First, ultra-rare game done. That being Tetraminos at 3.18% for the 100%. Pretty simple, will need to change a game from my initial ur list at some point.

I've made some progress since my last post and I also add three more games to my Tier 1.

I completed Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 & Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.

 

Black Ops 4 was a long-term project, which took even longer due to me being away for a few months. Luckily I was able to knock out all characters in Blackout mode with @Koro249 before I left, which is CoD's take on Battle Royal. Honestly I'd have never played the game if it not had been for Koro. He started the game a few years ago, so I jumped on board to help him.

 

I was afraid unlocking the Blackout characters could be quite difficult but it turned out to be easier than I imagined. Getting 10 wins in Blackout however, well Jesus Christ. It was a pain and took way too long, thanks to all the try-hards and dorito sweater.

 

The Multiplayer was okay I guess, don't remember much of it.

 

Now the real reason I still play Call of Duties, Zombie Mode. All Easter Eggs were fine and fairly easy compared to other entries in the series, but fun nontheless.

Thanks to @xCursed9, @Baker & @Koro249 for flawless run's through all of them. Also thanks to @Potent_Delusions for jumping in a few times and helping out in Blackout.

Virtua Fighter 5 is a game ... I only played for the Ultra Rare trophies. It is basically just afk'ing, no need to win anything. Not proud of this one.

Meanwhile I also worked on some other games as well, which I include in my Tier 1 list. These are Assetto Corsa, Call of Duty: Ghosts & Hustle Kings.

 

Assetto Corsa is a SIM-Racer which honestly contains more grindy than difficult trophies. Career mode can basically be completed on the easiest difficulty but also takes quite some time to finish. However the real challenge lies in the infamous special events. I've only done the Time Attack special events so far, which there are only 7 of them and are cheeseable. Hotlaps and Quick Races against Alien AI difficulty will be the real deal though. Til then I am looking at roughly 30-40 more hours of grinding easy races, There are also Drift challenges, which might prove challenging but I cannot really tell, I haven't tried them out yet.

 

Call of Duty: Ghosts, and another one, actually my last one. Having done all other (old) CoD's available on PS4 (and even older ones on Xbox 360), I am going to stop buying future CoD's. Cold War and Vanguard I hear more bad than good things about. So here we go one last time. "The Bois" joining me are @Baker, @HusKy & @Koro249.

 

Lastly, Hustle Kings. Ultra Rares, one sitting at a whooping 0.08%, and a good pool game at the same time. I like that. ?I no-life'd through the game and only have the 30 dailies trophy left, which will take me another 25 days til completion. So far these dailies have been quite easy, they are either Trickshots or "Puzzle" shots/games. You can use special items that make these much easier. 

Thanks to @Smzthyy for writing a mini-guide containing valueable info on getting the 100% quick and easy. If anyone is interested in Hustle Kings, make sure to check his thread out.

Another small update for the folks who decide to give Bleed a shot!

 

So, as of 4 minutes ago, Story Mode is officially over.  I found it kind of funny how much easier it got once I got my bullet time modifier added.  Basically it refills your slo mo twice as fast.  I still had some problems with one of the later bosses, but ultimately I was able to finish Very Hard and therefore the last of the story mode stuff.  Now it's time to practice and replay every mode on Arcade mode.  Some tips I would have before starting (boss names in the spoiler):

1) Some bosses it doesn't help at all to monitor them, so much as yourself.  It may take a few minutes to knock them down, but it's a lot easier to keep an eye on you then them, and just dodge around their attacks.  These include the Mirror Core, Guppy, and Bunny Rockette.

2) Metallic enemies seem to take more damage from the flamethrower.  Bunny Rockette takes extreme damage from it.  I've heard White is also a very good weapon, but I don't believe I've unlocked it, or if I did, it just happened, so I haven't played with it much.  Regardless, my current set up, Dual Pistols and Flamethrower, kills robot enemies pretty consistently.

3) Learn how to rev your bullet time.  By that I mean, make sure you are watching it while you use it.  Some attacks require it to dodge, like the Battalion's Rocket attack on V. Hard or the worms on Level 2 (can't remember their names) who will occasionally shoot over the platform and shoot down an undodgable barrage of lasers (you can bullet time, and quickly shoot over their heads, but if you get stuck under them, you're going to get hit).

