title. Shoutout to @KyonKuchiki and @MikeCheck-- for keeping it region-stacking free and interesting at the top. Here we go, enjoy my rants and add your own! ---------------------------------- Across the Valley 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★☆☆☆☆ ⏱11 Animal friendly farming simulator that has you upgrade buildings and buying more and more animals, constantly adding to the complexity of your work day and the produce of the farm. Depending on your skill and efficiency in minigame type settings you gain more or less return from your fields and animals. Unfortunately, the gameplay loops are overall more annoying than fun, there are a few pretty unsatisfactory mechanics and general gameplay issues on top of a shit-tier trophy list. The devs were pretty engaged after release though and tried to fix issues as soon as possible, so I give a bonus star. Still, this is only for people who really crave farming in their living room - or wherever you have your PSVR set up. After the Fall 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱24 Coop zombie shooter similar to Left4Dead, port from the PSVR1. Has many weapons, parts, mods and skins to grind for, so the replayability is solid. With crossplay there is always a healthy amount of people to play with. Especially in a group it’s great fun and the PS5 version profits from the better controllers and higher resolution. Unfortunately, it’s still riddled with unacceptable technical issues. Lots of bluescreens on higher difficulty, disconnecting from lobbies, glitched runs. On nightmare difficulty many people can’t play even a few rounds in a row without anyone in the group disconnecting or crashing. It’s way better on lower difficulties, but eventually you obviously don’t want to play those anymore. The trophy list would be pretty decent, if not for one insane and entirely over tuned 20+ hour grind. Afterlife VR 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱2-3 Pretty enjoyable horror title of the classic “haunted asylum” type. You try to find out what’s going on in the mental hospital while solving puzzles and putting together clues and the general story. Nothing mindblowing, but solid implementation. This genre loves generating shovelware like no other, but this game is clearly above that. The trophy list has the potential to get annoying, as the collectibles are a challenge, but the game as a whole is rather easy. Altair Breaker 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱8 Japanese sword action fighting game, mech-themed. The gameplay loop is running solo or coop through a number of arena-style levels until a final boss, then upgrading in a central hub area to get ready for the next run. The enemies get stronger over time, scaling to the lowest player level in the party. Gameplay and graphics are smooth and the first hour is very fun. Especially getting the hang of gliding around the various large arenas and then dropping onto enemies is very satisfying. At some (early) point you’ll probably realize that you have seen everything there is to do in the game though. Each run contains the exact same arenas, just in a different order. Enemies are all the same few models. Upgrading becomes expensive and therefore a bit grindy and doesn’t do much visually. Your swords and clubs and whatnot just get a bigger damage number or crit a bit more often. Without trophies, I don’t feel there would be much incentive to play this game for long, as there doesn’t seem to be much of a carrot to chase. The trophies are easy, most get awarded for very simple things within the first few runs. Reaching level 20 and beating the bosses final form takes a bit longer, but the most grindy challenge is a whopping 1.000 enemy kills. That one makes this trophy list ultimately overstay its welcome by a few hours. Overall a solid game to have some easy fun, especially with a group, but nothing to keep you engaged for long hours. Another Fisherman's Tale 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱2-3 Sequel to the beloved gem “A Fisherman’s Tale” from PSVR1. Same as back in the day on PS4, you are listening to a storytelling captain while navigating a bunch of puzzles in a charming environment. Unfortunately, that’s all those two titles have in common, as the game we got here can’t tie on the first at all. The story is shorter than the first and less compelling, same as the style of puzzles. Where the first played with perspective and room-in-room type puzzles, the second has you solve the various predicaments by detaching and controlling individual body parts, mainly the head and different substitutes for the hands, which kept feeling somehow “off” to me until the end. Ultimately, the style of Another Fisherman’s Tale didn’t come close to what the first game offered and left me a bit disappointed. It’s not a bad game at all, but it’s sad to see this one adding only to the many mediocre games we currently have in the library, instead of becoming a hidden gem like the first was. The trophy list adds insult to injury, with the lack of both a platinum and any gold, while being unimaginative and boring. Awesome Asteroids 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★★★★ ⏱1 In this game you cruise around in a space fighter and protect your objective by shooting at waves of asteroids or the odd enemy ship here and there. It reminded me very much of the PSVR1 launch title “Eve: Gunjack”, that had you operate a gun turret in a similar setting. Shovelware without any glaring issues, but not a lot of gameplay either. You have freedom of movement in space though, which as far as I know no other game on PSVR2 offers currently. It’s a great game for the quick trophy hunter in particular, as the full list, including a platinum and seven gold trophies, is up for grabs in under an hour. And if you absolutely need to scratch that space itch, this is a temporary fix until we get a worthy PSVR2s equivalent to Star Wars Squadrons. Beat Saber 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱31 An all-time VR classic, deservedly a staple in the top 10 of most bought PSVR titles since release, and now on PS5 still one of the absolute best VR games I have played. I don’t even like the rhythm genre that much, but this game is special. Once you get used to cutting blocks and learn the songs, this game flows like no other and is both addictive and a workout at the same time. And not only is it the perfect showcase for visitors and VR newbies, it makes you feel like a Jedi-Master, too! The trophy list is demanding while being rewarding and compared to many other rhythm games neither unfair nor a push-over. Absolutely everybody needs to have this game in their library. Before Your Eyes 🎮★★★★★ 🏆☆☆☆☆☆ ⏱“3“ Story game with cartoon graphics that makes use of the eye detection of the PSVR2. You change scenes by blinking or looking at certain things, absolutely no controller input needed. This is kind of an odd one out of my list because I don’t have the platinum at the point of writing this. Even after the latest patch, the trophy list is broken for all but a small percentage of players, so 1 or 2 trophies can’t be obtained. I completed the game multiple times though and definitely wanted it on here, because it’s an absolute stunning experience. I have never been so emotionally hit by a VR game and recommend it to everyone. I don’t want to spoil anything, just have tissues and someone to hug nearby. This is a masterpiece of alternative storytelling. Brain Beats 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★★★★ ⏱2 Underwhelming Beat Saber/Synth Riders clone. People might recognize this as the uncoupled DLC from PSVR1’s “Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams”, so this is technically a port and not a new game. As far as rhythm games go, this one is pretty plain and easy with a small but alright song selection. Amazing for trophy hunters, but for everybody else, the only reason to get this over the two afore-mentioned would be one’s budget. Break Stuff VR 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱4-5 In four different levels you throw things from a table in front of you and try to break stuff in the environment for cash. Cash in turn unlocks more and heavier things to throw as well as new levels. The throwing physics work incredibly well in this game, but other than that it’s not that great. Progression is unnecessarily tedious as you have to play the current stage over and over and over again to get to the next one, and the graphics are pretty rough too. The trophy list, despite being a very dry grind, is overall easy and a sure hit for the steeled mind of the trophy hunter. Budget Cuts Ultimate 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱17 Stealth-action game with a funny premise (robots took over the world, humans are obsolete in the workforce and are now being hunted by HR) and a focus on speedrunning and creativity in solving the levels. This game is unique in being a port from PS4, but with a little extra. The ultimate edition released on PS5 contains the “old” Budget Cuts 1 as known from PS4, as well as the new Budget Cuts 2, that never made it to PS4. This game currently doesn’t get a lot of love and indeed the release version had half its trophy list bugged and graphics that didn’t do too well compared to other PSVR2 titles. After a patch the entire trophy list is achievable now (and it’s a pretty fun one!) and the graphics got a pretty decent upgrade, too. I like this game quite a bit and with the sense controllers it handles much better on PS5 than it did back in the day on PS4, which was teleport only. I stand by my rating, but it’s definitely higher than most people would award, be aware. Cave Digger VR 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱6 Port from PS4 with a little bit more content than the pre-patched PS4 version had. You are going on runs down a mining shaft, smacking rocks and collecting valuables for money to upgrade your selection of gear and the town around the mining shaft. End-game is doing the same loop, but on and around a train that basically turns your vertical runs into horizontal ones. The overall premise of the game is alright, but it’s still as rough as it was on PSVR1, with some crashes, bugs and control issues. If you aren’t a trophy hunter, there is no reason to get this game over Cave Digger 2, which has way more content and behaves a little bit more reliable (but is still far from the state that could be called “polished”). Cave Digger 2: Dig Harder 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱7 Port from a PSVR1 game. You’re a miner equipped with several upgradable tools (pickaxe, pistol etc.), set out to get rich by riding down elevator shafts, mining different gems or collecting artefacts while shooting at enemies. Every shaft has three progressively more rewarding floors (randomly generated) with a safe full of valuables at the bottom. This basic loop (which takes anywhere between 2-15 minutes, depending on your approach) is spiced up by a quest system, tasking you with stuff like killing enemies, destroying bottles, or scanning spots in the overworld. I enjoyed this game quite a bit more on the PS5, as it ran a bit smoother, looked noticeably better and had less crashes than the PS4 version. The movement with the Sense controllers is also far, far superior to the old Moves. Still, the game gets a bit clunky at times and is prone to stuttering and infrequently crashing the farther into the endgame you get. The trophy list is pretty easy to complete, but the “endings” are very obscure to trigger without a guide and there is one collectible trophy that is a bit of a grind. Not a mind-blowing game, but fun enough and a good playground for trophy hunting. Cosmodread 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱8 Remember the amazing rogue like space-horror “The Persistence” from PS4? This is a similar game, but on a budget. A bit smaller and shorter, fewer mechanics, toned-down color palette, but the same idea. Each new run through a monster-infested mothership mixes up layout and active mods, like more enemies, less ammo etc., but also gives you the chance to find permanent blueprints to enhance future runs. You are tasked to completed specific objectives (enter coordinates, start warp drive, initiate jump, flee to hangar) to get back home to earth. The implementation here is very, very solid for a small indie game and friends of the genre should absolutely hop in here and enjoy the trip. This game is on the easier side of the genre too, so it’s unlikely that finishing the game poses an insurmountable goal, even for casual Charlie. The trophy list is pretty bad unfortunately, lacking a platinum and overall oomph. Cosmonious High 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱8 A colorful puzzle game with lots of imaginative tasks in an alien high school. You are the new kid at the school and have to earn credits by attending classes and cleaning up various messes in the hallways. You unlock multiple superpowers progressing the story, including the mastery of elements, reading minds or manipulating the size of objects. While definitely aimed at younger audiences, I found the game to be cute, clever and endearing. The possibilities of goofing around with objects seem endless. The mechanics are very similar to Vacation Simulator, but Cosmonious High is the bigger playground. Unfortunately, it started to mess up towards the end with some crashes, stuttering and bugs. The trophy list with a platinum and 7 golds can be completed in one weekend, if you try to be fast and use a guide for the collectibles. Creed: Rise to Glory 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★★★ ⏱2 A boxing game tied to the successful movie series or the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rise of Adonis Creed. Port from the PS4, but with a reworked trophy list (slightly less points, but massively easier too). You train, you box, you train some more and then box some more and then you have seen everything the game has to offer. The graphics are clean and sharp, and so is the gameplay, tempting me to give this a fourth star, but there simply isn’t enough content to warrant that. What little there is, is absolutely solid though and people who play this for a workout will likely get way more out of it than people playing it for the campaign only. Sticking mainly to solo play is mandatory though, as the multiplayer is dead, or near so. For any trophy hunter not disgusted by buckets of sweat (who are we kidding, we start sweating when opening our eyes in the morning) this is a must have. Don’t forget the real shower after the trophy shower. Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱“21” Episodic anime crime-novela in a sci-fi/fantasy setting, high similarity to “Altdeus: Beyond Chronos” from PSVR1, but way better in every aspect. You as the protagonist try to solve a murder in a domed city, far in the future, while trying to avoid being murdered yourself. One of your skills luckily is jumping back to points in the past, giving you the chance to make difference choices and uncover more about the story and various characters in the game world. Episode 3 of 3 isn’t released at the point of writing this, but that shouldn’t impact the review much. This is a very niche genre among the US and EU population, so rating it is a bit hit or miss. If you like games with a minimum of gameplay, but a maximum of dialogue and story AND like anime, then this is a very solid choice for you. The graphics are top-notch, same as the voice-acting and depth of the story. The trophy list requires attention to detail and some research, as not everything can be solved by intuition alone. Garden of the Sea 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱5 Absolute gem of a game. While the trailer makes it look like a farming sim, it’s actually more of an exploration puzzler. On a colourful island world, you expand a homebase by exploring your surroundings and discovering formulas for various items and buildings. Ingredients can be fed into a machine that crafts the desired product. A stable for the cute animal wandering the island, for example, might require fence parts, stones and certain plants, with the fence parts having their own formula to produce them. A central mechanic is also collecting a multitude of different plant seeds from all around the game world and growing them in your personal garden to have the adult plants readily available for completing new tasks. In the beginning you mostly encounter basic tasks and simple receipts, but after a while you unlock more islands, more complicated formulas and more animal friends! This game has lots of elements you might recognize from the PSVR1 title “Winds and Leaves”, which was an amazing game in its own way, just with a slightly different style. The game isn’t very long and is sadly lacking a platinum trophy. Some of the formulas required for progress are also a bit tricky to figure out and might have you travel to a bunch of wrong places before you find out where to get what. If you are open to playing calm, colourful and relaxing VR games, this is a must have title. Gran Turismo 7 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★☆☆☆☆ ⏱71 One of the three AAA titles in the launch line-up. The game needs little introduction and if you are even mildly interested in the racing genre, this is a no-brainer purchase. More interesting is the question about possible peripherals, which can quickly rival the cost of the console itself. If you have the disposable income for wheel, pedals & co, it’s a stunningly immersive experience and the definitively best way to play. If you don’t want to drop that kind of money for a complete racing setup, the game handles and feels great with the Dual Sense controller, too. Considering almost all PSVR2 games require the Sense controllers, having a VR game to play while they charge is a great bonus perk. While outside the car windows not quite as sharp as the trailers would have you believe, the clarity and detail of the interiors of the cars is amazing. The game is otherwise what you would expect from a high-quality racing sim, so people who come from Mario Kart will likely have to endure quite a learning curve, depending on what they want to achieve in the game. The trophy list was an absolute pain to complete, offering all facets of suffering known to trophy hunters. Grinding, RNG / time-gating and insanely difficult license tests made this the hardest trophy list I have completed in years. I would still only recommend not to get this title if you really don’t like the racing genre or get very frustrated by a game ruffling your feathers here and there. Horizon Call of the Mountain 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱10 The second of the AAA launch titles. Set as a side story in the timeline between Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, this game is a mix of tech demo for PSVR2 and fan service for Horizon enjoyers. And when I say “tech demo”, I don’t mean it derogatory, because wow does this demo the shit out of the tech. This was the first game I tested the new headset on and it spoiled me for all the other games that came after. People call this game a climbing simulator and I get it. Some are disappointed with the lack of open world or free movement in combat and I get it too. Yet, this is by far the best-looking game of the entire library (this and RE8) and my hot take is that this is the only native PSVR2 game we currently have that makes any effort at being a true “generational leap” over PSVR1. It’s not perfect, but HCotM made it painfully obvious to me that games currently have to compromise way too much, being held back by the demand of other, less powerful systems. But the potential is there and I can’t wait for new PS exclusive IPs to blow all the years-old steam/oculus/PS4 titles out of the water. The trophy list was a bit challenging, as pretty much no one had completed the game yet and made guides (back in the days of February 2023, the older ones of you might remember). The options for backtracking are limited and you have to repeat missions fully when trying to clean-up all the collectibles. Meanwhile, you’ll get the same prompts and unskippable cutscenes over and over, which becomes quite irritating. Luckily you guys won’t have that problem, nowadays there are plenty of 100% walkthroughs available. I massively enjoyed my time with the game, neck and back pain notwithstanding. There is no excuse not to have this game in your library. Hubris 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱4 Sci-fi adventure in a very generic setting. You crash on a planet and have to get the base working again while the unimaginative story unfolds around you. Pretty much “Farpoint” from PSVR1, but worse in every single aspect other than lush graphics. In fact, this game gets carried pretty far by how pretty it looks, but lacks in every other department. The voice acting is meh, asset and enemy variety is noticeably low, the KI is dumber than your average Andrew Tate cultist, there are glitches, sometimes oddly obscure progression, one level is designed so horribly bad that it feels like a random intern took over for that part (the hoverbike section) and then there is the biggest offender of all: climbing. There is lots of climbing and it’s absolutely terrible compared to pretty much any other game with climbing in it. Grab detection while trying to climb is atrocious, unintuitive, unpredictable and unreliable. On the other hand, climbing is pretty much the only source of deaths in the game, because even on the highest of three difficulties it’s still easier than most games set to lowest difficulty. The trophy list is juicy, you just have to know that the counter for fall deaths ironically doesn’t work as intended and only counts once per session. Job Simulator 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★★★ ⏱2 In a museum for robotic visitors of the future you decide between one of four cartridges/displays, in which you interactively learn about traditional human jobs (mechanic, clerk, cook and accountant). You get accompanied by an AI buddy who guides you through the respective job and offers insightful titbits about the life and habits of the silly and inefficient humans. As an all-time classic and probably the most showcased VR game for friends and family around the globe, this was found in the monthly top ten list of PSVR1 downloads since the beginning of time. It’s still one of the more accessible titles for newcomers and a great choice for first ventures into the rabbit hole of trophy hunting. Personally, I don’t think it aged amazingly well though. While the PS5 version seems to have a few more funny and up-to-date Jobs added to the cartridges, the scope of the game is still very small compared to the newer goofy sandboxes (like Cosmonious High or Vacation Simulator even) and people with a couple of VR hours under their belt will likely feel a bit bored or annoyed by limitations like not being able to turn via stick. Ironically, this pretty small game demands a rather large, obstacle-free space to play. If you do have the space and like to show off VR to first-timers, this is still a very nice game to have in your library. Jurassic World Aftermath Collection 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱9 Alien isolation type stealth puzzler. In a story setting very typical of the Jurassic Park franchise, you are crashing on Islar Nublar and subsequently try to fix various catastrophic failures within the facilities systems, while sneaking and crawling from room to room or hiding in air vents and lockers to avoid detection from murderous dinos. The art style of this game is pretty unique, looks very much like last year’s PSVR1 title “Fracked” (or a toned-down Borderlands). Voiceover and story are nothing groundbreaking, but perfectly fine for a game like this. There isn’t much competition in this genre and there is a compelling thrill in the first few hours. After a while though, the graphical variety leaves a bit to be desired, mechanics become repetitive and the core premise of the game starts to feel not threatening, but forced and mildly annoying. Too much of the gameplay becomes waiting in a locker until the raptor is done sniffing around and leaves the room again. This becomes a particularly irritating waste of time when you get stuck, as it’s not always immediately obvious what or where the next objective is. Checking a guide prior to running through the game avoids a huge headache in regards to the trophies. All but two are unmissable and story related, but if you fail to pick up any of six dino plushies and cross the point of no return, you will have to play two thirds of the entire game again. Overall, the game is alright, but playing it more than once, just for one missed plushie, wasn’t fun. There is also the occasional bluescreen, and I heard the PS4 version in particular has technical issues. Kayak VR: Mirage 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱10 This game does what its name says, it’s a kayaking simulator. Four different maps with some weather and daytime effects + some options for races and unlockable cosmetics. My take will make some people a bit angry, but here we go: This game was an overhyped disappointment for me. I can see why people new to VR enjoy the water effects and the details of very close objects. Those two aspects are undeniably nice, and the pool you start in when loading up the game looks cool and polished too, but ultimately those things aren’t doing a good job of hiding the mediocrity behind them. Anything two kayak lengths away simply doesn’t look convincing, especially in daylight setting. Night time and shadows work better, but this game is graphically still a joke if you stop and look even a tiny bit closer. There are fish that look like cardboard, the scenery looks washed out, the sky is mostly static, large parts of the maps are lifeless in an uncanny way, you quickly find the immersion breaking map boundaries (especially looking under water), the controls are prone to messing up and at the end of the day, the game is very shallow. There has also been a severe technical issue for multiple people, resulting in permanent loss of progress. I had start from km 0 again, after having my previous save with 80km on the clock corrupted for good. If you have a very casual approach to VR, show it around a lot and do short sessions on average, this game is likely a fine and feel-good purchase. Otherwise, be aware that the hype might sell you this game as something it is not. Last Labyrinth 🎮★☆☆☆☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱5-7 Escape room game, anime styled, with a high number of branching paths to multiple “endings”. This isn’t the worst game on PSVR2, but it’s the worst of the ones that are also infuriating enough to possibly cause the player to damage their game room. The pacing is so insanely slow that you feel like being drained of all your energy in between each of the horribly imbalanced and obscure puzzles. At the epitome of ambivalence, you watch with immense joy and profound irritation as the imbecile NPC, who is pushing you on a wheel chair from torture room to torture room, is killed in a multitude of perfidious ways. I don’t know what this pile of garbage of a game wants to tell me, neither acoustically (with the NPC talking gibberish non-stop, regardless of language settings), nor artistically. This absolute piece of junk should, if even, only be endured by trophy hunters following a guide to the letter, to minimize the brain damage cause by it. Masternoid 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱8 A PSVR2 spin on the arcade classic Arcanoid. Here, you move 1-4 balls in a 3D space with the goal to destroy all bricks in the level, which are arranged in various creative ways. The game is easy to learn, but offers a nice skill ceiling to attempt maximum points each level to get on the leaderboard or unlock the trophies. This is unironically a sleeper hit and one of, if not the best arcade game in my collection. Soundtrack, graphics, gameplay, everything flows perfectly together for an addictive and Zen-like experience and I would not have expected that from watching the trailer. Part of the appeal for me too is that it’s on the easier side and not as brutal as we know other arcade games to be. The trophy list is very achievable and fun. It had a bugged trophy on release, but the devs reacted quickly when I reported the issue. Math World VR 🎮★☆☆☆☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱4 12 similar minigames that have you do basic math for points, like smashing plates that show a number that can be divided by 5, or shoot a paintball gun at targets that add up to a given number etc. This game is very unpolished with a wide variety of bugs. The devs fixed two broken trophies quickly after I reported the issue, but other broken things are still in the game. This is an unpolished mess and currently the worst game on PSVR2 in my book. The only non-meme reasons to ever get this would be trophy hunting (you can afk the entire trophy list after getting all prices from the in-game shop) and for small children who’d enjoy learning math this way. But considering y’all let your 6-year-olds play Pavlov all day, I don’t see that happening either. Moss / Moss: Book II 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱4 / 5 I played these two games back-to-back on PS5 and think they are very similar in all aspects, so I rate them together here, too. You as the “reader” are a meta-being outside the story, frequently breaking the fourth wall and helping the little mouse protagonist Quill to save her world from impending doom. You do that by moving her through highly detailed and lovely crafted puzzle rooms, that have you fight enemies, parkour Quill around on platforms, reach switches or interact with objects. The one most fitting word to describe both titles is simply “Masterpieces”. Although both games are long released on PS4, I still found them to be shining examples of VR game design on PS5. The detailed world building, the storytelling, the gameplay, the polish, everything about these two games is stunningly awesome. On top of that, both have tons of trophies, most of which are fun and easy. The only minor obstacle on the way to the platinums will likely be the two types of collectibles, glass fragments and relic