Oh...by the way, where do you think I should put this one? 👇 Congrats on having such a great start on your second card! I apologize if I'm over-stepping at all! But, if it were my card, I'd move Paradise Lost to Blue and put The Long Reach as your Deep Purple. Pinstripe and The Long Reach have similar shades of purple when you look at the images up close. But, the blending of purples in The Long Reach makes it read as the darker purple shade of the two when put in the Rainbow Card, imo. To be fair though, I could also see putting Pinstripe as your Deep Purple and using The Long Reach as your Purple. Paradise Lost would be Blue in this scenario, too. So, you may want to wait for @DrBloodmoney to confirm.

Popular Post D4T-V4UL7_HUN7R_
I'm up to 10 games completed on my 2nd card now with the addition of The Deadly Tower of Monsters and Dead Island 2 TDTOM Got this game on sale because it looked kinda funny. The game plays like a B-movie parody filmed in the 70s (i think) and there are plenty of moments that gave me a good chuckle. I thought the tower was a really cool and unique concept. You fight you way up level by level defeating enemies and collecting new weapons and abilities. There are also some secret areas you can only get to by jumping off the tower and falling to them with your jetpack. There's not really another game quite like this one that I've seen, definitely recommend 👾 Dead Island 2 I was going to have dying light 2 in this slot but that game has bugged out on me a few times times so I just gave up on it and started dead island 2 instead. I actually liked this game more and it seemed a lot more polished and fun than DL2. The combat is superr satisfying. The "gore system", as they call it, makes every swing of your weapon feel impactful. As you make your way through the game you also collect skill cards (instead of having a skill tree) that you can use in whatever combination you like to make some really fun builds. The music in this game is also well done and adds a lot to the vibe. Another cool feature is the ability to actually repair your weapons as well as level them up to your current level, unlike dying light 2 where your favorite weapons just break and are gone forever. I like DI2 more than DL2 which was the opposite of my expectations considering the first dying light is one of my all time favorite games, but I feel the 2nd one really dropped the ball. Didn't mean for this to just be a comparison of those two games but whatever Edited August 23, 2023 by D4T-V4UL7_HUN7R_
Popular Post GT__Jedi
Okay, time to start working on that second card: For White, I present to you Grid Legends (Base Game). I wish I could give this game a glowing review, but some issues just made it a pain to play. First, the lag. Half the time the steering would not respond for a couple of seconds, and then it was a 180 spin in which every other car hit you. Braking was the same problem. When the wheels did turn, on some vehicles you had a 10% radius, which made it impossible to even turn around on the track. You have very limited options to tune your car, so using slick tires in rain, ice, snow and sleet was normal. I only noticed a little bit of grip on the open wheel cars. I played on Expert and Hard, and took it down in difficulty when the weather or handling of the car was just unplayable. Looking at some Pros for the game was that there were some nice cars to drive and put in your garage, the stadium trucks with the jumps and the EV with the boost gates. Liked that you could design custom races and play with others. Story mode was a nice way to start the game. There weren't any license tests or challenges, so I missed that from GT5. There were a variety of tracks and races that were enjoyable to use, and the career mode was fun. Overall, I guess there were more pros than cons, and I suppose if I really wanted to continue with the game I could always pick up the (4) DLCs @ $10 apiece (which is a bit high).

Popular Post Cassylvania
You know what else is wet and sticky? A brand new card because I'm struggling to finish the first one. The good news is this one is already complete. I know I'm a bit of an asshole for what I chose for maroon, but I have like fifty games that would work for green. I chose to stick Yoku in green because I felt it could work for light blue and light green too, so it's kinda halfway in between. Same for my light green choice, which I could see as green or brown. I'm assuming brown is OK because of the background? I hate how scrunched the pictures for purple, pink, and tan are, but I refuse to let my playthrough of any of those games (particularly Haven) be in vain. I played a few of these games on PS5, but chose the PS4 images instead when they were basically the same, except for the resizing. Um, what else...? Should I rank the games? OK. Games on the right were good. Games on the left were OK. The only exception is Lost in Random, which is (somewhat fittingly) on the wrong side. I'd probably swap that with either Far: Lone Sails or A Short Hike, which were quality shorter titles. Now, let's get that prestige.