4) Some bosses show up before the fight and harrass you.  Use this to your advantage.  An early example is the helicopter in level 1.  You can shoot it while it chases you, and when you start the actual boss fight, a portion of it's health will already be gone!  Don't get greedy though.  Dodging it's projectiles while it's chasing you is a lot harder than when you actually fight it.

Excited to see all of the progress you guys have made so far.  Yall are crushing it as usual. 

 

Small mini update from me.  

 

Working on Trackmania Turbo.  I've been trying to do one or two gold medals per day and slowly making my way through the blue tracks.  On track 97 right now and so far I haven't hit a wall for to long with the track that took me the longest (95) taking around 20 minutes to get the gold.  I will say that even here the race lines are getting super precise.  I can't tell you how many times I've taken the inside line on a turn, gone over a small bump, lost  some of my speed and promptly crash on the jump because of said lost speed.  I am starting to fear what is going to happen on the black tracks ?.  Oh well, one track at a time.  I'll get there... eventually.

3rd game done from Tier 1 - Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

 

 

This was definitely one of the easier Call of Duty games I have done. Seems like the new trend is to remove DLC zombie trophies and that's a shame because even the new version can be quite a lot of fun. Campaign was pretty good too. The only thing I disliked was "Party Patrol" trophy which needs to be done in dead Fireteam mode and Dead Ops Arcade 3 wasn't fun either. Thank god they patched in the checkpoint system.

 

edit. Somehow I completely forgot to give shout out to @Eqill5 who carried us through easter egg with his know how and @Koro249 who has been my team mate in 3rd CoD zombie game. And also @Exhuman1988 who was patient enough to help us boost Party Patrol trophy. ?

Swapping out Uncharted 4: A Thief's End for Outlast as I finished UC4 the day before this event started.

 

And with that, I'm happy to report my first completion of the event. I'm not a fan of horror games and this will probably be the last one I play. You have to do two permadeath runs on the hardest difficulty (main game as well as DLC) which is obviously where the difficulty lies in this game. I used PS5Trophies guide on YouTube for both, except for the fuse part near the beginning of the female ward chapter in the main game - PowerPyx's strategy here was much cleaner and easier to follow! Besides following guides, the only other advice I can give is that turning up your gamma and brightness helps a ton. As long as you don't panic and are somewhat familiar with each area you'll be fine. I beat both permadeath's on my first attempt while following a guide for each!

 

I think I'll turn my attention to Vanquish next. Hopefully the tactical challenges won't be too much of a nightmare to complete, we shall see!

So with this I finished today my second game. Overall it was enjoyable, what I expected from a worms game but I wasn't able to enjoy it to the fullest because the performance is terrible. There are times the frame rate dips to single digits...

Pretty decent little rhythm game. Very reminiscent of Rock Band Blitz if you've ever played that. It's pretty challenging but not on the same level as something like Taiko No Tatsujin or The easier Guitar Hero games. The controls are also really bad, if you ever play this i'd recommend changing them ASAP before you get too used to them.

#3 Melbits World

 

Difficulty 2/10

Enjoyment 2/10

 

Melbits world is a cooperative puzzle-platformer which utilizes the "PlayLink" feature meaning you are required to use tablets / phones via an application to control the game by moving platforms, bouncing springs, or spinning bridges. To win the players must escort a minimum of 2/4 Melbits to the finish line (finish pipe?) before time has elapsed or the required amount of melbits have died. This game is designed to be played with a minimum of 2 players (2 devices), each player controling 2 different contraptions per level, scaling with player amount. 

 

 

The challenge involved clearing all 4 worlds, clearing a world with 4 players and unlocking 60 different "melbits". A melbit is unlocked by completing 3 levels in a row without quitting out.