dust. There are guides for both, but finding all relic dust is still tricky, as it requires breaking most objects on every screen. Finding the one or two missing vases or barrels after completing the game could be quite a challenge. As the question comes up quite a bit on this sub: The two books are almost seamlessly intertwined and it only makes sense to get both, or start with book I and go from there. Nock 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★☆☆☆☆ ⏱3 This game is both unique and…not. It’s unique for being a sports game where you shoot arrows at a ball, trying to score goals against the opposing team of 1, 2 or 3 people. And it’s not unique because it’s basically Rocket League, but without a player base. The game is very barebones, lacking a decent lobby system and core menu options. An example is that every time you are back at the main menu, the same song plays and you have to manually and individually click forward to get to different songs. I suspect the devs allocated most of their resources toward skins on the battlepass, which is highly irritating. I also never warmed up to the core mechanic. Due to the nature of the PSVR headset, drawing your bow behind your head loses tracking, resulting in erratic shots. Not drawing that far results in less tension and more unreliable arrow vectors. Due to the lack of players, you have massive skill gaps in most of your matches, resulting in one sided stomps, followed by getting the same player back-to-back in matchmaking. Overall, this game was not very enjoyable, but I can see what it could have been. The trophy list is very lackluster, too. This could’ve been the measure to keep more players longer, but no, that battlepass needed more tiers. Organ Quarter 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱4 Linear horror game with a nice set of different sections and a cool, creepy-rusty-gore-y atmosphere. Not a shooter per se, as you try to avoid enemy encounters and wasting ammo if possible. Very much like a budget, low-action Silent Hill. The game gets hailed like the second coming of Christ by a vocal minority from the PC forums though, and I just don’t see it. This is clearly a low budget indie project, and it shows. Vast empty sections turn this game into a walking sim for most of the time, the graphics are below average, asset variety is super low and the game is quite short. It’s also a bit finicky to get into, especially the early progression is annoying to figure out, but in the second half it becomes much more straightforward. The trophy list offers a good amount of points and only has a few miscellaneous ones that require looking out for. Pavlov 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱13 The PSVR2 fps game. Ported from the highly successful steam version, this game offers amazing Counter-Strike styled gameplay in various modes (TTT, S&D, DM, TDM, Zombies and more). Getting started in this game tends to be brutal, due to the complex gun handling. After a few hours, everything starts to become second nature though and the game opens up to a deep, varied and immensely fun experience. The playerbase is solid, with many modes getting hosted at all hours and most interactions in lobbies are friendly and often hilarious. The gameplay is smooth, the graphics crisp. A very minor issue for some could be that crossplay currently isn’t working, although I doubt people would really prefer to get matched with 1k hour PC veterans in their lobbies just yet. My only gripe with this awesome game has been the lackluster trophy list. The trophies are tacked on to the game like an afterthought, there is no platinum and while not requiring much effort, it often seemed like they didn’t work as anticipated. I’ll take this list over an unobtainable or heavily bugged one every day, but would’ve liked to have more reason to stay with the game a bit longer. In regards to expected upcoming fps titles, this game sits comfortably in the large gap between the hyper-fast and rather simple Alvo and the very tactical and slow-paced Firewall. The typical fps connoisseur won’t have any reason not to extensively play all three, or at least both Pavlov and Firewall. Pistol Whip 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱4 On-rails, rhythm-based shooter with tons of tracks, modifiers and highscores to chase. Alongside bass intense music you shoot bad guys in polygon styled levels and reload on beat for points, while avoiding off beat actions and getting shot. This game has a great flow to it and is rightfully cherished as one of the top PSVR1 titles. The port to PSVR2 doesn’t innovate much, but doesn’t have to, either. The unique concept still works, the game is captivating and more of a workout than most people will expect. As soon as you get the general idea about how to move efficiently to avoid enemy gunfire (see Christian Bale in “Equilibrium”, but more squatting), playing the game quickly becomes addictive and the trophy list turns out to be a satisfying and rewarding endeavor. If you ever skipped leg day you might have trouble moving much at all the next day though. Pixel Ripped 1978 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱5 I have to admit that I never played a Pixel Ripped before - I never touched the one in my backlog on PS4 - so I didn’t know much about what to expect. This turned out to be a cozy, nostalgic trip to the good old sidescrollers era, with some clever switching between 2D and minecraft-looking 3D sections. I’m probably overshooting the rating a bit here, with the game being a tad short on content and not tapping the full potential of the involved franchises, but I enjoyed it quite a bit amongst the titles we currently have on PSVR2. What I did not enjoy were the collectible trophies. They are implemented horribly and having the golden cartridge counter stuck at 39/40, forcing you to carefully replay each and every inch of the game is pure torture and should be forbidden by Sony decree. Red Matter 2 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★★★ ⏱4 Sequel to the acclaimed first Red Matter on PS4, a sci-fi/horror adventure puzzle, this game sets a new benchmark for graphics on PSVR2. It’s actually mindboggling how good this game looks, leaving most other releases in the dust and at last-gen optics. This is what I dreamed PSVR2 to offer, back in November ‘22, but what we sadly only get on very rare occasions. Same as in the first part you are an astronaut on a dead space station (you travel a bit in this one though), akin to communist Russia of the cold-war era, trying to find out what happened to your team, the station and the research being done on it. This game is much lighter on puzzles and horror elements than the first one, but in turn adds a bit more fighting and story depth. If you really, really dislike short games, deduct one star from my rating and still get this title. The trophy list is solid and everything missed can be cleaned up later via chapter select in “new game”. Resident Evil Village 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★☆☆ / 🏆☆☆☆☆☆ ⏱34 And here is the third AAA game we’ve got so far. Building on the story of RE7, this game continues to follow Ethan Winters along his gruesome journey of trying to save his family. The game has amazing graphics and atmosphere plus lots of replay value with a juicy list of unlockables (e. g. weapons, infinite ammo, a lightsaber !!1!), a DLC with a short but great sequel story and a wave mode, called Mercenaries. Unfortunately, on PS5 the VR mode is much less integrated than it had been done for RE7 on PS4 back in the day. Flat mode progress can’t be carried over to VR and you can’t earn any trophies. The DLC and Mercenaries modes are also not available in VR. For those reasons, I begrudgingly 100%ed the game shortly before the PSVR2 launch. Of course, I tested it for about an hour in VR, to see what all the fuzz is about. Holy fuck. Holy FUCK. Once you experienced this in VR you simply can’t see the launch library in the same light as before. This game shows you what the true power of PSVR2 could be about, and all the other games we currently have are just fun gimmicks (with the only exception of HCotM). If you play the game flat and are eligible for trophies, the massive list tasks you with a wide variety of challenges, including a sub three-hour speedrun, a melee-only run, reading all files (a type of collectible), upgrading all weapons, and much more. Initially daunting, most of the list is actually neither too hard, nor too time consuming. The keen trophy hunter just needs some preparation and endurance, especially while trying for S ratings on all maps in the Mercenaries mode. The disappointing separation of VR and flat mode notwithstanding, this game is a truly great experience and if you could buy only one single game for your PSVR2, for now it should be this one. Runner 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱8 In a setting reminiscent of old school anime, you ride a futuristic bike through six distinctive, cyberpunk-esque levels, while collecting power-ups and taking out enemies with your impressive arsenal, including laser pistols, grenades, missiles, and a lightsaber mode for reflecting bullets. Every level takes about ten minutes and ends in an intense boss mech encounter. Figuring out the general mechanics of the game, the weak points of enemies and the strategies to defeat each boss is a tough and often hectic challenge that feels impossible at first. If you stick with it and bite through, you’ll get rewarded with a visually pleasing game that runs buttery smooth and quickly turns “This is unfair, I keep dying!” into “This is unfair, they keep dying so fast”. There are a few different bikes to unlock, all of which handle in unique ways and mix up the gameplay a bit. Ultimately, the scope of the game is quite limited of course, so once you “git gud”, all challenges are conquered with relative ease and there is little incentive to come back. For fans of older arcade games, retro side-scrollers and the like, this game is very enticing. For all others, it’s an ok but not mandatory addition to the VR collection. Seeker: My Shadow 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★☆☆☆☆ ⏱2 Colorful puzzle platformer aimed at kids and, more specific, couch coop play. This is a pretty rough unity game of limited scoped, that I’d call shovelware. The dev(s?) is pretty nice though and an issue I reported on their discord got tackled quickly, so one bonus star for that. If you play VR with small kids, this might be an ok purchase, if not, steer clear. The trophy list is trash-tier, no platinum. Song in the Smoke 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱12 I heard high praise for the PSVR2 version of this game and having completed it on PS4, I didn’t believe the hype at first. After getting the platinum for this version now too though, I have to admit that this is an amazingly good looking, well-rounded game, that is fun from start to finish. It’s a survival game with multiple levels, from lush jungles to snowy plateaus, dinosaurs, a nasty Vendigo keeping you up at night, crafting, upgrading, boss fights and a light story. My initial irritation about the devs sneaking in a brand-new trophy for beating the game on the highest difficulty quickly vanished when I got the hang of the game again and noticed how fun taking it on as a full-focus speedrun is, instead of a slow and steady exploration adventure. The trophy list isn’t that easy and requires some dedication, while also having a small issue that is unfixed since the PS4 version. Startenders 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱5 Just a moment ago chilling in your office, you are suddenly beamed lightyears away to the Startenders Academy as an unvoluntary new employee, having to learn the ropes of intergalactic bartending. The only way to get back, of course, is not to stir any trouble, do the job as expected and secretly build a teleporter in the back of the barship. The gameplay is basically a slightly deeper and more polished take on Job/Vacation Simulators food serving sections. During a shift, multiple alien customers will approach you and place orders from a fanciful palette of drinks, which require a progressively more complex sequence of steps to mix correctly. Cutting, squeezing, heating, freezing and shaking will get more stressful in later shifts of the “campaign”. Your bar has multiple devices that you can upgrade with earnings and a 3D printer. You’ll also spend money to diversify the bars stock of ingredients, as well as buying blueprints for the secret teleporter. The game is humorous and colorful, runs well and has good graphics. The way content gets added in the early shifts keeps players engaged for quite a while. The trophy list is straightforward, although ending in a bit of a grindy clean-up. Fun game for newcomers, kids and as a group showcase. Veterans won’t be engaged for long though, due to the lack of endgame. Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱9 This game has a bit of everything “Star Wars”: Space ships, gunfights, funny looking aliens, lightsabers, droids, stormtroopers, rebels, guest appearances of Master Yoda and Darth Vader and much more. The “Tales” part of the title can be taken literally, as the generic main story is flanked by a variety of unique side missions, presented as stories told by an NPC in the main hub area. Despite being an older Quest port, the PSVR2 version of this game has a lot of polish, with top-notch voice acting, solid world building and high-end graphics. You easily feel immersed in an authentic Star Wars universe. It can’t quite outscale Horizons quality and has some glitches here and there, but is less linear and offers more fun distractions of fooling around with the environment. Nothing in the trophy list is particularly demanding if you do your research. The long list of collectibles suggests a bigger hassle than it turns out to be. As one of the big story titles in the launch window, you can’t go wrong with this game at all. SURV1V3 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱17/31 Zombie survival game with a campaign and coop mode, similar to Left4Dead. The PS4 version released far at the end of the last systems life-cycle, so I missed that one entirely. Until now. Initially, this game tests the players nerves with a wide variety of obscure mechanics. Especially figuring out what to do in survival mode without the help of veteran players is no small task, as this game doesn’t hold your hand at all. Once you get a basic understanding of what to do where and why, solo or with the help of friendly coop partners, the game opens up and shows a lot of potential, especially in group play, and hunting legendary loot and clearing objectives together becomes fuel for many fun hours. The game has a good amount of jank and glitches, but it’s much better than the PS4 version, which has massive trouble handling even one player on the map, and is prone to freezing when in coop matches. Be aware that I’m rating this game slightly higher than the general population, chances are most of you would rather see a 3-star rating. The trophy list is long and too overtuned in the grinding aspect. Unfortunately, efficient leveling requires boring and repetitive solo play. The 31 hours is my platinum time without having a clue in the PS5 version and some coop play, while the 17 hours are the PS4 version with having a clue, solo play and maxing leveling efficiency in survival. Swordsman 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★★★ ⏱2 Port of a PSVR1 title. Arena styled sword fighting against several different historical people, like Vikings or Samurai. There is a skill point system as well as a bunch of weaponry and armor to unlock. There are also countless modifiers to switch up the gameplay, one of which being the armor physics. With those on, the game can be tough and will require good precision to hit uncovered areas on the enemy’s bodies. With physics off, every part of the enemy is fair game and the stabby stabby will have you sweat buckets. This game is loved by its devs, who update and expand it constantly. The current result on PS5 is a fun ragdoll sandbox that looks and runs great. If you max your efficiency with the help of smart modifier settings, you can get the platinum in about two hours. For people who played this on PS4: This game massively profits from the new controllers. The stick movement makes for a much better experience than the clunky old Move controllers. Synapse 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱5 Rogue like shooter with telekinesis mechanics. You are an agent diving into the mind of a high-ranking enemy operative, Inception-style, where you have to slaughter masses of cognitive security personnel to reach deeper parts of the enemy’s mind. On death the run ends, but clearing certain tasks like performing a number of headshots, specific weapon kills etc. rewards you with skill points which you can invest in a huge skill tree, improving your abilities. The game has a unique art style, sharp graphics and exceptional fighting mechanics, but like other titles from the same studio before (see “Fracked”), the title uses a very high level of polish to conceal a lack of depths in most areas. The levels are always the same, you just start and end at different points of the map or get different temporal abilities in between. Enemy types are limited, same as weapon variety (with a very clear imbalance towards the grenade launcher, which at max level renders the game trivial at any difficulty). The game is very easy for a rogue like and with 5-6 hours on the clock you likely finished at least 2 full runs at different difficulties and cleared most of the game’s goals, without much of an endgame left. The trophy list is a bit obscure; to know what to do you have to check in-game, but none of the challenges are particularly daunting, one task currently seems to be buggy though. Synth Riders 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★☆☆☆☆ ⏱2 Currently the systems only basic rhythm game (Pistol Whip is a fighting rhythm game and Thumper is a bug on crack) and a port from the highly regarded PSVR1 version. Cruising along a musical track, you use your hands to hit individual notes or slide a rail, which quickly becomes a meditative experience, putting you in a cozy zone. The general feeling of the game is “Tron”, synthetic, retro. There is an extensive library of musical albums to choose from (many as paid add-ons though), including my personal favorite, Electro Swing. The game is often compared to Beat Saber, and while I enjoy Synth Riders, I’m not perfectly happy with the wrist-breaking way tracks work on higher difficulty and prefer the flow of Beat Saber when it gets hectic. Having the game constantly rub all the additional content packs in your face is something I find irritating, too. I also had worse tracking on PS5 than on PS4, often with the abrupt switching between VR and 2D. The tracking issues in combination with an absolutely underwhelming trophy list (no platinum, only 2 golds) sadly caused an overall mediocre experience for me, but I would still recommend this game to anybody who likes active, accessible and party-proof VR titles. Tentacular 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱11 Cute puzzle game from the viewpoint of a gigantic octopus, helping the citizens of La Calma with various tasks by using huge tentacles. Often those tasks are repairing damage you caused to the town, but you also stacking things, helping with rocket launches or saving cargo ships from sea damage. There is a ton of levels, each with their own unique mechanics. My main gripes with the game were the constant struggle with the tentacles, which while intended left me feeling handicapped the entire game, as well as too much dialogue and very needlessly convoluted menu and level selection. It’s too tough to check which missions you finished already, and finding out which collectibles you already found is impossible and thus an absolute nightmare for trophy hunters. It’s overall an alright game, but some potential was definitely lost here. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱12 Horror rollercoaster with lots of jump scares, sequel to the acclaimed PSVR1 launch title “Rush of Blood”. On a joyride through ten levels, you defend yourself from corpses, ghosts, bats etc. by shooting everything that moves. This simple and accessible formula brought a stupid fun and cherished experience to PSVR1. Understandably, gamers were super hyped for the successor. Anybody with eyes and access to reddit probably noticed that what we got…underdelivered. If you never played Rush of Blood and try this game without any kind of expectation, you can have some fun with it. But for anybody else, this game is a huge let down. Carl Sagan said “There are more stars in our universe than there are grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth” and unfortunately there are still less stars than there is pop-in in this game. On top of that, cheap graphical assets are copy pasted all over the levels, yet long sections remain empty, messing up the pacing, everything presented in laughingly bad resolution. In its current, unacceptable state, this game couldn’t compete with an average PSVR1 game, especially not with its predecessor. Slogging through this mess for at least three times to clear up the trophy list is brutal. Personally, I think there is too much wrong with this game to ever have it morph into something great, even if Supermassive started to release weekly patches. The Last Clockwinder 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱6 During a flying visit of a gigantic, partly mechanical tree you recall memories of spending time there as the apprentice to a “clockwinder”, the operator of the driving mechanism of the tree. You unlock rooms within the tree, activating its engines and recollecting your memories via messages on tape recorders. This is a beautiful little puzzle game with a great all-around package. Music, voice acting, story and graphics are very well done and endearing. The puzzle mechanics are pretty unique, people might remember the PSVR1 title “Transpose” doing something similar: You record yourself doing certain actions, then have a robot repeat those actions in an endless loop. The more complex the puzzle, the more iterations of you have to work together to automate the mechanisms. These puzzles are not trivial and going for all trophies requires maxing the clone set-ups efficiency. This title should not be ignored by any fan of VR puzzlers, trophy hunters are a little less inclined though. The list lacks a platinum, only has one gold and has you work for it. The Light Brigade 🎮★★★★☆ 🏆★☆☆☆☆ ⏱12 I preface this by voicing my deep-rooted annoyance with the unity engine. Many VR games are developed in unity and suck in unity. Controls are often clunky, you can’t grab and release stuff as expected, assets have unpredictable interactions or graphical borders, physics stem from a parallel universe where everything is a mix of jelly and rubber and anything requiring precision turns into a big fumble-fiesta. The Light Brigade is one of the few titles, in my experience, that manages to almost negate all those issues with a very high level of polish. The game is a rogue-lite with elements of both magic and military shooter. There are a lot of different classes to unlock and upgrade, which ensures tons of replayability. During each run, a system of temporary skill cards offers strategic choices and makes each attempt at completing a run a slightly different experience. There were still times I couldn’t help but wish I would play on a different engine. Weapons don’t handle as snappy as in other fps; enemy hitboxes, especially the head, appear a tiny bit unreliable at times; tracking sometimes gets wonky. You are supposed to aim like you would in real life, but the PSVR2 doesn’t appreciate having your hands in that particular position. One issue is also with mandatory teleporting, as you often have to cross gaps and aim for designated spots, which in unity-known fashion often behave unresponsive. All of these points would only be minor gripes in most games. The huge “but” in this case is the very high difficulty of The Light Brigade. Character level, skills and a maxed-out health pool don’t matter. If you peek at the wrong time or get caught out of position, you get shred to pieces. Having that happen because your vision turned 2D at the wrong time or you fumbled with the messy teleporting spot, is tilting. Simply put, the game demands a level of precision that neither the engine nor the PSVR2 are designed for. (People might remember this feeling from PSVR1s “Sniper Elite”) It also has to be stated that this game has two of the dumbest and most outrageous trophies in the launch line up. You are supposed to play an entire run with every single one of your shots being a headshot. This is simply not feasible and I have no idea how anybody involved in this games design would unironically bring such an idea forward in the first place. The first boss in the game even has a mechanic that requires shooting at other things than his head to end an invulnerable phase. No one can achieve these trophies without using an obvious soft exploit (still madness), or a not quite as obvious hard exploit. All in all, this title is an amazing rogue-lite, that is a bit overtuned if played as intended. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱15 Flawlessly executed zombie survival game with a decent story and very fun gameplay loop. This game was a banger on PS4 and it’s still a banger on PS5, just with even better graphics and controls. Not much else to say about this one, this should be a staple in everyone’s library. The trophy list is pretty decent too, with lots of fun tasks and only a few weird trophies that require focused clean-up. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱32 Direct sequel to the afore-mentioned TWD. Unfortunately, where the first one was near perfect, Chapter 2 has a bunch of problems that hint towards a project that had to be rushed rather than polished. Grabbing and physics in general are working only half as good as in Ch. 1; new maps contain areas that are full of objects that can’t be interacted with, which breaks the immersion; Zombie spawns are increased, but often in a rough, immersion breaking and unnecessary way (e. g. spawning behind you in a closed room, while in full vision of the player) and the story is paper thin, especially the side characters. Many missions in Ch. 2 just follow a dumb “bring X from a to b” formular, with the added spice of many one-tap kills, which are plain bad game design for what TWD is and luckily didn’t have a place in Ch. 1. The trophy list was heavily bugged at the start and the game pretty much crashed once per hour, often corrupting the entire save file. This game at launch was the biggest technical failure on PSVR2 and to this day it has issues. It now can be played and the trophy list can be completed, but it’s still a mere shadow of what Saints & Sinners Ch. 1 is. Thumper 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱- Port from the PSVR1. Rhythm game for fans of arcade games and tough challenges. In a minimalistic setting you race a bug at high speeds along a rail and have to turn and jump to avoid obstacles and intermittently kill bosses. The intense music correlates to the obstacles. With PSVR2s clean graphics, the presentation of this game puts you in Zen-mode quickly. Each level you get introduced to more mechanics and more complex sequences. The levels are segmented and the individual parts can be repeated and perfected, to hunt the elusive S ranks. Many people celebrate this gameplay, but it’s not totally my cup of tea. I hoped for autopopping of the trophies, as promised by the devs. It turned out that importing a PS4 save file only autopops half of the list, luckily the hard one for S ranks on all levels. If you dig this kind of gameplay and like a challenge, I can see this game being a great experience. Townsmen VR 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱20 Settlers, but in VR! If I had to select only one winner of a “Hidden Gem Award” of the launch line up, it would without question go to Townsmen. The PSVR1 ventured into this genre quite a bit, with titles like Dino Frontier, Oh My Genesis!, No Heroes Allowed or Tethered, but on PSVR2 we currently only got this game (I believe Cities VR is more of a management sim, like the Tycoon games), and no one seems to talk about it! If you don’t know what Settlers is, I’m referring to an older, but widely acclaimed rts city-building series on PC, that had you coordinate a growing population of settlers to farm resources, build various facilities, establish supply-chains and ultimately outpower and dispel enemy forces. You do the same in Townsmen, all with a top-notch, medieval presentation, cute and crisp graphics and a smart way of introducing more and more layers of complexity each level. The genre fits VR to perfection, with the options to seamlessly zoom in and out, inspect every nook and cranny of the map or instantly jump into whatever scene requires attention at the moment. Taking in every minute detail of the lovely designed islands or zooming out and simply enjoying the “Where’s Waldo?”