PS PLUS MAY 2019

I'm quite happy with this month's games since they've been in my wishlist for a long time now. It's a good month for me.

I own both of these games so there is nothing on offer this month for me yet again but let's not pretend that these games aren't both excellent. Games being AAA or having a platinum are most certainly NOT indications of any sort of quality.

Well... I guess it's better than a game I already own (Darksiders), and one I'd probably never play (Metal Gear Survive). But Overcooked doesn't sound like something that will be fun to play by yourself, so I'll likely only play Edith Finch.

Online play?  That is the only real reason I have it.  Cloud saves are nice as are an occasional discount/sale (and once in a blue moon a free game I would play) but I would not pay the subscription for that.

Yeah, one would (and should) expect the PS3 and Vita games to be replaced by something else. Unfortunately, that's not the case. To be honest, I'm only an active PS+ subscriber as it's required in order to play online. Upon the reveal/release of PS5, I really hope they will make some changes to the whole 'subscription-extortion' thing that's been going on for way too long - it's simply not okay.

 

But let's not forget that Overcooked is a pretty good local co-op game. But we should expect more (quality) games.

If I am remembering correctly my subscription is ending on june finally and I'll definitely not renew.

I kept my subscription for years because the deals on the PS Store were often better for PS+ members but now that they stopped caring about that too I don't have any reason to keep my subscription since I have downloaded like 4 PS+ games in 6 years and I don't care about their cloud service ?

This IMO is the worst PS+ monthly offerings ever. 

 

Wish they did not drop support for PS3 and Vita. At least with 6 games, even if they are all mediocre. Total Value is better than just these 2.

I never stop hearing about both these games on the internet, both of them continuously get high praise and recommendation, both games have won fairly big awards and generally are well received. This begs the question then, why suddenly when they're both free on Plus does this suddenly make them awful games and a terrible month?? Seriously?

 

Neither of the games are to my personal tastes and I likely wont play either but I have to admit this is a somewhat solid line-up. To all the PS+ haters answer me this, you complain about every line-up no matter what's there so... what DO you want? I actually want an idea of what you want and what you're expecting? You expecting the brand new shiny AAA releases for free or something?

 

I admittedly don't make use of PS+ as much as I used to and that's not because of the games but because of personal changes. When I first had PS+ it was as a budget option, I had little money so being able to pay just a tad less than a new AAA release would be and get at LEAST 24 games a year (assuming 1 console, 2 games for it, no crossbuys). Now it's down to always 2 games the value still applies, but I have more games, a backlog even. So now that I don't NEED these games they do feel less exciting to pop up, but I still see the great value for money the service still offers and I do still dip into the games they offer on a semi-regular basis (enough to get more than my money's worth, you don't need to play EVERY game to get your money's worth, not even half of 'em)

 

I sometimes wonder, being as this is a trophy site, whether the hate this month comes from no Platinums