 

My niece was over for a few days so I decided to give melbits a shot with her. She's only 6 years old so she can't really grasp using a controller properly so I thought this would be a good way to kill time and she was more familiar with phone games than console games. She insisted on being the "master" controller and had full control and chose what we were doing. Before every level we spent 10 minutes customizing every melbit with different costumes before we actually started playing. The game was harder than I originally expected (or 6 year olds just suck) so our progress was slow but somehow we trucked through world one and most of world two in the few days she was over playing on and off. I began dreading what was to come.

I asked my partner if she would be willing to help out but after watching the suffering over the previous few days she declined.

I had to do it solo.

Clearing world 3 and 4 on 2 devices alone was originally difficult to grasp but usually manageable to save 2/4 of the melbits required. Thankfully the 3 seeds which are awarded from taking bonus or more difficult routes were completely optional for 100% or the challenge would of been much more difficult.

After completing both world 3 and 4 I had to complete an entire world with 4 players (4 devices). World 1 isn't to difficult but this was honestly one of the silliest things in gaming I've ever completed, having to use 3 tablets and my phone completely solo to guide these creatures to the finish for a platinum was both hillarious and a little sad. The game is fairly forgiving and you can simply restart a level if you fail to complete it, so after a little trial an error I managed to get it done pretty easily. 

Finally I had to unlock 20 of each kind of "Melbit". There are 3 different types of Melbits, and as I said earlier a melbit is unlocked every 3 successful level completions in a row without quitting out. You begin the game with 1 of each type and unlock each type consecutively, resulting in 57*3 = 171 levels needed to be completed in a row without quitting out. This is where most of the grind comes into play.

After completing every other trophy I was around 20 melbits deep meaning I still had a fair way to grind. Have you ever sat there trying to unlock a trophy and thought "why?".

I honestly enjoyed the quirks of this game up to this point, but the grind ruined it for me. Due to me playing solo on 2 devices I couldn't simply turn off my brain and still accomplish this in a timely matter. I had to actively sit there and give it close to my 100% attention. In order to speed the game up you can hold a "fast forward" button. Each device has to be holding down this button for it to speed up, making doing this on 2 devices extremely uncomfortable while using the other contraptions, further making the grind more miserable. Usually when I'm doing a hefty grind I'm atleast using a control scheme I'm comfortable with, but in order to do this at maximum efficiency it was just awkward.

I quickly discovered the fastest 3 levels in world 1 and the best route to take making the grind as efficient as possible. After completing these 3 levels around 35 times each it was over.

 

 

I honestly can't recommend this game solo but if anyone does decide to tackle it I've spoilered a video below fo the route I used, I believe it's the easiest and fastest especially if done alone.

Completed Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition a few days ago. Managed to do great progress on Nex Machina as well. Why, I even got that 1CC trophy out of the way already. All I have left to complete is the Veteran playthrough and then completing a few more feats. Quantum Theory is a slow progress but at least the onlinery is done on that one. I might move to play and finish the single-player portion of the game in the next few days.

 

Haven't touched Need for Speed (2015) in weeks, I really need to go back to that one to finish those goddamned drift events under Prestige. ?

Laser League (54%): Got through my remaining Mastery 1s today, so I just need Mastery 2s for the All-Rounder trophy, which is where my boosting partner and I stopped for the day. I did decide to go ahead and do Ghost Mastery 2 on my own time (playing against my alt with AI/randos filling in the blanks) and I'm considering doing the same for Thief Mastery 2 and Snipe Mastery 2 to get those in before next Sunday. Smash Mastery 2 and Shock Mastery 2 unfortunately have to wait regardless because of the former having more of the dreaded revive blocks and the latter having a double-stun requirement that's a pain to pull off against AI.

An update:

I switched out Darkest Dungeon, Shadow of the Colossus, and No Straight Roads for Mothergunship, Amnesia Collection, and LittleBigPlanet 3.

 

Star Ocean: Finally beat the game. Almost done with the bunny races. Am working on all the bonus dungeons. Still have to start Universe and 4D difficulty.

Holy Potatoes: Beat the game. Still have to do another full playthrough and at least half of one.

Lovers: This game is too easy to be UR but it is because it was PS+.

Mothergunship: Just started playing it and it's an alright game. Will be playing on and off.