-ness of the scenery never gets dull. On top of that, the massive trophy list offers a range of very fun challenges, most of which are self-explanatory, but sometimes require a bit of imagination or trial and error. The game isn’t perfect though. In later levels or in a longer session of sandbox mode, when more individual entities have to be accounted for, the gameplay starts to stutter. Replayability is also limited once you beat the campaign. You can load up the maps in sandbox mode and set difficulties for wildlife and enemy pirates, but this is only a poor imitation of what full-fledged rts games on PC usually offer. Regardless, I was so delighted by this game that I’m comfortable with a five-star rating. Fingers crossed for more of these kinds of games in the near future. Transformers: Beyond Reality 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱5 Arcade on-rails shooter from the Transformers universe, port of the PS4 version. You shoot your way through 6 levels, each with an end boss and comic-style story boards in between. Your battlemech can be upgraded and there is an endless arcade mode as an endgame option. This is one of the few games I know of that are drastically worse on PS5 than on PS4, which I’ll explain in a second. This game gets an award for the worst shooting mechanic implementation in VR, but you’d have to experience it for yourself to fully appreciate it: Each and every single shot has to be individually triggered and the game wants you to fire thousands of times each level, with the speed of the trigger being directly translated into dps and thus into your success. The move controllers on PS4 work at least somewhat alright for that, because the angle and resistance of the trigger is much better to handle than the shape and feedback of the sense controllers on PS5. Both versions fuck up your fingers within hours though, so whoever thought this design was a good idea is a huge idiot. To top that, the PS5 can handle more stuff on the screen, so there are a few more enemies in that version, at select spots. The much bigger issue is that in the PS5 version a certain level type in arcade mode messes with the aiming, temporarily making all enemy hitboxes inaccessible. In a game that revolves around killing every enemy on screen before they can shoot you, this is a neck breaker. Pretty much the only way to beat the game on PS5 is to go to the ps controller settings and change the button layout outside of the game to fire on X and then hope for lucky level rng in arcade mode. Skip this if you haven’t seen all transformer movies. Travel the Words 🎮★☆☆☆☆ 🏆★☆☆☆☆ ⏱1 Very simple word puzzle game with a handful of different levels, suited for kids or adults who really like pattern recognition. Underwhelming graphics and nothing justifying this being in VR. The devs were engaged and nice on reddit, so I would’ve liked to give a bonus star, but there simply isn’t anything here. This could be a middle school IT project and would have the same quality. It’s better than Math World though, so there is that. Trophy list is shit-tier. Until You Fall 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱19 Rogue like sword fighting game in a very reddish world, with runs taking anywhere between 12 and 30 minutes, usually. One of the most overhyped PSVR1 titles. The game is very repetitive and way too hard to be enjoyable. That doesn’t keep people who never cleared the higher difficulties to praise it, but I’m not on board. It was a clunky pos on PS4 and is only a bit better with the sense controllers and better power of the PSVR2. The biggest issue I have with this is the audacity of the devs to leave their PS4 game in a broken state, as all the trophies with a counter only work to this day if you do them in one sitting (that’s 11 full runs in a row, have fun). They knew that early on, but still yolo’d out of sight without a patch, just to crawl back years later and release the exact same game, full prize, no upgrade path. “But-but-but there are three more weapons now, big mean two handers!”. Those are shit and nearly unusable in the maximum-bullshit mode that is nightmare difficulty. Just don’t get this game full prize or better yet, skip it entirely. Vacation Simulator 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★★☆ ⏱6 Port from the PSVR1 version. Fleshed out successor to Job Simulator, with more activities and mechanics. Instead of jobs, you recreate favorite human pastimes across the typical vacation spots of beach, mountain and forest. Here, you don’t simply execute one task after another in a single predefined spot, but interact with different NPC robots in the area and work on collecting “memories”. The game aged alright and is still fun and engaging, in between all the fresher PSVR2 titles it’s not an absolute must-have though. It has a lot to offer for trophy hunters, with its list being easy and fun, but demanding more effort than Job Simulator. Walkabout Mini Golf 🎮★★★★★ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱8 Minigolf! THE social experience on PSVR2. The graphics aren’t the best and it lacks certain quality of life features, like multiplayer lobbies (you need 3rd party apps to find a group, as matchmaking is 1v1 only, wtf?), BUT the gameplay and the fun that can be had here are unmatched (Maybe Pokerstars comes close, but Germans are apparently not allowed to play poker, so idk). The base courses offer decent content already, but the volume when buying all level packages is absolutely incredible. And each of the levels is designed with so much love to detail and creativity in layout that this far exceeds the experience one could ever have on real courses. The trophy list could be meatier and is a pretty tough skillcheck (can be cheesed though, sorry elitists), but this is one of the games even a trophy hunter should take time to play for the sheer fun. And it’s a great game for showing off at a get-together. What the Bat? 🎮★★☆☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱2 Goofy puzzle game directed at younger audiences. You have bats for hands and with that handicap navigate various challenges of life, like brushing your teeth, playing fetch with a dog, parking cars, making breakfast or doing chores on a farm. The game places you in thematically grouped levels, each one having you come up with solutions to whatever sticky situation you find yourself in. The game is creative and funny in a silly way, but is overall pretty limited. It’s good, one-dimensional entertainment for an afternoon, after that though you quickly find yourself wishing for actual PSVR2 graphics and other interactions than slashing at things. I’m also not overly ecstatic about a kids game teaching that fun things happen when hitting chicken, sheep and dogs with baseball bats. The trophy list can be done in two hours, but isn’t very rewarding. No platinum and only one gold. Zenith: The Last City 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★☆☆☆ ⏱28 The systems only MMO with all of the genres stereotypical mechanics, like class variety, weapon and gear farming, skills, level progression, open world activities, dungeons and quests, all in the jolly colourful unity engine. The game has a huge world and a long main story. With proximity chat and crossplay it’s pretty easy to connect with people to play with in one of the central areas of the game world. The playerbase is healthy and friendly. So much for the good. I gave the game four stars on PS4, despite many issues I found with it. Now, on PS5, the game sadly didn’t live up to my expectations at all. It got more content, but the problems linger. It feels really cheap and clunky. Spells work with gestures, many of which are constantly triggered on accident. Pop-ins are everywhere, important graphical assets and allies load in at irritatingly short distances, enemies move erratic and are prone to disappearing or teleporting. For some people the game keeps crashing almost on an hourly basis. Overall, this feels like a very rough beta build and not a seasoned, multi-platform release. The underwhelming trophy list offers no highlights either. You’d expect a game of this scope to come with a list of 30-50 trophies, incentivizing you to explore and wander off the beaten path. Instead, this list is a flat “Do the main story while reaching max level”. I can only recommend this game for MMO fans who play with friends, as the group experience is much better than the solo ordeal. Zombieland: Headshot Fever 🎮★★★☆☆ 🏆★★★☆☆ ⏱11 On-rails zombie shooter tied to the Zombieland Movie franchise, with tons of short levels that want you to speedrun them for a leaderboard position or clear them in a specific manner, with specific weapons, etc. This game doesn’t get much love and it’s certainly not GOTY, but once you start, it’s decent fun. Upgrading your arsenal feels good, the gameplay is easy to learn but has solid depth and the graphics are perfectly fine for this type of game. It’s one of those titles that look a bit too complicated or difficult at first glance, but then suck you in and make you go “One more try”. And then it clicks and you feel like John Wick. The trophy list definitely requires some getting gud and some grinding, but it’s very doable and watching the Zombieland movies during breaks for sure keeps morale high.

Possible I suppose, Xbox is run heavily incompetently, but the more likely reason is that they're playing a PR game where they dangled the worse case scenario out for their fanbase and now have presented this softer scenario to stop the anger and make them happy that it 'only' those 4. Well there have been further leaks, and now even the Xbox aligned shills, set up to get information from Microsoft so they can prepare the fanbase, are confirming. It will not simply be smaller titles either. Starfield, their most notable game will be coming. Halo looks to be coming too down the line. Indiana Jones, their currently most hyped game (that Microsoft outright paid to make exclusive) is apparently going to come with possibly some minor timed exclusivity (1-2 months). Then you have the case of Blade, an expected exclusive which oddly never got stated as being one by Microsoft, and this explains why. It is expected that Sarah Bond will make an announcement in the Spring (could happen earlier due to backlash) where these credible leaks will be confirmed. Phil Spencer who has been silent for a long time appears to be sending her out there to take the hits from angry Xbox fans, who hopefully, as easily fooled as they are, will be smart enough to realise she has nothing to do with it and it is all on Phil Spencer. Speaking to those people, if they happen to view this post for whatever reason, it ain't the fault of anybody but Phil Spencer. Big bad Sony isn't the reason that Xbox has fallen apart. Don Mattrick who is constantly blamed for everything is not to blame. Phil Spencer has been in charge for 10 years. It was under him that Series S|X launched with 0! exclusives. It was under him that they created the money pit that is Game Pass. It was under him that the calamitous day and date policy was created, that in court they finally had to admit has cannibalised their game sales. It was under him that they decided to have the wise idea to outright tell people they didn't need to buy an Xbox or heck any games at all, just get Game Pass. It was under him that numerous total incompetents in Xbox management were not only kept on year after year, but got promoted. It was under him that Xbox owned studios were largely behind schedule, over budget, and of shoddy quality. It was under him that the Series S was produced which has only caused problems for them. It was under him that the Series X was created to only be comparable to the PS5 and yet costs far more to produce. Oh, but what of the money men such as Tim Stuart and Satya Nadella? They don't understand gaming and are behind all of this so aren't they to blame? No. Put this into perspective. They gave Spencer a decade and massive amounts of capital, not just in the buyouts, but in allowing Xbox to be the money pit that it is been all this time (they hide the numbers for a reason, and the numbers are likely far worse than even the worse predictions). They burned up Microsoft's accumulated good boy points with regulators all for Xbox. They're only now taking charge after being made to look like money mark fools for going along with Phil Spencer's nonsense. Below are my personal views on certain subjects that relate to this massive news story. Skip them if you want, but I do think they paint an accurate assessment of the situation. Why is this happening? Because those who have been talking of Xbox being a failure have been right. All the defences that game sales don't matter, that console sales don't matter, that game pass is somehow sustainable and successful, that all the hidden business numbers for Xbox don't mean a thing, they have all been lies. Anyone who pays attention, blocks out the astroturfing/shilling, and can put two and two together, quickly realises that Xbox's business is a horror show that only continues to exist thanks to Microsoft being willing to fund it regardless of any losses. After spending around 100 billion on acquisitions to zero positive effect in their head to head fight against PlayStation, Microsoft management is finally taking charge. Also, remember the talk that ABK was going to lead to Microsoft being a powerhouse on mobile and able to compete with Apple? Even that has failed because Apple has gotten around the EU's efforts to open up their store and crippled any attempt Microsoft might make on mobile to leech off Apple. ABK, which Team Green championed as what would allow Xbox to compete, is ironically what has done Xbox in. Phil Spencer and his team at Xbox are warriors who very much want to take it to Sony and make ABK, like Bethesda before them, exclusive. Such a move predictably sees their bought up studios have the money they make plummet as not only do their games no longer sell on other console platforms, but by being day 1 on Game Pass their sales fall apart even further. Some such games have managed to use Steam to cover some of the damage, but most are not able to. The problem with ABK is their sheer scale. After spending 75 billion (6 billion was added on top in fees) on ABK, Microsoft management do not want to risk seeing that value they bought up get ruined by Xbox. What those who wonder 'Why don't they at least try to have ABK exclusive first' don't realise is that Microsoft has a string of evidence that tells them that an exclusive ABK won't turn things around. Starfield being the latest such case, with the game doing nothing for Xbox's fortunes, after Microsoft management had been told that it releasing on PS5 would have meant +10 million sales. What does this mean for Xbox? Numerous Xbox influencers who put out a lot of toxicity are incredibly shocked and angry at the news, with many outright stating that they'll be doing away with their Xbox branding. According to one of the leakers such a thing is expected by Microsoft. How it was said was something along the lines of them knowing they'll lose 1% of their fanbase, the real hardcores, but it'll be irrelevant for everyone else. Those who buy Xbox consoles today will simply continue to buy them, meaning Microsoft can simply make more money with PlayStation/Nintendo with no real loss on their own platform. Now, to many who read this such a thing seems crazy. Surely Microsoft doesn't actually believe this? Something people should have, and need to realise, is that these companies can be complete out of touch fools. Microsoft with Xbox alone has blundered constantly in their decisions. If you have an Xbox as a secondary console then you may well wish to look into selling it. If the Xbox consoles are killed off, be it directly or indirectly, then the selling value of the Xbox, which apparently is not great to begin with, will only plummet further. If Xbox is your main console or only have it, are big into achievements, and reading this? Damn, starting again like that is rough. Just remember that it ain't about the leaderboard. Trophy hunting is more about getting 100% on the stuff you play, getting the most out of the game, instead of necessarily making your numbers go high. There has been some talk that Microsoft may