I'm not anything of a Pro, so trust in me when I say you shouldn't have a problem on getting the plat. But I recommend to try to boost at least the Pro Club trophies, which I think are the more difficult ones. Some FUT and Volta trophies are just grindy. It took me 7 months to complete, but I played here and there, so you can definitely do it in way less time.
Popular Post JayDeLosDioses
And there we go, my final update for this challenge. I've been thinking about doing a second card but I've decided against it. For the last two squares I played GTA SA for Light Green and R&C3 for Grey. I don't think I need to tell anyone about old games like this so instead of giving a short review for the games I'm going to summarize my first ever participation in this challenge: It was a lot of fun most of the time, but I had my stints where it felt like work and less like having fun gaming, and that's exactly the reason why I don't want to do another card. The second half of the year is full with new games I wanna play - Baldurs Gate, Spider-Man, Lies of P, Payday, The Crew Motorfest, Assassins Creed Mirage, and I don't want to miss out because I have to lplay a Maroon game. I'm also not the type of person to just stop at the halfway mark and not complete a challenge, especially not a self impossed one. Overall I'm quite happy with the games I've selected, the only two games I would maybe change are Code Vein (Brown) and Family Mysteries (Green), I think with a bit more research I could have played games with clearer colors, but on the other hand I mananged to combine this board with my bingo board and the ever lurking backlog quite well, so who am I to argue with that. Maybe next time. If I had to rate my games I'd go with: Foreclosed (Pink) GTA SA (Light Green, would have been 1, but the definitive edition is garbage, only good thing are the modern controls) Snookernation (Light Blue) Bloodshore (White) Cyberpunk 2077 (Yellow, could be higher, but too many crashes) Ratchet and Clank 3 (Grey, can feel the age, but other than that still a good game) Wreckfest (Tan) Guardians of the Galaxy (Maroon) Spongebob (Purple) Remant From the Ashes (Black, bad first impression, kinda ruined the experience, got better in the end) Code Vein (Brown, sooooo much grinding) Ninja Break (Blue) Arcadegeddon (Deep Purple, again soooo much grinding) Family Mysteries (Green, well... if you played one Artifex Mundy puzzle game, you kinda played them all. Same puzzles, different graphics) 9 Monkeys of Shaolin (Orange, had to do a second completly new playthrough because a trophy bugged out, thankfully a short game) The Ascent (Red, same problem as 9 monkeys of shaolin, but this time the game wasn't really short or fun.) I'll keep lurking here and maybe steal some ideas for next year. As I said, I had a lot of time tackling a few games at a time, and I'm looking forward to starting fresh again next year. Enjoy the rest of your challenge guys!
Popular Post MikkelEhlers
Here's another update: Got Valkyria Chronicles to fill the tan spot - at least that's the colour I see as the background. Valkyria Chronicles have been sitting in my backlog for many years as a part of an old Humble Bundle. I'm normally not too fond of strategy games like this - the sort of Xcom style. However I did like this. I liked how you move around with the characters and there's definitely a lot of skill involved in the movement and placement of your units. I loved how you could abuse the orders in the game to make suicide missions a valid strategy for some scenarios. The trophies are tied to the in game medal system. I do think it's kinda stupid to force a whole second playthrough because one character only unlocks in NG+ and you have to have that character alive in the end to get the personnel update. Also having 2 different trophies tied to having all the characters alive and one tied to having a character die. I mean you could just reload, but it almost seems they want you to reload for that trophy. Also for me 1000 kills were way too many, I completed all the other trophies and had only a bit over 500 kills. So that grind was rough. I guess that is some kind of karmic justice for me abusing orders and scout rushing in a lot of stages. Don't know if I'll be playing any of the sequels, but probably not for the time being at least. I really liked the aesthetics. I'm not sure what I think about being able to save and load in the middle of matches, you do get a bit tempted to reload when you get really bad RNG. And generally the game is really slow to start the matches with many conversations and such, which is pretty annoying for the second playthrough and grinding kills.
Popular Post WyndigoSpirit
It has been a bit since my last update. But I am still chugging away. Adding Dredge and Final Fantasy XII to my list! 11/16 Dredge is a fishing game and you explore the map and complete quests. There a cool story to follow and lots of people to talk to. A little fishing RPG! You can upgrade your ship to catch different kinds of fish, go faster or store more stuff. Also, try not to go mad and get eaten by the horrible monsters that lurk the seas, because yeah, this is a spooky, eldritch fishing game. It was worth trying it for that alone, and I had a great time with this game! Final Fantasy 12 is a game I have a bit of a history with. My best friend at the time was in Japan when it released there, he sent me ff12 postcards and dragged a Japanese copy of the game back. I watched him play and thought it was the most boring game! He fought the Demon wall over and over again and died each time. Don't know if he was supposed to be there yet. So this game brings back memories, despite having never played it. Time passes and this updated version ends up in my backlog were it sat for nearly 4 years. I'm actually kinda sad I didn't get to it earlier! I can certainly see why this isn't everyone's jam with the less character-driven story and the largely automated battle system. but if you give me characters to customize, I will be there and I will have a great time! Watching your carefully-planned automated characters bulldoze the enemies was a guilty pleasure! Also Balthier. Just Balthier.