Yakuza: I told myself that I'm not allowed to play Like a Dragon until I platinum Kiwami so I'm determined to finish it before midyear. Just have brutal, battle challenges, Haruka challenges, and all the mini-game stuff left. No idea why it wouldn't show it but I have 75% already.

Trine 2: I've just done the first four levels like four years ago. Will try to do a level a day later on.

Penny: Still have that long ass grind ahead of me. If I keep it consistent I can get about 200,000 gold each day at work on my lunch break. Need 10,000,000 in total.

Tokyo: I played about 2 hours long ago and will probably need to restart. Same as Kiwami but it won't show my percentage and that it's already at 15%.

Amnesia: I'm going to finish Alien: Isolation first and then after about a week or two start the Dark Descent and then eventually get to A Machine for Pigs.

LittleBigPlanet 3: I haven't started but I've played 1 and 2 as a child and I heard 3 is easier.

 

I've been doing a space game binge to celebrate my favorite album's one year birthday and I'm about halfway done with my list. The first four games on my UR list are included but I'm not touching any other game until I'm done. I'm also going to get the new Pokemon game releasing soon so that'll take some of my time.

I nabbed my first UR plat of the year, as Slime-San (EU stack) is completed!! And it was just as enjoyable the 2nd time around, if not more... Since it hasn't been that long since my first go-thru and my skills were still pretty sharp! 

 

If you were here as well last year, you may remember the fun I had where I was 90+ minutes into my main campaign "speedrun", then paused the game on the final boss as I was getting a little frustrated with her... Then accidentally hit restart and lost the entire run, since there is no "are you sure you want to restart?" sort of option in the game ? Well I did the same damn thing this time around, however I was only right past the halfway mark this time around ?? Fair warning to anyone else who attempts this ?

 

Anyway, this is a very fun and interesting take on the platformer genre. You have a neat mechanic where you slow down time, which also lets you pass through certain obstacles. There is no shortage of levels in this game, as the main campaign has close to 400 individual levels, then the 2 secondary modes have about 100 each as well! 

 

As was the case before, the character Kawaii-san makes much of the difficulty in the game trivial, since he can jump higher which basically lets you skip tons of sections in the levels with ease ? Some fun facts about it: I finished it 1 day sooner the 2nd time around, and I beat my previous speedrun time by 30 seconds, for a speedy finish of 1h23m17s ? It was tons of fun being able to blaze through the game much quicker this time!

I think 20 minutes was a pretty good run for this, as this is probably one of the hardest levels in the game!

I've also been working on 2 other games in the interim, the first being EarthNight. This is a very intriguing take on the Autorunner genre where you run across the backs of dragons while dodging enemies, then attempt to kill the dragon (or not!) once you reach its head! I've only just scratched the surface, playing for about an hour last night, however the game is really fast paced and is definitely gonna be a challenge.

 

I've also made pretty good progress on Trials Fusion, as I've already gotten all the "easy" stuff (relatively speaking ?) out of the way and am working on the more challenging things in the game!! It is so fun an addicting... Considering how crappy I was at first, compared to how my skills have grown and I'm feeling much more confident at this juncture, I feel like I've come a long way in the last few weeks!! We'll see if I can keep the momentum going tho, because this game is an absolute beast and it's gonna take metric tonnes of patience and perseverance to make my way to the finish line; wish me luck ?

 

Anyway, it's been fun seeing everybody's progress so far, and as was the case last year I'm getting a lot of good game ideas hearing about the stuff you all have been playing too! Cheers and happy UR hunting folks ?

finished 2nd game on my list. Death track wasn't a very fun experience recommend to pass on this title. The ai's extremely cheap they like to gang up on you and kill you, the handling is awful you  pretty much need to ride the walls to have any chance at winning 10/10 difficulty glad its over with. going to get the mirrors edge plat next good luck everyone

I needed a break from Skullgirls, and ended up getting my first UR of the year: Lone Survivor. I have no idea why this is UR. It's cheap, short, and about a 4/10 difficulty IMO.

 

I'm also adding Persona 4: Arena Ultimax to my list. I already have the plat, but there are two DLC trophies that I have left to get and they are both UR.