try to do a Xbox PC or Handheld. Essentially scamming other companies into taking on all the costs for such devices and then paying Microsoft to slap the (horrid) Xbox branding on it. As it would essentially be free money for Microsoft they may well do it yes, but failure is essentially certain so it'll be a short term thing. What does this mean for PlayStation? Now some will wish to frame this as a negative for those who game on PlayStation. That competition is being lost and that automatically is a bad thing. No. Just because something is usually true does not mean that it always is. Microsoft is known to be poison in any industry they enter. Numerous negative things that are normal today and we simply have to accept as facts of life are a result of Microsoft. Paid online, platforms paying for timed exclusives, so forth were brought about by Microsoft. The only real positive we can give them is that they caused PlayStation to realise sooner that they needed a strong first party like Nintendo, but even that has an asterisk as Nintendo would have likely caused PlayStation to realise that anyway. Xbox being around has not stopped Sony raising prices, which as negative as that sounds, everybody has had to due to inflation if nothing else. If Xbox hardware is discontinued it will not prompt PlayStation to price the PS6 at 2000, no. PlayStation actually wants to sell consoles and Nintendo/PC/Mobile/others are all varying levels of competition. Then you have the talk of no Xbox leading to less innovation, but which could well lead to the reverse to occur. There is much talk of an ARM based console in the future for example, something that could well lead to backwards compatibility only being possible via streaming, and which is much less riskier if Xbox is out of the picture. In terms of 1st party games, they make PlayStation plenty of money as we know so why cut them? Not to mention, again, they still have competition from others on the game front, most notably Nintendo. What of Microsoft's games? There has been a narrative out there among Team Green that there is something called a 'Xbox Tax' in effect. Essentially that their games are actually all great (except massive bombs they can't deny), but there is some pro-Sony global conspiracy out there that rates down their games -10 or whatever just for being on Xbox. This of course is not only nonsense, but it actually goes the other way, an 'Xbox Subsidy' if you will. The gaming media has been pro-Xbox for many years, only relenting some post the PR nightmare that the ABK acquisition has been. Many reviewers straight up have felt sorry for Xbox and not been as harsh as they would have been on anyone else. Then you have the obvious paid shills. Xbox, with far less gamers, enjoys far more Xbox focused review sites out there than Sony or Nintendo does, likely even if you combine the two. On top of that Sony and Nintendo sites do not appear to operate as shill sites due to their reviews often being in lockstep with the overall average, with some actually being harsher on their sites main platforms than they are on Xbox. The point here is that these games getting ported to PlayStation will not suddenly make them good games. What will likely make them review better on PlayStation and come off nicer to players will be the fact that they'll launch with X years worth of patches attached and possibly even DLC packed in. In terms of when these games will release. It is believed that the new games will have timed exclusivity at the moment, but it has been said it could even be as short as a month. The problem there is that such a thing is unlikely to hold. If the games aren't successful with such a delay then the money men will tell them to release them day and date. If the games are successful then the money men will tell them that they'll be even more successful releasing them day and date. In terms of when the older games will come, they should come over time and not all at once. Xbox is incompetent enough that if the ports were all ready to go on the same day they might well release them all at once, but the ports won't be, so they'll have little choice but to space them out. Those who deserve thanks Gamers: Microsoft meeting a defeat here should spell the end of their push to destroy the traditional gaming market with subscriptions, because the current Game Pass is failing as it is and without an Xbox should collapse entirely (it may continue as a EA Play/Ubisoft+ type service). Both PlayStation and Nintendo will maintain their subscriptions yes, but said subscriptions are largely catalogue services that aren't there to destroy the traditional gaming market like Game Pass was set up to do. Cloud has also taken a big blow with even Microsoft cutting their investment in it for gaming massively, hence why we've been hearing those stories of Xbox gamers having absolutely massive wait times to use Cloud gaming. Other industries have been really harmed by these things, but gaming has stood strong. For all the negativity thrown at gamers that exists out there, this is one of those times where gamers should be celebrated. Now you could say that Xbox gamers shouldn't be included in this, and you'd have a point. However, on the other hand you could say that it was Xbox gamers being so unwilling to hold Xbox to account for a decade that helped in causing Xbox to be the sheer failure that it has been. So they sort of played their own part, thanks guys. Those who fought back against Microsoft's astroturfing and shills: While Microsoft's machine these days is meeting defeat after defeat, it wasn't this easy when it was in full flow and many were actually being fooled by Phil Spencer's snake oil of good guy Microsoft. Credit to all those who stood against the Microsoft backed toxicity put out there onto the internet. PlayStation & Nintendo First Parties: Them being as good as they are played a big part in keeping the traditional gaming market strong in the face of Microsoft's attacks. PlayStation especially due to being more direct competition with Xbox. Jim Ryan: Microsoft targeted him with their astroturfing and media shills. Many PlayStation gamers, some with their own reasons, others taken in by the astroturfing, attacked him. Microsoft tried to bait him into doing numerous policies that Xbox was doing that would have been disastrous for PlayStation, which he ignored. With all that noise and negativity out there, Jim Ryan remained focused and led PlayStation into becoming stronger than ever. Now, due to his leadership in these scary times of Microsoft attempting to buy PlayStation out of business, they have seen them off. Causing Microsoft 'the Extinguisher' to surrender is a legendary feat, especially when your company is so much smaller.

  26. I'm not one to complain, but...can anything be done about the Cloudflare security checks? It's extremely annoying as it is, but the fact it keeps coming and going makes it worse. It's happened several times in the last few weeks and again today. Yes, they don't last long for the most part, but it's extremely irritating. Is this just something that we're gonna have to deal with from now on? If it is, I'll deal, but hoping it isn't.

Microsoft was to blame for the error. Also keep in mind that this post has been added to and expanded several times. Acquisitions The sheer arrogance/delusion of Spencer to say that it is taking Nintendo a long time to realise their future is on Xbox is otherworldly. We don't get to see what he is responding to, but the implication to me seems to be that Microsoft doesn't see the regulators as a problem when it comes to buying out not just Nintendo, but Valve too. Two major platforms. Granted, this was before all the shocks they've taken lately with ABK (which they seem to have turned around, but we'll see), but they seem to have believed that their political corruption was so strong they could do whatever they want. The only wrinkle in all of this being that unfortunately for Microsoft neither Nintendo or Valve want to sell, but the moment they do then the buyout is already approved by Microsoft's management. Warner Bros. Games is also mentioned which was a rumour, which possibly might still happen, but considering Microsoft's value of IP over cogs developers (unlike Sony/Nintendo) that seems unlikely due to them not being able to also get the IPs. Also, just in case anyone tries it. No, 'obviously companies talk about buying others, so why the big deal', is not a valid response. Other companies in gaming aren't fantasying about buying out several platforms casually like that. They're generally focused on you know, putting out good games, an alien thought for Xbox I know. Just look at Spencer's talk there about buying Nintendo 'being a career moment'. Not putting out the highest rated game. Not putting out a massive seller. Not putting out an incredibly creative game. Not putting out a game that takes hold in the mainstream in a big way. Not having a happy workforce that loves their company. Nah, buying the biggest possible company is what a career moment is down at Xbox. Note also 'we are playing the long game'. That is what all this 'good guy Microsoft' astroturfing that they do in gaming and elsewhere is all about. Moment they feel secure they'll reveal their true colours. Something sinister also is this talk of Spencer's buddy buying that Nintendo stock. Seems that person is a Microsoft agent who is there to 'create opportunities' for Microsoft. Thankfully Nintendo now knows to ignore and any all talk from that guy. He would no doubt assist in hostile takeover attempts too, though Spencer puts cold water on that at least for now. Even for Microsoft that would be very foolish as it'd be unavoidable horrible PR and Japan will undoubtedly step in and stop any such attempt, no matter how many US congressmen Microsoft has in their pocket. Xbox's deadline with Game Pass Wow. If they're at 25 million then in essentially 3 years, as we're largely through the year already, they'll need to gain 25 million subscribers every year. Even if the full timeline is given of 2030, that is still a massive ask. You can see why they want Call of Duty. Why they want Nintendo. Why they want Valve. Those sort of massive additions are the only real hope they appear to have to reach these massive numbers. Though one thing that will certainly help, if it is counted and I'm sure it will be, is the changing of Gold into Core. That will spike the numbers as those suddenly become 'Game Pass'. The problem of course is that those numbers weren't growing either. Buying Sega You know, for years now Microsoft's agents have been talking about Microsoft buying Sega and how well they 'go together'. Clearly purposely to prime gamers for a buyout, so when it occurs there isn't outrage and instead people see it as a 'natural' thing to have occurred. Since these emails both Microsoft and Sega have done things that lend well to Microsoft buying them out so possibly we're going to hear news of this at some point next year... I certainly hope not, but it doesn't look great. Victim List Target Lis I believe this may have been leaked previously, or at least a redacted version, but worth seeing again. An interesting detail with this list is that Nintendo is not listed, but Valve is. This deal would imply that management sees Nintendo as being unwilling to ever sell (though if that changes then the buyout is already approved), but see Valve differently. Gabe Newell worked at Microsoft for 10 years and has always been friendly to Microsoft and often negative against the other console platforms. Before/as they launched he publicly backed Microsoft's Series S|X as being superior to PlayStation 5. Newell is considered to be someone who puts principle over money... but he is still a western business owner where that is much rarer, and so is hard to trust he can hold his ground if Microsoft actually makes of an offer of 35+ billion. At the same time Microsoft might not be putting an offer as they are unsure how Newell might react, possibly negatively to the point that he makes the matter public and admonishes them, which considering how many devoted fans Steam has would be catastrophic for Microsoft. As such Microsoft likely sees it as something to wait on, for Newell to die, so they can then make whoever is left in charge at Valve a massive offer. Something to also note is how Microsoft, of all companies, refers to Valve as stale, but still wants them which obviously shows they're simply after the platform and capturing the PC market. Microsoft made Yakuza 7 Next Gen Timed Exclusive Good to have confirmation. For those unaware Yakuza 7 released exclusively next gen on Xbox, but didn't on PlayStation. This was a very odd move as the base for the game is largely on PlayStation and PlayStation, unlike the Serie S|X is not known to have issues when it comes to putting out games. Especially in a case like this when the makers have been putting out PlayStation exclusives for ages. Microsoft's agents went to work. 