Popular Post Pray_4_the_End
Back with another update... This time around I've got 5 games + 1 dlc (which I forgot counted for this event until recently) (I've also switch ME3 from light blue to regular blue, and put The Escapists in for light blue instead.) The Escapists (PS4) - Awesome little 8bit prison escape simulator that I stumbled across randomly during the summer sale a few weeks ago. It ended up being a really good time with an UR plat to boot! The Escapists/Escaspe Team DLC (PS4) - I don't normally place dlc for any games, but I had a blast with the main game and decided to pick up all the dlc for it after completing it. This one has you escaping a military prison with a team as the name suggested. More of the same Escapists goodness with this one just a different setting. Tacoma (White) (PS4) - I ended up checking this game out because it was made by the same people that made "Gone Home" which I thought was an amazing game. This game wasn't quite as good as that, but was pretty fun none the less. It's basically a walking sim that takes place in a seemingly abandoned space station, and you have this AR device that lets you review conversations of the crew that was there before. Lollipop Chainsaw (PS3) - A classic PS3 gem made that I've been wanting to re-play for ages now after having first played it on the Xbox 360 back in the day. They really don't make games like this anymore with just crass and hilarious humor. You play as Juliette Starling, a cheerleader that happens to be part of a long line of Zombie hunters. As the game suggests, you also have a chainsaw for whatever reason that you use to slaughter all kinds of zombie assholes. Overall a super fun game and I'm excited to play the re-make that's supposed to be dropping next year some time. We'll see if they manage to censor any of it, cause I'm sure some of the jokes and random dialog from npcs wont fly with how sensitive the worlds gotten lately. Jettomero (PS4) - Another game I happened upon during the Summer Sale a couple weeks back that ended up being a super chill game with an awesome Lo-fi type of OST. In this game you play as a big robot that has no idea why he's alive. You fly around a procedurally generated universe beating up these other giant robots on random worlds while trying to figure out your purpose for existing. The art style of the game is a well done cell shading type of thing that is really pleasing to the eyes. I Am Dead (PS5) - In this game you play as a recently deceased museum curator who lived an island with an active volcano. You end up uncovering an ancient mystery while trying to stop the volcano from erupting. There's puzzle elements in this game that made it pretty engaging to play while trying to figure out wtf is happening on the island. It's a fun game and I might end up double dipping for the plat on the PS4 version too at some point.

Popular Post DizzyDavidson
Adding 2 new entries: Deus Ex: Human Revolution: A first-person stealth game. My introduction to Deus Ex was with the second game (Mankind Divided) thanks to PS+. It made me go out to buy the first game quite a while ago but I've only just now played it. Can't really say anything bad about it. Highly, highly recommend it!! Dirt 5: It is an ok offroad racing game. Pretty much all elements of the game have good and bad sides. Some race tracks are cool, some are not. Some events are fun, some can be a little bit frustrating. Big name VA's but their characters (commentators) are annoying. Some cars are a dream to drive, some are a nightmare. Some songs of the soundtrack I dig (I didn't expect Tesla to be in there), some I can't stand. Game can be played on any difficulty but AI will rubberband like crazy (even on Very Easy they'll finish within a second or two behind). There was a grindy trophy for driving 1000 miles but with completing the DLC too I ended up at 850 miles naturally. There's an AFK method to get the rest which took ~1.5 hrs. Overall I had fun with the game and nothing was too difficult.

Popular Post DrBloodmoney
What's up, Rainbow Army! So, we're coming up to 2/3rds of the way through the inaugural year of this colourful Event... 8 months down, and 4 months to go, so I figured we're long overdue for a little summary! Current Stats: Event Participants: 172 Rainbow Appreciators: 49 Rainbow Warriors: 23 Rainbow Elites: 27 Rainbow Prestiges: 3 Highest Prestige Level Reached: Lv.1 We're probably getting closer to the point now, where folks are scanning through their backlogs / wish lists / new games lists / DLCs to try and find those few elusive colours they are missing, and trying to fill out that final box or two (and probably squirrelling away numerous "spare" games, to birth an almost fully-formed second or third list once they do 😆).... ...so I thought why not celebrate the completed rainbows folks already have, with a cornucopia fandango of colour, in the form of the following splash of colour... ...and maybe find some inspiration!