'Why would Microsoft pay to have such a short term exclusive?' was the main thrust, but there were others. Keep in mind that for the last number of years Microsoft has been attempting to astroturf a narrative that Microsoft doesn't pay for exclusives, only evil big bad Sony does. Admitting that you pettily did such a short term exclusive on next gen would heavily damage their gaslighting attempt, so we got astroturfed on the matter. For those unaware and wondering why the word 'astroturfing', 'agents', and so forth come up so often. Microsoft is a company known to astroturf heavily. You'll see it on social media with accounts who'll at times post stuff that may as well be advertisements, but you can see it on forums too. There is a certain infamous forum which is infested with Microsoft astroturfers and they appear to have even wormed a few into the moderation. Microsoft's policy is to have 'evangelists' for their products, ideally people doing it of their own free will, but if that isn't happening then they'll just manufacture them. Microsoft more than even their haters know that their products are putrid and can't stand on their own, so they have to play dirty. Side note. Spencer stating that he loves talk of Xbox launching as a Sega console in Japan is hilariously pathetic. Imagine being happy about the idea of your brand being so terrible that you have to dress up in the corpse of a previous console maker to look better. Capcom Capcom have responded to talk of Microsoft buying them out: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2023-09-25/capcom-targets-smartphone-gamers Capcom while on the market is considered to be owned by the Tsujimoto family who are involved in the running of Capcom, and do not want to sell the company. Many in the west have remarked that 'money talks' and a large enough offer would change that, but that is western culture speaking. It might be hard to grasp but there are people, especially in a place like Japan (happens in the west too) who view principle/legacy/honour as more important than money. Others have stated that even if the family can't be bought off, then Microsoft can just hostile takeover which... no. To begin with that would completely destroy Microsoft's PR efforts and would likely cause an active campaign to completely remove Microsoft from gaming. Secondly, especially with this being Japan, you would see an exodus of talent at Capcom who'd refuse to work for Microsoft. The valuable IPs that Capcom has would also become instantly worthless due to fan backlash. None of this is even mentioning the government, who'll know that letting Microsoft get a company like Capcom is essentially giving Microsoft permission to buy every single other notable game maker bar Sony/Nintendo out afterwards. Best IP Holder and Killing Stadia Wow. He actually appears to be at the point that he actually believes his own lies. We've heard this talk of Google/Amazon being the 'real competition' before, but this is some aggressive talk. Bragging about destroying Stadia with the ZeniMax buyout also, something which they had their astroturfing agents all covering up. For those unaware Google got involved in the ABK case and made this claim. Microsoft's agents were all out there saying that Google was just incompetent, that Microsoft had nothing to do with it, so forth. Here we have the head of Xbox straight up boasting about their buyout killing a competing platform. Day 1 cost estimation Keep in mind that the above is estimations from Microsoft. These deals weren't ultimately done day 1, with them coming later (cheaper). Baldur's Gate is interesting because if they hadn't had the whole Series S issue they may well have been able to get the game Day 1 on gamepass for 5 million. Now? The price has gone up significantly. Speaking of prices going up, this information being out there is a disaster for Microsoft. Ubisoft for example can now see that what they likely believed to be a good amount, pales in comparison to what EA gets. Gamepass is already very likely a money pit, and it'll only become a bigger one as everyone will now start asking for more money. Gamepass Growth Keep in mind that this is a year old, but it still states that Xbox had 8-9 months of zero growth when it comes to Gamepass, which includes PC which they're supposed to have 'massive growth in'. Recently a LinkedIn (Microsoft bought out company) page from a Microsoft employee become a story as they claimed 30 million people on Gamepass, and then was edited down to 25 million. Possibly the truth? Sure. Possibly this worker putting down a wrong figure and then changing it when Microsoft told them to change it? Sure. Microsoft running an astroturfing op to give their agents something to use? Certainly also possible as Microsoft is the leader when it comes to astroturfing. This really hampers that though which is nice, means less annoying dialogue from Xbox fans real or otherwise. XCloud funding reduced to 0 From what has been heard from users of XCloud, this shouldn't be a shock. What is all very strange, is that like with the infamously terrible PC store, they need these things to be good... and yet they invest so little into them. Xbox Series X Revision (S|X will be discontinued) The Xtube is a revision, a 'Slim' if you will, and not a 'Pro'. Considering the timeframes and the rumours, Microsoft's plan is to launch a slim at the same price as the PS5 Pro. Another genius idea from the brain trust at Xbox no doubt. Obviously the name is not Xtube and that is me just having fun. Fitting though you have to say, and likely will end up being a better name than whatever they go with anyway. Xbox Series S|X are going to be discontinued (S should still be supported in regards to games), but with the Xtube being digital only it'll mean that Microsoft will be phasing out discs entirely. Remember that stuff about them being for preserving games and all that? As expected it was just a PR thing and it is thrown away the moment it has been used for that purpose. Keep in mind, companies throwing away such PR things is nothing new. They just usually do it once they're back on top. Xbox with their innovations is doing it when their business is doing even worse. Xbox Controller. Will have haptics, but not on the triggers. Has a piece of hardware in it which might possibly mean the Xbox controller will finally have Gyro... but it might also be a basic piece just to support stuff like 'lift to awake'. Would be baffling how they have the chance to put out a controller that at least equals the DuelSense in features and they just don't... but this is Microsoft. Next Gen Cloud Hybrid Console The Arm architecture for those unaware is different to the ones the current consoles (and most PCs) use. It is considered more powerful and also importantly, more power efficient which is important when you have bodies like the EU putting into law that devices can only use so much energy. The swap has been talked about as inevitable so their next console being it would be no surprise (next PlayStation will likely be it too), but it does mean that the next generation could have quite the chaos to it. Possibly PS5 games won't be playable on PS6, that sort of thing, or they might play but could have technical issues. PC gaming will be affected too. As for the Cloud part of the hybrid. Essentially, 'The Power of the Cloud' will be making a return. They promised it with the Xbox One... but they were lying... but they'll be doing it this time for real, honest. The way I understand it you'll have your console and some games will connect to their Cloud and increase the performance of the game/do certain features. Of course, considering that this could be an effort to do 'always online', it could also be that you wouldn't be able to play games of that generation without being connected to their cloud. Something to keep in mind in all this though is that the whole S|X thing (they class One and One X as being the same by the way)? Microsoft will be continuing it, so there will be two versions of this console. For those unaware, one of Microsoft's PR pieces is that they are 'open to unions', as QA people have been getting into unions. All along they've been putting together something which if successful allows them to just fire all those people as their job will no longer be needed. How sneaky. Sad as it is, they'll be getting what they deserve. Many have told them how foolish it is to trust Microsoft of all companies. --- Closing I've posted a lot of stuff above to provide more information as there is a lot of thing that have come out. My thoughts are provided, but if you feel differently then cool. The images are provided to allow you to make up your own mind. The main story to me is the whole buying Nintendo/Valve thing which is a step even further than ABK, who are small potatoes by comparison. I see a company who historically and currently cannot do good work and rather than improve they intend to just throw their money from their monopolies around. If this money was thrown around to create new studios and build a massive empire that way? Then I'd still not like it, but I wouldn't feel so strongly about it as at the very least they would be adding to gaming in some way. Just tastelessly buying out anyone and everyone? That should be rejected in the strongest way. There is no gain for gamers here, in fact we'll be losing as more and more companies get put in the reverse Midas grasp of Xbox. Reminder. Microsoft has monopolies so it can be difficult with some things, but it would be good to try and cut them out whenever possible. Xbox's constant costly failures as long as they have a boss like Nadella at the top are irrelevant. Microsoft is committed if they have to spend 100 billion, 200, 300, so forth. The plan appears to be to buyout all other platforms and major publishers and then finally they will be able to 'compete' with PlayStation. Gaming in no way is worth spending this huge amount of money, but Microsoft either sees massive gains in the future... and/or have such a grudge against Sony for the constant humiliations that they will do whatever it takes to bring them down in gaming. As such the only ways for Xbox's aggressions to be halted is for either for Microsoft to get new management that deems the massive amounts being spent as wasteful, or even better Microsoft starts taking hits in their other businesses to the point that they have to retreat from spending massive sums in gaming and instead spends it elsewhere. I will also say now, as we sometimes get some tone policers who'll throw out 'console wars' or whatever. No. Microsoft is a blight not only on gaming, but technology as a whole. Focus more on what they're doing than what I or whoever else is calling them out.

  35. The leaderboards were originally built during a time when shovelware didn't exist, and when it required effort to get a platinum trophy. People's profiles at the top were impressive to look at and it was really fascinating to see what they were playing. Now everyone at the top plays garbage, and there's definitely no fun in sifting through trash every day, nor is it fun to look at any of their profiles because they just play trash. It makes the main leaderboard rank not even really matter anymore, and it's a pointless statistic now. The leaderboards were originally built for a different time and have failed to adapt. That's why it would be nice to see a rarity leaderboard just be made the main leaderboard, or a leaderboard that excluded all shovelware towards your rank. The current leaderboard could still be viewable, but really shouldn't be the main one in my opinion Anyway, as already said the reason you should take time out of your day to sit down to play video games is to have fun, otherwise you are just wasting valuable time in your life you could have spent doing something better. In the words of a great man: "If it's not fun, why bother?"

Hi all, I know there are quite a few threads on this already, this one is different however as we have a FULL TEXT WALKTHROUGH here as well as the Video Guide so you can go along with what you prefer without being bound to a certain format. This route also saves you time as the other guides have you doing stuff that is NOT required for trophies despite them saying it is all required. I've acquired platinum a fair few times testing exactly what is and what is not required to bring you a fully optimal guide to waste as little as your time as possible. So if you're wondering why some guides may say open up all the Workstations and read all messages etc and my guide mentions nothing about them, then it's because they are NOT required!! The minimum requirements for the platinum is only what is mentioned here! Also, this game can be platinumed in about 25 minutes, but this route does it in 33 minutes because it leaves EVERY trophy trigger until last so you can go for a 5 minute 100% leaderboard time if you so wish!! With this route, it's perhaps a 1/10 difficulty and as mentioned, about 30 minutes!! Hope it helps – MAIN MENU – Options - Gameplay - Tutorials - Off. Options - Controls - Look Sensitivity - Max. Start New Game. – DOCKING (start) – Go forward and open the door with R2. Then open the airlock door. Take the ARdware from the stand ahead. Interact with the humanoid hologram to give it 'five'. Sign in on the door behind the hologram to ride the tram to the station hub. – STATION HUB – Enter Personnel via the personnel access hatch. – PERSONNEL – Go down the ramp and interact with the AI Data Access twice to attach your Data Transfer Device. Now go right into Administration. – Administration – Enter the Conference Room ahead. – Conference Room – Press SQUARE to recover the AR Data once the prompt appears. Pause and fast forward the timeline until the purple AR Data is revealed. E.V. St. James - Station Administrator (purple) - Restore all 4 tabs. DO NOT look at the Housecat in this room as we want to leave this one till last. Open the Administrator's Office with 1228. Go back into the main room and go down into the Lounge. – Lounge – Pick up the letter 'M' at the bottom of the ramp on the left, then take it back up into the main room near the table. – Administration – Place the M on the wall where the writing is. It needs to be placed beside the A on the far right of the 2nd line. Then reposition the upside E at the top right. Pick the O from the floor beneath the writing and place it next to the M which should now spell Tacoma. Now go into the nearby Lavatory and take the letter O from the floor and place it into the top word to spell Obsolescence. We will leave the final letter E on the floor below until later. Now enter the Personal Quarters to the right. – Personal Quarters – Once you enter the room, recover the AR Data with SQUARE. Now head back into Administration and then into the Kitchen. – Kitchen – Fast forward the timeline until the yellow AR Data is revealed. Clive Siddiqi - Operations Specialist - Reveal the 3 tabs. Now go back to the table in Administration. – Administration – Fast forward the timeline until the red AR Data is revealed. Natali Kuroshenko - Network Specialist - Restore the 3 tabs. Now fast forward the timeline again until the blue AR Data is revealed. Sareh Hasmadi - Medic - Restore the 3 tabs. Fast forward the timeline to the end. Fast forward the timeline to the end. – Maintenance – Head through the sliding door and down the first ramp while fast forwarding the timeline along the way. Once down the first ramp, follow the bend around and then look up to see the exit through the ceiling grates. Looking at the exit, approximately halfway 1/3 along the square piping on the left just beneath the ceiling grate is a small ring. Natali Kuroshenko - Network Specialist - Restore all 4 tabs. Then exit the room. – Network Technology – Go left and recover the AR Data in front of you. 5/7 Housecat - From where the AR Data prompt first appeared, turn around and look up towards the long window and you should see this cat sitting in the corner of the window. Fast forward the timeline to the end. Now keep following the path to enter the Communications Center. – Communications Center – Recover the AR Data you eventually reach. Go into the next room activate the ODIN Wetware panel. Go back into the previous room and fast forward the timeline to the end. Then input 0451 on the central keypad. Now go back into the main room. – Network Technology – Go down the ramp and then through the exit. – Engineering – Interact with the AI Data Access and detach the Data Transfer Device now that it's complete. Now ride the lift back up to the station hub. – STATION HUB – Recover the AR Data as soon as you exit the lift. Fast forward to reveal the red AR Data, then go right to find it. Clive Siddiqi - Operations Specialist - Restore the 3 tabs. 6/7 Housecat - Will be in the arms of the nearby purple hologram. Now fast forward to reveal the blue AR Data. Sareh Hasmadi - Medic - Restore the 3 tabs. Now go into Personnel Quarters. – PERSONNEL QUARTERS – Go left into Operations and then into the Fitness Center. – Fitness Center – Punch the punchbag in the corner to get the trophy below. TROPHY - Punch-Out!! - Go a full round with the punching bag in the Gym. Now go into Administration. – Administration – Go into the Conference Room. – Conference Room – 7/7 Housecat - In the corner of the room, just hover the reticule over it. TROPHY - Catsitter - Found the AR cat in every recovered Crew Record on the Station. Now head back to the central corridor and go into Administration. – Administration – Go to the wall title, take the E from the floor and place it in the missing slot to spell 'Crew' for the trophy below. TROPHY - Spellcheck - Restore the Obsolescence Day Sign. Now go back up to the Station Hub. – STATION HUB – Now go down into Biomedical. – BIOMEDICAL – Go right into Medical. – Medical – Go into Exam Facilities on the right. – Exam Facilities – Go to the skeleton, take the Skull from the skeleton and then place it back. Pick up the cap you left earlier, then go to the skeleton and place the cap on the skull for the trophy below. TROPHY - Skeletina - Gave Tina back her hat (and her head…). Now grab the Skull and return to the Station Hub, careful you don't release the Skull by mistake. – STATION HUB – Go into the basketball module and toggle the 3-point line so the boundary appears. Now dunk the Skull into the blue net for the trophy below. TROPHY - Casketball - Worked together with Tina to make a particularly spooky basket. Then grab and throw the basketball into the blue net from outside the 3-point boundary for the trophy below. TROPHY - From Downtown - Made a 3-point shot in micro-G basketball. Looking towards Docking, go into the Cryogenics module on the right. – CRYOGENICS – Interact with the Cleaner Drone near the cryopods to activate it. Then grab this Sanitation Drone and head back into the Station Hub. – STATION HUB – Throw this Sanitation Drone into the other drone which is flying around the hub to unlock the trophy below. TROPHY - Therefore Art Thou - Activate Juliet and reunite her with Romeo in zero-G. Now go back into Docking and along the tram. – DOCKING – Go towards where you started and open the airlock door. Then install the AI Wetware into the slot on the wooden panel in front. Enter your inventory and open the 9 Venturis messages while slotting the AI Wetware, make the the final message has completed. Now go around to the cockpit and begin the launch sequence. TROPHY - Ardcore - Escaped Lunar Transfer Station Tacoma having recovered every AR Crew Record and AR Desktop item.   43. I've been tempering with these thoughts for a year and a half now. It doesn't feel right anymore. Let me explain. I really enjoy getting the platinum trophy of a good, favorite or just fun game. It adds value, makes the game bigger and adds more challenge. To be honest the challenge is not there anymore due to accessibility options that lets you get the platinum quick and easy. Yes i'm the kind of person that will play on easy, if the trophy list doesn't have any difficulty trophies. Back in 2014 i started caring about the leaderboard, here on PSNP, when i created the account. I was already on a good country position (22th) and i tried to earn more and more trophies to climb. Back then the easiest trophies where from Telltale's Games and most of the time you would get mocked if you played them. This is so funny for me now, because these games are actually very good. Then, i remember, around 2017 it was the begging of some short, easy but still fun platinums, which gave you a boost. Until then, everything was okay. Then, in 2018, started the cross region thing, or at least, i found out about it. I still remember trying to get all the Vita stacks in one session so it would synchronize correctly. Even then, when the games where pretty much garbage, i can see now that they had some value. At least they had some kind of gameplay and you actually had to pay attention. It was then, that i managed to climb 7th in my country and around 1000th in the world. It felt good, because, even if it was most from easy platinums, the stress of getting banned, due to the tedious Vita stacking trick, was there. I remember when they stopped producing Vita stacks i was relived. I didn't know what waited in the corner. And this brings us to 2020, when i realized that the ratio between gold, silver and bronze trophies mattered. I remember posting my 500th platinum in Valhalla and getting roasted because i had more gold than silver. I honestly didn't really care about the opinion of others, but i cared about my trophy count. I hadn't realized that i had destroy my trophy list. The next year i tried reversing these numbers, i stopped playing games with only gold trophies and i searched for games with many silver, like Lego games for example. It was at this time period that one button games started to appear. I didn't care much then, as i though that there would be few of them. As i managed to reverse my gold and silver numbers i was very careful to play the right games at the right time so i could get good games for milestones, while retaining a good ration. And this is the point where this became very bad. I would just pay lots of money (for me anyway), that i could spend on other good games or collectibles, to get many easy one button games, so i can reach the milestone fast and put the good game, that i played on that period, in that milestone position. For a time i was okay with it, but when i updated my gaming setup with a PS5 and an OLED tv, i really started questioning my day to day gaming experience. I was literarily stopping playing a game i really enjoyed to spend 2 to 3 days playing garbage so i could put it on a milestone position. I really felt that with The Last of Us PART I Remake, which i wanted to make my 1000th platinum trophy. Then i said that i would stop the hardcore trophy hunting and that i would just enjoy the games i like. After obtaining my 1000th platinum i stopped for about half a year and OMG it was heaven! Months had past and i decided to give it a go once again, due to some ps store sales. Then i truly understood the condition of the trophy hunting community. There where so many one button turds with so many stacks that i couldn't even comprehend the money that was needed to keep been "competitive" and i'm using this word laughing. Then i noticed that in the leaderboard i had lost 5 positions to some 2 or 3 year old accounts, even a 8month old one. So i decided that it doesn't matter anymore. Something that was a feeling of accomplishment, feels like a chore now that just asks for more and more money. And some people doesn't even hesitate. And with that story comes my point. The creation of needs. Trophy hunting begun as a way of enjoy the games at their fullest. Then came the need of more platinums, so some developers created easier trophy lists to make them more friendly. Then the ratio kicked in and everyone wanted to have good silver and gold ratios, thus developers created one button games with only silver, bronze etc. It's all about created needs that don't matter. I refuse to maintain the need of being in the top 10 of my country when i have to play junk just to be there, i refuse to keep playing junk and then calculate how much money i have to spend to fix my ratio. I decided, once again to stop, after i maximize the official trophy level at 999. I don't know if i will maintain this stance, but, for now, i need to focus on just enjoying my gaming sessions and not caring about being top at a leaderboard full of people that are willing to spend lots of money just to on the top. Maybe now and then, when there is a sale, i don't know. It was about skill and will. Now its about money and created needs. Thanks to anyone that stayed until now, i really appreciate it.   45. I had this phase since lockdown where I didn't really want to play a game I can't platinum. I finally made the decision to stop that as it's just gonna ruin my experience. This is mainly because of games like DMC5 or Wolfenstein 2 and also some ps3 games. I don't want their difficulties to prevent me from playing interesting series as a whole. Has anyone else felt like this before?

  46. I find it curious that when the glitch is an exploit, the devs run like crazy to fix it, but when it's something that prevents the player from getting a trophy, they take their time before deciding if it's worth or not.

  47. Hello, I was doing the platinum on both PS4/PS5 and I thought hey, why not write a guide to get it done easily, so here we go. I apologise if there is some typos or "weird" phrasing, english is not my first language. General Tips - Feel free to kill the enemies you encounter with your magic sword (square) for the 250 kills and 30 kills with a swing, same with fire for the 50 kills. - Same for the vital you can loot them to reduce the farm later. - Use rewind as you can and god mode. - You don't need to take the rewards in the Hall of Heroes if you use complete the level inside the Hall, the trophy will still unlock later. The Start - Start a new game, press pause (right touchpad) then enter the cheats (be sure to be in NTSC mode) Hold and press , , , , , , , , , - cheats menu is unlocked then enter: Hold and press , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , - debug menu is unlocked then enter the first code again to unlock the super cheat. - Select quit from the menu then start a new game to start the first level. Dan's Crypt - Open the menu, select super cheat to unlock Master Dan-At-Arms. - Set stored energy to 2400 then equip the hammer and break the colored wall in front of you to unlock Walls are for Chumps. - Take the life bottle behind the wall to unlock Healthiest Man Alive - Er Dead. - Open the menu, select the Chalice on Yes then press Complete the level, I won't mention it everytime for each level obviously. Hall of Heroes - Just use Complete level everytime to the next level, do not take any reward. The Graveyard - WIth your hammer equiped smash an hand to unlock That's Just Mean! - Open the menu and set Gold Pieces to less than 2500 then grab the bag to the right of the entrance to unlock Sir Moneybags. - Equip the Chicken Drumstick then turn a zombie into roast chicken to unlock Colonel Fortesque's Special Recipe. - Throw your remaining Chicken Drumstick then use the super cheat to refill and throw a total of 42 to unlock The Answer Is Chicken. - Continue the level until you see a fountain of rejuvenation, set your stored energy to 10 then use the fountain until the bottle is full then set the stored energy to 310 and so on until the fountain is done to unlock Spring to Life. - Open the menu and do restart then equip your arm as a weapon then kill a zombie to unlock Mostly Armless. - Go back to the fountain and do the same as above 9 more time to unlock Top Me Up! - Finally complete the level to unlock Sneaky . Cemetery Hill - Save your game before entering the level. - Kill yourself into the lava five times to unlock Deathly Smorsgasbord. - Complete the level to unlock Rock Wrangler. The Hilltop Mausoleum - Equip the Lightning and kill 12 imp to unlock Zip Zap Imp Splat. - Go past the earth door and let an imp steal your weapon then kill it to unlock Gimme That Back! - Take the upstairs then right and right then equip your Broad Sword and buy an Enchant Sword refill from the statue to unlock Now with Added Magic! - Simply complete the level to unlock A Paneful Demise & Not So Armless. Return to the Graveyard - Go to the end of the level past the red door using the Skull Key then kill the two wolves and finish the level to unlock Wolfsbane. Scarecrow Fields - Follow the road and kill both metal machine with your magic bow to unlock Impaired Drivers. Pumpkin Gorge Nothing here. The Pumpkin Serpent - Use the super cheat then go to the left to find a Cauldron and use your Witch Talisman to take the quest then kill the boss and go back to the Cauldron to unlock Witches’ Familiar. - If Witches’ Familiar didn't unlock with the previous task, spam the super cheat code, if it doesn't work try to do the quest twice. - Complete the level to unlock Pulp King Pumpkin. The Sleeping Village - Use the super cheat to get the runes then go straight past the Church then take left, a door will open in front of you then enter put a barrel on the switch and destroy the rest with the Hammer then take right and destroy the barrels and finally take the stairs down and destroy the barrels, if you need more just go back and forth destroy 15 to unlock Cooper. - Restart the level if you killed a villager, complete it to unlock It’s Not Their Fault They’re Mad. The Asylum Grounds Nothing here. Inside The Asylum - This is the best place to farm the kills trophies, use your Magic Sword or Sword with spining attack on 30 enemies to unlock Dizzy Decimator , use your Fire Bow or Dragon Armour on 50 enemies to unlock Arsonist and finally kill a total of 250 enemies to unlock Morten Would Be Proud. - Restart the level if needed then complete it. The Enchanted Earth - If Witches’ Familiar still didn't unlock open the menu and use the super cheat a lot, if nothing happens then try to do the second quest with the cauldon to the left and collect 7 amber then kill the boss. - Go straight then left and finally infront there is a stone use the Shadow Talisman to open the path, kill both Flying Demons with a bow to unlock Demolished the Demons. The Ant Caves - Smash the wall on the right to free the fairy then follow the road down and follow left all the way down to an Energy Vial and two breakable walls, smash them and continue to the left past fairies and another Energy Vial finally near a fountain break the last wall and defeat the Ant Queen and finish the level by staying on the green mark to unlock Antagonist. Pools Of The Ancient Dead Nothing here. The Lake Nothing here. The Crystal Caves - Use the super cheat to get the runes, follow all the way to the right past the Earth door then go left behind the waterfall, turn invulnerability off then hit yourself with a rock by smashing the ground with the hammer to unlock Stop Hitting Yourself. - Use both Dragon Gem into the Dragon's head then kill the boss to unlock Whack-A-Wyrm. The Gallows Gauntlet - Go straight in front all the way, past an arch and to the left there is a big fire, equip the Dragon Armour to get through then explode the chest and hit the Serpent that spawn four time to unlock If It Slithers, I Slays. The Haunted Ruins Nothing here. The Ghost Ship - Just complete the level to unlock Bone Head Bone Dead. The Entrance Hall Nothing here. Hall of Heroes - If you followed my path you should have 20 chalices then complete the level to unlock King of Cups. The Time Device Nothing here. Zarok's Lair - Save your game just in case you missed something. - Enter the boss's room, turn off invulnerability and set your stored energy to 10, equip Good Lightning then hold to heal a skeleton to unlock Almost a Hero. - If you or a skeleton died during the last part just rewind, set your stored energy to the max then heal the skeletons by making circle to keep them all alive, when the phase is over you will get 8 Energy Vial, restart the level and repeat the process to unlock Partial to the Potions. - Kill Lord Kadrok to unlock Not So Scary Now, Eh? - Killing the second boss is not needed, just complete the level to unlock Quest Complete-est. Congratulations for your platinum!

  49. Few reasons: 1: Server shutdowns 2:dead lobbies 3:having to rely on other people 4: grinds 5: in the case of ps4 games, online trophies are locked behind the ps plus paywall 6: connectivity problems 7:online saves which can't be easily reset for some games
